  • Is there anyway to configure Google account for Windows 8 Sync?

    Recently upgraded to Windows 8. The problem is a lot of Sync features requires Microsoft account to linked. Even though I have one, I don't want to spare one for Sync purpose. Additionally, Google-Chrome's sync feature is absolutely charming. So I prefer Google for storing my data. So, 1) Is there anyway to replace Microsoft Sync with other accounts by patching or modifying any byte? 2) I want to replace Maps, Weather, and all possible apps with Google. I've see Mail can be done. What are the all other possible Metro apps?

  • Automatically Log off Google when logging in using Google OpenID?

    I use Google as my OpenID provider. Once you log into a website with Google's OpenID I am then logged into Google as well. I do not desire this. Can I somehow automatically log off my Google account, or prevent Google from logging in every time I use my Google OpenID? I prefer not to have my personal google account always logged in. It's not a big deal going to gmail and clicking log off, but if there is a simpler way that would be good. Note to admins: this is not just for stack overflow, please don't close the question.

    I have a wireless internet connection through BSNL. I have a windows 7 ultimate, and using latest Google chrome. During night time ie from 12:30 am onwards till around 5:30 am, I have the following problem: Only the following webpages load: Google Search Google images and all related to google product pages like you see them on the google home page. Blogspot webpages as supported through Google. Any other site loading gets stuck with the status message:- Waiting for www.thaturl.com .... And it goes on and on. Why does this happen? I checked around googling for this but no solution at all. By the way I tried changing my dns addresses too sometimes from automatically to opendns and then Google public dns. I need some solution which might help me to load other websites also. Thanks in advance.

  • Bing maps silverlight control pushpin scaling problems.

    Baiscally my problem is that i've adapted a piece of code found here http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vemapcontroldev/thread/62e70670-f306-4bb7-8684-549979af91c1 which does exactly what I want it to do, that is scale some pushpin images according to the map's zoom level. The only problem is that I've adapted this code to run with the bing maps silverlight control (not virtual earth like in the original example) and now the images scale correclty, but they are repositioned and only reach the desired position when my zoom level is maximum. Any idea why? Help will be greatly appreciated :) Modified code below: var layer = new MapLayer(); map.AddChild(layer); //Sydney layer.AddChild(new Pin { ImageSource = new BitmapImage(new Uri("pin.png", UriKind.Relative)), MapInstance = map }, new Location(-33.86643, 151.2062), PositionMethod.Center); becomes something like layer.AddChild(new Pin { ImageSource = new BitmapImage(new Uri("pin.png", UriKind.Relative)), MapInstance = map }, new Location(-33.92485, 18.43883), PositionOrigin.BottomCenter); I am assuming it has something to do with a different way in which bing maps anchors its UIelements.   • COM-Objects containing maps / content error(0)

    I'm writing a small wrapper to get familiar with some important topics in C++ (WinAPI, COM, STL,OOP). For now, my class shall be able to create a (child) window. Mainly, this window is connected to a global message loop that distribute messages to a local loop of the right instance (global is static, local is virtual). Obviously, there are surely better ways to do that but I'm using std::maps to store HWND and their instance pointer in pairs (the Global loop looks for the pointer with the HWND-parameter, gets itself the pointer from the map and calls then the local loop). Now, it appears that the map does not accept any values because of a unknown reason. It seems to allocate enough space but something went wrong anyway [ (error) 0 is displayed instead of the entries in visual C++). I've looked that up in google as well and found out that maps cause some trouble when used in classes AND DLLs. May this be the reason and is there any solution?? I would like to achieve the same result that I get from using GroundOverlay in KML files, such as <GroundOverlay> <name>myimage</name> <Icon> <href>myimage.png</href> <viewBoundScale>0.75</viewBoundScale> </Icon> <LatLonBox> <north>75.6088</north> <south>5.0121</south> <east>182.2805</east> <west>120.6795</west> </LatLonBox> </GroundOverlay> The above will ensure that the 4 corners of my image stay anchored to the 4 lat/long points listed, regardless of scrolling, zooming etc.. Is there a way to accomplish this using the google api/maps provided for android?

  • Google Maps in Drupal: reference to gmap object from JavaScript

    Is there a way to obtain JavaScript references to the Google maps that are embedded into Drupal pages by the GMap module? I want to be able to manipulate the maps in these pages. I want to pan and zoom them. But I cannot find a reference to an embedded map object. I've dissected the relevant JavaScript objects Drupal.gmap and Drupal.settings.gmap with no success--unless I've overlooked something. The Drupal GMap module doesn't seem to explicitly provide references (within its API) to the GMap objects that it embeds into pages. It just generates themed text which is interpolated into the page. The technique of passing the HTML ID of the map container to either the GMap2 object constructor or the similar Drupal.gmap.getMap() function in order to obtain a map reference doesn't appear to work: Both simply return an instance to a new map, one having the same dimensions and basic characteristics of the original map, but apparently sans all of its overlays (which could contain markers). And I have to call setCenter() on it before I can use it, which initializes the structure, so I know it has no overlays.

    Hi I'm using the Bing Maps control to display a series of custom pushpins, representing objects which are constantly moving around and changing state. Using databinding the various properties for the objects are being updated as they should, but for some reason this doesn't apply to their locations. I have the map bound to an ObservableCollection as such: <UserControl.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="PushpinTemplate"> <v:CustomPushpin /> </DataTemplate> </UserControl.Resources> ... <m:Map Name="map"> <m:MapItemsControl ItemTemplate="{StaticResource PushpinTemplate}" ItemsSource="{Binding Objects}" /> </m:Map> ...and in CustomPushpin: <UserControl ... m:MapLayer.Position="{Binding Location}" m:MapLayer.PositionOrigin="BottomCenter" mc:Ignorable="d" d:DesignHeight="126" d:DesignWidth="85"> Like all other properties, the Location of the individual objects are implemented using INotifyPropertyChanged. private Location _location; public Location Location { get { return _location; } set { _location = value; OnPropertyChanged("Location"); } } When the map is moving, either because of panning or zooming, the objects move, but othersize not. I can't quite figure if I'm doing something wrong here, or if it's a problem with the Bing Maps control. Any thought?

I found that Google is displaying player code in search result content. For example, enter this URL in Google and check the results. Each result displays a .mp3 file in content section.     I owned two website. Let's say as example www.first.com and www.second.com. I have two apps in Google chrome-store whose app URL is: app1 URL = www.first.com/currency_converter.php app2 URL = www.first.com/currency_converter.php respectively. Currently if user lunch/click on first app URL then I am forwarding them to my first website homepage (www.first.com), where I have AdSense code with currency converter app. In this way I am generating Google ad impression and traffic for my first website (i.e www.first.com).   • How could I manage Google Adsense to approve my Web App? It keeps denying it

    Google adsense keeps denying my app from having ads, because of an "insufficient content" issue. I manage a Web Application that allows the users to set Youtube Videos as Alarm Clocks. It includes an in-site Youtube search to retrieve videos from user queries and lists the users alarms. The site has a good traffic (500 users per day), is currently promoted by Google in Google Chrome Webstore, and the ajax requests are crawlable, following Google's guidelines (https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/). Although I understand there is not much content, beyond the user-generated, I really don't what else should I include in the site. Perhaps adding contact and about pages, and maybe another section would increase the navigation. Google argues I need a "fully launched and functioning site, allowing users to navigate throughout your site with a menu, sitemap, or appropiate links". They also ask for "full sentences or paragraphs" Isn't a Google Adsense solutions for Web Applications? Would all the web-apps have to include useless navigable subpages?
