    - by user556673
    I've an ajax request which will happen in every 5 seconds. But the problem is before the ajax request if the previous request is not completed I've to abort that request and make a new request. My code is something like this, how to resolve this issue? $(document).ready( var fn = function(){ $.ajax({ url: 'ajax/progress.ftl', success: function(data) { //do something } }); }; var interval = setInterval(fn, 500); ); Thank you.

  • GLOBAL loading inside each single button with Jquery in ajax calls of asp.net mvc

    - by Ricky
    I have the following scenario: I have a button\link with a image inside like this: <button type="submit" id="myButton" class="button"><img src="../../Content/images/check.png" id="defaultImage" /> SaveData!!!</button> We are OK here! Now what I need to do is: I want on the click that the image change for a loading element that is previously loaded in the page like this: <img id="loadingImage" src="../../Content/images/loader.gif" style="display: none;" alt="loading"/> And then when the load complete turn back the old button image, I ended with this code: function loader() { var $button = $('#myButton'); if (btnState == '1') { $button.find('img').hide(); $button.prepend($('#loadingImage')); $('#loadingImage').css({ 'display': 'inherit' }); btnState = '0'; } else { $button.find('img').hide(); $button.prepend($('#defaultImage')); $('#defaultImage').show(); btnState = '1'; } } This does the trick for ONE SINGLE button(since I pass its ID in the function) but, when I have for example a grid with a button on each line, I found inviable when managing a screen with many buttons do this for each of then. The main question is: How can I make this method general for all buttons/links on one specific class in the page? The goal is: Click a button, get the image and change it and stop(can be manual). I just don't wanna have to Hook ALL buttons.

  • jQuery Equal Height Divs

    - by griegs
    If i have the following harkup; <div> <div> <div id='sameHeight'>One<br>two<br>three</div> <div id='sameHeight'>four</div> <div id='sameHeight'>five</div> <div> <div> <div id='sameHeight'>four</div> <div id='sameHeight'>six</div> <div id='sameHeight'>seven<br>eight</div> <div> </div> How can I ensure that all divs marked as "sameHeight" are the same height as their counterparts in the other div? I had a look at equalHeights plugin but that assumes all divs side by side are in the same parent. I need one that can either traverse parents or allow me to specify parents. Is there such a thing or do I need to write it?

  • jquery ui.sortable with tooltips

    - by FFish
    On a page I have a sortable list with thumbnails. When rolling over the images I wanted a tooltip to show a bigger image. I found qTip, but maybe there is something better / easier? How can I connect the imgPath var from the sortable to the qtip? var imgPath = '<img src="002171/imm/001.jpg" />'; $("#sortable").sortable(); $("#sortable").disableSelection(); $('#sortable li img').qtip({ content: { text: imgPath } }); <div id="demo"> <ul id="sortable"> <li><img src="002171/tn/001.jpg" /></li> <li><img src="002171/tn/002.jpg" /></li> <li><img src="002171/tn/003.jpg" /></li> </ul> </div>

  • jQuery event.stopPropagation is not working on <a>

    - by HorusKol
    I have the following javascript: $('#ge-display').click(function (event) { window.open('/googleearth/ge-display.php','','scrollbars=yes,menubar=no,height=650,width=1000,resizable=yes,toolbar=yes,location=no,status=no'); event.stopPropagation(); return false; }); the element with id 'ge-display' is a standard link: <a href="/googleearth/ge-display.php" id="ge-display" target="_blank">Load Google Earth Plugin (in a new window)</a> The problem is - when I take out the 'return false;' line from the click event handler, the javascript popup opens, and then another browser window opens - I thought stopPropagation() would prevent the links own click handler? I've also tried stopImmediatePropagation() - but I still need to return false to stop the default behaviour of the link.

  • JQuery Datatable Question: Centering column data after data insertion

    - by Chris
    I have a data table that is initially empty and is populated after a particular Javascript call. After the data is inserted into the table, I'd like to center all of the data in one of the columns. I tried specifying this at the initialization step in this way: dTable = $('#dt').datatable({ 'aoColumns': [ null, null, { "sClass" : "center" }] }); The data in the third column was not centered after the insertions were complete. I tried modifying aoColumns after the insertions and redrawing the table as well: dTable.fnSettings().aoColumns[2].sClass = "center"; dTable.fnDraw(); This did not work either. So my question is simply how should I go about telling the data table to center the data in the third column? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Chris

  • Complicated jQuery .hover Work

    - by Paul Herz
    The following code is giving me a lot of trouble. To note, .hover changes the background image. Firstly, how can I combine the two with .hover rather than a separate mouseenter and mouseleave? Second, How can I make it so that while the div is shifting upwards, the background image is simultaneously fading? $('div.designbox.orangehello').mouseenter(function() { $('div.designbox.orangehello').animate({ top: '-=10', }, 55, function() { $(this).addClass('hover'); }); }); $('div.designbox.orangehello').mouseleave(function() { $('div.designbox.orangehello').animate({ top: '+=10', }, 55, function() { $(this).removeClass('hover'); }); });

