• Refresh a control on the master page after postback

  Hi all! What i am trying to do here is to show a couple of validation messages in form of a bulletlist, so i have a Div on my master page containing a asp:bulletlist. Like this: <div> <asp:BulletedList ID="blstValidationErrorMessage" runat="server" BulletStyle="Disc"> </asp:BulletedList> </div> When i then click the Save button from any of my pages (inside the main contentPlaceHolder) i create a list of messages and give this list as datasouce like this: blstValidationErrorMessage.DataSource = validationMessageCollection; blstValidationErrorMessage.DataBind(); The save button is located inside an updatepanel: asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="UpdatePanel" ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Conditional" Nothing happens, i can see that the datasource of the bulletlist contains X items, the problems must arise because the Save button is inside an update panel and the elements outside this updatepanel (master page controls for example) is not refreshed. So my question is, how do i make the bulletlist refresh after the postback? Thanks in advance.

Is there any way to enable a "two-finger drag" on the Mac as you can enable mouse wheel scrolling?

  Hi all, I try to explain my problem. I have a <div contenteditable="true" id="my_editeur>, where I have defined a keypress “event” which allow me to add a ‘p’ when the user clicks on “enter”. It functions well, but I would like define the cursor on this new ‘p’ element, because currently my cursor stays on the first 'p' element. I have tried to use jquery focus function but it seems that we can’t use this function for ‘p’ elements. Do you know how I can do to solve my problem? Thanks very much for your help. • View bound to paged collection view not updating all of the time.

  I new to silverlight and trying to make a business application using the mvvm pattern and ria services. I have a view model class that contains a PagedCollectoinView and it is set to the item source of a datagrid. When I update the PagedCollectionView the datagrid is only updated the first time then after that subsequent changes to the data to not reflect in the view until after another edit. Things seem to be delayed one edit. Below is a summarized example of my xaml and code behind. • Programming languages & proof of concepts

  There are plenty of programming languages out there, as you all may know. I am primarily looking for a list of programming languages WITH some very neat proof of concepts. I would really like to learn a new language, but whenever I dive into something new and popular, it isn't what I expected. Any tutorial out there will give you code, small examples, but won't show you the true power of the language. I am looking for examples that run entirely on the language that it is exemplifying. For example, If I said C#, I could possibly show you a complete C# app with backend queries, reports, tables, all with a nice interface. It would be completely reliant on the language that is provided, so no supporting languages. I understand that most languages are integrated with other languages in order to provide a richer application. Any links, charts, websites that may reflect this request is appreciated.

• Chrome Extension contenteditable get and set caret position

  I am creating an extension where I need to insert a link into the gmail window. I am able to create a simple extension button in the top of the window and execute code that does replaces all the links. Now, I want to do add links in the contenteditable section as I type. It seems like there should be a simple way to replace text with a link in the document object model. If this is not true I need to do three things. Insert text from the current caret position Capture the caret position. Set the caret position by its offset. I have tried using window.getSelection within the gmail context(that is a body element that is set to contenteditable and embedded inside an iframe in the gmail tab) to get the current range and position. The selection is always empty and contains no ranges regardless of whether text is selected or not.

• Auto update CSS from SASS/SCSS in Rails?

  Maybe I'm confused on how SASS/SCSS works within Rails (2.3.8.) but I was under the impression that if I included the option Sass::Plugin.options[:always_update] = true that whenever I changed my SCSS file and then hit the page (controller) again, the SCSS would recompile. I can't seem to get this to work, and can't seem to find a good tutorial / example for it. I've tried setting the above property in the Environment.rb file, but it didn't seem to do anything. I tried putting it in its own initializer with require 'sass' but that doesn't seem to work either. What am I missing? Or am i just forced to keep a terminal open with a sass --watch command running to be able to rapidly debug / change my styles? thx

Or, if that is not possible, how can the style attribute be changed during runtime (there is no such thing as button.setStyle(R.style.button)).

