• Carousel stopped working

  I can't get why, but suddenly my Bootstrap Carousel stopped working. I want it starts onload. I want to get a subject, and get its related past questions of a particular year. I was thinking of fetching a subject and getting its related past question. Currently am implementing my code such that I rather get the past question whose subject and year correspond to any specified subject like this_subject=Subject.objects.get(name=the_subject) thepastQ=Pastquestion.objects.get(year=2000,subject=this_subject) I was thinking there is a better way to do this. Or is this already a better way? Please Do tell ?

• Unable to pass attribute from controller to view

  I'm using Spring MVC 3 for a web app. In the app a URI template is supposed to be handled by a controller method, which then passes an attribute to a view. Currently, the controller does handle the request, and it even forwards to the correct view. However, it does NOT pass the attribute to the view. Below are the URI template, controller method and relevent jsp tags. Anyone see what is wrong?   My data consists of objects as follows. Obj1 - Color - shape - size - price - ranking So I want to be able to predict what combination of color/shape/size/price is a good combination to get high ranking. Or even a combination could work like for eg: in order to get good ranking, the alg predicts best performance for this color and this shape. Something like that. What are the advisable algorithms for such a prediction? Also may be if you can briefly explain how I can approach towards the model building I would really appreciate it. Say for eg: my data looks like Blue pentagon small $50.00 #5 Red Squre large $30.00 #3 So what is a useful prediction model that I should look at? What algorithm should I try to predict like say highest weightage is for price followed by color and then size. What if I wanted to predict in combinations like a Red small shape is less likely to higher rank compared to pink small shape . (In essence trying to combine more than one nominal values column to make the prediction)

  Hi all, I got a simple input text field in a HTML form: <input type="text" name="data[User][pswd]" id="data[User][pswd]"> The scripts for the Controller's action that captured the data is as follows: function register(){ $temp = $this->data; if(strlen($temp['User']['pswd'])>6) { if ($this->User->save($this->data)) { $this->Session->setFlash('Data was Saved'); } } } // this script works And in the Model controller, I got these lines of codes: function beforeSave() { $raw = $this->data; if(strlen($raw['User']['pswd'])>6){ md5($raw['User']['pswd']); } return true; } // this script failed to work The data was stored into the Database successfully but it was not undergone any MD5 encryption. I think that there must be some errors in the Model's script because I saw some errors flashed after the data was saved, but the screen that showed the errors immediately refreshed in a second after the data was saved successfully and I couldn't see the detail of the errors that caused the problem. Could you help me out please?

  Say I have 2 subclasses from UIViewController, class A and class B. In Main nib file an object is representing class A and it is set to load file from Secondary nib file. The owner of Secondary nib is of class B. The question is - from which class an object in Main nib file will be instanciated once the nib files unarchived in the memory? The reason this question arised is that I have to take care myself if such reference to external NIB file present, to ensure that the first nib's object and second nib's owner is same. • Ruby ActiveRecord + Mongrel going slow

  I have a class like this: class Router :: Mongrel::HttpHandler def process(req, res) status, header, body = [200, {"Content-type"="text/html"}, Model.all.to_xml] res.start(status) do |head, out| header.each_pair { |key, value| head[key] = value } out.write body end end end It's an server and I use an ActiveResource front end on the other side. Every 3rd request is very slow (about 5 seconds, 1st and 2nd is ok, about 0.01 sec). The problem in Model.all.to_xml (it is ActiveRecord - SQLite). Why it is too slow? It only happens when I use it in Mongrel::HttpHandler.. This 100.times do a = Time.now Car.all.to_xml puts "#{Time.now - a}" sleep(1) end is always works good.

• Why are namespaces acting up in Visual Studio 2010?

  I've just converted a project to VS 2010 and something really weird is going on with namespaces. Let me give an example, the following code used to work in VS2008: MySystem.Core.Object { using MySystem.Core.OtherObject; ... } But now it doesn't, it either wants the whole thing to be put outside of the namespace like this: using MySystem.Core.OtherObject; MySystem.Core.Object { ... } or be rewritten it like: MySystem.Core.Object { using OtherObject; ... } I understand why this works and maybe is the correct way of handling this, but now we'd have to change thousands of lines of code! Which is not cool. Any idea to circumvent this requirement?

  Example I have 4 activities. A B C D A is a list of objects. B C D are used to add a new object. So A calls B then C then D . However C or D have button to 'add the object' When going up from B or C or D to activity A , A should have a List with these objects. Even if user tap back items should be 'saved' However I dont want to start a new Intent at C or D because i dont want user to go back to A and then click again add new item.   I'm trying to learn Express and in my app I have middleware that passes the session object from the Request object to my Response object so that I can access it in my views: app.use((req, res, next) -> res.locals.session = req.session next() ) But app.locals is available to the view as well right? So is it the same if I do app.locals.session = req.session? Is there a convention for the types of things app.locals and res.locals are used for? • JTable.removeColumn() method throws exception

  To hide a column from only the view of JTable, i am using the removeColumn() method. But it throws the exception Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 7 >= 7 at java.util.Vector.elementAt(Vector.java:470) at javax.swing.table.DefaultTableColumnModel.getColumn(DefaultTableColumnModel.java:294) at javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicTableHeaderUI.paint(BasicTableHeaderUI.java:648) i think, after removing column from the view, if i modified the model, then this exception pops out. is it because of there is no column in view, while the model is updating the table ? What is the best way to hide the column in view in JTable ? insteading of setting the sizes to 0.

  Hello! My problem can be described the following way: I have some data which actually is an array and could be represented as char* data with some size I also have some legacy code (function) that takes some abstract std::istream object as a param and uses that stream to retrieve data to operate. So, my question is the following - what would be the easy way to map my data to some std::istream object so that I can pass it to my function? I thought about creating a std::stringstream object from my data, but that means copying and (as I assume) isn't the best solution. Any ideas how this could be done so that my std::istream operates on the data directly? Thank you.
