• FindBugs not accepting bcel.jar in ANT script

• Sharepoint.OpenDocuments Control Compatible with Forms Authentication?

  We are using the Sharepoint.OpenDocuments.EditDocument2 ActiveX control and method. The method is being called from JavaScript in an IE6 client on a Windows XP SP3 client (fully patched). The server is running IIS6 on Windows Server 2003 SP1 Fronting the IIS server is Tivoli Access Manager (TAM) which proxies access to the web applications sitting behind it. Similar to forms authentication, it creates a session cookie for authentication purposes, that must be present for the HTTP request to reach the IIS server. In front of TAM is an F5/BigIP load balancer and SSL encryption offloader, which enforces that incoming requests use the HTTPS protocol. What is happening is that HTTP requests issued by this control do not contain any session cookies that were present in the browser. It drops the ASP.NET session cookie, the ASP.NET forms authentication cookie and the TAM cookie Because the TAM cookie is missing the request is redirected to the TAM login page, which then shows up via HTML conversion in Word or Excel. The API documentation at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms440037.aspx mentions nothing about security or appropriate usage scenarios for this control. Should these controls work in an ASP.Net Forms Authentication scenario or are they only supported with Windows Authentication. If Forms Authentication is supposed to function, how do we get the control to include the necessary session cookies in its requests?

• Is it possible to use Indy 10.5.8.0 with Delphi XE?

  The case I'm trying to update the INDY to the latest version for my Delphi XE (Update 1), so I downloaded the latest INDY10 file (Indy_4545.zip) from indy.fulgan.com/ZIP. The packages compiles successfully and I can now even see the new version 10.5.8.0 on the about box dialog, but after a IDE restart I got a message saying: No se encuentra el punto de entrada del procedimiento @Idhttp@TIdCustomHTTP@GetRequestHeaders$qqrv en la biblioteca de vínculos dinámicos IndyProtocols150.bpl. My free translation to English: Entry point not found for procedure @Idhttp@TIdCustomHTTP@GetRequestHeaders$qqrv not found on the dynamic link library IndyProtocols150.bpl. After a quick comparision of old and new IdHTTP.pas I found a lot of changes on the TIdCustomHttp class, including the rename of some methods GetResponseHeaders to GetResponse GetRequestHeaders to GetRequest SetRequestHeaders to SetRequest Along with changed public/published method firms in this and other and classes interfaces. After the update, I got a lot of packages failing to load, including dclcxPivotGridOLAPD15.bpl, which in turns depends on dclDataSnapServer150.bpl which encounters the missing method on the bpl. AFAIK I can't recompile the dclDataSnapServer150.bpl (and maybe other failing packages, I just stopped here). DataSnap and DevExpress support on the IDE is a must for my day to day so The questions Is there a safe pre-established path to update to the newest INDY for Delphi XE? If not, am I on the safe side by just parching the source code by creating the old public methods and call the new ones on the implementation part? am I missing something else or am I really stuck with INDY 10.5.7 until the next Delphi minor/major release?

• How does one use OpenFileDialog in C# in visual Studio 2010

  I have written a custom dialog (form) that I can use in a C# program that behaves much like a "File - Open" menu command and brings up a window where a user can select a file or directory. The question I have is this. It has "My Computer" as its root. How can I have it so that it searches on a Network? If the file or directory is located on a network. Or better yet, in Visual Studio 2010, is there some sort of canned FileOpenDialog that I can use right away? I tried calling the OpenFileDialog as described in the example code at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.openfiledialog.aspx but the compiler does not seem to like DialogResult.OK as used in this line of code: if(openFileDialog1.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK) The compiler says: Error 1 'System.Nullable' does not contain a definition for 'OK' and no extension method 'OK' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Nullable' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) I tried using the namespace Microsoft.Win32 instead of System.Windows.Forms and neither worked. They both produced this error.

• Is an LSA MSV1_0 subauthentication package needed for some impersonation use cases?

