  • Python unicode search not giving correct answer

    - by user1318912
    I am trying to search hindi words contained one line per file in file-1 and find them in lines in file-2. I have to print the line numbers with the number of words found. This is the code: import codecs hypernyms = codecs.open("hindi_hypernym.txt", "r", "utf-8").readlines() words = codecs.open("hypernyms_en2hi.txt", "r", "utf-8").readlines() count_arr = [] for counter, line in enumerate(hypernyms): count_arr.append(0) for word in words: if line.find(word) >=0: count_arr[counter] +=1 for iterator, count in enumerate(count_arr): if count>0: print iterator, ' ', count This is finding some words, but ignoring some others The input files are: File-1: ???? ??????? File-2: ???????, ????-???? ?????-???, ?????-???, ?????_???, ?????_??? ????_????, ????-????, ???????_???? ????-???? This gives output: 0 1 3 1 Clearly, it is ignoring ??????? and searching for ???? only. I have tried with other inputs as well. It only searches for one word. Any idea how to correct this?

  • Is there a better way to write named-pipes in F#?

    - by Niran
    Hi I am new to F#. I am trying to communicate with java from F# using named pipe. The code below works but I am not sure if there is a better way to do this (I know the infinite loop is a bad idea but this is just a proof of concept) if anyone have any idea to improve this code please post your comments. • Why do I get "Bad File Descriptor" when I try to read a file with Perl?

    - by Magicked
    I'm trying to read a binary file 40 bytes at a time, then check to see if all those bytes are 0x00, and if so ignore them. If not, it will write them back out to another file (basically just cutting out large blocks of null bytes). This may not be the most efficient way to do this, but I'm not worried about that. However, right now I'm getting a "Bad File Descriptor" error and I cannot figure out why. my $comp = "\x00" * 40; my $byte_count = 0; my $infile = "/home/magicked/image1"; my $outfile = "/home/magicked/image1_short"; open IN, "<$infile"; open OUT, ">$outfile"; binmode IN; binmode OUT; my ($buf, $data, $n); while (read (IN, $buf, 40)) { ### Problem is here ### $boo = 1; for ($i = 0; $i < 40; $i++) { if ($comp[$i] != $buf[$i]) { $i = 40; print OUT $buf; $byte_count += 40; } } } die "Problems! $!\n" if $!; close OUT; close IN; I marked with a comment where it is breaking. Thanks for any help!

  • Pymedia video encoding failed

    - by user1474837
    I am using Python 2.5 with Windows XP. I am trying to make a list of pygame images into a video file using this function. I found the function on the internet and edited it. It worked at first, than it stopped working. This is what it printed out: Making video... Formating 114 Frames... starting loop making encoder Frame 1 process 1 Frame 1 process 2 Frame 1 process 2.5 This is the error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "ScreenCapture.py", line 202, in <module> makeVideoUpdated(record_files, video_file) File "ScreenCapture.py", line 151, in makeVideoUpdated d = enc.encode(da) pymedia.video.vcodec.VCodecError: Failed to encode frame( error code is 0 ) This is my code: def makeVideoUpdated(files, outFile, outCodec='mpeg1video', info1=0.1): fw = open(outFile, 'wb') if (fw == None) : print "Cannot open file " + outFile return if outCodec == 'mpeg1video' : bitrate= 2700000 else: bitrate= 9800000 start = time.time() enc = None frame = 1 print "Formating "+str(len(files))+" Frames..." print "starting loop" for img in files: if enc == None: print "making encoder" params= {'type': 0, 'gop_size': 12, 'frame_rate_base': 125, 'max_b_frames': 90, 'height': img.get_height(), 'width': img.get_width(), 'frame_rate': 90, 'deinterlace': 0, 'bitrate': bitrate, 'id': vcodec.getCodecID(outCodec) } enc = vcodec.Encoder(params) # Create VFrame print "Frame "+str(frame)+" process 1" bmpFrame= vcodec.VFrame(vcodec.formats.PIX_FMT_RGB24, img.get_size(), # Covert image to 24bit RGB (pygame.image.tostring(img, "RGB"), None, None) ) print "Frame "+str(frame)+" process 2" # Convert to YUV, then codec da = bmpFrame.convert(vcodec.formats.PIX_FMT_YUV420P) print "Frame "+str(frame)+" process 2.5" d = enc.encode(da) #THIS IS WHERE IT STOPS print "Frame "+str(frame)+" process 3" fw.write(d.data) print "Frame "+str(frame)+" process 4" frame += 1 print "savng file" fw.close() Could somebody tell me why I have this error and possibly how to fix it? • jquery show / hide div on click even in a slideshow?

