I've looked through the entire output and there are NO references to http: I've searched for unsource Iframes, which cause this message, and there are none and other than jquery 1.4 there isn't even the text "iframe" in the source. • I'm using the jQuery .scroll() function, why can't I override its effects with another function?

  I'm using the jQuery .scroll() function to make a certain element fade to 0.2 opacity. Since there is no native "scrollstop" indicator, I decided to make the element fade back to 1.0 opacity on hover. However, it doesn't work. Here's my code: $(document).ready(function() { $(window).scroll(function() { $("#navlist").animate({ opacity: 0.2 }, 2000); }); $("#navlist").hover( function() { $(this).animate({ opacity: 1 }, 500); }, function() { $(this).animate({ opacity: 1 }, 500); // just to be safe? } ); }); When I scroll, the #navlist element fades, but when you hover over it nothing happens. But if you refresh the page when you're half way down, the element automatically fades as soon as you refresh, before I've scrolled, and if you try to hover to fade it back in, nothing happens. Any thoughts?

• Is it posibble to send websocket data over 126 chars?

  Its seems that everybody says that it is possible to send over 126 chars of data over websocket. I looked at many websocket server examples on the web and non of them can transfer over 126 chars from client to server and from server to client. I understand that it is something with dataframes and opcodes but i never figured it out. I'm using C#. Can somebody please put some light on this subject? any code example for receiving and sending data over 126 chars will be very very thankful

The following code works to reorder my list without any apparent problems in Firefox; however, IE prompts with the message "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" • Need help with jQuery/AJAX call in Safari/Mac

  I've got something that works perfectly in FF and MSIE but it's not working properly in Safari. It's a form with selects that get updated via AJAX/jQuery from a MySQL DB. In Safari, when you select the first item, it correctly loads the options for the next select menu; however, when you choose one of those (which loads new options in a subsequent select menu), the whole form resets and is broken from that point on. Does anyone know of a Safari bug that would cause this? • Google Chrome is doing things wrong again

  Chrome is wrongly reporting width and height values for images during, or just after, load time. Jquery is used in this code example: <img id='image01' alt='picture that is 145x134' src='/images/picture.jpg' /> <script> var img = $( 'img#image01' ) img.width() // would return 145 in Firefox and 0 in Chrome. img.height() // would return 134 in Firefox and 0 in Chrome. </script> If you put the script in a onload function, the result is the same. but if you run the code a few seconds after the page has loaded, chrome returns the correct result. <script> function example () { var img = $( 'img#image01' ); img.width() // returns 145 in both Firefox and Chrome. img.height() // returns 134 in both Firefox and Chrome. } window.setTimeout( example, 1000 ) </script> Also if you specify the width and height values in the img tag, the script seems to work as expected in both Firefox and Chrome. <img id='image01' src='/images/picture.jpg' width=145 height=134 /> But as you cannot always control the html input, this is not an ideal workaround. Can jQuery be patched with a better workaround for this problem? or will I need to specify the width and height for every image in my code?

  This is probably a very common question, but I was unable to find an answer myself; All my list elements call the function setQuery like this onClick="admin_stats.setQuery(this);" rather than [hardcode] add this to every list element, is there a way to simply have it run when a list element is clicked? • Illegal Character in File Name

  Hi, During my file upload process, I found illegal character getting saved in Table. zurück.pdf, C _Word.doc were the file names. Here ü, space between C and _Word was found as ? in the Table Column. I have validate the filename in client side by replacing non-alpha numeric values by _ (underscore), but still it escapes and persist into DB. How can these handled in Client side?

• changing window.location without triggering refresh

  I have an AJAX form that submits GET requests. Because these are all GET requests these should be easily bookmark-able. Preferably I'd make my Ajax request, update the screen and then update window.location.href to be the URL for the new page. Unfortunately this reloads the page. Is there any way I can get around this? Basically I'd like the URL bar to be a permalink bar, but it needs to be able to change to keep up with the state of the page. window.location.hash is no good because that doesn't get sent to the server.

• How to override browser default download behavior for files?

  Lots of times we have to download files from the net. In IE we get to see the ugly download progress bar. In firefox we get to see a pop-up window opening etc. However, I have never seen this being over ridden in any manner. Until recently on the site *thesixtyone DOT com* If we get to download a song free and click on the ok link to start the download we get a pop up to select location in the default style of windows. • Disabled Checkboxes

  Hi, Hoping someone can assist or point me in the right direction to another thread/url with regards to disabled checkboxes. I basically have a couple of checkboxes in my form, that are not database items but am retrieving the source value based on a database column. As I do not want the user to be able to change these checboxes, I have disabled these checboxes When I query a record, the form at start-up retrieves the value for the checkbox with no issues. The problem is, when I hit a validation error on my form when the page is submitted, my checkbox values that were originally retrieved as 'Y', i.e checked are now null. Can anyone pls assist with what is going on or a workaround inorder to maintain these values when a validation error occurs. Thanks.

  window.resize event in IE doesnt do what i thought it does. I thought it only triggered when the physical window/view-port changed size (ie user hits maximize on the browser window for example), but it is also triggered if i change the document size, introducing scroll bars. is there any way to tell those two things apart: view port resize, and document resize without writing an elaborate hack?

  I have been using a tidy little routine that I found here to calculate the difference in days between two dates in AS3. I am getting some strange results and I am wondering if any of you inter-codal-mega-lords can shed some light? Why is Q1 of 2010 coming up one day short, when in all other cases the routine is performing fine? • Get client timezone (not GMT offset amount) in JS

  I need to determine the client timezone (e.g. CET, GMT, EST) in JS. Getting the offset is straightforward, but doesn't have all the info necessary to determine the TZ, at least not easily. I have a feeling it might be possible to use a combination of offset, whether DST is in use and in effect, etc. but I'm hoping someone else has done the work already, especially considering the weird exceptions when dealing with time. This question is similar but both the question and the answer are based on the (incorrect) assumption every browser's DateString format includes the name of the timezone - which it does not. That is an implementation detail. So, with that I am currently stuck.
