• Blob in Java/Hibernate/sql-server 2005

  Hi, I'm trying to insert an HTML blob into our sql-server2005 database. i've been using the data-type [text] for the field the blob will eventually live in. i've also put a '@Lob' annotation on the field in the domain model. The problem comes in when the HTML blob I'm attempting to store is larger than 65536 characters. Its seems that is the caracter-limit for a text data type when using the @Lob annotation. Ideally I'd like to keep the whole blob in tact rather than chunk it up into multiple rows in the database. I appreciate any help or insight that might be provided. I'm positive that filter.value is defined and available on the scope even though Angular thinks it's not for some reason. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help is much appreciated.

• Tinymce Line break problem on Safari and Chrome

  Hello all, Does anyone know how to fix the problem about Tinymce Line break problem on Safari and Chrome. For example, Let's say, I have two line pure text. When I copy and paste through firefox or IE. It's under one p tag. So it's same formatting i saw in the text file which is two line. But if i copy and paste through Chrome or Firefox, it becomes two p tag. So at display there,s one space between that two line. I tried to add safari plugin, but nothing happens. And if i put the plugin called paste_auto_cleanup_on_paste : true, it's removing the space, but two line text became one line. Cany anyone help me out by providing solution ? I noticed that at wordpress which is using Tinymce Editor also, doesn't occur that problem, because seems like they are using span instead of p at editor. If that's the solution, how can i change to span instead of p. Thanks for your help and greatly appreciated.

• asp.net does not Redirect when in frameset

  I have developed an application on asp.net. I uploaded it to my host. lets say http://myhost/app. My manager wrapped this address into an empty frameset on http://anotherhost/somename and sets the src of frame to http://myhost/ap. And so nobody can login. When the button is hit, it posts back (browser loads stuff, progress bar fills up and ends) but nothing happens. Does not redirect. (I have set IE to alwaysAllowCookies and it now does work, but other people still cannot) I think there is something that I have no clue about framesets and ASP.NET ps: I never use frames but could not convince my manager in doing so. He likes to develop in front page :) Whatz happening? • How can I run a local Windows Application and have the output be piped into the Browser.

  I have Windows Application (.EXE file is written in C and built with MS-Visual Studio), that outputs ASCII text to stdout. I’m looking to enhance the ASCII text to include limited HTML with a few links. I’d like to invoke this application (.EXE File) and take the output of that application and pipe it into a Browser. This is not a one time thing, each new web page would be another run of the Local Application! The HTML/java-script application below has worked for me to execute the application, but the output has gone into a DOS Box windows and not to pipe it into the Browser.   Hi. I'm reviewing new features of ASP.NET MVC 2.0. During the review i found really interesting using Templated Helpers. As they described it, the primary reason of using them is to provide common way of how some datatypes should be rendered. As you can see from my example, i really need it, since I'm using the name of the property to specify data value and parameter name that will be send during the POST requsest. Also, I'm using it to generate class name for JS calendar building. I tried to remove my partial class for template helper and made MVC to generate its default behavior. Here what it generated for me: <input type="text" value="04/29/2010" name="LoanApplicationDays" id="LoanApplicationDays" class="text-box single-line"> As you can see, it used the name of the property for "name" and "id" attributes. This example let me to presume that Template Helper knows about the name of the property. So, there should be some way of how to use it in custom implementation. Thanks for your help!

• Any suggestions for good automated web load testing tool?

  What are some good automated tools for load testing (stress testing) web applications, that do not use record and replay of HTTP network packets? I am aware that there are numerous load testing tools on the market that record and replay HTTP network packets. But these are unsuitable for my purpose, because of this: The HTTP packet format changes very often in our application (e.g. when we optimize an AJAX call). We do not want to adapt all test scripts just because there is a slight change in HTTP packet format. Our test team shall not need to know any internals about our application to write their test scripts. A tool that replays HTTP packets, however, requires the team to know the format of HTTP requests and responses, such that they can adapt details of the replayed HTTP packets (e.g. user name). The automated load testing tool I am looking for should be able to let the test team write "black box" test scripts such as: Invoke web page at URL http://... . First, enter XXX into text field XXX. Then, press button XXX. Wait until response has been received from web server. Verify that text field XXX now contains the text XXX. The tool should be able to simulate up to several 1000 users, and it should be compatible with web applications using ASP.NET and AJAX.

