  • What is a good PDF report generator tool for python?

    What is a good tool for PDF report generation in Python? I've checked out ReportLab, but it seems to be awfully low-level for what I want to do. My current hunch is to call TeX on the command-line and let it produce the PDF, but if there is something that is easier to work with (and looks professional - We'll send this to customers) I'd very much like a prod in the right direction.

    Hi, I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional with TestDriven.NET 2.14.2190, Windows XP (x86). When i right click on my unit tests project, test with - Coverage, I obtain the following output: NCover couldn't create a coverage report. and the result: 0 Passed, 0 Failed, 0 Skipped I have no other versions of NCover installed, just the VS and TestDriven .NET The actual testing is performed as expected - all tests successfully pass (so, there's nothing wrong with my class) Does anyone know what could be the problem?

  • How can I filter a report with duplicate fields in related records?

    I have a report where I need to filter out records where there is a duplicate contract number within the same station but a different date. It is not considered a duplicate value becuase of the different date. I then need to summarize the costs and count the contracts but even if i suppress the "duplicate fields" it will summarize the value. I want to select the record with the most current date.   • Modify url in browser using javascript?

    Hi, Is it possible to change the url in the user's browser without actually loading a page, using javascript? I don't think it is (could lead to unwanted behavior), I'm in a situation where this would be convenient though: I have a web app which displays reports generated by users. Layout roughly looks like: ----------------------------------------------------------- Column 1 | Column 2 ----------------------------------------------------------- Report A | Report B | Currently selected report contents here. Report C | right now the user would be looking at a url like: www.mysite.com/user123 To see the above page. When the user clicks the report names in column 1, I load the contents of that report in column 2 using ajax. This is convenient for the user, but the url in their browser remains unchanged. The users want to copy the url for a report to share with friends, so I suppose I could provide a button to generate a url for them, but it would just be more convenient for them to have it already as the url in their browser, something like: www.mysite.com/user123/reportb the alternate is to not load the contents of the report in column 2 using ajax, but rather a full page refresh. This would at least have a linkable url ready for the user in their url bar, but not as convenient as using ajax. Thanks

  • SCCM 2012 - Windows 8 WSUS

    We're using SCCM 2012 to deploy Windows Updates on our domain, and our Windows 8 clients have started failing with error 80240438 when they try to update. Windows 7 clients update fine, but Windows 8 clients refuse to do anything. I've done a search online and it seems to only reference Windows InTune. Has anyone seen any similar behavior on Windows 8 machines? If we don't get that error, we're getting 80244021 which seems to indicate that the server can't be found.... but they can resolve it just fine and our exceptions are defined on the proxy too.     I am trying to allow inbound unsolicited ICMPv6 requests from an external link-local address to my outside (external) interfaces link-local address. I can ping (echo-request) the external address and receive a pong (echo-reply) but ICMPv6 messages initiated on the far side are dropped. I am running 9.0(1) in order to use some of the newer features. Does the Cisco ASA not allow unsolicited inbound requests from a link-local address? Should it matter if all ICMPv6 is allowed?   • ASP.NET ASPX Designer question. Bug?

    Check out this Screenshot. Shouldn't a hierarchy list of tags appear here? Usually it appears. Sometimes, the tag "appears" there but without text (but the tag object is there as evident when you hover over it.) Other times, like this, nothing appears. It's a usual feature to see the hierarchy or tags which gives me easily access to the tags from design view for easy altering in the properties window. I think too many developers love to do things the hard way and sludge thru tags in HTML view and hardly use this, but it frustrates me when it doesn't work all the time. Is it me? Nah....

  • Is it possible to connect slots of a model object to the GUI in QT4 -Designer?

    So I try to build a Model-View window using QTDesigner and C++. For that reason I created a QOBject derived class as my model. It provides slots and signals to access it like: setFileName(QString) or fileNameChanged(QString). I got a little into using signal drag and drop in QTDesigner and found it quite VA-Smalltalk-Like nice. After a while I was wondering if I could also connect my model to this. So is it possible to somehow introduce my model object into the Window/GUI and let QTDesigner connect signals and slots from the model object to the GUI.   • How can I make the Entity data model designer use my database column descriptions?

    I am using EF4 with Visual Studio 2010. I have a SQL database already created and all my columns are documented with the Description property in SQL management studio. When I create the edmx in Visual Studio, how can I make it read those descriptions and use them to add comments to my generated classes? I know I can use the Summary and LongDescription in the edmx properties but I'm looking for a way to do this without having to copy and paste every description. Thanks!

Should I continue to look for one person with both skills, or is it better broken to two separate tasks?
