    Hi, I use Palm Treo 750 running Windows mobile 6.1. I don't have GPRS on my mobile. But, I have Broadband connection in my laptop running Windows Vista. How can I use the PC's internet connection to browse from mobile (either USB or bluetooth)? I have done this in one of my previous Windows mobiles (Smart Phone 2003 SE). Thanks in advance guys.   • slow pppoe connection using Ubuntu 9.10

    I have a Compaq Presario CQ61, instaled Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows 7 on it. It works great except the PPPoE connection in Ubuntu, when i dial in Windows my download speed reach up to 91 Mb, rebooted in Ubuntu, downloaded same file from the same server with a speed of maximum 3 Mb, cheked in Windows again 80 - 90 Mb constant. I can't figure what slow's the internet connection in Ubuntu. Anyone has an ideea on this problem ? (NO iptables configured, NO HTB, CBQ ...etc configured) . Thank you

    Development of the free application Putty Connection Manager that can display more than one Putty sessions stopped in 2009, and it sometimes triggers this error when I double-click on any host in the right hand-side list: PuTTY Connection Manager/An unexpected error occured : Object reference not set to an instance of an object.. When that happens, I have to reboot :-/ Does someone know of an alternative? Thank you.

    Hi, I want to connect to the SSH server on my jailbreaked iPhone via the USB connection (because that connection is much faster than WLAN) from MacOSX. Right now I am using this: http://novis.jimdo.com/2009/10/18/ssh-relay-aka-iphone-tunnel-version-3/ However, this is really buggy and always breaks when I am transfering a lot of data. Does anyone know a better solution? Preferable one that is free.

  • Connection error when trying to browse SSAS cube in BIDS

    SQL Server 2008 db instance is installed on a win 2003 server, networked (but no domain) VM. I can browse a cube from BIDS on the same VM, but when I try to browse the same cube on a windows 7 (home premium) networked machine, I get a connection error. The error suggests checking the datasource settings which I have, and when I click "test connection" on the datasource it is successful. Looking for probably causes and solutions?

    Hi, I am trying to control a desktop (HTPC) using my laptop. I currently use Teamviewer, but it is pretty slow. I used to use window remote desktop connection and it was pretty fast. The problem with window remote desktop connection is that it does not support realtime. By "Realtime", I mean it does not display what I am doing on the computer being controlled. Any suggestions?

    When working from Windows, I prefer to use RoyalTS instead of the default Microsoft RDP client, because it allows me to save multiple connections, the credentials of the connection, etc; as well has having more than 1 connection open at a time. Is there a similar (or any) alternative to the Microsoft RDP client for connecting from OSX to Windows? Aside from VNC, that is; at this point I'm hoping to continue using the RDP protocol.

    Hi I have no idea on this problem. My wireless connection doesn't work sometimes. I find it's due to my XP and I have no problem with my Win 7 machine. The problem is - Internet Connection a bit slower than usual Limit connectivity issue I use netsh reset for resetting network configurations but it helps sometimes or not help at all. Any ideas?     When I am trying to connect to a MySQL database from a remote computer I get a prompt saying: Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't Connect to MySQL server on 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' (10060) I have created a user account in the MySQL Administrator and added a host to enable remote access, I have also made an exception for my Windows Firewall on port 3306 but the connection still fails. What is the problem? Thanks!

    We are expecting a large number of users to hit a Website built with IIS/.Net 4.0 that our SQL Server 2008 database server is providing data for. The database is around 2GB in size. We are contemplating increasing the MAX CONNECTION POOL to between 500 to 1000 -- to handle the estimated traffic. Two questions (1) Does anyone have any hard performance numbers indicating the kind of improvement this may provide? (2) What is the impact of hitting that MAX CONNECTION POOL number in a production enviroment?

  • OpenSwan + xl2tpd VPN: How can I share Internet connection

    I have an OpenSwan IPSec + L2TP VPN on Linux setup working from off of my server so I can connect to it from my laptop (roadwarrior setup). I am able to connect to the VPN remotely just fine, however the internet connection is not shared. I'm assuming there is some sort of masquerading I am supposed to be doing, but I have no idea how to go about doing that (iptables?). Any help getting this working so I can essentially use my VPN connection as a proxy would be great. Thanks

I'm trying to determine if the application is re-using it's connection to the SQL server or is creating new connections on a regular basis. Using SQL Profiler I've audited for login events, but that appears to generate an event every time a SQL statement is executed even with apps that I know are maintaining their connection to SQL.

    Hi, Windows 7 is a great OS but there are some problems which should be solved from Microsoft as fast as possible. On my Computer the LAN connection randomly loses its connection. I don't know why but I think this problem depends on my network driver which is only available for Windows XP (where it always worked perfectly). I can not reproduce this issue.     Does anyone know why my WiFi connection suddenly keeps disconnecting, and will not re-connect without a boot? I looked at other questions, but the OS is different and its not regular. Also the only answer there is not useful. I have had this connection for about 2 weeks with no problems, but suddenly, yesterday, it happened a few times and today it has happened at least 8 times so far.     Based on the results of this post, I'm trying to install Windows SteadyState on a bunch of computers with no internet connection (but all with legitimate copies of windows XP pro). The problem is that the installer asks to be connected to the Windows Genuine Advantage server, and I can't manage that. Is there a workaround? I can use internet at my home, but cannot have the school install and pay for a connection. Maybe there's another program that would work just as well?
