    Hello. I have a many-to-many relations table and I need to DELETE the unneeded rows. The lastviews table's structure is: | user (int) | document (int) | time (datetime) | This table logs the last users which viewed the document. (user, document) is unique. I show only the last 10 views of a document and until now I deleted the unneeded like this: DELETE FROM `lastviews` WHERE `document` = ? AND `user` NOT IN (SELECT * FROM (SELECT `user` FROM `lastviews` WHERE `document` = ? ORDER BY `time` DESC LIMIT 10) AS TAB) However, now I need to also show the last 5 documents a user has viewed. This means I can no longer delete rows using the previous query because it might delete information I need (say a user didn't view documents in 5 minutes and the rows are deleted) To sum up, I need to delete all the records that don't fit these 2 criterias: SELECT ... FROM `lastviews` WHERE `document` = ? ORDER BY `time` DESC LIMIT 10 and SELECT * FROM `lastviews` WHERE `user` = ? ORDER BY `time` DESC LIMIT 0, 5 I need the logic. Thanks in advance.

    Can anybody help me with the syntax? insert into history (company,partnumber,price) values ('blah','IFS0090','0.00') if company NOT IN ('blah','blah2','blah3','blah4','blah4') and partnumber='IFS0090'; Background: I have a history table which stores daily company, products and prices. But sometimes a company will remove itself for a few days. Complicating the issue is because I'm only saving daily CHANGES to prices only and not snapshotting the entire days list (the data would be huge) when I display the data the company will still come up for the previous days price. So I need to do something like this, where a 0.00 price means they're no longer there.

    First, I wanna compare between 2 tables tb_wrapper and tb_summary to get the data in the tb_wrapper that doesn't exist in the tb_summary then save in $link. If I don't get the same data, I want to print the result $link. When I don't get the not same data, I want it to go to another process. For integers values(like users putting in prices), i just: is_numeric(). --How should I use htmlspecialchars? Should I use it only when echoing and displaying user data? Or should I also use this too when inputting data to a dbc? --When should I use strip_tags() or htmlspecialchars?     I am currently using Java to insert and update data multiple times per second. Never having used databases with Java, I am not sure what is required, and how to get the best performance. I currently have a method for each type of query I need to do (for example, update a row in a database). I also have a method to create the database connection.   • File not found error on User control on production

    I made 2 usercontrols for sharepoint 2007 site. Everything is working fine on test server. I deployed it on production but only 1 got deployed and placed properly. The second user control is added n deployed to web part galleries but gives File not found error when i add it on web part page. I deployed it using WSP. yet it gives this error. I checked logs it did not show anything. I have no idea what to do. please help.   • detection of 'flush tables with read lock' in php

    I would like to know from my application if a myisam table can accept writes (i.e. not locked). If an exception is thrown, everything is fine as I can catch this and log the failed statement to a file. However, if a 'flush tables with read lock' command has been issued (possibly for backup), the query I send will pretty much hang out forever. If one table is locked at a time, insert delayed works well. But when this global lock is applied, my query just waits. The query I run is an insert statement. If this statement fails or hangs, user experience is degraded. I need a way to send the query to the server and forget about it (pretty much). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this? -set a query timeout? -run asyncronous request and allow for the lock to expire while application continues? -fork my php process? Please let me know if I can provide and clarification or details.

    In phpMyAdmin under operations I can "Copy database to:" and select Structure and data CREATE DATABASE before copying Add AUTO_INCREMENT value I need to be able to do that without using phpMyAdmin. I know how to create the database and user. I have a source database that's a shell that I can work from so all I really need is the how to copy all the table structure and data part. (I know, the harder part) system() & exec() are not options for me which rules out mysqldump. (I think) How can I loop through each table and recreate it's structure and data? Is it just looping through the results of SHOW TABLES then for each table looping through DESCRIBE tablename Then, is there an easy way for getting the data copied?

I want to loop though colA first, get the relevant colB value, and check if there are any other occurrences of the same value. For example in colB (seq11) there are 2 occurrences of colA(seq1), this time I have to combine those and output the sum of the length. Similar to this: ID colA colB Length 1 seq1 seq11 12 2 seq3 seq33 35 I am a bit java guy, but because my colleague has written everything in php and this will be just an adding, i need a php solution. With java i would have used hashmap, so that I would have the colA data once and just increment the value of "Length Column".. I know it is not a proper question, but..   • Relating text fields to check boxes in Java

    This program requires the user to login and request a database to access. The program then gets a connection object, searches through the database storing the column names into a vector for later use. The problem comes with implementing text fields to allow the user to search for specific values within the database. I can get the check boxes and text fields to appear using a gridlayout and add them to a panel. How do I relate the text fields to their appropriate check box? I've tried adding them to a vector, but then they can't also be added to the panel as well. I've searched for a way to name the text fields as the loop cycles through the column names, but it seems impossible to do without having them declared ahead of time. This can't be done either, as it's impossible to determine the attributes that the user will request. I just need to be able to know the names of the text fields so I can test to see if the user entered information and perform the necessary logic. Let me know if you have to see the rest of the code to give an answer, but hopefully you get the general idea of what I'm trying to accomplish.     Ok, so I'm in need to restore a table and I do: mysqldump --opt database table_name < table_name.sql I hit enter and Done! Well, not really, when I go to see if there is anything on the table it show 0 records. I have look into the table_name.sql and I see two records. What am I doing wrong?

  • PHP - displaying 1 random record for each week

    I want to display 1 random record from a database based on the week. I need to determine if it's a new, and if it is a new week, then select the record and display the new record. I'm thinking I can just use a single day of the week to generate the new record, either way will work. I'm really having a hard time conceptualizing how I'll store the record id and not select a new one when someone visits again the same day or refreshes the page. Any ideas? Let me know if I wasn't clear enough.
