• Flex-built SWF's no longer work, error 2048, 2046, 2032

  I'm really confused about this problem, and I'm pretty new to Flex. Basically, anything I try to build with mxmlc fails to run now, giving me the above three errors depending on what I do. It was working 30 minutes ago, I've been spending that time trying to figure out what has changed. I redownloaded the Flex SDK, cleared my assetcache, have cleared Firefox's cache. (I'm using Linux.) Even if I compile with -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=false, since it seems like #2048 is a RSL problem, it still refuses to run. Another strange thing, if I keep <policy-file-url>http://fpdownload.adobe.com/pub/swz/crossdomain.xml</policy-file-url> <rsl-url>textLayout_1.0.0.595.swz</rsl-url> in my flex-config file, then firebug tells me that my swf file is trying to access a copy of that in the app's folder, giving error 2032. And if I stick the one I have in frameworks/rsls/ then it gives me error 2046. I don't know how it could not be properly signed, unless Adobe magically changed a signature and didn't update their flex SDK. Any help will be appreciated.

• Bibliography behaves strange in lyx.

  Hi! I have created a Bibliography section in my document written in lyx. It uses a book layout. For some reason it did start over again when I added some more entries. The new entries was made some time later than the first ones. I just went down to key-27 and hit enter. Then it started on key-1 again. Does anyone know why it behaves like this? • What type of things can cause sgen msbuild task to fail intermittantly with Access Violation?

  In our MSBuild file for our project we sgen an assembly containing classes used during xml serialization. The classes are generated via xsd.exe. We use the following SGen task configuration. <SGen ToolPath="$(SdkPath)" ShouldGenerateSerializer="true" UseProxyTypes="false" BuildAssemblyName="AssemblyName.dll" BuildAssemblyPath="Outputs" ContinueOnError="false" /> Intermittantly the following error is thrown when executing the msbuild script on our build server. Originally this error might have occurred once out of every 50 (CI) builds, recently the frequency has been increasing and it now occurs maybe 5-6 out of every 10 builds. The size of the assembly that is being Sgenned is about 410k (circa 35,000 lines of generated code), and when successfull the serialization assembly is about 1.7M in size. When it fails, the output is as follows: Unhandled Exception: System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. E:\Path_ToBuild_Workspace\SolutionBuild.MSBuild(74,5): error MSB6006: "sgen.exe" exited with code -1073741819. We are using Hudson to manage our builds, so the msbuild and sgen processes are therefore spwaned by the Hudson.exe. There's not much out there on the interwebs regarding this type of error from SGen. Certainly nothing concrete.

• Red5 Unable to Start Distribution.

  I have installed subclipse, Ant, IvyDE, Red5 Plugin for eclipse, All of the Environmental variables are set and the necessary elements have been added to the path. I am attempting to create a Red5 Distribution by using eclipse, opening Build.xml right clicking dist [default] in the outline window and running as and selecting Ant Builder. Eclipse says that the build is Successful. I first stop the Red5 Service, and then I attempt to run the build I create in eclipse it fails, below are the errors that display in the command prompt. I was hoping someone else might have run into a similar issue before. • Portlet container like pluto or jetspeed on google app engine?

  I am trying to build something "portlet server"-ish on the google app engine. (as open source) I'd like to use the JSR168/286 standards, but I think that the restrictions of the app engine will make it somewhere between tricky and impossible. Has anyone tried to run jetspeed or an application that uses pluto internally on the google app engine? Based on my current knowledge of portlets and the google app engine I'm anticipating these problems: A war file with portlets is from the deployment standpoint more or less a complete webapp (yes, I know that it doesn't really work without a portal server). The war file may contain it's own web.xml etc. This makes deployment on the app engine rather difficult, because the apps are not visible to each other, so all portlet containing archives need to be included in the war file of the deployed "app engine based portal server". The "portlets" are (at least in liferay) started as permanent servlet processes, based on their portlet.xmls and web.xmls which is located in the same spot for every portlet archive that is loaded. I think this may be problematic in the app engine, because everything is in one big "web app", so it may be tricky to access the portlet.xmls from each archive. This prevents a 100% compatibility in my opinion. Is here anyone who has any experience with the combination of portlets and the app engine? Do you think it's feasible to modify jetspeed, pluto or any other portlet container to be able to run it on the app engine?

• Mysterious socket / HttpWebRequest timeouts

  I have a great app for capturing shoutcast streams :-) . So far, it worked with a charm on dozens of machines, and never exhibited behaviour I found now, which is ultimately very strange. I use HttpWebRequest to connect to the shoutcast server and when I connect two streams, everything's OK. When I go for third one, response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); throws with Connection Timeout exception. WTF? I must point out that I had to create .config for the application in order to allow my headers to be sent out from the application, otherwise it wouldn't work at all. • Groovlet + Tomcat: "unable to resolve class" when importing libraries

  I'm having some trouble running a groovy servlet (groovlet) in tomcat that imports a library class. When I don't import anything the groovlet works correctly, but if I do import something that I expect to be on the classpath (I can import the same class successfully in a regular servlet), I see the following error: groovy.util.ScriptException: Could not parse scriptName: /MyGroovlet.groovy java.lang.RuntimeException: groovy.util.ScriptException: Could not parse scriptName: /MyGroovlet.groovy at groovy.servlet.GroovyServlet$1.call(GroovyServlet.java:123) ... Caused by: org.codehaus.groovy.control.MultipleCompilationErrorsException: startup failed, /MyGroovlet.groovy: 1: unable to resolve class com.mycompany.mypackage.MyLibraryClass @ line 1, column 1. The jar containing MyLibraryClass is in shared/lib, which is loaded by tomcat by the following in catalina.properties: shared.loader=...,${catalina.base}/shared/lib/*.jar,... • Hibernate fails with NullPointerException in EntityTuplizerFactory.constructTuplizer? Why?

