  • htaccess rewrite rule not loading site content

    - by peter
I am struggling with .htaccess rewrite rules. Let's say I have this URL. localhost/site/index.php and I want to rewrite it as this URL localhost/site/tutorial I would use this RewriteRule Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^tutorial/(.*)$ /up/index.php The page works, but the CSS files don't load. Also, if I have a URL like this: index.php?page=home Then I would have to parse through that URL to get 'home' not using $_GET anymore correct??

  • mediaelement.js control sizes are wrong when clip nested in a hidden element

    - by Martin Francis
It's a nasty one this. In an audio control placed within a container element whose display property is initially set to none, the audio clip does NOT correctly size the progress bar when it is initialised. This is clear when the container's display property is changed from 'none' to '' (which is equivalent to 'static'). But who would ever do that? I make extensive use of 'tabbed' display arrangements on community sites like this one: http://www.churchesInBracebridge.ca Owing to the page arrangement, the audio controls which you see under 'sermons' (which at the time of writing still using Flash rather than John's excellent library here) are initially rendered in a div that is hidden. Simplified Test case Rather than have anyone have to wade through all of that, here's a much simplified test case: http://jsfiddle.net/sJL6T/36 Here's the full page source for those who'd prefer to work with it that way. <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/> <title>MediaElementPlayer.js</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.9.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="http://mediaelementjs.com/js/mejs-2.13.1/mediaelement-and-player.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://mediaelementjs.com/js/mejs-2.13.1/mediaelementplayer.css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> function toggle(id){ document.getElementById(id).style.display= (document.getElementById(id).style.display=='none' ? '' : 'none'); } </script> </head> <body> <h1>MediaElementPlayer.js</h1> <h2 onclick="return toggle('test1')">Initially Hidden (Click to toggle)</h2> <div id='test1' style='display:none'> <audio controls="controls"> <source src="http://mediaelementjs.com/media/AirReview-Landmarks-02-ChasingCorporate.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /> </audio> </div> <h2 onclick="return toggle('test2')">Initially Shown (Click to toggle)</h2> <div id='test2' style=''> <audio controls="controls"> <source src="http://mediaelementjs.com/media/AirReview-Landmarks-02-ChasingCorporate.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /> </audio> </div> <script> $('audio').mediaelementplayer(); </script> </body> </html> Possible Workarounds Now I know that Google maps has the same quirk and there are two possible ways I've used to deal with that: Use absolute positioning in a displayed div to place the element 10,000px to the left then bring it onto the stage when we want to see it Have the map pane displayed when loading then hide it as soon as it's loaded (ugly I know, but it usually works) However either approach would be a pain to do, as I have a lot of legacy code using the simpler div hiding method. I know that JQuery can get the dimensions of an element event if it is hidden - someone thoughtfully fiddled that and it does work: http://jsfiddle.net/sJL6T/9 Perhaps it may be possible to modify the actual library to find correct dimensions, even if the container itself is hidden? That would be wonderful, if it can be done! Initial experiments on mediaelement-and-player.js code I found that when I provided a fixed value in the setControlsSize function for railWidth, I got consistent results with both controls in the test case above (and obviously I'm working with my own copy of the library to do that, not the one stored at mediaelementjs.com): // outer area rail.width(railWidth); Change to this: // outer area railWidth=216; rail.width(railWidth); Many thanks in anticipation! • Using JavaScript in WordPress: throw all jQuery plugins in, or is there a way to conditionally load?

    - by ineedtosleep
I'm relatively new with WordPress theming and JavaScript, though not incompetent with either. I'm looking to have a maximum of 10 jQuery plugins to go on the blog, but I'm wondering if there's a way to have them load only when needed, as I don't want any unnecessary loading for the users. Something similar in something I know a little bit more of would be the conditional comments in IE <!--[IF IE]> @import ie.css <![endif]-->.