My second try was to set width for list of choices after creating Ajax.Autocompleter $("isearch_choices").setStyle({width: "320px"}); but it didn't work too :(. No more ideas :(. I've used the Live HTTP Headers extension for Firefox to check whether the POST fields get submitted, and they do. The relevant information from Live HTTP Headers (with a, b and c filled in as values in the textboxes): Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Content-Length: 51 test%5B1%5D=a&test%5B2%5D=b&test%5B3%5D=c&action=Go Does anybody have any idea as to why this is happening? • Loading and binding a serialized view model to a WPF window?

  Hello all. I'm writing a one-window UI for a simple ETL tool. The UI consists of the window, the code behind for the window, a view model for the window, and the business logic. I wanted to provide functionality to the users to save the state of the UI because the content of about 10-12 text boxes will be reused between sessions, but are specific to the user. I figured I could serialize the view model, which contains all the data from the textboxes, and this works fine, but I'm having trouble loading the information in the serialized XML file back into the text boxes. • JQuery: Dynamically-generated form fields not submitted and event handlers appear to fire multiple t

  Hi, I'm new to JQuery, so I apologise if there's something which should be obvious which I'm unaware of. I seem to be having a couple of issues some JQuery I'm trying to implement: Code: http://pastebin.ca/1843496 (the editor didn't seem to like HTML tags) post_test.php simply contains: [?php print_r($_POST); ?] in an attempt to find out what's actually being submitted. The first issue I'm having is that only the hidden form fields are actually being submitted. If I insert tags into the container DIV manually it works as expected, but when done as above the text field doesn't get posted. From what I've read, I gather it's to do with the fact that the DOM is being modified after it's loaded, but the thing that's puzzling me is why, in that case, there are no issues referencing the other added hidden fields or the tag. I've experimented with changing the event handler for a.save to '.live('click', function ...' and also using LiveQuery to no avail. The other issue is that when a.save is clicked, before the form is actually submitted, as far as I can tell the event handler is running again, replacing the value entered into the text field with the value of editable.text(), which is what ultimately gets submitted.   I looked around and decided to use a CSS approach rather than rely on JS... I figure the kind of corporate users stuck with IE6 might also have JS disabled by IT departments. • Binary search in a sorted (memory-mapped ?) file in Java

  I am struggling to port a Perl program to Java, and learning Java as I go. A central component of the original program is a Perl module that does string prefix lookups in a +500 GB sorted text file using binary search (essentially, "seek" to a byte offset in the middle of the file, backtrack to nearest newline, compare line prefix with the search string, "seek" to half/double that byte offset, repeat until found...) I have experimented with several database solutions but found that nothing beats this in sheer lookup speed with data sets of this size. Do you know of any existing Java library that implements such functionality? Failing that, could you point me to some idiomatic example code that does random access reads in text files? Alternatively, I am not familiar with the new (?) Java I/O libraries but would it be an option to memory-map the 500 GB text file (I'm on a 64-bit machine with memory to spare) and do binary search on the memory-mapped byte array? I would be very interested to hear any experiences you have to share about this and similar problems.

• Django: how to cleanup form fields and avoid code duplication

  Quite often I need to filter some form data before using it (saving to database etc.) Let's say I want to strip whitespaces and replace repeating whitespaces with a single one in most of the text fields, in many forms. It's not difficult to do this using clean_<fieldname> methods: # Simplified model with two text fields class MyModel(models.Model): title = models.CharField() description = models.CharField() # Model-based form class MyForm(forms.ModelForm): class Meta: model = MyModel def clean_title(self): title = self.cleaned_data['title'] return re.sub(r'\s{2,}', ' ', title.strip()) def clean_description(self): description = self.cleaned_data['description'] return re.sub(r'\s{2,}', ' ', description.strip()) It does exactly what I need, and has a nice side effect which I like: if user enters only whitespaces, the field will be considered empty and therefore invalid (if it is required) and I don't even have to throw a ValidationError. The obvious problem here is code duplication.
