  • Can we you the attached properties in C# class library?

    Hi I have implemented the Observer Pattern with lazy load. The class that requests the data from the database is a singleton class. Now I am able to load the data from one database (located in one datacenter) very easily. But I need to get the data from other data centers too and display on the same UI. I can somehow pass the address of second data center and fetch the data from there also. But once I will get the data from second data center, it will be added to earlier list only. So later it will be thought for me to distinguish between the data. So I thought of attaching a property with the result set, so that while displaying the output I can show the data for both the data centers separately but on the same UI. I thought of attached property as an option where I can attach the data center name with the list of the data obtained. How is it possible to do in C#? Thanks Manas

  • Exception while trying to deserialize JSON into EntityFramework using JavaScriptSerializer

    I'm trying to deserialize JSON which I'm getting from an external source into an Entity Framework entity class using the following code: var serializer = new JavaScriptSerializer(); IList<Feature> obj = serializer.Deserialize<IList<Feature>>(json); The following exception is thrown: Object of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List1[JustTime.Task]' cannot be converted to type 'System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.EntityCollection1[JustTime.Task]'. My model is simple: The Feature class has a one-to-many relation to the Tasks class. The problem appears to be the deserializer is trying to create a generic List to hold the collection of tasks instead of an EntityCollection. I've tried implementing a JavaScriptConverted which would handle System.Collections.Generic.List but it didn't get called by the deserializer.

  • construct graph from python set type.

    The sort question, is the an off the self function to make a graph from a set of python sets? The longer: I have several python set types. They each overlap or some are sub sets of others. I would like to make a graph (as in nodes and edges) with the edges weighted by common intersection of the sets. There are several graphing packages for python. (NetworkX, igraph,...) I am not familiar with the use of any of them. Will any of them make a graph directly from a list of sets ie, MakeGraphfromSets(alistofsets) If not do you know of an example of how to take the list of sets to define the edges. It actually looks like it might be straight forward but an example is always good to have.

  • Python 2.6, 3 abstract base class misunderstanding

    I'm not seeing what I expect when I use ABCMeta and abstractmethod. This works fine in python3: from abc import ABCMeta, abstractmethod class Super(metaclass=ABCMeta): @abstractmethod def method(self): pass a = Super() TypeError: Can't instantiate abstract class Super ... And in 2.6: class Super(): __metaclass__ = ABCMeta @abstractmethod def method(self): pass a = Super() TypeError: Can't instantiate abstract class Super ... They both also work fine (I get the expected exception) if I derive Super from object, in addition to ABCMeta. They both "fail" (no exception raised) if I derive Super from list. I want an abstract base class to be a list but abstract, and concrete in sub classes. Am I doing it wrong, or should I not want this in python?

    I think I know what the answer to this question is probably going to be, but I thought I'd go ahead and ask it anyway. It appears that within NHibernate if I do something like this: IList<Customer> customers = Session.CreateCriteria(typeof(Customer)) .Add(Restrictions.Eq("Name", "Steve") .List<Customer>(); And I want to then delete that list of customers. From what I can tell the only way to do it is like this: foreach(var customer in customers) { Session.Delete(customer); } But what I'm wondering is if there's any way I can just go: Session.Delete(customers); And delete the entire collection with a single call?

    I've been toying around with nodejs for some of my COMET stuff and stumbled across Socket.io. Unfortunately, the documentation is fairly lacking and there is only one "real" example. Is anyone familiar with some decent tutorials on some of the intricacies of this library? Maybe just some better docs? I'd really like to use it, but I'm probably going to avoid it if I can't figure how to use it properly.

    I have a list of keywords, and I've created a checkbox for each. My template has a form wrapping the content, so I can't have a nested form around the checkbox list. How can I send the selected checkbox values to my search results page?   • Android Extend BaseExpandableListAdapter

    I am trying to extend the BaseExpandableListAdapter, however when once I view the list and I select one of the elements to expand, the order of the list gets reversed. For example, if I have a list with 4 elements and select the 1st element, the order (from top to bottom) is now 4, 3, 2, 1 with the 4th element (now at the top) expanded. If I unexpand the 4th element the order reverts to 1, 2, 3, 4 with no expanded elements.     As an example, assume the following simple model: public class Order { public List<LineItem> LineItems { get; set; } public List<Fee> Fees { get; set; } } public class LineItem { } public class Fee { } With RIA Services, if I want to retrieve an Order and include all of it's line items in the same network call, I can statically place an [Include] attribute on the above LineItems collection. This works great for a single scenario, but what happens when I need multiple "include strategies"? For instance, one situation might call for including the Fees collection and NOT the LineItems collection. Is there any way with RIA Services to control what's included at runtime without redefining your model and/or creating dtos with the attributes statically placed for each use-case?

  • ruby1.9.1 can't find installed gems, yet ruby1.8 can...

    On ubuntu here. I installed both ruby1.8 and ruby1.9.1. I also ran these commands ruby1.8 setup.rb ruby1.9.1 setup.rb Both worked fine, I was also able to install gems for both. The gems in gem 1.9.1 and gem1.8 both show up correctly for gem list. The problems however begin with this: ruby1.9.1 some_script.rb. It cannot find any of the gems. I tried uncommenting some out figuring that parseconfig was the problem, yet it couldn't find any of the others, which are definetly in gem1.9.1 list. Any thoughts as to what is causing this/how to recover?

  • View controller/NIB architecture for non-navigation application with transitions?

    I'm tinkering with an app that doesn't use the UINavigation root view control system, so I don't have natural ownership for each app "view". I essentially have two basic views, a document list view, and a document edit view. I'm playing with UIView animation for getting from a selected document to the edit view. I also have a toolbar that exists in both "views". Because I don't have UINavigation running the show for me, I have a tendency to just throw more and more stuff into one NIB and one view controller that owns the whole container. But now I'm trying to figure out how to segue from the document list view to the edit view if the edit view lives inside a different NIB, preserving the toolbar too. Anyone have thoughts or experience on app structures like this? I find the docs lacking on best practices around code/UI structure for anything except trivial one-screen apps or full-on navigation apps. Thanks!

  • Eliminating matching values in a SQL result set

    I have a table with a list of transactions (invoices and credits) and I need to get a list of all the rows where the invoices and credits don't match up. eg user product value bill ThingA 200 jim ThingA -200 sue ThingB 100 liz ThingC 50 I only want to see the third and fourth rows, as the values of the others match off. I can do this if I select product, sum(value) ... group by product having sum(value) < 0 which works well, but I want to return the user name as well. As soon as I add the user to the select, I need to group by it as well, which messes it up as the amounts don't match up by user AND product. Any ideas ? I am using MS SQL 2000... Cheers

    Hi all, I am using Apache Ant to generate Javadoc for my program which has many projects(or modules). However, I just want to generate Javadoc for Interfaces ONLY and I do not know how to check if a file is a class or interface in Ant. Someone suggested me that I should use and specify a list of files to exclude or include. However, there are hundreds of files in my program and specifying a list of class files to exclude is impossible. Does anyone have some ideas, please?

I could do GetType() but I d rather avoid that, I dont actually want to know the type of the object I want to know if a property (or method if that makes life easier) is available Any pointers?     I am building a project in asp.net 4.0. My navigation will be database driven where i return a datatable from the db containing all the pages of my site, some will be top level while others will be children and sometimes children of children n-times. Im thinking of going down the nested repeater route and databinding from code behind, dynamically generating repeaters for children, but have read that this is not a best practice and should consider the listview control. Im wanting to build a list of links using an unordered list. I cannot find a solid example and was hoping for some pointers/ideas. Thanks Doo