  Greetings, I'm working with a vendor who has implemented some code that uses a Windows LSA MSV1_0 subauthentication package (MSDN info if you're interested: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa374786(VS.85).aspx ) and I'm trying to figure out if it's necessary. As far as I can tell, the subauthentication routine and filter allow for hooking or customizing the standard LSA MSV1_0 logon event processing. The issue is that I don't understand why the vendor's product would need these capabilities. I've asked them and they said they use it to perform impersonation. The product definitely does need to do impersonation, but based on my limited win32 knowledge, they could get the functionality they need using the normal auth APIs (LsaLogonUser, ImpersonateLoggedOnUser, etc) without the subauthentication package. Furthermore, I've worked with a number of similar products that all do impersonation, and this is the only one that's used a subauthentication package. If you're wondering why I would care, a previous version of the product had a bug in the subauthentication package dll that would cause lockups or bluescreens. That makes me rather nervous and has me questioning the use of such a low-level, kernel sensitive interface. I'd like to go back to the vendor and say "There's no way you could need an LSA subauth package for impersonation - take it out", but I'm not sure I understand the use cases and possible limitations of the standard win32 authentication/impersonation APIs well enough to make that claim definitively. So, to the win32 security gurus out there, is there any reason you would need an LSA MSV1_0 subauthentication package if all you were doing is impersonation? Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

  i am new to webservices, I have created a basic stockmarket webservice, I have successfully created the server script for it and placed it in my server, Now I also creted a clent script and accessed it hruogh the same server.. Is it valid ? can boh files be accesed from the same server? or do I have to place them in different servers? If yes Then Y? If No then why do i get the blank page? I am using nusoap library for webservice. • Should UTF-16 be considered harmful?

  I'm going to ask what is probably quite a controversial question: "Should one of the most popular encodings, UTF-16, be considered harmful?" Why do I ask this question? How many programmers are aware of the fact that UTF-16 is actually a variable length encoding? By this I mean that there are code points that, represented as surrogate pairs, take more then one element. I know; lots of applications, frameworks and APIs use UTF-16, such as Java's String, C#'s String, Win32 APIs, Qt GUI libraries, the ICU Unicode library, etc. However, with all of that, there are lots of basic bugs in the processing of characters out of BMP (characters that should be encoded using two UTF-16 elements). For example, try to edit one of these characters: 𝄞 𝕥 𝟶 𠂊 You may miss some, depending on what fonts you have installed. These characters are all outside of the BMP (Basic Multilingual Plane). If you cannot see these characters, you can also try looking at them in the Unicode Character reference. For example, try to create file names in Windows that include these characters; try to delete these characters with a "backspace" to see how they behave in different applications that use UTF-16. I did some tests and the results are quite bad: Opera has problem with editing them Notepad can't deal with them correctly (delete for example) File names editing in Window dialogs in broken All QT3 applications can't deal with them. StackOverflow seems to remove these characters if edited directly in as Unicode characters, and only seems to allow them as HTML Unicode escapes. So... This was very simple test. Do you think that UTF-16 should be considered harmful?

• Using SDL2_gfx issues using C++

  When I use the it with the common.c /common.h files that come with it, if I use the cpp instead of c extension using VS201X I get the LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _SDL_main What that means is if I change the file containing main to test.c it compiles. When I change it back to text.cpp it fails to compile. I think that means it only works as a C compile. Here is the code I copied from SDL2_gfxPrimitives.c. (Spaces added so they would show up.) #include < stdio.h> #include < stdlib.h> #include < string.h> #include < math.h> #include < time.h> #include "common.h" #include "SDL2_gfxPrimitives.h" static CommonState *state; int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { /* Initialize test framework */ state = CommonCreateState(argv, SDL_INIT_VIDEO); return 1; } I need to use the library in C++ but it seems I don't know enough to figure out how. • Executing MSYS from cmd.exe with arguments

  Hi, I am trying to learn wxWidgets library, using mingw and msys to compile the code. So far so good, but I can not find a way to send a command to MSYS through CMD.exe. I use SublimeText to edit files, and it has an option to run makefiles. I want my makefiles to be able to open an instance of MSYS and send the g++ command and arguments to it. Example: Right now my makefile is: test.exe : main.cpp g++ -s main.cpp -o test.exe `wx-config --cxxflags` `wx-config --libs` When mingw32-make goes to run the g++ command, it sends it to cmd.exe, which doesn't handle the back-ticks and wx-config jazz. (But the command does work when run from inside MSYS and the directory holding main.cpp) I want to be able to use something like... msys --command g++ -s main.cpp*...etc..* so it will load the msys enviroment, and run the command. Is this possible? I am a huge makefile newbie, so if there is an easier way, please show me! TIA!

