  • Place images byte into String is not working?

    I tried on Flex 3, facing issue with uploading JPG/PNG image, trace readUTFBytes would return correct bytes length but tmpFileContent is trucated, it would only appear to have upload just 3 characters of data to the server through PHP script which made image unusable. I have no issue for non-images format. What is wrong here? var tmpFileContent:String = fileRef.data.readUTFBytes(fileRef.data.length); Is String capable of handle bytes?

  • Why does Flash Builder 4 use Flash Player instead of a browser to run apps?

    I've got an old flex builder 3 project that I imported into Flash Builder 4, and I want this project to run its web applications in my web browser. However, the apps persistently run in the Flash Player instead. This is causing no end of problems because of the flash player bug documented at https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-209. How can I make a project's apps run in the browser instead of the player?

  • AS3 Flex masks with black background from png bitmap

    Hi all What I am trying to achieve might be trivial, however I am loading a PNG mask which does not have a transparent background, but rather a black background, with the shape defined on top in white (the actual mask which needs to be applied). Apparently Flex expects me to provide a mask with a transparent background for it to work, or am I missing something? If that's the case, could I transform the bitmapData which I am loading so that it treats black color as transparent? thanks in advance.

    Hey, I'm trying to create a Flex DataGrid where the firstname and lastname are shown under each other, but in the DataGridColumn Ideally I would want to do something like <mx:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Column 2" dataField="time"/> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Column 2" dataField="firstname,lastname" itemRenderer="renderers.FirstNameLastName"/> so that both values get passed to the itemrenderer, is this possible? So on the compile phase I'm getting org.apache.maven.plugin.MojoExecutionException: Error compiling! with no information on where (on what source file) the error happens and what is nature of the compile error. I'll appreciate if anyone can instruct me on how to make flexmojos-maven-plugin print more information about compile errors.

  • Reducing width of bar chart series

    Note: by width i mean the height here, I use width because by default, bar charts are vertical and flex uses the width property I want to reduce the width of the following barchart so Type 5, Type 4, Type 3, Type 2, Type 1 are very close to each other. I tried playing with the barWidthRatio, the horizontalAxisRatio and the maxBarWidth properties. Neither is giving me the desired result. I can only manage to reduce the width of the orange bars, how do I reduce the width of the blue bars?

  • Can I rename Main.mxml?

    We have several Flash objects included in our project. We call each one a specific type of widget... For readability/debugging purposes I'd like to rename Main.mxml to something else. At first this seemed easy, as it would be just a setting in our maven configuration (we're using flex mojos to build our swf). However; changing the sourceFile from Main.mxml to MyWidget.mxml doesn't seem to do it. Any thoughts?

When I run the FlexPMD to do the code review , it generates objection about the dynamic type object used in method signature "public function getFormattedCreatedTime(item:Object, column:DataGridColumn):String", it suggests to use strongly type object.