    - by KnockKnockWhosThere
    Is it possible to combine a slideshow and show / hide div functionality? My html structure is below, and basically, I'm trying to get the tabs a links to open up the div with the corresponding class if a user clicks on it. If a user doesn't click on it, it should still just cycle through each image. So, if the images are rotating, and I click on <a class="t2"> then would open. The thing is, it's unknown how many divs / tabs there will be, but they'll always be named t{n}. <div id="tab-content"> <div class="t1">content</div> <div class="t2">lorem ipsum</div> <div class="t3">knock knock</div> </div> <div id="nav"> <div id="tabs"> <ul> <li class="t1"><a class="t1" href="#">tab 1</a></li> <li class="t2"><a class="t2" href="#">tab 2</a></li> <li class="t3"><a class="t3" href="#">tab 3</a></li> </ul> </div> </div>

  • How to make quicksilver remember custom trigger

    - by corroded
    I am trying to make a custom trigger for my shell/apple script file to run so I can just launch my dev environment at the push of a button. So basically: I have a shell script(and some apple script included) in ~ named start_server.sh which does 3 things: start up solr server start up memcached start up script/server I have a saved quicksilver command(.qs) that opens up start_server.sh(so start_server.sh, then the action is "Run in Terminal") I created a custom trigger that calls this saved qs command. I did that then tested it and it works. I then tried to double check it so I quit quicksilver and when I checked the triggers it just said: "Open (null)" as the action. I set the trigger again and when i restarted QS the same thing happened again. I don't know why but my old custom trigger to open terminal has worked since forever so why doesn't this one work? Here's a screenie of the triggers after I restart QS: http://grab.by/4XWW If you have any other suggestion on how to make a "push button" start for my server then please do so :) Thanks! As an added note, I have already tried the steps on this thread but to no avail: http://groups.google.com/group/blacktree-quicksilver/browse_thread/thread/7b65ecf6625f8989

  • How do I produce a screenshot of a flash swf on the server?

    - by indignant
    I'm writing a flash app using the open source tools. I would like to load a data file in to the app and capture a screenshot of the stage on the server. The only part that seems mysterious is running the app on the server. In fact, I don't even care if it's the same app running on the server and in the browser--if I can use the flash stage and drawing routines to produce an image server-side, I'm happy. If I have to delve in to flex, fine. Right now I'm having problems finding any starting point at all. I gather Adobe has some commercial products that may fit the bill, but I'd like to stick with open source, apache, and linux. I know this is probably possible with haxe/neko, but I'd like to use more mainstream tools if possible. Am I asking too much? EDIT/CLARIFICATION: Many thanks for the responses so far, but I think I've been a bit muddy in my description. I've already written the actual stage-grabbing stuff using the same PNGEncoder class as was suggested. The problem is in actually running the swf on the server side. I don't want to let the client take the screen shot itself, because this opens up the possibility of the client maliciously submitting a screenshot which does not correspond to what is on the stage, that is, I don't want users uploading porn. If I could run the the actionscript code on the server, then I could generate the screenshot from my data files and be sure that the screenshot matches the data, but I have no idea how to run the actionscript or swf on the server.

  • How to move point on arc?

