• Using SQL Server for WSS 3.0 instead of Windows Internal database

  Hi Folks, There are actually two related questions: is it possible or advisable to use a full blown stand-alone SQL server for SharePoint Services WSS3.0 instead of the supplied windows internal database it comes with? The client I am working for is asking to utilize their existent SQL server for all WSS content databases to possibly minimize admin effort and improve performance. As well, would you advise to install WSS on one physical server and the content database on another server? Any gain in performace? Practicality? ect. The default is WSS and all of its databases are installed on the same single server. We don't really need a farm setup of MOSS, because the WSS capabilities are enough for our needs. Thanks, Val

  Hello, I have simple page in php which gets argument with get method. The page just prints the argument. Nothing more. It works properly with english chars. If i pass as argument value in some Unicode language (etc Russian), then the value of the argument printed as question marks. How to solve the issue? • Toottip data issue in jquery flot

  I am using Jquery plot.Every thing is working except tooltip data. • How to test Calendar Event on emulator?

  Hi everybody, I am developing an application which requires to add Calendar event. I have written the code for inserting event to the calendar. But whenever i run my application, everytime i get error that "Fail to find provider info for Calendar" and it also throws me NullPointerException error. So, what it means and i found that emulator doesn't provide Calendar application in-built. I think if the Android Emulator doesn't have Calender API, so, naturally, it will not have any database URI in the emulator whereas the Contact has URI --"content://contacts/people". I also found the URI for Calendar as "content://calendar/calendars" but it doesn't work and it means that it gives me error cause of missing Calendar application. Can anybody clarify me, with suggestions regarding Calendar Event? Which is the way to test my application with Calendar Event? I really need your help. Please needful for the same. Thanks.   I need to extract a specific Id from a html document but the problem is that the id must not "be used". Here is the html content http://pastebin.com/wF2dx8JZ As you may see there are different html blocks . Some of them contain the "Used" word so I need to extract only the first id which is not used. Basically I can write a simple pattern like : $pattern = "/javascript:tw(.*))/"; preg_match_all($pattern, $content, $matches); $id = $matches[1][0]; However in this case I'm also getting the "ids" which are used so I don't know how to exclude them from the equation . Any idea would be highly appreciated.

  For posting AJAX forms in a form with many parameters, I am using a solution of creating an iframe, posting the form to it by POST, and then accessing the iframe's content. specifically, I am accessing the content like this: $("some_iframe_id").get(0).contentWindow.document I tested it and it worked. On some of the pages, I started getting an "Access is denied" error. As far as I know, this shouldn't happen if the iframe is served from the same domain. I'm pretty sure it was working before. Anybody have a clue? If I'm not being clear enough: I'm posting to the same domain. So this is not a cross-domain request. I am testing on IE only. P.S. I can't use simple ajax POST queries (don't ask...)

• iframe/lightbox refresh issues

  Hi Please check out: http://gherkin.co.nz/refresh/ and click on the purple box that says 'Membership chest' You should then see some form fields in an iframe in the lightbox. If you click on the "GO" button, the page will change (currently Not found, which is fine for now). If you click the dark area to close the box, then click the purple card again - it will take you back to the not found page. When called, I want the content to always go back to the page specified in the iframe src, not the last page. Can it go back to the first specified page on this second click? Does that make sense? basically I want the iframe/lightbox to refresh its content each time it is called.

  Hi guys, In Safari and other browsers, there is a bar that would indicate the percentage of the loading progress, and I, myself, trying to implement something similiar on iPhone, when loading some content in UIWebView, I would like the app to indicate the percentage of the page being loaded. I tried some google search and realize we could use NSURLConnection to read only the header and get the Content-Length ( but don't know how to, I read the Apple's NSURLConnection docs but probably I missed something ... ). And the size ( kb ) which UIWebView had loaded, seem like UIWebView don't support it for the public API... I hope this would be complete in some other ways than I thought, so if you have any ideas, please throw it out, thanks for your patient reading. P.S : I could just show an Activities Indicator for users with the long loading progress actions of the UIWebView but I just want to go further with the loading percentage bar :). Regards.