  I have a problem when I try to instantiate Hibernate and connect with a MySQL database (see error message below). Curiously enough the connection works fine using the exact same hibernate.cfg.xml file when running Junit tests but it refuses to work when run from Tomcat... I am starting to run out of ideas. Any clues or tip where to look? • Titanium Appcelerator - After enabling cloud services I get UnicodeDecodeError when compiling for Android

  I've got an app that has a UTF8 name (hebrew). I use the platform/android/AndroidManifest.xml file for this. I've managed to narrow it down to the Ti.cloudpush module. only when I enable this module I get the error.   I am using the following xml to limit input to digits only in an EditText widget. The android:digits attribute uses the below array resource. Everything works great except for the fact that I can't enter the number 4 even though its in the array. • executing stored procedure from Spring-Hibernate using Annotations

  I'm trying to execute a simple stored procedure with Spring/Hibernate using Annotations. But when record is there, following exception is thrown: Exception in thread "main" org.springframework.jdbc.BadSqlGrammarException: Hibernate operation: could not execute query; bad SQL grammar [call SP_APPL_USER(?, ?)]; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column name Do I need to modify the entity(Requestor.class) ? How will the REFCURSOR be converted to the List? The stored procedure is expected to return more than one record.

• Content-disposition:inline header won't show images inline?

  I'm trying to show an image inline on a page. I know when the browser can't display the content inline it will force a download anyway, but these are PNG and GIF images which display in the browser fine otherwise. In IE it doesn't force a download but it displays the image in ASCII. If I comment out the entire image case it FF and Chrome both display the ASCII but not the image. I thought setting the content type would allow FF and Chrome to show the actual image, and also allow the location to be used as an src. The javascript and css shows fine of course. Anyone got any ideas how I can make the images show properly? Thanks :)

• How to get local ActiveMQ broker to "mirror" a queue on a remote ActiveMQ broker?

  I have a local ActiveMQ broker which is on an unreliable internet connection, and also a remote ActiveMQ broker in a reliable datacenter. I have already sorted out a "store and forward" setup so that outgoing messages are sent to the remote broker when the Internet connection is available. That alone works great, but when messages are outbound. However, now I have to do the reverse. Here is the scenario: A new message appears in the remote ActiveMQ broker. The message is put into a specific queue. In a few minutes, the Internet connection becomes available to the local ActiveMQ broker. The local broker should then be able to pull the message from the remote broker, and place it in its own local queue. Local consumers will then be able to see the message. So in essence, I need the local broker to become a subscribed consumer to the remote queue. I have looked through the ActiveMQ documentations but I can't find anything yet about how to do this in the .xml configuration file. Is this what I should be looking for? See: "ActiveMQ: JMS to JMS Bridge". Any advice and tips would be highly appreciated.

  Hi All, We use the caching and logging application blocks from entlib 4.1. We want to keep the configuration of those two in seperate files. How can we achieve this? It looks like entlib is always using the selectedSource as it configuration. • What encoding does InstallShield expect non-latin-alphabet string table entries to use?

  I work on an app that gets distributed via a single installer containing multiple localizations. The build process includes a script that updates the .ism string table with translations for each supported language. This works fine for languages like French and German. But when testing the installer in, i.e. Japanese, the text shows up as a series of squares. It's unlikely to be a font problem, since the InstallShield-supplied strings show up fine; only the string table entries are mangled. So the problem seems to be that the strings are in the wrong encoding. The .ism is in XML format, with UTF-8 declared as its encoding, so I assumed the strings needed to be UTF-8 encoded as well. Do they actually need to use the encoding of the target platform? Is there any concern, then, about targets having different encodings, i.e. Chinese systems using one GB-encoding versus another? What is the right thing to do here?

  I am receiving the following error in my code (c#, .Net 3.5, VS2008) when I try to connect to an Excel sheet and fill a OleDbDataAdapter with the results of a query. First the error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. And here is the code, which is honestly pretty simple: var excelFileName = string.Format("c:/Metadata_Tool.xlsm"); var connectionString = string.Format("Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0; Data Source={0}; Extended Properties=Excel 12.0;HDR=YES;", excelFileName); var adapter = new OleDbDataAdapter("Select * FROM [Video Tagging XML]", connectionString); var ds = new DataSet(); adapter.Fill(ds, "VTX"); DataTable data = ds.Tables["VTX"]; foreach (DataRow myRow in data.Rows) { foreach (DataColumn myColumn in data.Columns) { Console.Write("\t{0}", myRow[myColumn]); } Console.WriteLine(); } Console.ReadLine(); I get the error on the line adapter.Fill(ds,"VTX");.