    - by bbZ
    I am writing an app that is simulating RobotArm movement. What I want to achieve, and where I have couple of problems is moving a Point on arc (180degree) that is arm range of movement. I am moving an arm by grabbing with mouse end of arm (Elbow, the Point I was talking about), robot can have multiple arms with diffrent arm lenghts. If u can help me with this part, I'd be grateful. This is what I have so far, drawing function: public void draw(Graphics graph) { Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) graph.create(); graph.setColor(color); graph.fillOval(location.x - 4, location.y - 4, point.width, point.height); //Draws elbow if (parentLocation != null) { graph.setColor(Color.black); graph.drawLine(location.x, location.y, parentLocation.x, parentLocation.y); //Connects to parent if (arc == null) { angle = new Double(90 - getAngle(parentInitLocation)); arc = new Arc2D.Double(parentLocation.x - (parentDistance * 2 / 2), parentLocation.y - (parentDistance * 2 / 2), parentDistance * 2, parentDistance * 2, 90 - getAngle(parentInitLocation), 180, Arc2D.OPEN); //Draws an arc if not drawed yet. } else if (angle != null) //if parent is moved, angle is moved also { arc = new Arc2D.Double(parentLocation.x - (parentDistance * 2 / 2), parentLocation.y - (parentDistance * 2 / 2), parentDistance * 2, parentDistance * 2, angle, 180, Arc2D.OPEN); } g2d.draw(arc); } if (spacePanel.getElbows().size() > level + 1) {//updates all childElbows position updateChild(graph); } } I just do not know how to prevent moving Point moving outside of arc line. It can not be inside or outside arc, just on it. Here I wanted to put a screenshot, sadly I don't have enough rep. Am I allowed to put link to this? Maybe you got other ways how to achieve this kind of thing. Here is the image: Red circle is actual state, and green one is what I want to do. EDIT2: As requested, repo link: https://github.com/dspoko/RobotArm

  • Creating Actions from UIActionSheets help

    I am using two UIAction sheets within my current project. I can get one to work perfectly fine but when i insert a second action sheet it runs the same arguements as the first. How do i define the actionsheets seperatly? -(IBAction) phoneButtonClicked:(id)sender { // open a dialog with just an OK button UIActionSheet *actionSheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:nil delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"Cancel" destructiveButtonTitle:nil otherButtonTitles:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"Phone: %@",phone],nil]; actionSheet.actionSheetStyle = UIActionSheetStyleDefault; [actionSheet showInView:self.view]; // show from our table view (pops up in the middle of the table) [actionSheet release]; } -(IBAction) mapButtonClicked:(id)sender { // open a dialog with just an OK button UIActionSheet *mapActionSheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:nil delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"Cancel" destructiveButtonTitle:nil otherButtonTitles:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"Map"],nil]; mapActionSheet.actionSheetStyle = UIActionSheetStyleDefault; [mapActionSheet showInView:self.view]; // show from our table view (pops up in the middle of the table) [mapActionSheet release]; } -(void)actionSheet:(UIActionSheet *)actionSheet clickedButtonAtIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex { if(buttonIndex == 0){ NSString *callPhone = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"tel:%@",phone]; NSLog(@"Calling: %@", callPhone); [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:callPhone]]; } }

  • jsf, richfaces, popup window

    - by Hubidubi
    Hi I would like to make a list-detail view with richfaces. There will be a link for every record in the list that should open a new window containing record details. I tried to implement the link this way: <a4j:commandLink oncomplete="window.open('/pages/serviceDetail.jsf','popupWindow', 'dependent=yes, menubar=no, toolbar=no, height=500, width=400')" actionListener="#{monitoringBean.recordDetail}" value="details" /> I use <a4j:keepAlive beanName="monitoringBean" ajaxOnly="false" /> for both the list and the detail page. recordDetail method fills the data of the selected record to a variable of the bean that I would like to display on the detail page. The problem is that keepalive doesn't work, so I get new bean instance on the detail page every time. So the the previously selected record from the other bean is not accessible here. Is there a way to pass parameter (id) to the detail page to handle record selection. Or is there any way to make keepalive work? (I this this would be the easiest). Thanks

