• GWT and Mock the view in MVP pattern

  Hello, i dunno if the question is already ask, but i couldn't find it... i'm searching a way to mock my view in order to test my presenter ? i try to use mockito for the view, and set it in the presenter, but in result in presenter, when i call presenter.getDisplay() (the getter for the view) all of my widget is null ? as i believe it's normal mockito will not mock the widget. i'm 100% sure i mistaken something but i couldnt find it. thanks for your enlightement :)

• Unable to view ChildWindows in Silverlight

  So here is the deal. I have created a silverlight dll that contains two ChildWindow dialogs. These dialogs are self contained with a WCF service reference. I want to reuse these dialogs across multiple projects. I have added a reference to the dll in another project. I am able to new up the childWindow, however, I am not able to set the public properties on it and when I call the Show method, nothing is displayed. Not really sure where to start to figure out why this is not working.

• Handling log-in / log-out via Objective-c

  Having a real problem with this one...Tried using cookies to store variables, etc. but no luck. Writing an iPhone app where the User has to log in. There is an HTTPS call to get the person's userid, which is used practically everywhere else in the app, so that either has to be stored in a global variable or a cookie (for sending messages to other users, etc.) I tried the cookie route, but am having great difficulty storing (and retriving) a user ID in a cookie. The User should be able to then close out of the app and then reboot it and have the app retain their User ID as well, so I'm not sure global variables are necessarily the solution to this. Are there any best practices or suggestions?

  I am a new bee to ajax world. I am working on a site which uses jquery and codeigniter which processes big files like 2GB. It basically parses file and stores some extracted data from it, it uses ajax to show how far the files have been processed etc. Now I want to change the way we process files. I want to first store the file on server side and then start the processing. I evaluated upload class of codeigniter but looks like I cannot use it for this purpose as this class works with field_name and I could not find a way to make an ajax call to the upload class. My questions is : What would be suitable for my problem? Thanks in advance, Sam

• C# Is it possible to interrupt a specific thread inside a ThreadPool?

  Suppose that I've queued a work item in a ThreadPool, but the work item blocks if there is no data to process (reading from a BlockingQueue). If the queue is empty and there will be no more work going into the queue, then I must call the Thread.Interrupt method if I want to interrupt the blocking task, but how does one do the same thing with a ThreadPool? The code might look like this: void Run() { try { while(true) { blockingQueue.Dequeue(); doSomething(); } } finally { countDownLatch.Signal(); } } I'm aware that the best thing to do in this situation is use a regular Thread, but I'm wondering if there is a ThreadPool equivalent way to interrupt a work item.

  I am using jQuery and my js file thats calling a jquery function resides in totally different directory than jQuery is in. I need to call this function reloadPage like this from js file reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); but it gives me an error Line: 341 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method Line 341 is reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID});. What can I do to run this function from outside the directory? I tried parent.reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); But that didnt work either.

• Powershell - Splitting variable into chunks

  I have written a query in Powershell interrogating a F5 BIG-IP box through it's iControl API to bring back CPU usage etc. Using this code (see below) I can return the data back into a CSV format which is fine. However the $csvdata variable contains all the data. I need to be able to take this variable and for each line split each column of data into a seperate variable. • VB.NET Application which can compile and run C programs

  These days I'm working on a VB.NET application which can be used to edit, compile and run C programs. Can someone tell me how I can call a cl.exe process from within my VB program and also that how do I run the program in the console widow itself. Presently I have only the editor ready. With that one can type in a program and save it with a ".c" extension. Now there are 2 buttons on my form - "Compile" and "Run". When the user clicks on the "Compile" button, the program should be passed to the cl.exe process and the errors should be displayed in another textbox or the DOS(black screen itself). And when the user clicks on the "Run" button, the ".exe" file which just got created should get executed.