Standards, remediation, cohesion...all fancy foreign words to me. ============== How am I supposed to deal with / filesystem full issues across multiple platforms that have a devastating number of mounts? On Red Hat el5, du -x apparently avoids traversal into other filesystems. While this may be so, it does not appear to do anything if run from the / directory. On Solaris 10, the equivalent flag is du -d, which apparently packs no surprises, allowing Sun to uphold its legacy of inconvenience effortlessly. (I'm hoping I've just been doing it wrong.) I offer up for sacrifice my Frankenstein's monster. Tell me how ugly it is. Tell me I should download forbidden 3rd party software. Tell me I should perform unauthorized coreutils updates, piecemeal, across 2000 systems, with no single sign-on, no authorized keys, and no network update capability. Then, please help me make this bastard better: pwd / du * | egrep -v "$(echo $(df | awk '{print $1 "\n" $5 "\n" $6}' | \ cut -d\/ -f2-5 | egrep -v "[0-9]|^$|Filesystem|Use|Available|Mounted|blocks|vol|swap")| \ sed 's/ /\|/g')" | egrep -v "proc|sys|media|selinux|dev|platform|system|tmp|tmpfs|mnt|kernel" | \ cut -d\/ -f1-2 | sort -k2 -k1,1nr | uniq -f1 | sort -k1,1n | cut -f2 | xargs du -shx | \ egrep "G|[5-9][0-9]M|[1-9][0-9][0-9]M" My biggest failure and regret is that it still requires a single character edit for Solaris: pwd / du * | egrep -v "$(echo $(df | awk '{print $1 "\n" $5 "\n" $6}' | \ cut -d\/ -f2-5 | egrep -v "[0-9]|^$|Filesystem|Use|Available|Mounted|blocks|vol|swap")| \ sed 's/ /\|/g')" | egrep -v "proc|sys|media|selinux|dev|platform|system|tmp|tmpfs|mnt|kernel" | \ cut -d\/ -f1-2 | sort -k2 -k1,1nr | uniq -f1 | sort -k1,1n | cut -f2 | xargs du -shd | \ egrep "G|[5-9][0-9]M|[1-9][0-9][0-9]M" This will exclude all non / filesystems in a du search from the / directory by basically munging an egrepped df from a second pipe-delimited egrep regex subshell exclusion that is naturally further excluded upon by a third egrep in what I would like to refer to as "the whale." The munge-fest frantically escalates into some xargs du recycling where -x/-d is actually useful, and a final, gratuitous egrep spits out a list of directories that almost feels like an accomplishment: Linux: 54M etc/gconf 61M opt/quest 77M opt 118M usr/ ##===\ 149M etc 154M root 303M lib/modules 313M usr/java ##====\ 331M lib 357M usr/lib64 ##=====\ 433M usr/lib ##========\ 1.1G usr/share ##=======\ 3.2G usr/local ##========\ 5.4G usr ##<=============Ascending order to parent 94M app/SIP ##<==\ 94M app ##<=======Were reported as 7gb and then corrected by second du with -x. Solaris: 63M etc 490M bb 570M root/cores.ric.20100415 1.7G oec/archive 1.1G root/packages 2.2G root 1.7G oec Guess what? It's really slow. • sIFR 3 r436: how to get really big fonts

    - by ploma
For some reason I can't seem to get sIFR to display fontsize larger than about 126 px. I've tried to change the MAX_FONT_SIZE found in sifr.js, but it's no use. I've also tried adjusting different fontsizes in the css, but it won't go higher than 126px. Does anybody know how to get sIFR to display a really large fontsize? -- Ploma --

  • Make VLC play all of a sound clip?

    - by bill weaver
In VLC 1.0.5, sound files (mp3 and wav) are not playing completely. I think the leading .1 sec and trailing .5 second, more or less, are not playing. I remember this behavior from some years ago, but am not sure the app or how i fixed it. Seems like there was some setting that was causing it to clip the sounds, but can't find or remember it. The Zune Software and Windows Media Player work fine. Windows 7 Pro, if it matters. Any suggestions?

The following code stringref = "tab_2"; jQuery('.someclass a:not(.someclass #a_someclass_'+stringref+')').css('color', '#000'); gives me this warning in the FF 3.5.5 error console and I can't figure out why: Warning: Missing closing ')' in negation pseudo-class '#a_someclass_tab_2'. Is my syntax failing me or has FF gone bonkers ?

