  • I need an other videocard to replace my ATI HD 5870 which one is good? [closed]

    At this moment I have a ATI HD 5870 iCooler 5 and I game a lot. I want to replace the card for another, I don't have room in my case to add another 5870. I mainly play games like Battlefield 3, but I can't play this game on Ultra high, for me is this pretty important. So here are my questions: Price is not an issue because computers are a big hobby to me and hobbies cost money :-) Can anyone recommend me a better card, ATI or Nvidia does not mather to me. Why is this card better?

  • Moving SQL Server databases from one drive to another?

    I have a SQL Server 2008 R2 on my machine which stores everything on the C: drive (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA). I got an additional Hard Drive now and would like to move all the databases over. It's 26 databases, so I'd like to avoid manually disconnecting/reconnecting them. Ideally I would just like to move them from C: and D: and tell SQL Server to look there. Downtime is not an issue, I just don't want to do dozens of mouse clicks :)

    I was going through some previous posts on CONNECT BY usage. What I need to find is that what to do if I want to get all the parents (i.e, up to root) and just one child for a node, say 4. It seems Like I will have to use union of the following two:- SELECT * FROM hierarchy START WITH id = 4 CONNECT BY id = PRIOR parent union SELECT * FROM hierarchy WHERE LEVEL =<2 START WITH id = 4 CONNECT BY parent = PRIOR id Is there a better way to do this, some workaround that is more optimized?

    i tried making library with ar -r -c -s libtestlib.a *.o as given in this tutorial http://matrixprogramming.com/Tools/CompileLink.html But on linking with library following error comes g++ -o uni2asc uni2asc.o -L../Modules -ltestlib ../Modules/libtestlib.a: could not read symbols: Archive has no index; run ranlib to add one collect2: ld returned 1 exit status i tried with ranlib also but still the error comes.. im working with ubuntu9.10 Please suggest me some solution for this

The following file name is working fine: /storage/sdcard0/myapp/transfer/Net worth over time _ Forecast (2012-11-19 11070).pdf I tried the following troubleshooting: It's not the overall length of the file name, as if I shorten the base name, the same behavior remains It's not GMail, uploading the file to Google Drive fails similarly 16 characters inside the parentheses work, but not 17 It's not the space character inside the parentheses that causes the issue, as I replaced it with a dash and it's the same problem. Anybody has any ideas on what's going on here?

In other words, what is the keyboard program supposed to send to its calling program (some kind of editor) if the user intends to move the cursor one char to the left?   • Moving files with batch files from one pc to a server, to a another pc - worried about disk corruption

    I use scheduled tasks that calls a batch file, that calls more batch files to move about three files from a pc, to a server, then to multiple other pcs. It all happens very quickly, as they are small files. Are there any pitfalls for how fast these transfers happen? I'm just mildly concerned about causing some disk corruption somehow. I use logic like 1. Call MapToPc if files exist then move file to folder on server. Disconnect 2. Call SendtoPCs If files exist (the files just moved to the server) then MapToPCs Move all files Disconnect All of this happens in about 2 secs or less. edit: this on windows 7, server 2003, xp respectively

The File is in the following format: | Customer | Name | ... | Orders 1 | 6 | ... | ... | 1234 2 | | | | 4567 3 | | | | 8910 4 | 3 | ... | ... | 3210 5 | | | | 8765 6 | 1 | ... | ... | 1000 7 | | | | 1001 I need to sort this thing on a column which is only "filled" in the first line of a "record" (here: Line 1-3, 4+5, 6+7) like "Customer" in this example. Is there a way (without falling back to VBA) to keep the lines together which form a "record" while sorting on them. I know, this is abusing Excel but I have no other choise here. The expected output after sorting on "Customer" would be: | Customer | Name | ... | Orders 1 | 1 | ... | ... | 1000 2 | | | | 1001 3 | 3 | ... | ... | 3210 4 | | | | 8765 5 | 6 | ... | ... | 1234 6 | | | | 4567 7 | | | | 8910

I have those partitions (in Windows) for example: Hard Disk 1 - Partition C, Partition D Hard Disk 2 - Partition E Is there any way in a program language to know if for example partition C and partition D are in one physical hard disk without WMI? I don't want to use WMI because it's slow - for this example, it took for me 0.5 seconds. I need it to be fast. Thank you.

    Am I crazy for considering purchasing a Cisco 2621 for the house? I am familiar enough with IOS to set up a simple gateway router, I don't really need the experience. At this point, I'm a developer so my days of crawling through CO's and under desks are long past me. But I am really sick of crappy consumer grade networking gear. Maybe I have lousy luck and this stack of WRTG54s is just because I have lousy power, or whatever.
