• hello-1.mod.c:14: warning: missing initializer (near initialization for '__this_module.arch.unw_sec_init')

  I am trying to write a module for an sbc1651. Since the device is ARM, this requires a cross-compile. As a start, I am trying to compile the "Hello Kernel" module found here. This compiles fine on my x86 development system, but when I try to cross-compile I get the below error. /home/developer/HelloKernel/hello-1.mod.c:14: warning: missing initializer /home/developer/HelloKernel/hello-1.mod.c:14: warning: (near initialization for '__this_module.arch.unw_sec_init') Since this is in the .mod.c file, which is autogenerated I have no idea what's going on. The mod.c file seems to be generated by the module.h file. As far as I can tell, the relevant parts are the same between my x86 system's module.h and the arm kernel header's module.h. Adding to my confusion, this problem is either not googleable (by me...) or hasn't happened to anyone before. Or I'm just doing something clueless that anyone with any sense wouldn't do. The cross-compiler I'm using was supplied by Freescale (I think). I suppose it could be a problem with the compiler. Would it be worth trying to build the toolchain myself? Obviously, since this is a warning, I could ignore it, but since it's so strange, I am worried about it, and would like to at least know the cause... • Edit Contact code worked in 1.6 but doesn't work on Droid 2.1?

  Hi All, I had some fairly simple code in my app to invoke Edit Contact activity on a known good contact index that worked in Android 1.6 but is broken for me now in Android 2.1 on the Droid.   Here's what i have so far... I have yet to figure out how i'm going to handle the 11 / 1 situation with an ace, and when the player chooses an option for hit/stand, i get segfault.   Obviously I'd like to not have to install a Oracle client (other than simply a DLL), because that would prohibit my ClickOnce goal. I tried System.Data.OracleClient, but it threw an exception, "System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater." Thanks in advance.

  Is there a way to make a simple installer that includes the necessary runtimes and dependency packages, and creates an icon in the OpenSuse menu, so the application will "just work?" The actual application is just an executable (.EXE) and a handful of support files (mostly XML and CSV). I already have the application successfully building and executing in MonoDevelop 2.0.

• Calling linux utilities with options from within a Bash script.

  This is my first Bash script so forgive me if this question is trivial. I need to count the number of files within a specified directory $HOME/.junk. I thought this would be simple and assumed the following would work: numfiles= find $HOME/.junk -type f | wc -l echo "There are $numfiles files in the .junk directory." Typing find $HOME/.junk -type f | wc -l at the command line works exactly how I expected it to, simply returning the number of files. Why is this not working when it is entered within my script? Am I missing some special notation when it comes to passing options to the utilities? Thank you very much for your time and help.

  Hi All, I need output different information to different terminal instances instead of print them in same output stream, say std.err or std.out. for example: I have 5 kinds of information say A-E need to be displayed on different terminal windows on same desktop, looks like [terminal 1] <- for displaying information A [terminal 2] <- for displaying information B [terminal 3] <- for displaying information C [terminal 4] <- for displaying information D [terminal 5] <- for displaying information E I know I can output them into different files, then open terminals read the file in loop, but what I want is python program can open terminal by program itself and print to them directly when it is needed. • How can I use cp to copy a directory but ignore a certain sub directory in Linux

  Due to a Hard disk problem I am trying to shift a partition from one hard disk to another. I am following http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-partplan.html article to do that. In the copying part I would like to ignore one particular sub directory. How can I accomplish that keeping in mind when copying I have to preserve my owner group and time stamp. There is around 700 GB of data that needs to be copied if I do not ignore a particular subdirectory.

• C, Linux: Receiving data from multiple multicast address on same port - how to distinguish them?

  2 vote down star I have an application that is receiving data from multiple multicast sources on the same port. I am able to receive the data. However, I am trying to account for statistics of each group (i.e. msgs received, bytes received) and all the data is getting mixed up. Does anyone know how to solved this problem? If I try to look at the sender's address, it is not the multicast address, but rather the IP of the sending machine. I am using the following socket options: struct ip_mreq mreq; mreq.imr_multiaddr.s_addr = inet_addr("224.1.2.3"); mreq.imr_interface.s_addr = INADDR_ANY; setsockopt(s, IPPROTO_IP, IP_ADD_MEMBERSHIP, &mreq, sizeof(mreq)); and also: setsockopt(s, SOL_SOCKET, SO_REUSEPORT, &reuse, sizeof(reuse)); I appreciate any help!!!
