    Hello Every one, I have been working on microsoft based web technologies (.net, sql server, iis) for about an year and would like to know the opensource alternatives for the above. I have heard of LAMP, Java based technologies, ruby on rails etc. Can you please point me to a place where I can find more information about these and how they match up against each other. Client's browser should be enforced to clear the Cache from server side. Also all cache policies must be exposed to the client from the server side. Is there any solution to this problem?

  • List problem in Reporting Services 2005

    Hi, I have a problem with a list in srss 2005. The list is grouping too much information and I dont know how to un-group it. I made a picture to show it. But because I'm new, I can only show it with this link: http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/6058/listproblem.gif So the list is also grouping the weeks, but that is not what I would like.     Google has described a novel framework for distributed processing on Massive Graphs. http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1582716.1582723 I wanted to know if similar to Hadoop (Map-Reduce) are there any open source implementations of this framework? I am actually in process of writing a Pseudo distributed one using python and multiprocessing module and thus wanted to know if someone else has also tried implementing it.   • How do bezier handles work?

    On Wikipedia I found information about bezier curves and made a function to generate the inbetween points for a bezier polygon. I noticed that Expression Design uses bezier handles. This allows a circle to be made with 4 points each with a bezier handle. I'm just not sure mathematically how this works in relation with the formula for bezier point at time T. How do these handle vectors work to modify the shape? Basically what's there relation to the bezier formula? Thanks

    Hi there, I am currently building a webshop for my own where I want to increment the product-stock when the user fails to complete payment within 10 minutes after the customer placed the order. I want to gather information from this thread to make a design decision. I am using SQL Server 2008 and ASP.NET 3.5. Should I use a SQL Server Job who intervals check the orders which are not payed yet or are there better solutions to do this. Thanks in advance! Martijn

  • Map /dev/bus/usb node to /sys node on Linux

    I'm using libusb to find and access a USB device, but once I get the information I need from there, I need to map it to a /sys node. This could be to the actual USB bus it's on, the /sys/bus/usb-serial node (which is where I'm going to get eventually), or effectively anywhere else since I can walk the tree from there. I can get to a /dev/bus/usb node easily enough, but I'm a bit lost from there. What would be the best route to perform this mapping?

    Can anyone post a tutorial here on how to show a Wikipedia article in a .NET WinForms application (C# or VB)? If the article can be placed in a string it suffices, there`s no need to put it on any control. I found some information on Wikipedia's API. After reading it, I added the reference to web service but can`t find a way to make this work. And if it's possible, explain how images are downloaded from wiki (link or image itself).

    Today I read that there is a software called WinCalibra (scroll a bit down) which can take a text file with properties as input. This program can then optimize the input properties based on the output values of your algorithm. See this paper or the user documentation for more information (see link above; sadly doc is a zipped exe). Do you know other software which can do the same which runs under Linux? (preferable Open Source)

The issue is, i don't know where to look or how to access that information. Where can I find the framework headers? Also, I was wondering where the iPhone stores the Fonts. (Path to them...)

  • XSL ignores my whitespace even with the <xsl:text> tag

    I'm making a header in my XSL code that includes multiple fields of information, i.e. "Name: Bob Birthdate: January 1 1900," etc. I enclosed them in tags as such: <xsl:text> Gender: Male </xsl:text> But on the page, the whitespace around Gender/Male is being ignored. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance.
