• Gridview Paging via ObjectDataSource: Why is maximumRows being set to -1?

  So before I tried custom gridview paging via ObjectDataSource... I think I read every tutorial known to man just to be sure I got it. It didn't look like rocket science. I've set the AllowPaging = True on my gridview. I've specified PageSize="10" on my gridview. I've set EnablePaging="True" on the ObjectDataSource. I've added the 2 paging parms (maximumRows & startRowIndex) to my business object's select method. I've created an analogous "count" method with the same signature as the select method. The only problem I seem to have is during execution... the ObjectDataSource is supplying my business object with a maximumRows value of -1 and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I've searched to the end of the web for anyone else having this problem and apparently I'm the only one. The StartRowIndex parameter seems to be working just fine. Any ideas?

• Android Hero denies XMLSocket or Socket connection? ....errors #2031, #2048

  Hi, I am trying to adapt an existing flash web chat application for the Android mobile phone and I am having this really annoying issue. The server is a custom based solution and can send back both binary messages or XML. So I can use either XMLSocket class or the Socket class to get data from the server. Everything works fine when deployed and I connect from the desktop but when I try it from the android mobile I get the infamous errors #2031, followed by #2048. Now the crossdomain.xml file is rock solid and works well for desktop. When the connect socket method runs I see that the server replies with the crossdomain file but I get the error when running on the mobile. Has anyone bumped into this? Is there some limitation from the mobile phone part. I wasn't able to find anything relevant for this issue, in terms of the phone not allowing Socket or XMLSocket connections. The phone(s) Motorola and HTC run Android 2.1 and indicates the flash FL10,1,123,358 version of flash lite. The issue can be reproduced also on the HTC Desire. • Using Sphinx with a distutils-built C extension

  I have written a Python module including a submodule written in C: the module itself is called foo and the C part is foo._bar. The structure looks like: src/ foo/__init__.py <- contains the public stuff foo/_bar/bar.c <- the C extension doc/ <- Sphinx configuration conf.py ... foo/__init__.py imports _bar to augment it, and the useful stuff is exposed in the foo module. This works fine when it's built, but obviously won't work in uncompiled form, since _bar doesn't exist until it's built. I'd like to use Sphinx to document the project, and use the autodoc extension on the foo module. This means I need to build the project before I can build the documentation. Since I build with distutils, the built module ends up in some variably named dir build/lib.linux-ARCH-PYVERSION — which means I can't just hard-code the directory into a Sphinx' conf.py. So how do I configure my distutils setup.py script to run the Sphinx builder over the built module? • Decoding the IE9 user agent

  I installed IE9 in a Windows 7 virtual machine, and was surprised to see this user agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/5.0; BOIE9;ENUSMSNIP) In particular, the last two keys BOIE9 and ENUSMSNIP look very spammy. I'm used to seeing toolbars and add-ins register themselves at the end of the user agent like that, but this is on a virgin install of Windows 7 with no other software. They're defined in the registry here: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\User Agent\PostPlatform That key has a value of IEAK, which is apparently the Internet Explorer Administrators Kit which according to Microsoft sends a custom user agent string. But why? I'm guessing that BOIE9 is stands for "Bing on IE9". It's the only active Add-On: As for ENUSMSNIP, I'm at a loss. My guesses are: ENUS = Locale, which for me is EN-US ("US English") MS = Microsoft NIP = ??? I tried changing my locale to EN-GB, but the user agent didn't update nor did the registry. So it appears it's only at the time of install that it matters (if I'm even right about ENUS). Does anyone know what these two user agent keys represent? Or, care to share what your IE9 user agent is, and maybe we can piece it together ourselves?

• Add an item to the Finder/Save dialog sidebar

  I'm working on a script where a user logs into a guest account on OS and is prompted for their network credentials in order to mount their network home folder (while they benefit from working on a local user folder). As the guest folder is deleted when users log out, I want to discourage them from saving anything there. I would like to replace the items on the Finder and Open/Save sidebar lists (such as "Desktop", username, "Documents", etc) with ones that would save into their network home folder. It is possible to do this using AppleScript or Cocoa APIs, or do I need to modify a plist and restart the Finder? [Ack. Looking into ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.sidebars.plist, it isn't at all clear how I'd populate it.] Similar Questions: AppleScript: adding mounted folder to Finder Sidebar? suggests using fstab; this code will most likely run as a user and really, automounting at that point would be too late. How do you programmatically put folder icons on the Finder sidebar, given that you have to use a custom icon for the folder? Says there is no Cocoa API, but that you can use a carbon-style LSSharedFileList API that is only documented in a single header file. Does anyone know of some example code to add an item to the Finder sidebar?

