    Video in VLC or SMplayer is often in black and white with washed-out colors in the wrong place (translated considerably). Moreover, the last video image is often visible when a new video is started and persist as long as the new video is running. Colors have a recognizable shape (e.g. a persons clothes or face), but can be obviously incorrect (e.g. green or purples faces). This is independent of the format of the videos (mp4, mkv, wmv). Sometimes all problems disappear when a new video is started, but often only a reboot restores normal video. Ubuntu was upgraded to 14.04 and is fully updated.     I have two class, one is Business Logic Class{BLO} and the other one is Data Access Class{DAO} and I have dependency in my BLO class to my Dao class. Basically am opening a csv file to write into it in my BLO class using inside its constructor as I am creating an object of BLO and passing in file from command prompt: Code: $this->fin = fopen($file,'w+') or die('Cannot open file'); Now inside BLO I have one function notifiy, which call has dependency to DAO class and call getCurrentDBSnapshot function from the Dao and passes the open stream so that data gets populated into the stream. Now I want to close the file which I opened for writing and so it should be fclose of $outputFile or $data, because in both the cases it gives me: var_dump(fclose($outputFile)) as bool(false) var_dump(fclose($data)) as bool(false) and var_dump($outputFile) as resource(9) of type (Unknown) var_dump($data) as resource(9) of type (Unknown) My question is that if I open file using fopen in class A and if I call class B method from Class A method and pass an open stream, in our case $data, than Class B would perform some work and return back and open stream and so How can I close that open stream in Class A's method or it is ok to keep that stream open and not use fclose ? Would appreciate inputs as am not very sure as how this can be implemented.

  • What's the command to open the Unity Dash?

    I would like to know the command (from the Terminal) which opens the Unity dash, the reason being I want to create a desktop icon that starts the dash instead of the 'Windows Key' for keyboard-free use of the computer (I miss the old Ubuntu-Tweak effect where putting your mouse to the corner of the desktop would reveal Expo or Scale effects - by the way, is it possible to get it back?) Making a launcher (Application, Name, Command, Comment, etc) I tried the commands 'Unity', 'Dash' and other things, but I didn't manage to get it to work. I am using version 12.04

  • Implications on automatically "open" third party domain aliasing to one of my subdomains

    I have a domain, let's call it www.mydomain.com where I have a portal with an active community of users. In this portal users cooperate in a wiki way to build some "kind of software". These software applications can then be run by accessing "public.mydomain.com/softwarename" I then want to let my users run these applications from their own subdomains. I know I can do that by automatically modifying the.htaccess file. This is not a problem. I want to let these users create dns aliases to let them access one specific subdomain. So if a user "pippo" that owns "www.pippo.com" wants to run software HelloWorld from his own subdomains he has to: Register to my site Create his own subdomain on his own site, run.pippo.com From his DNS control panel, he creates a CNAME record "run.pippo.com" pointing to "public.mydomain.com" He types in a browser http://run.pippo.com/HelloWorld When the software(that is physically run on my server) is called, first it checks that the originating domain is a trusted one. I don't do any other kind of check that restricts software execution. From a SEO perspective, I care about Google indexing of www.mydomain.com but I don't care about indexing of public.mydomain.com What are the possible security implications of doing this for my site? Is there a better way to do this or software that already does this that I can use?