  • XMLHttpRequest() and outputting csv file

    - by sjw
    Initially, I developed a javascript function to use window.open to post contents of a form to a new window which simply opened the new window and initiated a csv file download. Now on reflection, I find the opening of the window superfluous and am trying to just execute a XMLHttpRequest() to download the csv. I am not getting what I want and I'm not 100% sure that I can so I thought I'd ask here for some assistance. When a form is submitted, I want to take all the form values and post them to another page which builds an SQL string and builds a csv based on the contents. (This I can do and works fine with XMLHttpRequest() as seen below) var xhReq = new XMLHttpRequest(); var parameters = ""; for ( i=0; i<formObj.elements.length; i++ ) { parameters += formObj.elements[i].name + "=" + encodeURI( formObj.elements[i].value ) + "&"; } xhReq.open("POST", outputLocation, false); xhReq.setRequestHeader("Content-type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); xhReq.setRequestHeader("Content-length", parameters.length); xhReq.setRequestHeader("Connection", "close"); xhReq.send(parameters); document.write(xhReq.responseText); The code above calls the page ok, builds the csv ok, but it outputs the contents into the current browser window instead of initiating a csv file download. Can I achieve what I need using XMLHttpRequest() or am I going it about it the wrong way? Thanks

    - by Jamde Jam
    I have been trying to replace a word in a text file with a value (say 1), but my outfile is blank.I am new to python (its only been a month since I have been learning it). My file is relatively large, but I just want to replace a word with the value 1 for now. Here is a segment of what the file looks like: NAME SECOND_1 ATOM 1 6 0 0 0 # ORB 1 ATOM 2 2 0 12/24 0 # ORB 2 ATOM 3 2 12/24 0 0 # ORB 2 ATOM 4 2 0 0 4/24 # ORB 3 ATOM 5 2 0 0 20/24 # ORB 3 ATOM 6 2 0 0 8/24 # ORB 3 ATOM 7 2 0 0 16/24 # ORB 3 ATOM 8 6 0 0 12/24 # ORB 1 ATOM 9 2 12/24 0 12/24 # ORB 2 ATOM 10 2 0 12/24 12/24 # ORB 2 #1 #2 #3 I want to first replace the word ATOM with the value 1. Next I want to replace #ORB with a space. Here is what I am trying thus far. input = open('SECOND_orbitsJ22.txt','r') output=open('SECOND_orbitsJ22_out.txt','w') for line in input: word=line.split(',') if(word[0]=='ATOM'): word[0]='1' output.write(','.join(word)) Can anyone offer any suggestions or help?   • Amazon Product API ResponseGroups and Default results

    - by aboxy
    A. In our application, most of the data we work with is stored as free text .i.e. there is no categorization done as of now. We are using openNLP libraries to make sense of the data(extract keywords/classify) and do a query to Amazon web services to pull the results of the query. We use searchindex=All and keywords=. Results are not always returned and we basically get 'AWS.ECommerceService.NoExactMatches' How to avoid that? 1) Is there a way to specify default results if no match found? e.g. Amazon carousel widget does that if the search query did not return results, it basically show some computer items. 2) Should I batch the request always and add another search criteria to every request? If my first criteria does not pull any results, we can be sure that our 2nd query will always pull results(possibly caching?) Here is one search criteria 'Open Circle Hoop Earrings Polished Stainless Steel Open Circle Hoop Earrings Polished Stainless Steel DiamondShark' This return no results via API. On Amazon site,I get alternative suggestions with some results which are pretty relevant. Is there a way to pull those results? B. We just need a thumbnail image and a title and description for our app. Which responseGroup is appropriate? We are using medium rt now but there is awful lot of information even with that responseGroup. Any help is appreciated. thanks

