  • Magento loadByAttribute for Custom Category Attributes

    I have created custom attributes for a category in my module's install script like so: $attrib = array( 'type' => 'varchar', 'group' => 'My Data', 'backend' => '', 'frontend' => '', 'label' => 'My Custom Field', 'input' => 'text', 'class' => '', 'source' => '', 'global' => Mage_Catalog_Model_Resource_Eav_Attribute::SCOPE_STORE, 'visible' => true, 'required' => false, 'user_defined' => false, 'default' => '', 'searchable' => false, 'filterable' => false, 'comparable' => false, 'visible_on_front' => false, 'unique' => true, ); $installer->addAttribute(3, 'custom_field', $attrib); The field shows up fine in the admin, and when I create the category in my script like so: $p_category = Mage::getModel('catalog/category') ->setStoreId(0) ->load(2); $category = Mage::getModel('catalog/category'); $category->setStoreId(0) ->setName('Test Category') ->setCustomField('abcd') ->setDisplayMode('PRODUCTS') ->setAttributeSetId($category->getDefaultAttributeSetId()) ->setIsActive(1) ->setIsAnchor(1) ->setPath(implode('/',$p_category->getPathIds())) ->setInitialSetupFlag(true) ->save(); I can see the value 'abcd' in the Magneto admin interface. But when I call the code below: <?php $category = Mage::getModel('catalog/category')->loadByAttribute('custom_field', 'abcd'); print_r($category); ?> I get no result. But if I loadByAttribute using the 'name' field set to 'Test Category', I DO get a result. So, in the database, I looked into the catalog_category_entity_varchar table and noticed that the 'name' attribute had an entry for both store_id = 0 AND store_id = 1 whereas the 'custom_field' attribute had only an entry for store_id = 1. When I added a store_id = 0 entry for 'custom_field' with the value set to 'abcd' in the catalog_category_entity_varchar table, loadByAttribute got the expected result. My question is, why is the 'name' field getting a store_id = 0 entry in catalog_category_entity_varchar and my custom field is not? How do I load categories by custom attributes?

    I'm using MS SQL 2008. Is it possible to create a script to loop over all tables in a database generating a set of index drop scripts and create scripts separately? What I have to do is drop all indexes on a set of databases to run a heavy data load process but then I want to re-enable all the indexes. I don't want to have to go through each table and script an index drop and then index create. Thanks!

    I'm trying to integrate Spring 3.0.5 with Jersey 1.4. I seem to have everything working, but whenever I try and return a Viewable that points to a JSP, I get a 404 error. When I wasn't using spring I could use this filter: <filter> <filter-name>Jersey Filter</filter-name> <filter-class>com.sun.jersey.spi.container.servlet.ServletContainer</filter-class> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.feature.Redirect</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.property.packages</param-name> <param-value>cheetah.frontend.controllers</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.feature.FilterForwardOn404</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.property.WebPageContentRegex</param-name> <param-value>/(images|css|jsp)/.*</param-value> </init-param> </filter> And I could return a Viewable to any JSP's, image, css that were stored in the appropriate folder. However, now that I have to use the SpringServlet to get spring integration, I'm at a loss for how to access resources, since I can't use the filter above.   • Securing a license key with RSA key.

    Hello, it's late, I'm tired, and probably being quite dense.... I have written an application that I need to secure so it will only run on machines that I generate a key for. What I am doing for now is getting the BIOS serial number and generating a hash from that, I then am encrypting it using a XML RSA private key. I then sign the XML to ensure that it is not tampered with. I am trying to package the public key to decrypt and verify the signature with, but every time I try to execute the code as a different user than the one that generated the signature I get a failure on the signature. Most of my code is modified from sample code I have found since I am not as familiar with RSA encryption as I would like to be. Below is the code I was using and the code I thought I needed to use to get this working right... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I am quite lost at this point the original code I was working with was this, this code works fine as long as the user launching the program is the same one that signed the document originally... CspParameters cspParams = new CspParameters(); cspParams.KeyContainerName = "XML_DSIG_RSA_KEY"; cspParams.Flags = CspProviderFlags.UseMachineKeyStore; // Create a new RSA signing key and save it in the container. I can drop the encryption part if I can get the signature part working right. I was using it as a backup to obfuscate the origin of the license code I am keying from. Does any of this make sense? I’m currently using the HTML control, suggested by many sites, but I have a large form, with many tabs. Since I have to load up to 8 HTML controls, loading the form takes too long. Any help?