• EF4 CTP5 Code First approach ignores Table attributes

  I'm using EF4 CTP5 code first approach but am having trouble getting it to work. I have a class called "Company" and a database table called "CompanyTable". I want to map the Company class to the CompanyTable table, so have code like this: [Table(Name = "CompanyTable")] public class Company { [Key] [Column(Name = "CompanyIdNumber", DbType = "int")] public int CompanyNumber { get; set; } [Column(Name = "CompanyName", DbType = "varchar")] public string CompanyName { get; set; } } I then call it like so: var db = new Users(); var companies = (from c in db.Companies select c).ToList(); However it errors out: Invalid object name 'dbo.Companies'. It's obviously not respecting the Table attribute on the class, even though it says here that Table attribute is supported. Also it's pluralizing the name it's searching for (Companies instead of Company.) How do I map the class to the table name?

• Stop VBA Evaluate from calling target function twice

  I am having trouble getting VBA's Evaluate() function to only execute once; it seems to always run twice. For instance, consider the trivial example below. If we run the RunEval() subroutine, it will call the EvalTest() function twice. This can be seen by the two different random numbers that get printed in the immediate window. The behavior would be the same if we were calling another subroutine with Evaluate instead of a function. Can someone explain how I can get Evaluate to execute the target function once instead of twice? Thank you. • Arraylist is null; I cannot access books in the arraylist

• MacBook Pro Late 2009 SATA Resets, Slowness (Is my motherboard dying on both machines?)

  My MacBook Pro runs slower the longer it's on. I am getting kernel warnings. Some, but not all, resets correlate with AC power connects and disconnects. I don't think the warnings do. (How do I tell?) What are these errors? What causes them? Can this damage the drive or corrupt data?   For some reason I can't pass a var inside a mysql statement. I have a function that can be used for multiple tables. So instead of repeating the code I want to change the table that is selected from like so, function show_all_records($table_name) { mysql_query("SELECT * FROM $table_name"); etc, etc... } And to call the function I use show_all_records("some_table") or show_all_records("some_other_table") depending on which table I want to select from at the moment. But it's not working, is this because variables can't be passed through mysql statements?

  I have a set of three values, call them x, y, and z. If value A happens to match only one in the set x, y, and z, then that means we have a proper match and we stop searching for a match, even if it is at y. It can match any one in that set. These values x, y, and z are non-constant so I cannot use a switch-case statement. How do I do this with an if-elseif-else statements without having to use GOTO. I am using C++ (no boost or any of that other fancy stuff). Now, I am trying to do this in code and it is racking my brain this morning (not enough coffee?)

The application holds the EDM's ObjectContext as a member-level variable, which it uses to call ObjectContext.SaveChanges(). So far, so good. I am going to refactor to repositories later. Right now, my question is a bit more basic: When I am finished with the EDM, what do I need to do to release it? Is it as simple as calling Dispose() on the ObjectContext? Thanks for your help.

Additionally, my question is about debugging using Visual Studio, since i already have it installed, and is already my registered JIT. How do you debug a program using Visual Studio? • Win32 select/poll/eof/ANYTHING!?!?!

  Using the standard Win32 file I/O API's (CreateFile/ReadFile/etc), I'm trying to wait for a file to become readable, or for an exception to occur on the file. If Windows had any decent POSIX support, I could just do: select(file_count, files_waiting_for_read, NULL, files_waiting_for_excpt, NULL, NULL); And select will return when there's anything interesting on some of the files. Windows doesn't support select or poll. Fine. I figured I could take the file and do something like: while(eof(file_descriptor)) { Sleep(100); } The above loop would exit when more data is available to be read. But nope, Windows doesn't have an equivalent of eof() either! I could possibly call ReadFile() on the file, and determine if it's at the eof that way. But, then I'd have to handle the reading at that point in time -- I'm hoping to simply be able to figure out that a file is readable, without actually reading it. What are my options?

It seems to roughly work, however, I'm getting a little bit of mangling and there are no accompanying file/line numbers associated with each function invocation (as I'd expect within a gdb bt call or something). I've found the correct web service to call (http://social.yahooapis.com/v1/user/{guid}/contacts) but it is asking for the user's GUID, not their username/password. I've searched, and am unable to find a "lookup" feature through the Yahoo API which lets me get the user's guid from their username/password. Does anyone have any experience with the Contacts API. I've reaad over the documentation, and looked at YQL as well, but I still haven't found how to get the user's guid. Thanks guys.