• Spring-json problem in Liferay with Spring 2.5

  Hi all, I am trying to use the library spring-json.1.3.1 in a project that has been done with Liferay 5.1.2 which includes Spring 2.5. Following the project website instructions, I managed to make the request hit in my controller, but at the moment of returning the json object back through the modelAndView object it fails with the following error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at com.liferay.portlet.MimeResponseImpl.setContentType(MimeResponseImpl.java:162) I have checked Liferays source code, and it checks that contentType that its being set is in a harcoded list,if it not it will throw a IllegalArgumentException that it is exactly what os happening.   I AM GETTING THE FOLLOWING ERROR IN A VERY SIMPLE CLASS LIBRARY: Error 1 Unable to copy file "obj\Debug\SMIT.SysAdmin.BusinessLayer.Resources.resources" to "obj\Debug\SMIT.SysAdmin.BusinessLayer.SMIT.SysAdmin.BusinessLayer.Resources.resources". Could not find file 'obj\Debug\SMIT.SysAdmin.BusinessLayer.Resources.resources'. SMIT.SysAdmin.BusinessLayer Going to the Project Properties-Resource tab, I see that I defined do resources. Still, I tried to delete the resource file and recreate by going to the resource tab. When I recompile, I still get the same error. Why is it even looking for a resource file? I define no resources on teh project properties tab and added no new resource file items. Any suggestions of things to try? Update: I found the missing file in an old backup. I copied it to the location where the compiler expected it, and then successfully recompiled the project that previously had compile time errors. However, when I rebuild the entire solution, it deletes the file that I previously restored and I'm back to where I started. My solution contains several projects (maybe 10 or so). Could VS 2005 be having a problem determining dependencies and the proper order to compile these projects?

• Using MSADO15.DLL and C++ with MinGW/GCC on Windows Vista

  INTRODUCTION Hi, I am very new to C++, is my 1st statement. I have started initially with VC++ 2008 Express, I've notice that GCC becomes kind of standard so I am trying to make the right steps event from the beginning. I have written a piece of code that connects to MSSQL Server via ADO, on VC++ it's working like a charm by importing MSADO15.dll: #import "msado15.dll" no_namespace rename("EOF", "EndOfFile") Because I am going to move from VC++ I was looking for an alternative (eventually multi-platform) IDE, so I stick (for this time) with Code::Block (I'm using last nightly buil, SVN 6181). As compiler I choose to use GCC 3.4.5 (ported via MinGW 5.1.6), under Vista. I was trying to compile a simple "hello world" application with GCC that use/import the same msado15.dll (#import "c:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ADO\msado15.dll" no_namespace rename("EOF", "EndOfFile")) and I was surprised to see a lot of compile-time errors. I was expected that the #import compiler's directive will generate a library from "msado15.dll" so it can link to it later (link-edit time or whatever).   I want to access private methods and variables from outside the classes in very rare specific cases. I've seen that this is not be possible although introspection is used. • Mathematica regular expressions on unicode strings.

  This was a fascinating debugging experience. Can you spot the difference between the following two lines? StringReplace["–", RegularExpression@"[\\s\\S]" -> "abc"] StringReplace["-", RegularExpression@"[\\s\\S]" -> "abc"] They do very different things when you evaluate them. It turns out it's because the string being replaced in the first line consists of a unicode en dash, as opposed to a plain old ascii dash in the second line. In the case of the unicode string, the regular expression doesn't match. I meant the regex "[\s\S]" to mean "match any character (including newline)" but Mathematica apparently treats it as "match any ascii character". How can I fix the regular expression so the first line above evaluates the same as the second? Alternatively, is there an asciify filter I can apply to the strings first? PS: The Mathematica documentation says that its string pattern matching is built on top of the Perl-Compatible Regular Expressions library (http://pcre.org) so the problem I'm having may not be specific to Mathematica.