  I have a custom UIImageView class that creates thumbnails (UIImageView) and each thumbnail has a label. The label is created by another class. The label class creates a UIImageView and a UITextView on top of it. I need to write using drawInRect, because I need to write the full object to a precise location. I expected object.layer.contents to be the image equivalent to these 3 "layers" flattened, in other words, the object's image, the label background and the label text, as it would if I created these 3 objects in Photoshop and flatten the composition. I also expect object.myLabel.layer.contents to contains the rendered contents of the UITextView over the label background. The problem is that when I use UIImage *myImage = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:objecto.myLabel.layer.contents]; [myImage drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, 100, 100)]; I get nothing. How can I obtain a "flattened" image resultant to the full object (including its subviews)? thanks

  I am trying to write a recursive C# function that will operate on generic dictionaries of the form IDictionary<string, T> where T is either another IDictionary<string, T> or a string. My first failed attempt looked something like this: public string HandleDict(IDictionary<string, string> dict){ // handle the leaf-node here } public string HandleDict<T>(IDictionary<string, IDictionary<string, T>> dict){ // loop through children foreach(string key in dict.Keys){ HandleDict(dict[key]); } } I also tried variants of HandleDict<T>(IDictionary<string, T>) where T : IDictionary<string, T> but that also doesn't quite work. I know that what I want to do could be achieved through a custom class as the parameter instead of dictionaries, and that my attempts are conceptually flawed (there's no end to the recursion in the generic function). I would still like to know if there is actually a way to do what I want here using just generic IDictionaries.

• FileReference.save() duplicates ByteArray

  Hi, I've encountered a memory problem using FileReference.save(). My Flash application generates of a lot of data in real-time and needs to save this data to a local file. As I understand, Flash 10 (as opposed to AIR) does not support streaming to a file. But, what's even worse is that FileReference.save() duplicates all the data before saving it. I was looking for a workaround to this doubled memory usage and thought about the following approach: What if I pass a custom subclass of ByteArray as an argument to FileReference.save(), where this ByteArray subclass would override all read*() methods. The overridden read*() methods would wait for a piece of data to be generated by my application, return this piece of data and immediately remove it from the memory. I know how much data will be generated, so I could also override length/bytesAvailable methods. Would it be possible? Could you give me some hint how to do it? I've created a subclass of ByteArray, registered an alias for it, passed an instance of this subclass to FileReference.save(), but somehow FileReference.save() seems to treat it just as it was a ByteArray instance and doesn't call any of my overridden methods... • Is there a simple way to "roll your own forms" for mysql in php, for example in jquery?

  I've been googling around for a really simple way of making what is, in effect, nothing more than an enhanced phpMySql. In a mysql database, I have: Name, address, phone, website etc, plus 2 or 3 custom fields. This data is pulled out to make a website. All I want is to be able to make a freeform form, a bit like Access, but for the web, and the only thing I want to do over and above normal field editing would be to have a list of when I contact them, what was said, and perhaps a reminder when the next action is due. I've looked at so many CRMs my mind is boggling, and they all do WAY more than I need. I don't have leads or accounts, all I have is the need to make sure than when I update the person's details, and for that data to be in the same DB as my site is generate from. I'm happy to learn if I can get pointed in the right direction, and I have a feeling that something like what I want might lie in the direction of jquery. It's just that there's so much good jquery stuff about, I can't see the wood for the trees! Thanks.

• Maven - 'all' or 'parent' project for aggregation?

