  • Error in ASP.NET MVC 2 View after Upgrading from ASP.NET 4.0 RC to RTM

    In my View, I am trying to loop through a list in a LINQ object that as part of my View Model. This worked fine earlier today with the VS2010 RC and the .NET 4.0 RC. <% if (Model.User.RoleList.Count > 0 ) { %> <% foreach (var role in Model.User.RoleList) { %> <%: role.Name %><br /> <% } %> <% } else { %> <em>None</em><br /> <% } %> It used to happily spew out a list of the role names. No data or code has changed. Simply the software upgrades from RC to RTM. The error I am getting is this: \Views\Users\Details.aspx(67): error CS0012: The type 'System.Data.Linq.EntitySet`1' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Linq, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. But System.Data.Linq IS referenced. I see it there in the references list. I tried deleting it and re-adding it but I get the same error. Any ideas?

  • Amazon Web services - retrieving a wishlist

    I've been tinkering with Yahoo Pipes and the Amazon E-Commerce Service (ECS) SDK to retrieve my wishlist. The problem is that although I can get all the items on my wishlist just fine, it seems to include items that I've deleted too. Has anyone else used this API and noticed this? Is there a way around it? UPDATE: Requested additional information in comments...     In my Silverlight 4 app, CustomerView (UserControl) shows Customer object as it's DataContext. Customer object has IndustryCode string property. I created combobox called cboIndustryCode and bind it to the IndustryCode property the following way: <ComboBox x:Name="cboIndustryCode" SelectedValue="{Binding IndustryCode, Mode=TwoWay}" ... /> In code-behind I populate cboIndustryCode with List of Industry object, which has Code and Name properties: cboIndustryCode.ItemsSource = industries; //which is of List<Industry> type Now, to show everything properly, in XAML I added the following: <ComboBox x:Name="cboIndustryCode" SelectedValue="{Binding IndustryCode, Mode=TwoWay}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectedValuePath="Code" ... /> So, when I get a customer class from my data layer and set the DataContext to this customer instance, the cboIndustryCode properly displays industry name. But, then I edit customer (not necessarily IndustryCode) and save the object (which resets DataContext = new Customer()) and retrieve the customer again from database, and I see that cboIndustryCode no longer working. It just displays nothing, and if I select new value from the list, it does not update underlying customer object's IndustryCode property. The problem goes away, if I put the following code in the place where I set DataContext to a instance of customer, retrieved from database: Binding binding = new Binding("IndustryCode"); binding.Mode = BindingMode.TwoWay; cboIndustryCode.SetBinding(ComboBox.SelectedValueProperty, binding); So, in short, combobox's binding is reset somehow every time I save my data. Can someone tell me the reason?

  • Custom UITableViewCell won't redraw on setNeedsDisplay

    I created a custom UITableViewCell class with a UIButton, a UIImage, and two UILabels. The button and the image are overlayed on top of each other, and only one is displayed at a time. The expected behavior is you touch on the button, the button disappears, and it displays the image. The UITableViewCells are set to be reused.     Hi all, I wrote a method that retrieves certain list of strings, given a correct string key. Now when I create a list(the one to be retrieved by method descibed in previous sentence) and create test I can easily get results and test passes successfully. Now on the other hand if I save the content of this list to database in 2 columns, key and value I wrote a class which retrieves this items with method inside it. And when I print it out to console the expected results are correct, now I initialize my DAO from application context where inside its bean it gets session and because of DAO works. Now I'm trying to write a test which will mock the DAO, because I'm running test localy not on the server .. so I told jmock to mock it : private MyDAO myDAO; in the setup() myDAO = context.mock(MyDAO.class); I think I'm mocking it correctly or not, how can I mock this data from database? what is the best way? Is there somewhere good Jmock documentation? on their official site its not very good and clear, you have to know what you seek in order to find it, can't discover something cool in the mean time.

  • C# inaccurate timer?

