  I have created activex control in vb6. It has standard label with its backstyle property set as transperant. Also activex control form itself has property backstyle set as transperant. In Vc++ I placed this activex control in property sheet page. But i am not getting this activex control displayed in running mode. If we change backstyle property to opaque then it is working fine.   Hi all, with <property name="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">update</property> i can create my database schema, it automatically add properties, constraint, key etc... But what about UPDATE the database schema? If i remove some property from my entities, hibernate doesn't remove it, or if i change some constraint, hibernate doesn't touch constraint already created... So, there is a way to make hibernate really update the database schema? Thanks.

  I am trying to deserialize a field: "presenters":[{...},{...}] but some of the rows come back with only: "presenters":"" When the serializer gets to the row with that empty string I get: Error converting value "" to type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[DataPrototype.Model.Presenter]'. Am I right in thinking that I need a JsonConverter that will change the empty string into an empty List?

  I need to play a sound of a ball rolling and change the sound based on the ball's speed. I was using AVFoundation and just playing different samples but that didn't sound natural enough. I tried OpenAL and something like: alSourcef(sourceID, AL_PITCH, thePitch); and passing in thePitch, but didn't like the results. Does anyone have any suggestions or examples / tutorials? Thanks.

  I am working on localization project and when i change the language the UI gets disturbed because some translations are large. For example say there is button with text "Select All". But when this is localized in french it reads as "Sélectionner tout". That is larger than Select All and hence the gui gets affected. Is there any way to localize the gui as well.

If my application is named AppPrefs, this is the exact name/prompt/ title the Settings application will provide. Is there anyway to make this change?   I am migrating to wcf and trying to figure out how I'm going to declare my Data Contracts properly. Some of the types I have been demoting are from a third party that I am unable to change. Are attributes the only way to explicitly declare data contracts in wcf? I know about the auto data contract functionality in 3.5, but the books I'm readin discourage that. And besides, that way assumes all state is publically available, which is oftentimes not the case.
