    Anybody know how to determine what DLL's a binary depends on using programmatic methods? To be clear, I am not trying to determine the DLL dependencies of the running exec, but of any arbitrary exec (that may be missing a required DLL). I'm looking for a solution to implement in a C/C++ application. This is something that needs to be done by my application at runtime and can't be done by a third party app (like depends). The MFC app has many CDialog-based windows, and we are thinking of leaving some of these windows in MFC, and show them inside a WPF window, so we can control their modality from WPF.   • Java web-app debugging not possible due to direct undeploy on debug

    When i try to debug my webapp it starts up the tomcat server and the application, but shuts down the debugger shortly before the app gets usable.   • DateTimePicker replacement that "respects" e.g. the CurrentUICulture

    Apparently the DateTimePicker does not "respect" or adhere to the CurrentUICulture of a .NET application, because DateTimePicker is a "Native" Common-control with a .NET wrapper (I think). I have a requirement to display "AM/PM" regardless of the regional settings of the PC running my .NET Winforms application. I would rather not re-implement my own DateTimePicker control, which adheres to the CurrentIUCulture. So does anybody know of a work-around or have a link to DateTimePicker control re-implementation?

  • log4net not logging with a mixture of .net 1.1 and .net 3.5

    Hi All, I have an iis server on a windows 2003 production machine that will not log using log4net in the .net3.5 web application. Log4net works fine in the 1.1 apps using log4net version 1.2.9.0 and but not the 3.5 web app. The logging works fine in a development and staging environment but not in production. It does not error and I receive no events logged in the event viewer and don't know where to look next. I have tried both versions of log4net (1.2.9.0 and 1.2.10.0) and both work in development and staging but not in production. For testing purposes I have created just a single page application that just echos back the time when the page is hit and also is supposed to log to my logfile using log4net.     I'm having an issue getting Appstats to work correctly. Using /appstats or /appstats/stats ends up in an infinite loop that keeps redirecting back to /appstats/stats. This results in a 404 error saying the page isn't redirecting properly. Any idea what the issue is? Here are the relevant lines in my appengine-web.xml.     I have a large PHP application. After I changed some settings I get a redirection loop (i.e. the browser is redirected to the same page over and over again). The problem is that I don't know which command (which line in which PHP file) in this application causes the redirect. Is there a way to trace calls to the header() function?   • Arranging models, views, controllers in a Kohana 3 project

    I'm looking at how to set up a mid-sized web application with Kohana 3. I have implemented MVC patterns in the past but never worked against a "formalized" MVC framework so I'm still getting my head around the terminology - toying around with basic examples, building views and templates, and so on. I'm progressing fairly well but I want to set up a real-world web project (one of my own that I've been planning for quite some time now) as a learning object. I learn best by example, but example-based documentation is a bit sparse for Kohana 3 right now - they say so themselves on the site. While I'm not worried about getting into the framework soon enough, I'm a bit concerned about arranging a healthily structured code base from the start - i.e. how to split up controllers, how to name them, and how to separate the functionality into the appropriate models. My application could, in its core, be described as a business directory with a main businesses table. Businesses can be listed by category and by street name. Each business has a detail page. Business owners can log in and edit their business's entry. Businesses can post offers into an offers table. I know this is pretty vague, but I don't want to cram too much information into this question. I'll be more than happy to go into more detail if needed. Supposing I have all the basic functionality worked out and in place already - list all businesses, edit business, list businesses by street name, create offer, and so on, and I'm just looking for how to fit the functionality into a MVC pattern and into a Kohana application structure that can be easily extended: Do you know real-life, publicly accessible examples of "database-heavy" applications like directories, online communities... with a log-in area built on Kohana 3 where I could take a peek how they do it? Are there conventions or best practices on how to structure an extendable login area for end users in a Kohana project that is not only able to handle a business directory page, but further products on separate pages as well? Do you know application structuring HOWTOs or best practices for Kohana 3 not mentioned in the user guide and the inofficial Wiki? Have you built something similar and could give me some recommendations?