    Hi there, I'm developing an application and I need to get the current date from a server (it differs from the machine's date). I receive the date from the server and with a simple Split I create a new DateTime: globalVars.fec = new DateTime(DateTime.Now.Year, DateTime.Now.Month, DateTime.Now.Day, int.Parse(infoHour[0]), int.Parse(infoHour[1]), int.Parse(infoHour[2])); globalVars is a class and fec is a public static variable so that I can access it anywhere in the application (bad coding I know...). Now I need to have a timer checking if that date is equal to some dates I have stored in a List and if it is equal I just call a function. List<DateTime> fechas = new List<DateTime>(); Before having to obtain the date from a server I was using computer's date, so to check if the dates matched I was using this: private void timerDatesMatch_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { DateTime tick = DateTime.Now; foreach (DateTime dt in fechas) { if (dt == tick) { //blahblah } } } Now I have the date from the server so DateTime.Now can't be used here. Instead I have created a new timer with Interval=1000 and on tick I'm adding 1 second to globalVars.fec using: globalVars.fec = globalVars.fec.AddSeconds(1); But the clock isn't accurate and every 30 mins the clock loses about 30 seconds. Is there another way of doing what I'm trying to do? I've thought about using threading.timer instead but I need to have access to other threads and non-static functions. Thanks in advance, Ivan

    Hi All, I'm trying to get the height of a html window's content. This is the full height of the content not the visible height. I have had some (very limited) success using: document.getElementsByTagName('html')[0].offsetHeight in FireFox. This however fails in IEs and it fails in Chrome when using absolute positioned elements (http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=38999).     I now understand that the following code will not work because I'm assigning window.onload to the result of the function, not the function itself. But if I remove the parens, I suspect that I have to explicitly call a separate function to process the config before the onload. Is there a better way of doing this? Note: If your answer is to bundle a function of window.onload, please also confirm that it is not hazardous to assign window.onload within scripts. It's my understanding that another script coming after my own could, in fact, overwrite what I'd assigned to onload.

    I am trying to create a custom WPF textbox control that extends the standard textbox control but the extended textbox behaves differently when placed in control containers. Within my Window I have a stackpanel with a standard textbox and my extended textbox: <StackPanel Margin="10"> <TextBox Height="21" /> <l:SearchTextBox Search="SearchTextBox_Search" Height="21" Margin="0, 10, 0, 0" SearchMode="Delayed" HorizontalAlignment="Left" /> </StackPanel> The standard textbox stretches the length of the StackPanel whereas the custom textbox does not. How can I get the controls to behave the same?     I basically have to do a update of a record. I have a set of controls like textbox, list box, radio button etc. Then i have a button on click of which i need to carry all the updated data into mysql database with a ajax request without page refresh. I am using the php with codeigniter as my serverside code. On client side i am able to send the ajax request like $(document).ready(function(){ $('#users_menu').click( function(){ $('#tempdiv').load('http://localhost//web1/index.php/c1',null); } ); }); In the above code the request is placed to a server side php page where i am not able to read the values of the control values (values of textbox, listbox etc). Now this means i should be sending the list with the request. But i am not aware of how to send this request. Please help me with some details of how to send the list of values or is it possible to read the vaules some how in the serverside php code. For your information i am using codeigniter with my php.     I don't know if any of you have had experience with QuickBooks integration, but I have to try :) I downloaded QuickBooks Free Simple Start, Quickbooks Web Connector and Web Service sample code ... I've read Web Connector manual and followed instructions but, when using authenticate function, I always get error "nvu", meaning that username or password are not valid. After that, I opened my web service: http://localhost/WCWebService/WCWebService.asmx?op=authenticate and in field "strUserName" entered "test", in field "strPassword" entered: "1234". But "nvu" is always returned as a result. If someone is familiar with this I would appreciate for help!

    Hi, I am working on a mvc project, and having problem with json. i have created a demo project with list of colors public JsonResult GetResult() { List strList = new List(); strList.Add("white"); strList.Add("blue"); strList.Add("black"); strList.Add("red"); strList.Add("orange"); strList.Add("green"); return this.Json(strList); } i am able to get these on my page, but when i try to delete one color, that is when i send the following using jquery function deleteItem(item) { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "/Home/Delete/white", data: "{}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", success: ajaxCallSucceed, dataType: "json", failure: ajaxCallFailed }); } the controler action public JsonResult Delete(string Color) {} Color always returns null, even if i have specified "/Home/Delete/white" in the url. i know i am doing something wrong or missing something, but not able to find out what. please can any one guide me in the right direction.