  • JQuery UI: Accordion callbacks

    - by user177215
    I need my javascript to only do the callback when I OPEN a section on the accordion, as of right now it does a callback when I open OR close a section because I'm only using a click function. Is there a way I can modify my existing click function to only run when the given section is activated? My current click function: $("a#mimetypes").click(function() { $("span#mimetypesthrobber").loading(true, { max: 1500 }) $.getJSON("../mimetypes", function(data) { //callback }); }); Thanks! EDIT: I already tried this with another part of the accordion and it wasn't working properly: $('.ui-accordion').bind('accordionchange', function(event, ui) { if (ui.newHeader == "Encoders") { EncodersGet(); } });

  • jQuery - Animation Causes Div Overlap IE7

    - by Norbert
    I have a hidden div (#contactArea) above another div. When I click the link, the #contactArea opens up. When I click it again, it closes back up. It all works nicely, except in IE7. The two divs are transparent, so they overlap. I have no idea why this happens, or why doesn't it happen on other browsers. It just about feels like IE7 is right on this one. Any way to fix this? $(document).ready(function(){ $("#contactArea").css('display', 'none'); $("a.contact").toggle(function() { $("#contactArea").animate({height: "show"}, 1500, "easeOutBounce"); }, function() { $("#contactArea").animate({height: "hide"}, 1500, "easeOutBounce"); }); });

  • jquery stop image slider when accordian menu is closed

    - by Nik
    http://jsbin.com/emoba5/3/edit click here to view demo This accordion menu/image slider works well except - When the page loads and when all accordion menu items are closed I need it to show a single image on right. At the moment the page loads a blank picture area and when an accordion menu item is closed it just restarts that menu items picture slider. (So on page load and when all accordions are closed I need it default to an image on the right.) Some of the items only have 1 picture i.e. posture 3 you will notice when you click on it, it shows the image and then goes blank, can it just fade the image in and leave it there if there is only 1 image? Thanks to aSeptik for his help so far, feel free to make a revision of the posted code. Thanks guys Nik

  • jquery checkbox help

    - by sea_1987
    The Problem I am trying to run some ajax on one my pages for my website, basically I have three checkboxes all of which on pageload are unselected, when a checkbox is clicked I need to be able load in via ajax the relevant HTML. This system is currently a PHP script that depending on what the POST is set returns a different view, so I think all I need to is send the POST via AJAX, but I need to do everytime a new checkbox is checked. My HTML looks like this, div class="segment"> <div class="label"> <label>Choose region: </label> </div> <div class="column w190"> <div class="segment"> <div class="input"> <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" class="radio checked" value="Y" name="area[Nationwide]" id="inp_Nationwide"> </div> <div class="label "> <label for="inp_Nationwide">Nationwide</label> </div> <div class="s">&nbsp;</div> </div> </div> <div class="column w190"> <div class="segment"> <div class="input"> <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" class="radio checked" value="Y" name="area[Lancashire]" id="inp_Lancashire"> </div> <div class="label "> <label for="inp_Lancashire">Lancashire</label> </div> <div class="s">&nbsp;</div> </div> </div> <div class="column w190"> <div class="segment"> <div class="input"> <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" class="radio" value="Y" name="area[West_Yorkshire]" id="inp_West_Yorkshire"> </div> <div class="label "> <label for="inp_West_Yorkshire">West Yorkshire</label> </div> <div class="s">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div class="s">&nbsp;</div> </div> </div> My current attempt was to ascertain whether the input has been clicked so I have done this with my javascript, though this is probably wrong, $('input.radio').click(function(){ if($(this).hasClass('clicked')) { $(this).removeClass('clicked'); } else { $(this).addClass('clicked'); } });

  • jQuery hover function

    - by Daniel Hertz
    So I have a hover function that is supposed to move an arrow under the corrent the link that someone hovers over. The problem is, the arrow never returns to the current link when the person stops hovering over the link. However, if I set the left properly with a constant value it works. Anyone have any ideas? var currentId = '#' + $('body').attr('id') + '_link'; var xCordCurrent = $(currentId).offset().left - ($('#arrow').width() / 2); var xCordHover = $(event.target).offset().left + ($(event.target).width() / 2) - ($('#arrow').width() / 2); $('#arrow').animate( { left: xCordHover }, { duration: 'slow', easing: 'easeOutBack' }) }, function(event) { $('#arrow').animate( { left: xCordCurrent }, { duration: 'slow', easing: 'easeOutBack' }) });