  • mysql: storing arbitrary data

    - by Hailwood
    Background: I was asking a question on stack overflow regarding creating tables on the fly where this conversation ensued: This smells like a terrible idea! In fact, it smells just like this one. What in the world do you want to use this for? – deceze @deceze: very true, However, How else would you store the contents of these CSV files. They must be stored in mysql for indexing. The only solid fact about them is that they all have a mobile column with a standard format. The CSV can have an arbitrary amount of columns with an arbitrary amount of rows. They can (with no exaggeration) range from a single row, 35 column csv to an 80k row single column CSV. I am open to other ideas. – Hailwood There are many solutions for this, from attribute-value schemas to JSON storage and NoSQL storage. Open a new question about it. Whatever you do though, don't dynamically create tables! – deceze Question: So my question is, What would you say is the best way to store this data? Are you in agreement with deceze about not creating dynamic tables?

  • Javascript and jQuery (Fancybox) question

    - by songdogtech
    Javascript and jQuery (Fancybox) question I'm using the Javascript function below for Twitter sharing (as well as other services; the function code is simplified to just Twitter for this question) that grabs the to-be-shared page URL and title and it is invoked in the link with onclick. That results in the Twitter share page loading in a pop up browser window, i.e.<img src="/images/twitter_16.png" onclick="share.tw()" /> In order to be consistent with other design aspects of the site, what I'd like to be able to do is have the Twitter share page open not in a standard browser window but in a Fancybox (jQuery) window. Fancybox can load an external page in an iFrame when the img or href link contains a class (in this case class="iframe" ) in the link and in the document ready function in the header. Right now, of course, when I give the iframe class to the link that also has the onclick share.tw(), I get two popups: one browser window popup with the correct Twitter share page loaded, and a Fancybox jQuery popup that shows a site 404. How can I change the function to use Fancybox to present the Twitter share page? Is that a correct way to approach it? Or is there a better way, such as implementing the share function in jQuery, too? Thanks... Javascript share function: var share = { tw:function(title,url) { this.share('http://twitter.com/home?status=##URL##+##TITLE##',title,url); }, share:function(tpl,title,url) { if(!url) url = encodeURIComponent(window.location); if(!title) title = encodeURIComponent(document.title); tpl = tpl.replace("##URL##",url); tpl = tpl.replace("##TITLE##",title); window.open(tpl,"sharewindow"+tpl.substr(6,15),"width=640,height=480"); } }; It is invoked, i.e.: <img src="/images/twitter_16.png" onclick="share.tw()" /> Fancybox function, invoked by adding class="iframe" in the img or href link $(".iframe").fancybox({ 'width' : '100%', 'height' : '100%', 'autoScale' : false, 'transitionIn' : 'none', 'transitionOut' : 'none', 'type' : 'iframe' });

Here (click here to see that page) I was given this code: import urllib, urllib2, cookielib url = "https://login.yahoo.com/config/login?" form_data = {'login' : 'my-login-here', 'passwd' : 'my-password-here'} jar = cookielib.CookieJar() opener = urllib2.build_opener(urllib2.HTTPCookieProcessor(jar)) form_data = urllib.urlencode(form_data) # data returned from this pages contains redirection resp = opener.open(url, form_data) # yahoo redirects to http://my.yahoo.com, so lets go there instead resp = opener.open('http://mail.yahoo.com') print resp.read() The author of this script looked into HTML script of yahoo log-in form and came up with this script. That log-in form contains two fields, one for users' Yahoo! ID and another one is for users' password. Here is how HTML code of that page for both of those fields looks like: User ID field: <input type="text" maxlength="96" class="yreg_ipt" size="17" value="" id="username" name="login"> Password field: <input type="password" maxlength="64" class="yreg_ipt" size="17" value="" id="passwd" name="passwd"> However, when I uploaded this code to Google App Engine I discovered that this log-in form keeps coming back to me, which, I assume, means that logging-in process didn't succeed. Why is it so?