  My application at mysubdomain.mydomain.com needs to set a cookie that contains some user session information. They log in at a https page. We authenticate them and set some session info in a cookie. We do this in a helper library that takes in the controller context contextBase.Response.Cookies[CookiePayload.CookieName].Value = encryptedTicket; contextBase.Response.Cookies[CookiePayload.CookieName].Expires = cookieExpires; contextBase.Response.Cookies[CookiePayload.CookieName].Domain= ConfigHelper.CookieDomain; contextBase.Response.Cookies[CookiePayload.CookieName].HttpOnly=true; We do a quick redirect in the controller (to a non https page): this.ControllerContext.HttpContext.Response.Redirect(redirectTo, false); return null; The cookie appears in the response (according to firebug's net tab). But neither fireforx nor ie send the cookie on subsequent gets. We are setting the cookie domain to mydomain.com even though the site is mysubdomain.mydomain.com. Skipping the redirect command has no effect, nor does changing the cookie value. I'm baffled. Thanks for any suggestions.

  Everybody hi. There is a problem with my own AJAX library, that I can't solve. I have some block (#ajax-loading), that has events: $('#ajax-loading') .bind('ajaxStart', function() { $('#ajax-loading').show(); }) .bind('ajaxStop', function() { $('#ajax-loading').fadeOut(150); }); For running AJAX I have special method: run: function(data, callback) { if(this.request) { this.request.abort(); } this.request = $.getJSON(window.location.pathname, data , callback); }, So .request holds current AJAX request. What do I want? My #ajax-loading block contains the button, than should Cancel current AJAX request. As I supposed, the function, making Cancel shoud contain: abort: function() { if(ajax.request) { this.request.abort(); $('#ajax-loading').fadeOut(150); } } But, as I said, there is a problem: my AJAX request cancels, loading-block hides, but when another request starts, this block doesn't shows again. It seems that when I abort AJAX request, the ajaxStop event doesn't happen. And when I run new request ajaxStart doesn't happen. I think it can be connected with readyState or status field of XMLHttpRequest, or smth similar. Could anyone help me with this or explain what's wrong. PS: excuse my english, it's not my native language...

• Easiest way to use speex preprocessor in C#?

  I need to use the speex preprocessor, and only the preprocessor in my VOIP app (don't need to use the codec). My app is written in C#. I think I know the easiest steps, but not sure where to find these items. Easiest in my opinion, if I can find these: Windows DLL that contains only the preprocessor functions, or if small enough in size I guess the entire speex library would be OK. So far I've only found binarys in EXE format, so if I can't find the binaries I'd have to install the compiler they use to build their source and probably several other libraries (as is my experience with most open source builds). C# versions of the header files, for pinvoking the DLL functions. So my question is, does anyone know where I can find these? I'm sure people have created these before, based on the huge number of speex users, just not able to find any on-line. Hope people don't think I'm lazy, I just hate doing this kind of "busy work" if I know many others have probably already done the exact same thing :) Update: I did find http://www.rarewares.org/files/others/libspeex-dll-1.2rc1.zip which includes libspeex.dll, but the DLL has no exports so not sure how they expect that to work. The other binaries they have are also just EXEs.

• Cocoa NSStream TCP connection to FTP

  Hi, I'm new to Cocoa, but not to programming. Recently I decided I wanted to write a FTP client for Mac, and so I first made it in the language I'm most comfortable in (on Windows), and then moved on to Cocoa when I had the workings of FTP communications down. My question is (apparently) a bit controversial: How do I establish a read/writeable connection to (a ftp server)? Because while this question is merely about how to connect to a FTP stream, my whole project will also include SSL and as far as I've been able to search here and on google, NSStream is capable of "switching" to a SSL connection. I've not been able to see the connection being made (which I'm usually able to do), but I also heard something about having to write to the stream before the stream will open? Any pointers are greatly appreciated, and sorry if my question is annoying - I'm new to Cocoa :)
