    Heres my saga - I'm trying to link http://www.example.com to my shopping cart on https://secure.example.com, but it doesnt seem to be linking correctly. Using firecookie, it does indeed share the same cookie between site and cart, and the cookies domain is 'example.com'. I'm pretty sure though that if it was working right, all my utmz, utma values etc should be copied over and remain the same, but they're changing. I've copied all the params that are being sent to google analytics and pasted then below. It shows what is happening from my homepage, to my product page, then into my cart all the way to the page before ordering. ( I can't practically test the final page myself without buying something, so I'll post the code from our confirmation page later if needed.) I've studied the help does but none of the cases seem to fit mine.     I am writing a C# function for doing dynamic range compression (an audio effect that basically squashes transient peaks and amplifies everything else to produce an overall louder sound). This function definitely produces a louder overall sound, but with an unacceptable level of distortion, even at low threshold values and low ratios. Can anybody see anything wrong with this function? Am I handling the stereo aspect correctly (the function assumes stereo input)? As I (dimly) understand things, I don't want to compress the two channels separately, so my code is attempting to compress a "virtual" mono sample value and then apply the same degree of compression to the L and R sample value separately. Not sure I'm doing it right, however. I think part of the problem may the "hard knee" of my function, which kicks in the compression abruptly when the threshold is crossed. I think I may need to use a "soft knee" like this: Can anybody suggest a modification to my function to produce the soft knee curve?

    I am trying to get validation to work in ASP.NET MVC 2, but without much success. I have a complex class containing a large number of fields. (Don't ask - this is oneo f those real-world situations best practices can't touch) This would normally be my Model and is a LINQ-to-SQL generated class. I tried doing it via an Interface, but also no effect. I'm beginning to think that the reason is because I am encapsulating my model within a ViewModel. I'm after the mechanism demoed by Jon Galloway at http://www.asp.net/learn/mvc-videos/video-10082.aspx. (Am aware t is similar to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1260562/asp-net-mvc-model-viewmodel-validation but that post seems to talk about xVal. I have no idea what that is and suspect it is for MVC 1)

When I double-click a .wlog file, it opens up my application. However, it doesn't open the correct file. I read somewhere that JNLP was supposed to pass parameters to the main method indicating which file caused the app to be launched, but this is not happening (on OS X 10.6). I get an empty array to my application's main method. Probably unrelated, my splash screen doesn't work :( Any pointers on getting this working?

  • Setting custom UITableViewCells height

    I am using a custum UITableViewCell which has some labels, buttons and imageviews to be displayed. There is one label in the cell whose text is a NSString object and the length of string could be variable. Due to this, I cannot set a constant height to the cell in the UITableViews: heightForCellAtIndex method. The cell's height depends on the labels height which can be determined using the NSStrings sizeWithFont method. I tried using it, but it looks like I'm going wrong somewhere. How can it be fixed? The summary of the issue is that the default gateway is set to 192.168.254.253, but that it is actually using a default gateway of 192.168.254.254. In particular, I was going to look for ICMP redirects, though why there would be an ICMP redirect at all is not really sensible? .254 used to be the default gateway before the fibre was installed. Any ideas? Doesn't make sense to me why there should be this routing issue :( The Draytek Dual WAN Router was rebooted, the PC was rebooted. The PC had the network disabled and then re-enabled. All the standard stuff when Windows looses the plot. Hopefully somebody recognises the symptoms! PS: Sorry for the long post, but I didn't want to leave something potentially relevant out. PPS: No iSCSI involved on/at this or any other workstation so Windows 7 routing traffic through the gateway for local addresses isn't the issue.

    Hi, My W2K3 server was running TFS 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Development edition. I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard. I installed it while leaving SQL Server 2005 alone. Upgrading was not possible due to the differences in editions of the SQL Servers. Now TFS is broken.     I wanted to share knowledge of tuning FreeBSD via sysctls, so i'm posting them with comments. Based on Igor Sysoev (author of nginx) presentation about FreeBSD tuning up to 100,000-200,000 active connections. Sysctls are for 7.x FreeBSD. Since 7.2 amd64 some of them are tuned well by default. Prior 7.0 some of them are boot only (set via /boot/loader.conf) or does not exist at all.   • Windows 7 AIK help

