  • redirect wont work in Chrome

    I have a form on my website. When this form is filled out, it is then validated by a javascript validation function. At the bottom of this function I have this piece of code: window.location="../index.html"; This wont work on Chrome, but does work in Firefox. My Q is, how can I make this simple redirect work on all (most) browsers? Thanks

  • Modifying html of dom element that was created after page loaded

    I have two separate AJAX calls. One that gets a list of items from a txt file and creates an HTML table out of them and one that talks to a database to find how much each item costs and then lists this in the corresponding table cell for each item (I know this may sound like a strange approach, but it's a good option in our case...). The issue is that the price is not getting written to the table since the table is created (or to be precise, the rows of the table are created) after the page loads.   • JQM Nested Popups

    I am having a hard time with the new Alpha release of JQM not showing nested popups. For example, I am displaying a popup form that the user is supposed to fill out, if the server side validation fails, I want to display an error popup. I am finding that the error popup is not being shown.   • IE7 preventDefault() not working on skip links

    I currently have skip links that jump to the div ids and was using e.preventDefault() to stop the url from changing when jumping to the element but in IE7 and IE8 it doesn't work at all using e.preventDefault() and if I take it out the url changes to the div the anchor tag contains reference to. Is their any fix or way around this?     We would like to add a checkbox to each row on Rails index page to flag for the row. This checkbox is not part of the object (no checkbox boolean in database). When the index page shows, a user can check the box to trigger an event for the row in following process: #objects/checkbox_index.html.erb <table> <tr> <th>CheckBox</th> <th>Object Name</th> <th>Object ID</th> </tr> <%= @objects.each do |obj| %> <tr> <td><%= checkbox %></td> <td><%= obj.name %></td> <td><%= obj.id %></td> </tr> <% end %> </table> In controller, the process will be like this: @objects.each do |obj| some_event if obj.checked end There are a couple of questions we don't quite understand: 1. How to declare an array checkbox variable on the form and link it to each row of obj? We have been using `attr_accessor` to declare var for a form. 2. How to retrieve each row on checkbox_index form and pass them back to controller? We are using simple_form for new/edit. Can anyone point me towards any good examples of this sort of behavior, or suggest what we should be thinking about? Many Thanks.

  • Javascript click function for multiple Classes

    So basically I have this little social networking site which allow comments. I've built a comment section that will slide down once a user clicks "Comment" and it slides down under the users status. My problem is that right now, the JavaScript only works on ONE post ID, and not the rest obviously seeing you can only use an ID once. But of course if I use classes instead, All the comment sections slide down because now they're all the same class. See below for my HTML and JavaScript.   • Slide Effect happening too many times

    Hello all, I call this functions on onmouseover and onmouseout for several divs. //Takes effect on divs with id, 62,63,64,65... function slide_it(id){ $('#options_'+id).slideToggle('slow'); } The problem is that if I move my mouse over and then mouse out, then again, mouse over and then mouse out. If I do this several times, the slide effect happens the same number of times I moved my mouse over and out of the div, as expected. But I can't figure out how I can do this once? I can set a variable, but I have several divs that this function is used by and I can't think of a simple way of doing this rather than storing things into an array, but this is messy! I really appreciate any help on this that is simple to implement! Thanks all for any help

  • Check if previous clicked value is inside an array

    I have a list with different categories. All the list item are clickable. I want the user to pick between 1 and 3 items. They can toggle their choice, but maximum is alway 3. So far, so good. Where it get tricky for me, is that I have some special categories that can't be combined with any others. When a user click on one of these, all the other categories deselect and they can't add any other, (these item have only 1 category selection possible) Exemple: Let's say "Car" is a special category. If they click on Car, everything else deselect, Car is selected, and they can't select anything else. BUT they can click again on Car to deselect it, and from there the logic start over. What's missing in my code is the part in bold just above this.     I want to make it so that everytime you click on an 'h2' tag, the 'input' inside gets selected and the 'h2' tag changes background, but if another 'h2' tag is clicked, the current highlight and 'input' selection changes accordingly. problem is that I have 3 different that do the same and with my code all the 3 forms are affected rather one. How do i limit my changes to only be contained to that form.