    I have just added the SherlockActionBar library to my android project. After some small changes (FragmentActivity - SherlockFragmentActivity, getActionBar() - getSupportActionBar(), imports) it all compiled nicely.     I'm trying to write some tests (RSpec) against the AppEngine and its datastore. I've tried to load the environment and tests via: appcfg.rb run -S spec app/tests/ And I end up with the following error: spec:19: undefined method `bin_path' for Gem:Module (NoMethodError) I can run non-appengine specs just fine by running: spec app/tests/ Any suggestions on how to get RSpec up and running with JRuby and Google App Engine would be greatly appreciated. A bit of mootools is used for DOM navigation Description: HTML: 1 iframe called "buffer" 1 div called "display" JAVASCRIPT: (short: copy iframe content into a div on the page) 1) onLoad on iframe triggers handler(), a counter makes sure it only run once (this is because otherwise firefox will go into feedback loop. What i think happens: iframe on load handler() copyBuffer change src of iframe , and firefox takes that as an onload again) 2) copybuffer() is called, it sets src of iframe then copies iframe content into div, then erases iframe content THE CODE: count=0; function handler(){ if (count==0){ copyBuffer(); count++; } } function copyBuffer(){ $('buffer').set('src','http://www.somelink.com/'); if (window.frames['buffer'] && $('display') ) { $('display').innerHTML = window.frames['buffer'].document.body.innerHTML; window.frames['buffer'].document.body.innerHTML=""; } } problems: QUESTION 1) nothing happens, the content is not loaded into the div. But if i either: A) remove the counter and let the script run in a feedback loop: the content is suddenly copied into the div, but off course there is a feedback loop going on, you can see it keeps loading in the status bar. OR B) insert an alert in the copyBuffer function. The content is copied, without the feedback loop. why does this happen? QUESTION 2) The If wrapped around the copying code i got from a source on the internet. I am not sure what it does? If i remove it the code does not work in: Safari and Chrome. To simplify the user-specific settings, I'm using the profile class that Joel Spolsky wrote about here. It works great in the ASP.NET MVC website, but for some reason it's throwing a TypeLoadException when being used from this new application. I'm not sure why the framework is trying to load the new class from System.Web.

    Instruments is able to properly symbolize my app's main bundle (as well as frameworks and libraries) in the stack trace of the extended detail view. However, symbols aren't resolved for plugins loaded during execution. Setting the build directory where the dSym files for the main and plugin bundles are located (as well as the app itself) in the "File Re-Symbolicate Document" menu item made no discernible difference in the stack trace. What must I do for Instruments to load symbols for the plugins?

  • Why is my javascript function sometimes "not defined"?

    Problem: I call my javascript function, and sometimes I get the error 'myFunction is not defined'. But it is defined. For example. I'll occasionally get 'copyArray is not defined' even in this example: function copyArray( pa ) { var la = []; for (var i=0; i < pa.length; i++) la.push( pa[i] ); return la; } Function.prototype.bind = function( po ) { var __method = this; var __args = []; // sometimes errors -- in practice I inline the function as a workaround __args = copyArray( arguments ); return function() { /* bind logic omitted for brevity */ } } As you can see, copyArray is defined right there, so this can't be about the order in which script files load. I've been getting this in situations that are harder to work around, where the calling function is located in another file that should be loaded after the called function. But this was the simplest case I could present, and appears to be the same problem. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, so I do suspect some kind of load-timing-related problem. But I have no idea what. @Hojou: That's part of the problem. The function in which I'm now getting this error is itself my addLoadEvent, which is basically a standard version of the common library function. @James: I understand that, and there is no syntax error in the function. When that is the case, the syntax error is reported as well. In this case, I am getting only the 'not defined' error. @David: The script in this case resides in an external file that is referenced using the normal <script src="file.js"></script> method in the page's head section. @Douglas: Interesting idea, but if this were the case, how could we ever call a user-defined function with confidence? In any event, I tried this and it didn't work. @sk: This technique has been tested across browsers and is basically copied from the prototype library.

  • What are the performance implications of wildcard mapping all requests through IIS 6.0?

    I am interested in using UrlRewriter.NET and noticed in the config page for IIS 6.0 on Win2k3, that they say to map all requests through the ASP.NET ISAPI. That's fine, but I am wondering if anyone has good or bad things to say about this performance wise? Is my web server going to be dragged down to its knees by doing this or will it be more of a small step up in server load? My server currently has room to breathe now, so some performance hit is expected and acceptable.

    I'm having issues with loading a SWF that references external SWF files...     Is there a way to load an image from some url or a local folder and then make some complex morphing to it in real time? For example, I have a vector animated pseudo 3D paper in my project that, for example, is being flipped different ways. Then I want to place some image inside that paper box and want to morph that image accordingly to the box form changes or at least make it look more realistically, not exactly the same as the paper box.