    I've just got in a few Windows 7 (64, Windows 7 Professional) machines, and I'm trying to get the AIK 2010 working. I've set up one of the machines, and installed AIK and MDT on it. I've followed the directions at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd349348%28WS.10%29.aspx about 3 times now, and also tried the built-in .chm help files that came with AIK. In AIK I grab the install.wim image off the OEM cd, at which point it asks me which version (I select Professional). I follow the rest of the instructions creating a new Autounattend answer file, and fill in the various bits and pieces according the the step-by-step guides. I verify the Answer file (No warnings or errors), save it, and copy it onto a USB drive. I go to another machine, insert it's OEM Win7 Disk, and power on. I've set BIOS to boot from CD, so it goes directly into the installation. Once The files are loaded, and Setup starts, it immediately asks which version to install (Home basic, Home Premium, Professiona, Ultimate). Ugh, I thought it was supposed to be an automated install, and that selecting the Version when opening the .wim file would answer this question. I looked for an option to set which version to be installed on the net, in the help, and in AIK itself; to no avail. Anyway, just for laughs I select Professional,and hit continue. It copies files for about 10 seconds, then fails with the following error: "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information. [OK]". Clicking OK reboots the box, and obviously there are no log files because the OS isn't installed. It is a Dell Optiplex 380 , Intel Core Duo 2.93 GHzl 4 GB RAM, 64 Bit. Any help would be REALLY appreciated.

  • Getting Perl DBD::mysql working on OS X 10.7?

    I can't seem to get Perl & MySQL to talk to each other on OS X 10.7 Lion. I did all the installs by the book, I used Oracle's PKG installer for the latest MySQL Community Server, and I installed DBI and DBD::mysql via CPAN. There were not problems at all during the install, but, when I try to USE DBD::mysql to connect to my local DB server I get the following error: install_driver(mysql) failed: Can't load '/Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle' for module DBD::mysql: dlopen(/Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle, 1): Library not loaded: /usr/local/mysql/lib/libmysqlclient.16.dylib Referenced from: /Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bundle Reason: image not found at /System/Library/Perl/5.12/darwin-thread-multi-2level/DynaLoader.pm line 204. at (eval 3) line 3 Compilation failed in require at (eval 3) line 3.   • Removing SCIM input method as default from gnome terminal

    Hello - I am recently back into the Linux world after about a 10 year absence. While I can find my way around most things, terminals and desktop managers are different than I remember. One of the biggest problems that I am encountering today is that when running a gnome terminal (this is Suse 10.0 enterprise), I'm getting behavior in the window that I don't want. Specifically, when I type, my typing is underlined as if something is trying to spell check my window. Further, it seems as if when running vi or less, my keystrokes are only processed by these apps when I hit 'return'. I.e. if I'm running less and want to go back a page, I'll hit b, but nothing happens until I hit 'return'. I seem to have tracked this down to the 'input method". Right clicking in the Gnome terminal allows me to set my input method to one of a dozen values. It seems that currently, it's set to "SCIM Input Method". If I then select 'default' or 'X Input Method', apps (i.e. things like less, vi, and even the bash shell) behave as I would expect. Can someone tell me a) what is this SCIM input method b) how can I make it so that it is not the default? I've poked around various configuration files in my home directory as well as in /etc, but I can't see to find how this is set. I guess as a final question, can I just get rid of SCIM? Or is that tied into the window manager somehow? I do appreciate any clarifications that I can get. Thanks.

So, I'm guessing I need to either hide or replace the Location header somehow? I'm a programmer and not a server admin so I have no idea what to do... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, might I add that we're running more than 1 server, so the configuration would need to be transferable to any server with any private address.

  • Powershell Script Scheduled Task Stopped Running (Could not Start)

    I'm running a scheduled task (for Powershell Script) on Windows 2003 Server. I believe the script works fine. The task is scheduled to run every 10 minutes from 7:00am to 11:50pm everyday. However, it never gets to run more for than a day. It always stops some time in the afternoon (between 2pm and 6pm). I'm not sure exactly what happened but I always get the error The attempt to log on to the account associated with the task failed, therefore, the task did not run. The specific error is: 0x80070569: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. Verify that the task's Run-as name and password are valid and try again. It seems like most people with this error are saying that they need to make user "logon as a batch job". However, this option is greyed-out for me. I search for other places where users have similar problems but the solutions are not written in detail (some of them have something to do with GPO). I've only used the basic features of Windows Server and I have no clue how to get to the place they are referring to. Can someone please confirm whether "logon as a batch job" is indeed a solution and provide a detailed walkthrough on how to solve my problem? Thanks. p.s. someone suggested the website http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755659(v=ws.10) I tried to followed the method for web server with domain. However, got stuck on the 6th step where it mentions Group Policy Object. I don't know where it is.