  Hi, I am trying to include jpeg files in latex \includegraphics[width=57.6mm, height=43.2mm]{../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg} With specified the width and height and compiled with pdflatex, however, it produces the error: ! LaTeX Error: Cannot determine size of graphic in ../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg (no BoundingBox). The true size of the image is 576x432 in pixels. Have I specified the size correctly in the latex file? Anyway to use the default setting without need to specify the width and height? If I don't specify the them in the latex file, \includegraphics[]{../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg} I still get the same no BoundingBox error. Thanks and regards!

• Django filter with two constraints on related model

  I have a django app with models as follows: A Question model An Answer model, with a ForeignKey back to the Question. (A question can have multiple answers.) A Flag model, with a ForeignKey to the Answer. (An answer can be flagged as inappropriate.) All of the above also have a user field, defining the user that created that object. I'm trying to get a list of all Questions with answers from the current user which have been flagged. I tried this: Question.objects.filter(answer__user=user).\ filter(answer__flag__isnull=True).distinct() … but I believe that will return a list of Questions with answers from the current user and with answers which have been flagged, but will not necessarily guarantee that it is the user's answer that has been flagged. Is there an easy way to do this? Basically, I want to make the answer part of the filter refer to the same answer on both of them. Please let me know if something is unclear.

Here's my problem: how do I access the ArrayBuffer with PHP at the server? I'm used to the $_POST superglobal wanting parameters passing from a HTML form so it can be accessed as an array but I can't find any reference for how to access this binary array and stick it in my MySQL database.

• Asp.Net : IHttpModule + m_context.Server.Transfer = session state error

  I have an IHttpModule that implements IRequiresSessionState. The session state is at "on" on the page directive and I also added it to the web.config. In the method "OnBeginRequest" in the IHttpModule, I make a Server.Transfer but I get the error : Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. When I access the page directly or with a Response.Redirect, there is no error. Any idea? Update : The error occur in a page extending System.Web.UI.Page in the method InitializeCulture() which is an override.

Consider that each table has IsDeleted column which has to be marked true if request was made to delete data. But that data shoud remain their physically. Tables which will have IsDeleted Column are tblDomain tblSubject tblTopic tblSubTopic Now I want, if a user marks one domain as deleted then all the refrence field should also get marked as deleted. i.e. 1 domain is related to 5 subjects, those 5 subjects are related to 25 topics, those 25 topics are related to 500 subtopics and so on. Then how should i mark all these fileds as Deleted. ?

• New to C# and trying to use a global variable

  Is it possible to use global variables in C#? I'm coming from mainly a PHP background so variables are either accessible everywhere or just a global definition away. My main issue is I have a User class that I built myself to wrap around the current users table on my company's database. I am defining it in the MasterPage but can't seem to access it from the actual pages (I don't know if there's a better word to describe them but they are the pages that inherit the styles and format from the MasterPage) Any general tips or implementation practices for me?   I have an application generating a really heavy big log file every days (~800MB a day), thus I need to compress them but since the compression takes time, I want that logrotate compress the file after reloading/sending HUP signal to the application. /var/log/myapp.log { rotate 7 size 500M compress weekly postrotate /bin/kill -HUP `cat /var/run/myapp.pid 2>/dev/null` 2>/dev/null || true endscript } Is it already the case that the compression takes place after the postrotate (which would be counter-intuitive)? I am just looking for some thing generic. public void AddRectodatabase(object record) { Debug.WriteLine(record.ToString()); Trace.WriteLine(record.ToString()); // Add it to databse Debug.Assert(true, "Use this on case by case basis"); } Is this good enough for general purpose, am i doing anything wrong in there? We want to stick with .net System.Diagnostics over other alternatives like log4net. Is there any thing else useful in System.Diagnostics?

  I am trying to copy all data from worksheet1 and paste the values into worksheet2 at the same position I am using office 2003 and the Interlop library.