  For educational purposes I have set up a project layout like so (flat in order to suite eclipse better): -product | |-parent |-core |-opt |-all Parent contains an aggregate project with core, opt and all. Core implements the mandatory part of the application. Opt is an optional part. All is supposed to combine core with opt, and has these two modules listed as dependencies. I am now trying to make the following artifacts: product-core.jar product-core-src.jar product-core-with-dependencies.jar product-opt.jar product-opt-src.jar product-opt-with-dependencies.jar product-all.jar product-all-src.jar product-all-with-dependencies.jar Most of them are fairly straightforward to produce. I do have some problem with the aggregating artifacts though. I have managed to make the product-all-src.jar with a custom assembly descriptor in the 'all' module which downloads the sources for all non-transitive deps, and this works fine. This technique also allows me to make the product-all-with-dependencies.jar. I however recently found out that you can use the source:aggregate goal in the source plugin to aggregate sources of the entire aggregate project. This is also true for the javadoc plugin, which also aggregates through the usage of the parent project. So I am torn between my 'all' module approach and ditching the 'all' module and just use the 'parent' module for all aggregation. It feels unclean to have some aggregate artifacts produced in 'parent', and others produced in 'all'. Is there a way of making an 'product-all' jar in the parent project, or to aggregate javadoc in the 'all' project? Or should I just keep both? Thanks

• Do you have health checks in your web app or web site?

  I have built PHP based "health check" scripts for several projects, but they were always custom-made for the occasion and not written for abstraction as an independent product. I would like to know whether such a solution exists. What I meam by "health check" is a protected web page that functions much like a suite of unit tests, but on a more operational level, showing red/yellow/green statuses for things like Are the cache directories writable? Is the PHP version correct, are required extensions installed? Is the configuration file protected from writing? Is the database server reachable? Do the key tables exist in the database? Is there enough disk space available? Is the site's front page reachable and renders fully ( = no PHP errors)? Do the project's libraries' MD5 checksums match the original ones? Do you do this - or parts of it - in your applications and web sites? Are there any standardized tools for this that bring along all the functionality to perform the tests (ideally as plugins), and just need to be configured accordingly? Is there a way to set this up using one of the Unit Testing frameworks available for PHP (preferably PHPUnit)? If so, do you know any resources / tutorials outlining how?

  Many young programmers think that their bottleneck is typing speed. After some experience one realizes that it is not the case, you have to think much more than type. At some point my room-mate forced me to turn of the light (he sleeps during the night). I had to learn to touch type and I experienced an actual improvement in programming skill. The most surprising was that the improvement not due to sheer typing speed, but to a change in mindset. I'm less afraid now to try new things and refactor them later if they work well. It's like having a new tool in the bag. Have anyone of you had similar experience? Now I trained a touch typing a little with KTouch. I find auto-generate lessons the best. I can use this program to create new lessons out of text files but it's only verbatim training, not auto-generated based on a language model. Do you know any touch typing program that allows creation of custom, but randomized lessons?

  Hi Folks, I am trying to create an asp.net custom control that acts as a hosting container for any other controls, similar to the existing ‘Panel’ control. Basically, I need to build a web control that groups a bunch of other controls. It will consist of a header and a body pane, similar to a normal window in desktop application. The header will contain some simple text and some JavaScript driven code that shows/hides the body pane. The body pane simply hosts any number of other controls. +------------------------------------------------------+ | User Details Show/Hide | +------------------------------------------------------+ | Name: [Eric ] | | Address: [Some where] | | Date of Birth: [01/01/1980] | | | | (any other fields goes on) | | | | | +------------------------------------------------------+ Ideally I want to create a control that packs the whole thing together, so at design time I could use the following markup. <myCtl:SuperContainer runat=”server” Title=”User Details”> <asp:label id=”lblName” runat=”server” text=”Name:”/> <asp:textbox id=”txtName” runat=”server”/> <asp:label id=”lblDOB” runat=”server” text=”Date of Birth:”/> <asp:textbox id=”txtDOB” runat=”server”/> (…other controls definition…) </myCtl:SuperContainer> I plan to include two panels in my control, one for the header and another one for the body, but as you can see, the key issue is to find a way to ‘divert’ the child controls that are defined in the markup to the body panel, instead of the default parent container. I feel it can be some how simply override (manipulate) the control property, but don’t know how to properly do so. Can any one give some idea about how to implement this ‘SuperContainer’ control? • SharePoint: Filtering a List that has Folders

