• How to handle "100 continue" HTTP message ?

  Hello, I'm writing a simplistic HTTP server that will accept PUT requests mostly from cURL as client and I'm having a bit of an issue with handling the "Expect: 100-continue" header. As I understand it, the server is supposed to read the header, send back a "HTTP/1.1 100 Continue" response on the connection, read the stream up to the value on "Content-Length" and then send back the real response code (Usually "HTTP/1.1 200 OK" but any other valid HTTP answer should do). Well, that's exactly what my server does. The problem is that, apparently, if I send a "100 Continue" answer, cURL fails to report any subsequent HTTP error code and assumes the upload was a success. For instance, if the upload is rejected due to the nature of the content (there is a basic data check happening), I want the calling client to detect the problem and act accordingly. Am I missing something obvious ? Thanks

  Hello, I'm going to implement a (simple) downloader application in Java as a personal exercise. It is going to run several jobs in different threads, in a way that I will be downloading a few files at the same time at all times during execution. I want to be able to define a download rate limit that is shared between all the download jobs, but I don't know how to do it even for a single download task. How should I go about doing this?   Hello, As the question states, i have implemented my first ICallbackEventHandler. In my c# callback function i use: Page.Validate("ENewsLetter2"); if (Page.IsValid) { if (!RegularExpressionValidatorEmail.IsValid) { sInvalidMessage += "Invalid E-Mail address.\n"; } return sInvalidMessage; } everytime i check the RegularExpressionValidatorEmail, the value is = "". I do not know if this is since the iCallbackEventHandler is asynchronous, the validator has not talked to the server yet so the value will always show up blank? Is it impossible to do what i am trying to do by using a iCallbackEventHandler?

• haar transformation on an image

  hello, i need some help with haar transformation, i have to apply it on an image. My math is bad, my english not all that awesome and i find it hard to understand from articles on the internet. I found this page http://www.cs.ucf.edu/~mali/haar/haar.cpp where the haar transformation is applied on 2d matrix. I suppose if i give image pixels matrix in there, it should work? im confused about this stuff, could someone enlighten me a bit please? Thank you!

  Hello, In my app, i've created the TList type list where i store the pointers to 1 string and 2 float(real) values for every 3 items. aList.Add(@sName); //string aList.Add(@x1); //float aList.Add(@x2); //float Then, i want to get the values out from the list, but i could only do that for string sStr := string(lList.items[i]); But i couldn't get the float values as a := real(lList...) will result in an invalid typecast error. So what do i do to get the float values? Of course i have a question if that string casting will actually give me the string value. I'm not good at pointer stuff so i don't know how to do it.

  Hello, I have this following code: $(".preview").find("#panel").each(function(i, val) { var x = "" + $(val).html(); $(x).find(".dmPageHeadline").prepend(" 1 - "); console.log($(x).html()); html += $(x).html(); }); This code iterates through all accordion panels, concatenates its content and add " 1 - " to the header ( class "dmPageHeadline" ). Probably it's a simple detail, but i cannot figure it out... this line $(x).find(".dmPageHeadline").prepend(" 1 - "); doesn't preprend the desired text. Anyone can point me out what is wrong here? • How can I force a subscriber to be synchronized from a local snapshot?

  Hello, I have a SQL 2005 server replicating(merge\push) to SQL 2005 and SQL 2000 servers. I have multiple subscribers spread througout the United states. I have set , @snapshot_in_defaultfolder = N'false', @alt_snapshot_folder = N'c:\snapshots\Merge\' (sample location). I take the snapshot from the publisher that is in the same location, 'c:\snapshots\Merge\', and copy it to the subscribers. I wanted to avoid applying the snapshot over the WAN but from the performance I am getting the synchronization is going over the WAN. Does anybody have any ideas how to make sure that I am using the local copy of the snapshot and not the copy at the publisher? Thanks

• Python extension building with boost

  Hey guys I'm fairly new to boost c/c++ library. I downloaded boost library and build the library. I created a very simple python library in c++ using boost interface (actually it is example code given in the documentation). I built it into a dll file. In the documentation it reads that this dll is exposed to python and they just show the import function in python and include the created library. I don't understand how to expose that dll to python and load the library inside in tradition ('import') manner. • Why jquery.animate on a textarea make the blinking cursor disapears?