  • Change Edit Control Block (ECB) Link URL in SharePoint

    Is there a way to dynamically change the hyperlink associated with an ECB menu in WSS 3.0? For instance, I have a list with 2 fields. One field is hidden and is a link, the other is the title field which has the ECB menu. The title field currently links to the item's view page - but we want it to link to the link-field's url. Can I get the actual item's GUID here? If I can get the item's ID I can send it with the list ID to an application page that will get the right URL from field in the list and forward the user on to the right site.

    I used this example to create a DateTime column for a DataGridView in my winforms app. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/7tas5c80.aspx I can see the new column in the Windows Forms Designer and add it to an existing DataGridView. However, I want to be able to change the display format when I change the "DefaultCellStyle" within the designer. The designer generated code looks like this: DataGridViewCellStyle1.Format = "t" DataGridViewCellStyle1.NullValue = Nothing Me.colDate.DefaultCellStyle = DataGridViewCellStyle1 Me.colDatum.Name = "colDate" Me.colDatum.Resizable = System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewTriState.[False] Which is fine. But since the code of the DataGridViewCalendarCell does this in the constructor: Public Sub New() Me.Style.Format = "d" End Sub The format never changes to "t" (time format). I didn't find out how to apply the format from the owning column to I use this woraround atm: Public Overrides Function GetInheritedStyle _ (ByVal inheritedCellStyle As _ System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellStyle, _ ByVal rowIndex As Integer, ByVal includeColors As Boolean) _ As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellStyle If Me.OwningColumn IsNot Nothing Then Me.Style.Format = Me.OwningColumn.DefaultCellStyle.Format End If Return MyBase.GetInheritedStyle(_ inheritedCellStyle, rowIndex, includeColors) End Function However, since this is just an hack I want to know which is the "how it should" be done way to apply the default cellstyle from a DataGridViewColumn to its cells.   • C# unaccurate timer?

    Hi there, I'm developing an application and I need to get the current date from a server (it differs from the machine's date). I receive the date from the server and with a simple Split I create a new DateTime: globalVars.fec = new DateTime(DateTime.Now.Year, DateTime.Now.Month, DateTime.Now.Day, int.Parse(infoHour[0]), int.Parse(infoHour[1]), int.Parse(infoHour[2])); globalVars is a class and fec is a public static variable so that I can access it anywhere in the application (bad coding I know...). Now I need to have a timer checking if that date is equal to some dates I have stored in a List and if it is equal I just call a function. List<DateTime> fechas = new List<DateTime>(); Before having to obtain the date from a server I was using computer's date, so to check if the dates matched I was using this: private void timerDatesMatch_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { DateTime tick = DateTime.Now; foreach (DateTime dt in fechas) { if (dt == tick) { //blahblah } } } Now I have the date from the server so DateTime.Now can't be used here. Instead I have created a new timer with Interval=1000 and on tick I'm adding 1 second to globalVars.fec using: globalVars.fec = globalVars.fec.AddSeconds(1); But the clock isn't accurate and every 30 mins the clock loses about 30 seconds. Is there another way of doing what I'm trying to do? I've thought about using threading.timer instead but I need to have access to other threads and non-static functions. Thanks in advance, Ivan

If I give the dropdown list the same name as the property on my model the selected value is not set properly. Meaning this works: <%= Html.DropDownList("fam", typeof(EnumFamily), Model.Family)%> But this doesn't: <%= Html.DropDownList("family", typeof(EnumFamily), Model.Family)%> Because I'm trying to pass an entire object directly to the controller method I am posting to, I would really like to have the dropdown list named for the property on the model. When using the "right" name, the dropdown does post correctly, I just can't seem to set the selected value. I don't think this matters but I am running MVC 1 on mono 2.6

When sorting an item I would like a clone of the item I am dragging remain until I stop drop the item in its new position.