  • Android XML Preference issue. Can't make it persistent

    - by Budius
    I have a very simple activity just to show the preference fragment: public class PreferencesActivity extends Activity { Fragment frag = null; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); FragmentTransaction ft = getFragmentManager().beginTransaction(); if (frag == null) { // If not, instantiate and add it to the activity frag = new PrefsFragment(); ft.add(android.R.id.content, frag, frag.getClass().getName()); } else { // If it exists, simply attach it in order to show it ft.attach(frag); } ft.commit(); } private static class PrefsFragment extends PreferenceFragment { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.preferences); } } } and preferences.xml with persistent to true: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:enabled="true" android:persistent="true" android:title="@string/settings" > <EditTextPreference android:dialogTitle="@string/dialog_ip" android:negativeButtonText="@android:string/cancel" android:persistent="true" android:positiveButtonText="@android:string/ok" android:title="@string/ip" /> </PreferenceScreen> if I open the EditTextPreference, write something, close the dialog and open it again. The value is still there. But that's it... if I click the Back button, and enter the again on the preferences screen, I already lost what was written. If you exit the application also doesn't save. Am I missing something here? Running on: Android 4.0.3 Asus TF300

  • Can't get gravity to work with RMagick and 'caption'

    - by mph
    I'm using RMagick 2.12.2 with ImageMagick 6.5.6-10 on Snow Leopard. I'm trying to put captions on a collection of photos, and I'm getting the caption to work (i.e. it appears on the image), but I can't get the gravity parameter to work correctly. No matter what I set it to, I end up with some variation on NorthGravity. For instance: Setting it to SouthWestGravity gives me NorthWestGravity. Setting it to SouthEastGravity gives me NorthEastGravity. Setting it to CenterGravity gives me NorthGravity. In other words, I can't get the caption to come down off the top of the image. I'd consider using "annotate," but I need "caption" so the lengthy caption text for each image will wrap. What am I doing wrong? Here's the code: #!/usr/bin/env ruby require "rubygems" require "yaml" require "RMagick" include Magick base_dir = "/Users/mike/Desktop/caption_test" photo_log = File.open("#{base_dir}/photo_log.yaml" ) YAML::load_documents(photo_log) do |doc| caption = doc["photo-caption"] filename = doc["file"] canvas = ImageList.new.from_blob(open("#{base_dir}/#{filename}") { |f| f.read } ) canvas << Magick::Image.read("caption:#{caption}") { self.gravity = SouthWestGravity self.size = "#{canvas.first.columns}" self.font = "Helvetica Neue" self.pointsize = 12 self.background_color = "#fff" }.first canvas.flatten_images.write("#{base_dir}/images/#{filename}") end

  • x86 Assembly: Before Making a System Call on Linux Should You Save All Registers?

    - by mudge
    I have the below code that opens up a file, reads it into a buffer and then closes the file. The close file system call requires that the file descriptor number be in the ebx register. The ebx register gets the file descriptor number before the read system call is made. My question is should I save the ebx register on the stack or somewhere before I make the read system call, (could int 80h trash the ebx register?). And then restore the ebx register for the close system call? Or is the code I have below fine and safe? I have run the below code and it works, I'm just not sure if it is generally considered good assembly practice or not because I don't save the ebx register before the int 80h read call. ;; open up the input file mov eax,5 ; open file system call number mov ebx,[esp+8] ; null terminated string file name, first command line parameter mov ecx,0o ; access type: O_RDONLY int 80h ; file handle or negative error number put in eax test eax,eax js Error ; test sign flag (SF) for negative number which signals error ;; read in the full input file mov ebx,eax ; assign input file descripter mov eax,3 ; read system call number mov ecx,InputBuff ; buffer to read into mov edx,INPUT_BUFF_LEN ; total bytes to read int 80h test eax,eax js Error ; if eax is negative then error jz Error ; if no bytes were read then error add eax,InputBuff ; add size of input to the begining of InputBuff location mov [InputEnd],eax ; assign address of end of input ;; close the input file ;; file descripter is already in ebx mov eax,6 ; close file system call number int 80h