  I have a SharePoint document library that has a folder structure used for organizing the documents (but also for controlling access, via permissions on the folders). The documents in the library are updated every month, and we store every month's version of the document in the same folder; there's a "month" column used for filtering that will contain values like Jan 09, Feb 09, etc. It looks like this: Title Month ----- ----- SubFolder 1 SubFolder 2 [] Interesting Facts Jan 09 [] Interesting Facts Feb 09 [] Interesting Facts Mar 09 [] Fascinating Numbers Jan 09 [] Fascinating Numbers Feb 09 ... Now, because users will generally be most interested in the 'current' month, I'd like them to be able to apply a filter, and select (say) Mar 09. However, if they do this using the built-in filtering, it also filters out the folders, and they can no longer navigate the folder hierarchy. This is no good - I want them to be able to move between folders with the filter intact, so that they don't need to keep switching it off and on again. I figured I might be able to use a custom view (selecting where type=folder or month=[month]), and to an extent that does work. However, I can only get it to work for a fixed month, whereas I need the user to be able to select the month - perhaps via a drop-down control on the page (and I don't want to create 60 views for 5 years' worth of months, nor do I want to have to create a new view every month). I thought it might be possible to create a view in code (rather than via the UI), but I've not been able to figure out how to get a dynamic value (a user-specific setting) into the CAML query. Any pointers gratefully appreciated! And by the way, I am aware of the dogma that folders are bad, and that everything should just be a list. However, having considered the alternatives, I still favour using folders - if I can solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

• Approaches to replace cursor in pure AS3 / Flare project?

  Hi there good lookin, I've got a pure AS3 (no Flex) project that uses Flare to display and interact with a data visualization. I just implemented some panning behavior, so you can click and drag the visualization around, and now I'd like to give the user a visual indicator that this is possible, by switching the arrow cursor with a nice grabby-looking hand icon. The user can click and drag at any time except when the mouse is over a clickable node (at which time the cursor swaps to a pointer - this behavior is already in place). So... 1) Do I need to create my own custom bitmap/sprite or is there a palette of built-in cursors I can use? (I'm not using Flex.) 2) Is there a way to simply replace the default arrow with the pan cursor project-wide, or do I need to attach the swapping to mouse events on display objects? Can I use the stage object to make this behavior apply everywhere? 3) How do I perform the swap? Do I use the Cursor object directly or do I need to get involved with the CursorManager? Any guidance, pseudo-code, or words of wisdom is greatly appreciated!

  I am designing a custom widget which is basically a QGroupBox holding a configurable number of QCheckBox buttons, where each one of them should control a particular bit in a bitmask represented by a QBitArray. In order to do that, I added the QCheckBox instances to a QButtonGroup, with each button given an integer ID: def populate(self, num_bits, parent = None): """ Adds check boxes to the GroupBox according to the bitmask size """ self.bitArray.resize(num_bits) layout = QHBoxLayout() for i in range(num_bits): cb = QCheckBox() cb.setText(QString.number(i)) self.buttonGroup.addButton(cb, i) layout.addWidget(cb) self.setLayout(layout) Then, each time a user would click on a checkbox contained in self.buttonGroup, I'd like self.bitArray to be notified so I can set/unset the corresponding bit in the array. For that I intended to connect QButtonGroup's buttonClicked(int) signal to QBitArray's toggleBit(int) method and, to be as pythonic as possible, I wanted to use new-style signals syntax, so I tried this: self.buttonGroup.buttonClicked.connect(self.bitArray.toggleBit) The problem is that buttonClicked is an overloaded signal, so there is also the buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*) signature. In fact, when the program is executing I get this error when I click a check box: The debugged program raised the exception unhandled TypeError "QBitArray.toggleBit(int): argument 1 has unexpected type 'QCheckBox'" which clearly shows the toggleBit method received the buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*) signal instead of the buttonClicked(int) one. So, the question is, how can we specify, using new-style syntax, that self.buttonGroup emits the buttonClicked(int) signal instead of the default overload - buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*)?

• How can I prevent a textbox from taking focus on the postback when I have a calendar extender on it?