  When setting up dojo connections to onmouseover and onmouseout, and then adding content on mouseover, dojo fires the onmouseout event at once, since there is new content. Example: dojo.query(".star").parent().connect("onmouseover", function() { dojo.query("span", this).addContent("<img src='star-hover.jpg'>"); }).connect("onmouseout", function() { dojo.destroy(dojo.query("img", this)[0]); }); The parent() is a <td>, and the .star is a span. I want to add the hover image whenever the user hovers the table cell. It works as long as the cursor doesn't hover the image, because that will result in some serious blinking. Is this deliberate? And is there a way around it?

  I'm trying to create a dummy application that maintains a list of tasks. For now, all I'm trying to do is add to the list. I enter a task name in a text box, click on the add task button, and expect the list to be updated with the new item and the task name input to be cleared. I only want to be able to add tasks if the task name is not empty. The below code is my implementation, but I have a question regarding the binding. I'm binding the textbox's text variable to a string in my view model, and the button's disable variable to a boolean in my view model. I have a trigger to update the disabled state when the task name changes. When the binding of the task name happens the boolean is updated accordingly, but the button still appears disabled. But then when I mouse over the button, it becomes enabled. I believe this is due to JavaFX 1.3's binding being lazy - only updates the bound variable when it is read. • noindex, follow on list views?

  On one of our client's website we have lot's of list views with links to detail views. (Image a blog with the posts overview and the single pages). The detail views don't change, but the list views will change when new items come up. The pages displaying the list view don't contain any other valuable content. So my question is: Does it make sense to define meta "noindex, follow" on the list view pages (and of course "index, follow" on the detail views) to prevent search engines to point to the list views when the keyword is found in the title or teaser of the list view. By the time the visitor clicks on the list view search result it might have changed and the content is not visible anymore, whereas if he goes directly to the single view he will definitly find what he was searching for? Related question: The startpage also contains mainly a list view. Is it a bad idea to have the start page not indexed? Any SEO gurus here? :) Thanks, Fabrizio.

• Panel widget overlapping other contents in android

  I'm trying to utilize the Panel widget introduced in android-misc-widgets. It's been good so far. Now the problem is the sliding panel overlaps my top menu bar. • Using custom scrollbar on jquery lightbox

  Hi, I need to use a custom scrollbar on jquery lightbox. My requirement is that when user clicks on a link then a popup appears and the popup contains 2 or 3 tabs, user can click on any tab to see it's content. In one of those tabs I need scrollbar to show huge content but the scrollbar should not be default it should be custom with any color. Currently I am using "JQuery's JScrollPane" plugin http://jscrollpane.kelvinluck.com to achieve the functionality, but this is not working on IE 6,7 and 8, mean scrollbar does not appear on IE. It works fine on Firefox and Chrome. Note: the same plugin works fine on IE also when I use it on page's element which is available while page load but not while the element is shown dynamically on lightbox. Thanks

• jQuery - iGoogle style interface

  Hi all, I'm currently working on developing a customizable website layout using jQuery, so I can drag, drop, add and remove blocks of content... much like the iGoogle interface. I have my blocks dragging and dropping working with 3 columns of content My question is to do with adding and removing blocks If I use hide(), I can simply hide and show the blocks. If I use remove, I would have to append the list of blocks to load in a new block into a column. I'm not sure which is the best approach to take. I'd be grateful for any advice on best practise, i.e. to hide() or remove() and any other advice on building this kind of interface. Thank, Sam.

• Moving ordered elements and adding arbitrary text in Deliverance

  Using the following XPath derived rule, I am able to select a list of events from a Plone site (similar to Plone Community events) and display them in my Deliverance themed site: <replace content="//*[@id='parent-fieldname-title' or @class='explain' or @id='parent-fieldname-location' or @id='parent-fieldname-text']" theme="#center-content-to-replace-one" /> However, two separate, but related, problems now rear their heads. I can't work out how to: Re-order elements within the replaced theme, such as moving images originally held within #parent-fieldname-text to before #parent-fieldname-title Put arbitrary text before elements. Such as 'Page Title:' before #parent-fieldname-title I could do both if I was just dealing with one record, as place holders(1) or text before place holders(2) could be specified in the template - but I can't see a away for that template behaviour to repeat across multiple items in one page. (if that is indeed the solution) Is this a job for pyQuery?
