    It looks like someone gained access to my server. How I can find out which Apache vHosts this log is related to?     I want to allow users to control the em1 device in Linux: When I run this command: ifdown em1 em1 is the embedded ethernet card 1, I want the user to be able to turn off the ethernet card. On Fedora 17, I get this error message: Users cannot control this device I want a certain user to be able to run a certain command on Linux without giving rights to other users. What is the best way to do that?

  • Do you have problems with fonts in FireFox on big screens ??

    The problem is only in FF on bigger screens than 17" ,sometimes bigger than 22" monitors . I don't know why this happens, usually the problem is reported on windows vista and windows 7. Yes, I try the ctrl + 0 ,but that doesn't work . Can someone look at that page http://redmoonstudio.eu and tell mi what happens ? The page is in test/development.

  • VPC SSH port forward into private subnet

    Ok, so I've been racking my brain for DAYS on this dilema. I have a VPC setup with a public subnet, and a private subnet. The NAT is in place of course. I can connect from SSH into a instance in the public subnet, as well as the NAT. I can even ssh connect to the private instance from the public instance. I changed the SSHD configuration on the private instance to accept both port 22 and an arbitrary port number 1300. That works fine. But I need to set it up so that I can connect to the private instance directly using the 1300 port number, ie. ssh -i keyfile.pem [email protected] -p 1300 and 1.2.3.4 should route it to the internal server 10.10.10.10. Now I heard iptables is the job for this, so I went ahead and researched and played around with some routing with that. These are the rules I have setup on the public instance (not the NAT).   • Error 22 no such partition on adding a SSD

    I'm trying to add a second SSD to a Centos 6 system. But I get the error 22 no such partition at boot. The system already has a single SSD (sdb) and a pair of HDDs (sd{a,c}) in a RAID 1 array from where it boots. It is as if the new SSD assumes one of the devices of the RAID array. Is it?   • Show floor-plans online like a map

    Given a floor-plan, which is too big for any screen, even if it is a 17" one, how can I show it online like a map? It would need further functionality that a browser alone does not have (just zoom in/out the entire image won't do the trick). The image will be breaked down into smaller jpgs, so the user will not have to download the whole floorplan at once.It will need some zoom in/zoom out button, and some way or bookmarking position (x,y). open-source solutions prefered.

  • How to get hibernate working on Windows 8?

    I have been using Windows 8 x64 Developers Preview as my primary OS on my laptop. Unfortunately I have been unable to enable hibernate (tried through registry and through powercfg.cpl). The closest I have got is that I was able to enable hibernate on pressing of power button, but that just turns of screen and keeps everything else running, I have to force shutdown to do anything. Do you know how I can get hibernate to work on my Dell Studio 17?

  • Better way to quad+ boot operating systems?

    I currently have Windows 7, Ubuntu 12.04, Fedora 17, and open SUSE installed. I currently use BURG boot loader to load up all the systems. However, BURG does not work with windows(I still manage) and it is a little finicky. So, I want to make windows work and have all the other OSes I want all on one boot loader. I already tried easy BCD and for whatever reason Fedora took over and blocked out the other OSes.

  • Cannot install boot camp 3.1 drivers on windows 7

    Hi all, I have a 64 bit windows 7 install (thru bootcamp) on my 17" macbook pro, with the bootcamp 3.0 drivers. Whenever i run the apple software update to install the 3.1 drivers, it downloads and installs them, then reboots, and when i've rebooted, it's still stuck on version 3.0 according to 'about boot camp' on the system tray icon. I've tried installing several times, it keeps happening. Any ideas? Thanks

  • Asterisk: Dropping calls with an "ast_yyerror"

    I'm having an intermittent issue where asterisk will play our greeting to the caller, and then drop the call instead of making our phones ring. I'm unable to reproduce the problem with any phones I have here, and many callers get through just fine. Some callers though, run into the problem, and I can't find any pattern to it. The bit of information I could find said it was caused by an error in evaluating a dialplan expression.     I forgot my pendrive plugged in when leaving the computer lab yesterday, and I would have lost it if it wasn't for a kind soul finding and returning it. I want to avoid this in the future and apparently there are some tools you can use in windows that warn you if you are leaving a pendrive behind when logging off or shutting down the computer. Is there anything similar that works on Linux? I need this to work on Fedora 17 (GNOME 3 shell), and preferably without requiring administrator privileges.

What's the fastest way to find out if a given localNode is a producer for another localnode in the data structure (and not within the same list)? For example, I would like to know that nA (node-17) produces for nC (exists on node-16). But I don't need to know that nB produces for nC, since they exist in the same localNodes list.

    Actually my XML file has SVG info, and my Project lead wants me to develop an XSLT for the XMl file to convert it in to a PDF file.