  Hello, I have repeater, inside this repeater is a user control. In my c# codebehind on my user control I dynamically add a textbox and assign a calendar extender to it. Similar to this. //custom control protected void Page_Load(object o, EventArgs e) { TextBox tb = new TextBox(); tb.ID = "myTextBox"; MaskedEditExtender meeDate = new MaskedEditExtender(); meeDate.ID = "meeDate"; meeDate.TargetControlID = this.UniqueID + "$" + tb.ID; meeDate.Mask = "99/99/9999"; meeDate.MaskType = MaskedEditType.Date; CalendarExtender ce = new CalendarExtender(); ce.ID = "ceCalendar"; ce.TargetControlID = this.UniqueID + "$" + tb.ID; this.Controls.Add(tbDate); this.Controls.Add(meeDate); this.Controls.Add(ce); } This works well, however after I postback the textbox takes focus and the calendar extender fires and it looks really.... dumb. How can I stop this?

• Keeping dates in order when using date_select and discarding year in Rails?

  My app has users who have seasonal products. When a user selects a product, we allow him to also select the product's season. We accomplish this by letting him select a start date and an end date for each product. We're using date_select to generate two sets of drop-downs: one for the start date and one for the end date. Including years doesn't make sense for our model. So we're using the option: discard_year => true To explain our problem, consider that our products are apples. Vendor X carries apples every year from September to January. Years are irrelevant here, and that's why we're using discard_year => true. However, while the specific years are irrelevant, the relative point in time from the start date to the end date is relevant. This is where our problem arises. When you use discard_year => true, Rails does set a year in the database, it just doesn't appear in the views. Rails sets all the years to 0001 in our app. Going back to our apple example, this means that the database now thinks the user has selected September 0001 to January 0001. This is a problem for us for a number of reasons. To solve this, the logic that I need to implement is the following: - If season_start month/date is before season_end month/date, then standard Rails approach is fine. - But, if season_start month/date is AFTER season_end month/date, then I need to dynamically update the database field such that the year for season_end is equal to the year for season_start + 1. My best guess is that I would create a custom method that runs as an after_save or after_update in my products model. But I'm not really sure how to do this. Ideas? Anybody ever had this issue? • Drawing graphics on top of a JButton

  I have a situation wherein I have a bunch of JButtons on a GridLayout. I need each of the JButtons to have: a background image (but retain the ability to keep the default button look if needed) custom graphics drawn on top by other classes I have no trouble with the background image, since I am using setIcon() but I am having problems drawing things on top of the background. At one point I was able to draw on top of the button, but after the button was clicked, the drawings disappeared. How can make the button keep this drawing state? Basically, I need a way for my JButtons to have public methods that would allow another class to draw anything on it such as: public void drawSomething() { Graphics g = this.getGraphics(); g.drawOval(3,2,2,2); repaint(); } or public Graphics getGraphics() { return this.getGraphics(); } then another class could do this: button.getGraphics().drawSomething(); The latter is more what I am looking for but the first is equally useful. Is there any way to go about this? Also, overriding the parent class method paintComponent() doesn't help since I need each button to have different graphics.

• ASP.Net forms authentication - multiple providers

  I have an ASP.Net 4.0 application, and within it is a folder called "Forum", setup as a sub application in IIS 7. This forum package implements a custom provider for .net membership. The forum is running in .net 3.5. I'd like to setup the main site so that when users login, it logs them into both my site and the forum site. Both the main site and the forum have separate .Net membership tables. How can I specify which provider to use with formsauthentication? right now I have FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(...); this, however, just uses my default provider and does nothing with the provider for the forum I tried setting the forum app and my web app to have the same cookie name, as well as setting the machinekey on each: <machineKey validationKey="AutoGenerate" validation="SHA1" /> no dice. I googled and didnt really come up with any example of how to use multiple providers like I want to. I updated my web.config to have both provideers but this is useless if I cannot specify in my code which one to use.

• How do I display a view as if it's the front page via a module?

  I have a simple view that feeds a home page. I have a custom module that registers some specific URLs in hook_menu that I pass into my module so I can pass them as arguments into the view. I can get the module to display the view all right, but it doesn't use the teaser/is_front view that outputs when I access the home page. I looked through the APIs but I can't seem to figure out how I can output the view via my module as if it's the front page, meaning $is_front is true and the teasers would appear. The reason I'm not passing in the arguments via the URL bar into the view itself is: My argument list is known and finite The argument order is mixed, meaning I will sometimes have /argument1, /argument1/argument2 or just /argument2. I only want to capture the first level URL as an argument for specific, known strings (e.g. I don't want to pass /admin into my view but I do want to pass in /los-angeles, which I register in the menu system via hook_menu in my module) Here are some examples to make this more clear: /admin - loads the admin page /user - loads the login page /boston - passes into the first argument of the view; shows in front/teaser mode / - shows view with no arguments /bread - passes into argument 2 of the view; shows in front/teaser mode /boston/bread - Passes into argument 1 and 2 of the view; shows in front/teaser mode Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way? • Consolidate multiple site files into single location