  Hello everyone. I have the following code $(document).ready(function() { $("#myTextArea").focus(function() { $("#myTextArea").animate({ "height": "75px"}, "normal"); return false; }); to expand a textbox when it gets focus. The expand occurs, however the blinking cursor disapears, at least in Firefox! Edited: The textarea is still focused, and i can type on it. Why does this happen? Is there a way to show it again? • Delphi developer switching to C#

  Hello, I'm a Delphiholic for quite some time now and lately I was thinking of learning some C# as well, however I'm kinda' "afraid of the unknown", I've done some simple apps as a test drive for C# and I have to admit that I've liked it, HOWEVER I do not really like the IDE... that being said here's the question that I would appreciate if others who went down this path would answer: As a Delphi developer what are the "main basic" changes from the Delphi language(by basic I mean basic -- utility functions, streams, etc.), I'm used to add "System, Classes, Windows" to uses not "use System.XXX.YYY.ZZZ", I'm trying to make a partial equality in my mind from Delphi to C# until I can see where does Delphi go hand-in-hand with C# and so on... I hope the question is pretty clear, if not, do not hesitate to swear me and I'll try to clarify as well as I can :-)

  Hello, I'm using the jQuery hotkeys plugin here: https://github.com/tzuryby/jquery.hotkeys The plugin prevents hot keys from firing when you are inside an input field. In my case, I want a hotkey to fire when inside an input box, not all but one in particular: $(function() { $(document).bind('keydown', 'Shift+return',function (evt) { alert('got it') }); }); Any ideas on how jQuery Hotkeys can be patched to allow for shift+return to be fired when inside an input/textarea field? but not fired for all the other hotkey bindings? • SSL and Tomcat using Java

  Hello all, I'm new to SSL connections so here goes my question. I have a desktop Java program in a JAR file. This JAR sends sensitive information over the internet to a remote Tomcat server. Of course I need to encrypt the data. If I purchase an SSL cerfiticate say from Verisign, will the data sent over SSL be automatically encrypted? I mean in my JAR, will I still need to do extra work like use Java encryption extensions API to manually encrypt my data over the SSL connection? Thank you.

  Hello, I would like to start developing mobile-friendly versions of websites for my clients, however, I am baffled with options and google search wasn't very helpful - there is so many options and opinions, I've been reading for few days now and still have no idea how to start. What's your opinion/experience about/with it? My main points: mobile devices supported (in order of relevance): iPhone 3G, iPhone 2G, Blackberry, Droid powered mobiles, other phone friendly numbers, phone friendly emails contact/register form working on each (or the most possible) devices listed jQTouch seems superb (simple, quick, working), I'm not sure about it on blackberry/droid and I don't want to create 6 web versions for each mobile device - Makes even less sense if you consider, that I'm starting with small web (6-10 pages, 1 contact form, 3 register forms) to play with.   hello, using XMLHttpRequest it is not possible to open a connection to a document on a different domain than where the page itself is hosted. but what about different ports? for example i have a webserver running on my machine listening on port 80 so the webaddress would look like this: http://localhost:80/mypage.html and i have another webserver running on localhost which is meant to process the ajax requests but listens on a different port. so the javascript in mypage.html would look like this: var xmlhttprequest = new XMLHttpRequest(); xmlhttp.open("GET", "http://localhost:1234/?parameters", true); xmlhttp.send(); would this work? or will it give a security exception as well?

• Escaping quotes twice in PHP

  Hello, I have a complicated form where I first have to take some _GET parameters and obviously I have to do a mysql_real_escape_string() on them since I look stuff up in the database with them. Them problem for me is after the initial db lookup. When the user submits a form, I send them along as a _POST request and obviously have to do this mysql_real_escape_string call again just in case someone tries to hack my site with a faked form submission. Then the problem I have is the arguments are escaped twice and my queries begin to look strange like this: select field1 , field2 , from my_table where some_id = \'.$lookup_id.\' ... So the system seems to be adding \' and it is messing me up :) Also, in my other forms I have not seen such behavior. Any ideas on what may be causing this? One weird thing is that I tried to send unescaped parameters to the post, and the same problem happens. That is a clue, but not a sufficient one for me. :( Thanks, Alex

• Is there a unified way to know if a node is visible or not?

  Hello guys, I'd like to be able to know if a node is visible and rendered on screen. As far as I know, there are at least 3 standard and easy ways of making HTML nodes not visible: Setting opacity: 0; Setting display: none; Setting visibility: hidden. I could check for just these three, but I'm afraid people can get creative when it comes to ways of hiding contents: Sending the element offscreen using negative margins; Using a width or height of 0 and hiding overflow; many more I trust people to have developed. So I was wondering if there is a standard way of determining if a node is rendered to the screen. I'm pretty sure all major browsers determine it for themselves to accelerate drawing, so maybe it's somehow exposed.

First one you fill in some requests, then you select time and date, and last step is to fill in your name and address etc. How should the validation be taken care of, since I also need to validate all "3 steps" when pressing submit on the last step. Do I need to have 4 viewmodels there? like step1model, step2model...... and then validateallmodel? And must I use some session-like in between since it "redirect's" to next step if successful? /M

For example, if SrchVals1 shows the following records in the combobox: First Title Second Title Third Title I would like to concatenate so that the records in the combobox look like this: Sub: First Title Sub: Second Title Sub: Third Title I understand that I might have to use a foreach statement; however, I am having no luck writing one that adds "Sub: " in front of each record, as opposed to one.
