• Adding to the browser user agent string?

  I have a plug-in that handles its own url schema (something like mystuf:// ). If a user clicks on such a link when the plug-in isn't installed (s)he gets an ugly error. So I extended my installer to write into the Registry (for Internet Explorer) and the user.js (for Firefox) to ADD a custom string to the user agent string. These additions survive a browser upgrade nicely (Microsoft uses this technique to indicate the presence of the dotNet Framework). Now I need to extend this to Apple Safari and Google Chrome on all supported platforms. To be clear: I'm not looking how to REPLACE the user agent string, but how to amend it with additional information. Any hint?

  Every blogger have a template like header css main wrapper sidebar wrapper footer etc etc ... But in most of the cases the header and sidebar-wrapper, footer are stationary part of page, most of the time the sidebar content are not changes means they are constant. Only the main wrapper is always changes. So I want to ask you that, when user clicks on any link, or menu item or at the footer the main-rapper only loads without loading all other wrappers. *This may increase the loading time...* Anybody know how to do it???

  I currently have a crystal report that generating in Visual Studio 2005 which has a sub-report. I've linked the sub-report to dataset and dataset has one table call image and it contain column system.byte[]. main report link to another dataset . main report has parameters and sub report has only image field. but when run main report display data but sub report don't display. no error message. sub report dataset not pass data to report. anyone have any idea what might be causing the sub-reports to not work??

When I add jConfirm after "return" it works...for a second. it pops the warning and then the page refreshes and the dialog box goes away. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  Ok, so i'm new to asp.net mvc and i'm trying to make a web application photo gallery. I've posted once on here about this issue i am having of trying to generate thumbnails on-the-fly on the page instead of the actual full-size images. Basically, the functionality i am looking for is to be able to have thumbnails on the page and then be able to click the images to see the full-size version. I am pulling the images and images info from an XML file. So, i did this so i could display them dynamically and so it would be easier to make changes later. Later, i am going to add functionality to upload new images to specific galleries (when i figure out how to do that as well).   I'm developing a game, a big part of this game, is about scrolling a "circular" background ( the right end of the Background Image can connect with the left start of the Background image ). Should be something like this: ( Entity moving and arrow to show where the background should start to repeat ) This happens in order to allow to have an Entity walking, and the background repeating itself over and over again.   Has anybody some information about accessing Lotus Domino server to fetch entire mail contents by http(s) requests from php linux server? The article by Andrei Kouvchinnikov describes well how to fetch message list in notes mail folders; after obtaining session id during login one can for example select top 100 messages by calling: https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)?ReadViewEntries&Start=1&Count=100 And this works perfectly. The problem arises when I am trying to get message contents (0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811 is an example message unique Id): https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)/0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811/?OpenDocument Such request in IE shows frameset with data hard to parse, in less common browsers like Opera it informs about unsupported browser. Ideally if it is possible to fetch notes message contents and all attachments by requesting it in the url, has anybody some information what request would it be? • Cleaning up nasty characters in PHP

  Hi folks, Got a little issue where my client is pasting in content from Word into my little text editor in a CMS. The double quotes are coming back encoded in what looks like some form of UTF. Any ideas if I can strip/replace these using PHP when they get displayed out of my mySQL table. • Javascript/iframe/embed/object question

  OK, so here is my issue. I'm building a system which will allow people to embed lists of links on their pages. When the link is clicked, i'd like to use something like Lightview or Lightwindow to open it up over the whole window, not just in the iframe. I don't have access to the page that the user will be embedding this object into. Everything I've tried so far tells me that I can't open anything over the parent window, since I don't have access to it from the iframe or object, javacript security issue. However, I've seen sites that do that kind of overlay. so it must be possible. If anyone can point me to any resources that could help, that would be great. if it matters, i'm using Ruby on Rails... • Explanation for expires header

  I have a joomla application working on Apache.To improve site performace we have written a .htaccess file to root of the application with setting a far future expires header to all the static content. As desired first time the files load in fresh with 200 status code. when again click on the same link many of the files are served directly from cache. I need explanation for two things When i press f5 then a number of files load with 304 status code however i expected them to be coming directly from cache without hitting the server for a status header? When i close the browser and come back to the same page again i see the same thing happening a number of files load with 304 status code although i thought they will load directly from the browser cache? I understand that 304 also servs file from browser cache but i want to avoid the header communication between servers as my static files wont ever change. Also i want to add that my requests are over a https connection does that create any issue.