  • Googlebot DNS error HostPapa

    - by Gravy
Received a message from Google Webmaster Tools: Over the last 24 hours, Googlebot encountered 2 errors while attempting to retrieve DNS information for your site. The overall error rate for DNS queries for your site is 40.0%. You can see more details about these errors in Webmaster Tools. Recommended action Contacted HostPapa and they deny that there is any issue with the site / server!!! Support in terms of what I can do to actually resolve this issue is non-existent!!!! The site is currently online. And I don't know much about DNS... so any advice about what I can do to resolve this problem would be much appreciated.

  • problem with jquery : minipulating val() property of element

    - by P4ul
    Hi, Please help! I have some form elements in a div on a page: <div id="box"> <div id="template"> <div> <label for="username">Username</label> <input type="text" class="username" name="username[]" value="" / > <label for="hostname">hostname</label> <input type="text" name="hostname[]" value=""> </div> </div> </div> using jquery I would like to take a copy of #template, manipulate the values of the inputs and insert it after #template so the result would look something like: <div id="box"> <div id="template"> <div> <label for="username">Username</label> <input type="text" class="username" name="username[]" value="" / > <label for="hostname">hostname</label> <input type="text" name="hostname[]" value=""> </div> </div> <div> <label for="username">Username</label> <input type="text" class="username" name="username[]" value="paul" / > <label for="hostname">hostname</label> <input type="text" name="hostname[]" value="paul"> </div> </div> I am probably going about this the wrong way but the following test bit of javascript code run in firebug on the page does not seem to change the values of the inputs. var cp = $('#template').clone(); cp.children().children().each( function(i,d){ if( d.localName == 'INPUT' ){ $(d).val('paul'); //.css('background-color', 'red'); } }); $("#box").append(cp.html()); although if I uncomment "//.css('background-color', 'red');" the inputs will turn red.

  • How do you test if a PCI slot is working - motherboard diagnostic software?

    - by Adam
I suspect that my motherboard is bad, and that my PCI-E slot is not working. I have a Gigabyte motherboard that had a Hauppage 2250 working fine in the PCI-E slot for many months. However - recently - would not get TV channels that I used to get --- until finally Media center cant detect any channels at all. Got a new tuner card (ATI 350 card) - cant detect any channels. The cable signal is good - I have it connected directly to a TV - all channels come in clear. SO that is why I suspect a motherboard problem. Are there any motherboard diagnostic scanner utilities that can verify I need a new motherboard

  • Need to use DART, can't access windows at all

    - by Jack
I have an install of windows server R2. After installing two patches, the system is stuck in a reboot loop. I wish to uninstall these patches to revert my stsem to normal. I have looked at dism, but it does not seem to provide a way to uninstall specific MSP patches. I don't believe I can utilize msiexec in WinRE to uninstall the patches. And so, I believe DART is what I need, which will allow me to uninstall specific patches. However, I cannot access my install of windows at all, which is what is apparently needed to make the dart media. Is there any way around this?

I tried googling this many times, and I always get pages relating to customizing the built-in TextField with CSS etc.

Each of the tips_trigger-classes seems to work the script independatly. What I mean by that is if I click tips_trigger in the first row, it displays the tool-tip. If i click tips_trigger in the second row straight after, it displays the tool-tip again. I have to click the exact same tips_trigger-class istance twice for it to hide it. How can I overcome this problem? 2. Each of the "..._trigger"-classes will have a tool-tip, not just ".tips_trigger". Is there a way to alter my current script so that it works for multiple unhides/hides instead of writing one script per class? Kind regards, Marius

  • Amarok on Ubuntu 9.10 rapidly skipping tracks

    - by danwoods
Hello all. Subject really says it all. When I try to click on any track, Amarok rapidly moves through the playlist, pulling external information (wikipedia etc) for each song, but not playing it. I feel like it might be a problem with my sound card or driver or something, but all other media players work fine. I can play sounds from within Amarok when I test different sound devices (they all play). I removed the program and re-installed it and still no luck. Any ideas?

  • What type of malware can reside in windows restore?

    - by qwertymk
I was reading aking1012's comment on How to create Windows Vista/Windows 7 Startup disk or Rescue disk or system restore points on a CD? . He says that: The first thing I usually do is disable system restore. Some REALLY nasty malware hides in there and is very difficult to delete. As far as rescue media, I make a full backup image. It doesn't directly address the question so it's a comment not an answer, but I thought it was worth noting What type of malware can hide there, and how is that possible as the restore info must be stored with a checksome to make sure it's not modified, right?