  • windows 7 clock jumps back about every hour + internet disconnects

    I have the weirdest problem, for the last few days every hour or so (not exact) the clock jumps about back in jumps of 15 to 60 minutes and after some time the internet disconnects. i can reconnect the internet by unplugging and plugging back the network cable. This is the second time this problem happens to me, the first time was when I installed VirtualBox. whaen I removed it the problem was gone. This time I have no idea what triggered it, the only thing I installed about the time the problem started was iTunes update (10.5.1) I tried removing it but the problem remained. (also tried to remove other programs i installed day or 2 before and it also didn't help) also, this is not a VM and currently I don't have any VM software. any ideas..? UPDATE since the solution is in the comments i'll write it here - apparently the windows time service got broken, this is the fix: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc738995(WS.10).aspx (run "fix it" from IE browser only) UPDATE 2 The fix didn't work, about 2 hours passed and first the internet disconnected and then the clock jumped back... This probably means that the problem is not only in the clock

  • EMERGENCY! Update Statement for critical mysql production database now running for 18 hours, need help.

    We have a table with 500 million rows. Unfortunately, one of the columns was int(11), which is a signed int, and it was an incrementing value that just rolled over the 2.1 billion magic number. This immediately caused downtime for about 10.000 users. We discussed many solutions, and decided that we could just roll back this value safely, by say, a billion. But we had to roll it back for every row. Here is what we did: update Table1 Set MessageId = case when MessageId < 1073741824 then 0 else MessageId - 1073741824 end; I tested this on a table with 10 million rows and it took 11 minutes. So I assumed the larger table would take 550 minutes, or 9 hours. This was going to be our biggest downtime in 3 years. (We're a startup). It's now going on 18 hours. What should we do? Please don't say what we should have done. I think we should have updated a few million rows at a time. Is there a way we can see progress? Could Mysql have hung? Using mysql 5.0.22. Thanks!

    UPDATED: Now, when I type my external ip like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8079, i can access xampp defaults page. But the strange is that when someone else from outside my network, try to access it using the same ip, it doesnt work. I Think it should, because its the external ip. I'm getting crazy. I have tried for hours to access xampp defaults page from outside my local network. My ISP blocks port 80 and 8080. So I changed apache to listen to port 8079 Listen 8079 My local computer ip is 10.1.1.2 I can access the webserver, from any computer on my local network when I type http://10.1.1.2:8079 I also oppended the port 8079 on my modem, as the image shows bellow. (I think i did it right) When apache is running on my computer, if I test the port 8079 at http://canyouseeme.org/ i get the message "Success: I can see your service on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on port (8079) Your ISP is not blocking port 8079" If apache is not running I get "Error: I could not see your service on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on port (8079) Reason: Connection refused". So, it's clear that the port 8079 is oppened. But when I type xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8079 on google chrome for example, I get Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8079 What can I do to solve this, to allow apache to server the pages? I don't know what else I shoud configure. Please, help me. Thanks.

My tabview: <h:form id="form"> <p:tabView id="tabview" activeIndex="#{ctrl.idx}" dynamic="true" cache="false"> <p:ajax event="tabChange" listener="#{ctrl.doStuff}" update=":form:tabview"/> <p:tab title="Tab 1" id="t1"> <h:panelGrid columns="1" cellpadding="10"> <h:outputText value="#{ctrl.s1}"/> </h:panelGrid> </p:tab> <p:tab title="Tab 2" id="t2"> <h:panelGrid columns="1" cellpadding="10"> <h:outputText value="#{ctrl.s2}"/> </h:panelGrid> </p:tab> </p:tabView> </h:form> My test code that simly changes the values: public void doStuff() { s1 = String.valueOf(Math.random()); s2 = String.valueOf(Math.random()); } I thought that changing the active tab index in my method would be enough, like that: public void doStuff() { // ... idx = 0; } On tabChange event, the method is called but the tabview components goes to the clicked tab, ignoring the idx new value. I thought adding an update attribute to p:ajax would render the whole tabview but only the tabs and/or the tabs' content is re rendered. And weirdest of all, if I change update=":form:tabview" to update=":form" or update="@form", I only receive the tab's content in the ajax response - the component disappears from the page! My bean is viewscoped, I'm using Primefaces 3.5, JSF 2.1 and Tomcat 7. Any idea? Thanks.

  • WPF - ListView within listView Scrollbar problem

    So I currently have a ListView "List A" who's items each have an expander control which contains another ListView "List B". The problem I am having is that sometimes List B grows so big that it extends beyond the range of List A's view area. List A's scroll bars do not pick up the fact that parts of List B are not being displayed. Is there a way to setup my xaml so that the scroll bars for List A will detect when the list inside the expander is longer then the viewing area of List A.   • Best laptop for .NET and Java programmer [closed]

    I am planning to buy a new laptop and would like to know if I should go for an i3, i5 or an i7 based laptop? I do most of my development in Visual Studio 2010 and also use Eclipse and Weblogic 10. Also planning to use WPF/Silverlight in the future. Will going for a i7 really benefit me or an i3 or an i5 will suffice for my needs?
