• PHP IF statement not taking variable into account!

  I have a tabled view in a while loop, where a user can view information on books. For example, book ISBN, book name, read status... Basically, when the user sets their 'readstatus' to 'complete' I want that specific table row to become grey! The logic is very straight forward, however I can't get my IF statement to recognise this: $readstatus = $_GET['readstatus']; if ($readstatus == 'complete') { echo '<tr class="completed">'; } else if ($readstatus != 'complete') { echo '<tr class="reading">'; } I'm obviously doing something wrong here, but all I need is the CSS class of the table row to change if the value of 'readstatus' = 'complete', if not, then output the default CSS table row color ('reading') Should I be putting $result as the variable or something? I have this coming just before my nested IF statement: $result = mysql_query($sql, $connection) or die ("Couldn't perform query $sql <br />".mysql_error()); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { ?>

  Hi, I have a class which has a private attribute vector rectVec; class A { private: vector<Rect> rectVec; }; My question is how can I return a 'read-only' copy of my Vector? I am thinking of doing this: class A { public: const vect<Rect>& getRectVec() { return rectVect; } } Is that the right way? I am thinking this can guard against the callee modify the vector(add/delete Rect in vector), what about the Rect inside the vector?

• Why does GetExportedValues<T>() no longer work after using the .net 4 final version of MEF?

  I have been developing a managed extensibility framework application for the last several months using the community preview. I have been using the GetExportedValues() method and the PartCreationPolicy(CreationPolicy.NonShared) to fake a class factory (since only the silverlight version supports a factory). This was working great until I upgraded the project to use .net 4.0. There is no error, it just doesn't work. So why did this code stop working? • What is dbReferenceProperty?

  Hi, In the python app engine docs, I see something called dbReferenceProperty. I can't understand what it is, or how it's used. I'm using the java interface to app engine, so I'm not sure if there's an equivalent. I'm interested in it because it sounds like some sort of pseudo-join, where we can point a property of a class to some other object's value - something like if we had: class User { private String mPhotoUrl; private String mPhone; private String mState; private String mCountry; .. etc .. } class UserLite { @ReferenceProperty User.mPhotoUrl; private String mPhotoUrl; } then if we had to update a User object's mPhotoUrl value, the change would somehow propagate out to all UserLite instances referencing it, rather than having to update every UserLite object instance manually, Thanks

• Eclipse - Ouline View - Turn Off Filtering

  Hi. I recently installed Eclipse on my new computer, and this installation somewhat filters the class members. I think it is somehow related to the Outline, but i couldn't find any settings related to it. The thing is that when i, for example, have an error in a method, and click on the little red square on the margin, eclipse shows me only that method, and nothing else. When i then click on the class name in the outline panel, eclipse shows me the class without import declarations. I can, of course, click on the import declarations in the outline panel, but then i get only them. When I want to jump to the declaration of some method by command-clicking that method's name, I again get only that method on the screen. It is really annoying. Can anyone please help me fix it?   I am decorating an existing object using the CreateClassProxyWithTarget method. However, the constructor and therefore, initialization code, is being called twice. I already have a "constructed" instance (the target). I understand why this happens, but is there a way to avoid it, other than using an empty constructor? • Rails: Creating subfolders in model?

  I'm going to have a ton of subclasses, so want to organize them under a subfolder called stream. I added the following line to the environment.rb so that all classes in the subfolder would be loaded: Rails::Initializer.run do |config| ... config.load_paths += Dir["#{RAILS_ROOT}/app/models/*"].find_all { |f| File.stat(f).directory? } ... end I thought this would solve the issue in which by convention the model class is namespaced into an according module. However, when I try to call one of the classes called stream in the stream folder, I get the following error: NoMethodError: undefined method `new' for Stream:Module from (irb):28 from /usr/local/bin/irb:12:in `<main>' Here's the model for the parent and one child: class Stream end class EventStream < Stream end Any idea what the issue is?

• How to load modules in Java

  I'm building a server that loads modules. Each module is a .jar file. Inside the jar there's all the classes that the module needs. The server needs to read the jar, find the main class (it doesnt have the main method on it is just the class that makes the module work but not as a different program), build an object of that class and store it in a vector of modules so that it can acces to a specific module depending on the job to be done. How can I do that? As far as the server, it is listening and receiving request, but there's no modules to delegate the job to, since my vector of modules is empty.

However when i run the above my GUI displays but with the windows hourglass? Could someone show me a quick fix so that i can still crudely show the GUI, let the application code run and then later write to the GUI?

  It's been a few years since I've been heavily into Java. Coming back to it I'm seeing this pattern all over the place: ratingBar.setOnRatingBarChangeListener(new OnRatingBarChangeListener() { public void onRatingChanged(RatingBar ratingBar, float rating, boolean fromUser) { // do work } }); This looks more like Functional programming to me. It's a nice pattern but how is it possible to pass a method like this? In the old days a class was a class, and once compiled there was little you could do to it. My questions are: Can anyone let me know what this pattern is called? How can I write a class that can be instantiated in this way. Are there any other useful examples of functional patterns that have made their way into Java? What do I need to Google to read more about this? Thanks.

• Calling from a parent file in python

  I have a file called main.py and a file called classes.py main.py contains the application and what's happening while class.py contains some classes. main.py has the following code main.py import classes def addItem(text): print text myClass = classes.ExampleClass() And then we have classes.py classes.py class ExampleClass (object): def __init__(self): addItem('bob') Surprisingly enough that's not the actual code I am using because I've stripped out anything that'd get in the way of you seeing what I want to do.   Does the -jar option of the java command also compile the sources before running the main method? I believe so but i would like to have a better understanding of the internal process, from the man page you can clearly see a small workflow sequence: -jar Execute a program encapsulated in a JAR file. The first argument is the name of a JAR file instead of a startup class name. In order for this option to work, the manifest of the JAR file must contain a line of the form Main-Class: classname. Here, classname identifies the class having the public static void main(String[] args) method that serves as your application's starting point. See the Jar tool reference page and the Jar trail of the Java Tutorial @ But it does not mention that it compiles the sources.

• Code generation tool, to create C# adapter classes for unit testing?

  I know I wouldn't need this with Typemock, however, with something like MoQ , I need to use the adapter pattern to enable the creation of mocks via interfaces for code I don't control. For example, TcpClient is a .NET class, so I use adapter pattern to enable mocking of this object, b/c I need an interface of that class. I then produce interface ITcpClient, that can then be implemented via a TcpClientAdapter class, which is just plain vanilla adapter pattern implementation. I am looking for a tool to do this automatically (creation of interface and adapter), I would think there is one out there somewhere? (or is everyone just hand coding these)