  We have a custom PHP/MySQL CMS running on Linux/Apache thats rolled out to multiple sites (20+) on the same server. Each site uses exactly the same CMS files with a few files for each site being customised. The customised files for each site are: /library/mysql_connect.php /public_html/css/* /public_html/ftparea/* /public_html/images/* There's also a couple of other random files inside /public_html/includes/ that are unique to each site. Other than this each site on the server uses the exact same files. Each site sitting within /home/username/. There is obviously a massive amount of replication here as each time we want to deploy a system update we need to update to each user account. Given the common site files are all stored in SVN it would make far more sense if we were able to simply commit to SVN and deploy to a single location direct from there. Unfortunately, making a major architecture change at this stage could be problematic. In my mind the ideal scenario would mean creating an account like /home/commonfiles/ and each site using these common files unless an account specific file exists, for example a request is made to /home/user/public_html/index.php but as this file doesnt exist the request is then redirected to /home/commonfiles/public_html/index.php. I know that generally this approach is possible, similar to how Zend Framework (and probably others) redirect all requests that dont match a specific file to index.php. I'm just not sure about how exactly to go about implementing it and whether its actually advisable. Would really welcome any input/ideas people have got. Thanks.

  I want to use the itemDoubleClicked(QTreeWidgetItem*,int) signal in a Haskell program I'm writing where I am using qtHaskell for the GUI. To connect a function I have at other places done the following: dummyWidget <- myQWidget connectSlot object signal dummyWidget "customSlot()" $ f Where object is some QWidget and signal is a string giving the signal, e.g. "triggered()", and f is the function I want to be called when the signaled is send. The definition of connectSlot in the API is: class Qcs x where connectSlot :: QObject a -> String -> QObject b -> String -> x -> IO () where the instances ofQcs are: Qcs () Qcs (QObject c -> String -> IO ()) Qcs (QObject c -> Object d -> IO ()) Qcs (QObject c -> Bool -> IO ()) Qcs (QObject c -> Int -> IO ()) Qcs (QObject c -> IO ()) Qcs (QObject c -> OpenGLVersionFlag -> IO ()) The first Arguments passed is supposed to be the QObject of which I'm using a signal. As you can see, there is no instance where f, the function to connect to the signal, can have two further arguments to recieve the QWidget and the integer send by the signal. Is there a way to nevertheless connect that signal to a custom function?

• getting error as Internal Server error

  Hi There, When I try to run my site it gives error as Internal Server error, when I refresh the page I get my result properly.The error page looks like this: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I also checked error_log file on my server, it gives error as: [Sat Jun 12 01:21:55 2010] [error] [client 117.195.6.76] File does not exist: /home/rohit25/public_html/test/500.shtml, referer: http://www.test.mysite.com/home.php sometimes error can be; [Sat May 29 19:35:12 2010] [error] [client 97.85.189.208] File does not exist: /home2/carlton/public_html/test/favicon.ico Are there any changes required in configuration file, I also tried to involve this error code in custom error page, it shows error page, which could not resolve this issue. Your urgent help will be greatly appreciated.

• Logic for family tree program

  Hi All, I am creating a family tree program in Java, or at least trying to. I have developed several classes: Person - getters and setter for name gender age etc FamilyMember - extends Person getters and setters for setting arents and children Family - which consists of multiple family members and methods for adding removing members FamilyTree which is the main class for setting relationships. I have two main problems: 1) I need to set the relationships between people. Currently I am doing: FamilyMember A, FamilyMember B B.setMother(A); A.setChild(B); The example above is for setting a mother child relationship. This seems very clunky. Its getting very long winded to implement all relationships. Any ideas on how to implement multiple relationships in a less prodcedural way? 2) I have to be able to display the family tree. How can I do this? Are there any custom classes out there to make life easier? Thanks for your time...
