  I would like to be able to map URLs to Controllers dynamically based on information in my database. I'm looking to do something functionally equivalent to this (assuming a View model): map.route '/:view_name', :controller => lambda { View.find_by_name(params[:view_name]).controller } Others have suggested dynamically rebuilding the routes, but this won't work for me as there may be thousands of Views that map to the same Controller

• How many disks to use for eight channel RAID controller

  I have a 3ware 8 channel SAS controller and a back plane extender (also 8 channel) which can take 16 drives. I will be creating a single RAID 10 volume. I know that adding more drives has positive effect on performance, but I'm not sure if adding more than 8 drives on an 8 channel controller will have any positive impact at all. Am I wrong? Should I put 16 drives for best performance? Would 8 drives give me the same performance?

  I have a Poweredge R510 server with a PERC H700 Integrated RAID controller that is exhibiting slower than expected disk speeds (RAID 1 and RAID 10 arrays) and I'm looking at the configuration of the server. Running the command omreport chassis biossetup on the server shows me the following configuration setting: Embedded SATA Controller : ATA I can also see that the possible options for this setting are: off | ata | qdma | raid I've been looking online to find out what this setting means and what the various options refer to but I've been unable to find anything particularly helpful, so I was hoping that somebody here could help to enlighten me. • UISplitViewController Cannot Change the Master View Controller?

  I am trying to change the master view controller (that appears in the popover in portrait, and on the left side in landscape) in a UISplitViewController. I'd like to switch between the master view controller being one of two different UIViewControllers (depending on an action taken elsewhere in my application). I am using the following: mySplitViewController.viewControllers = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:newMasterController, detailController, nil]; This correctly changes the master viewcontroller as you would expect in landscape mode. However it does not seem to change the viewcontroller used for the popover in portrait mode. I notice that the barbuttonitem to show this master view controller is just calling showMasterInPopover: on the splitviewcontroller, and so would expect it to work in portrait mode as well, but it does not. In fact, I can set the master view controller, see the new viewController correctly in landscape mode, rotate back to portrait, and the viewcontroller used in the popover is still the old one. Is this a bug?

  After reading this question about maxing out an SSD I decided to do so myself. My mobo only supports SATA 2 and has two PCIe 2.0 x1 connectors (which promiss up to 500 mb/s). So after some searching I decided to go with this controller from amazon. My Samsung magician benchmark before upgrade (running SATA 2): Now after installing the controller all of the benchmark scores are lower (even though the Samsung Magician app confirms its connected to a SATA 3 port): What can I do to remedy this? Any help is appreciated.

And I wish that if I'm at index of the homepage the header is rendering with some content, but all other controllers render another content inside that header. • How to hide parent tabbar when pushing controller in navigationController

  Hi all, I have an application with a tab bar controller and each view contains a navigation controller. My MainWindow looks as follows: Everything works fine as it is but I noticed a problem when pushing a details view to the navigation controller. In the didSelectRowAtIndexPath for a tableviewcontroller that belongs to the tab bar controller (the one called Latest in the image) I am doing this: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { ArticleViewController *articleController = [[ArticleViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ArticleView" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:articleController animated:YES]; [articleController release]; articleController = nil; } The ArticleViewController has its own tabbar because it needs to display different things.   How should I setup sharing/directory permissions to allow the following to work: VMHost - Hyper-V partition (not part of domain) ADServer - Active Directory Domain Controller running as guest VM on VMHost \VMHost\Updates disk share for WSUS to put the updates and other local files Problem is what permissions do I need to give to \VMHost\Updates to allow WSUS to work with this directory to avoid "The WSUS content directory is not accessible" error which I am currently seeing. As far as I can tell WSUS runs as "domain/Network Service" account. Question is without adding VMHost to the domain how do I give that user appropriate permissions to this directory? Is there a way that VMHost can be told to trust ADServer and then be able to use users accounts from there?   I have a machine that was a domain controller and everything else, includin an IIS site. I built new 2 new domain controllers and transferred the FSMO roles and waited a day and then demoted the original domain controller. Now the IIS site says : HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized You are not authorized to view this page due to invalid authentication headers. I have a call in with the web app vendor, but maybe someone can guess what I need to fix now. I haven't looked at IIS since this was installed and am pretty lost. I thought about restoring the machine from a backup, but I think that would be an Active Directory disaster, right? The server is Windows 2008 (not R2). The new DCs are 2008 R2

  Hi all, I need to able to access controller methods from a model using the Kohana V2.3 framework. At the moment I'm passing the controller object (by ref.) to the model on creation which works perfectly fine but I can't help think there is a more "cleaner" way - does anybody have any suggestions?   Hi folks, I'm trying to mock up a fake ASP.NET Controller. I don't have any concrete controllers, so I was hoping to just mock a Controller and it will work.   I've been reading up on OpenStack and how we can re-create an EC2/S3-style cloud for our internal development and I'm having a hard time finding information on how the OpenStack cloud controller provides redundancy of the cloud management services. I know I can setup multiple Swift and Nova nodes, but not a single document/article/howto/wiki contains information on: a) what happens if the cloud controller node dies; and b) how to setup redundant cloud controllers. It seems to me that, although it is massively scalable, there is a big single-point-of-failure built into OpenStack. Can anyone with more experience on OpenStack please shed some light as to how it all works in regards to high-availability?

  I have some decent HP Proliants server that come with "HP Smart Array P410i Controller" enabled, I am using these boxes to set up a Hadoop cluster and I know, RAID is for sure a no-no for Hadoop since the application itself will take care of data redundancy and extra intelligence provided by RAID won't be helpful and might turn down the performance. I tried to disable the devices at the BIOS and the box cannot even access the disk afterwards. So I am assuming the controller is sitting between disks and mother board, and we have to turn it on and configure it to "level0" or something like that. I am wondering what should I do to "disable" the RAID functionality so it will fit into the Hadoop environment.

• Flushing writes in buffer of Memory Controller to DDR device

  At some point in my code, I need to push the writes in my code all the way to the DIMM or DDR device. My requirement is to ensure the write reaches the row,ban,column of the DDR device on the DIMM. I need to read what I've written to the main memory. I do not want caching to get me the value. Instead after writing I want to fetch this value from main memory(DIMM's). So far I've been using Intel's x86 instruction wbinvd(write back and invalidate cache). However this means the caches and TLB are flushed. Write-back requests go to the main memory. However, there is a reasonable amount of time this data might reside in the write buffer of the Memory Controller( Intel calls it integrated memory controller or IMC). The Memory Controller might take some more time depending on the algorithm that runs in the Memory Controller to handle writes. Is there a way I force all existing or pending writes in the write buffer of the memory controller to the DRAM devices ?? What I am looking for is something more direct and more low-level than wbinvd. If you could point me to right documents or specs that describe this I would be grateful. Generally, the IMC has a several registers which can be written or read from. From looking at the specs for that for the chipset I could not find anything useful.