  Hi, I'm using Sketchflow in Expression Blend 4 RC (although this is relevant to Blend 3 too). I have a screen with a datagrid on it (MainScreen) and there's a "New" button. I have a component screen that has a generic form (GenericForm) and a "Save and close" button. I have two states on MainScreen: State1 (and default): GenericForm visibility set to Hidden State2: GenericForm visibility set to Visible The "New" button on MainScreen has: Active State = State2, meaning when the "New" button is pressed, it changes the state of MainScreen to State2 (where the GenericForm component is visible). My problem is that I cannot link the "Save and close" button on GenericForm to State1 on MainScreen. In effect I would like to be able to press "Save and close" and for the MainScreen to set its state to State1. Any ideas?

  Hi all, I allready asked at: Is it possible to call unmanaged code using C# reflection from managed code ? if it is possible to call C/C++ library unmanaged function with Invoke and reflection from .NET and the answer is yes. What I am not clear about is can I call using P/Invoke ANY assembly written/compiled/build with other compilers on my Windows PC like Labwindows/CVI(have some kind of C compiler) or Java written dll's, exe.   Hello there, I just want to know what is your opinion about how to fingerprint/verify html/links structure. The problem I want to solve is: fingerprint for example 10 different sites, html pages. And after some time I want to have possibility to verify them, so is, if site has been changed, links changed, verification fails, othervise verification success. My base Idea is to analyze link structure by splitting it in some way, doing some kind of tree, and from that tree generate some kind of code. But I'm still in brainstorm stage, where I need to discuss this with someone, and know other ideas. So any ideas, algos, and suggestions would be usefull.

There is quite good but complicated implementation in GSL, but I don't want to use such a big library only to get one function. I would like to either, implement it on my own or link some simple library. Do you know any sources that could help me? I'm looking for any books/articles about numerical approximation of beta PDF, libraries where it could be implemented. Any other suggestions would be also appreciated. Any programming language, but C++/C# preffered.

  I have FK and PK all over my db and table data needs to be specified in a certain order or else I get FK/PK insertion errors. I'm tired of executing the wizard again and again to transfer data one table at a time. In the SQL Server export data wizard there is an option to "Write a query to specify the data to transfer". I'd like to write the query myself and specify the correct order. Will this solve my problem? How do I do this? Can you provide a sample query (or link to one) The databases are on two different servers - SQL Server 2008 on each ; The database names & permissions are the same ; each table name & col is the same ; I need Identity Insert for each table.

• Problem making ant compile my classes present in different Eclipse projects into single destination

  I have close to about 20 projects in my Eclipse workspace. They are interdependent. Now I want to build all of them in a single war file. The thing is eclipse does it nicely... if I create a Dynamic Web Project and link sources of all the 20 projects. But I want to automate the entire process and want to be able to run a script (ant maybe..) and deploy a war in my app server. My approach: I started with a simple approach. I tried to sequentially build each project (javac task) with destination directory as web-inf of my war. But it is giving me weird errors like : package " ** " not found,when it shows the same all the required classes in classpath (I used verbose) Do you think, a continous integration engine will be better for my case (20 projects..) I saw Team City, but didnt get it the first time...

  Hi guys, as the comments always have it, you can select to show the top 5 comments (which i know how) and if there is more than 5, you can click a link and it will show the following 5 comments. The problem is that i don't know how the code should be for it to show the next 5. Better idea of what i'm saying Let's say i have 10 comments, i use SELECT * FROM news ORDER BY ID DESC LIMIT 5 that will show the TOP 5 comments say, the comments with ID 10,9,8,7,6 but what if i want the comments with ID 5,4,3,2,1 ?

  I am trying to learn the following things: How mp3 file looks like internally? I found this: http://mpgedit.org/mpgedit/mpeg_format/MP3Format.html but it seems old. Is there any recent changes to the format? I couldnt find any. How to open a mp3 file in java and look for bytes? I tried using audiostream but I am getting a lot of zeros and signed short integers which nowhere resemble the header/body format as mentioned in the above link. Am I wrong in interpreting the bytes? How to get amplitude, frequency and pitch of a mp3 file? No idea. Can you please suggest some book or tutorial? Can you please help me in getting the solution for the above questions?
