• UITableViewCell no userInteraction but on cell.accessoryView

  hello genius and nerds I have a TableViewCell with a UISwitch in accessoryView. I don't want that blue background if someone selected it. There fore i used cell.userInteractionEnabled = NO; but then the whole cell isnt accessable so i tried that cell.userInteractionEnabled = NO; cell.accessoryView.userInteractionEnabled = YES; i think this wont work because cell is the parent of the accessoryView. but how can i manage this issue ? A hint in the right direction would be great. • Using JBoss EL with Websphere

  Hey, I'm doing a project which is going to run on Websphere. I'm using JSF/Facelets/Richfaces for this project. I want to use the JBoss EL implementation as it allows calling methods with parameters from EL etc. ... usually this is accomplished by getting the JBoss EL jar and then putting this in the web.xml: <context-param> <param-name>com.sun.faces.expressionFactory</param-name> <param-value>org.jboss.el.ExpressionFactoryImpl</param-value> </context-param> However this isn't working ... I don't know if its a problem with Websphere or ...??? • How can I create a custom UIToolbar like component in a UITableViewController?

  I have a UITableViewController. I want a "toolbar-ish" component at the bottom. I started by using a background image and a button. In interface builder, I added them to the bottom of the iPhone screen. The problem I ran into was that the background image and button scrolled with the table. I obviously need this fixed at the bottom. Not finding too much direction online, I decided to customize a UIToolbar to look how I want since the position is fixed by default. In my initWithNibName for my UITableViewController, I have: UIImage *shuffleButtonImage = [UIImage imageNamed:@"shuffle_button.png"]; NSArray* toolbarItems = [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithImage:shuffleButtonImage style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(push:)], nil]; [toolbarItems makeObjectsPerformSelector:@selector(release)]; self.toolbarItems = toolbarItems; The problem I am running into now is that the "shuffleButtonImage" is not showing up properly. The shape of the button shows up fine but it is colored white and therefore does not look like the image. Does anyone know why a "white image" would be showing instead of the actual image? Also does it sound like a good idea to customize a UIToolbar or is there a simple way to ensure a fixed position "toolbar-ish" component. To reiterate - my "toolbar-ish" component only needs to be one button at the button of my UITableView. The single button has a gradient color background that I create with an image.

• Scaling gwt's "Contacts" (sample project) AppController with MVP

  I'm just learning GWT so I'm still trying to sort out all of its quirks and features. I'm reading through the example they give illustrating the MVP pattern, and I pretty much get it, except I'm wondering about one thing. The AppController they use implements the ValueChangeHandler interface and the onValueChange method is triggered when history changes. My problem is with this onValueChange in the AppController (i've included it below for anyone who hasn't seen the sample project). It's doing a string comparison on the history token sent in and instantiating the appropriate presenter to handle the action. This is all fine and dandy for the sample app with 3 actions, but how would one scale this to a real app with many more actions? Sticking to this pattern would lead to a pretty large/ugly else if, but I'm still too new to GWT (and java) to infer a better pattern for larger apps. After play around for a couple days, and found that it's really powerful framework to creat service and easy to use. :) Now, I came across a small question. I created a project which uses NServiceBus, it got normal message handlers and Saga handlers. And also I created a couple tests around these with NServiceBus.Testing framework. It all works fine when I run the tests via ReSharper Test Runner works and NUnit console, they all works fine, but when I include them into NAnt build script, it throw the following exception: System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException : Unable to load one or more of the requested types. • Dynamically loaded control - how can I access a value in Page_Init

  I am loading a LinkButton dynamically when a user clicks on another LinkButton. I am attaching an event handler to it. When the user clicks on the dynamically loaded LinkButton, the event does not fire. From what I've been reading, I understand this is because when the page posts back the dynamically loaded control no longer exists. It looks like I'm supposed to make sure this control is recreated in Page_Init. The dynamically created LinkButton is dependedent on a value (Product ID). I need someway to access this value so I can properly create the control. ViewState is not accessible and I'm concerned if I use Session it could time out and then that wouldn't help. Any ideas? Also, I hardcoded a Product ID value just for testing, and that still did not cause the event to fire. • ng-grid checkbox with filtering

  If I have a huge table with ng-grid, and I enabled a checkbox to select all. Is there a way for me to combine this selectAll feature with the filtering box. I mean when I filter out the rows, I want to click the checkbox so that the rows filtered will be all selected; once I clean out filter, those selectedRows are still left so that I can add more rows into it with other filters.   I'm using linq to SQL and MVC2 with data annotations and I'm having some problems on validation of some types. Positief geheel getal verwacht")] public string Proj_GeplandeSessies { get; set; } This is an integer, and I'm validating to get a positive number from the form. public class PositiefGeheelGetalAttribute : RegularExpressionAttribute { public PositiefGeheelGetalAttribute() : base(@"\d{1,7}") { } } Now the problem is that when I write text in the input, I don't get to see THIS error, but I get the errormessage from the modelbinder saying "The value 'Tomorrow' is not valid for Geplande sessies." What I really want is that my self-written error messages show up on the screen. I have the same problem with a DateTime, which i want the users to write in the specific form 'dd/MM/yyyy' and i have a regex for that. but again, by the time the data-annotations do their job, all i get is a DateTime Object, and not the original string. So if the input is not a date, the regex does not even run, cos the data annotations just get a null, cos the model binder couldn't make it to a DateTime. Does anyone have an idea how to make this work?

  Hello, I am building an application that requires a search to go deeper than the initial level. I am using nested scopes to accomplish this and params in the URL For example, when a user searches for "handbag" it creates a query like the following. http://localhost:3000/junks?search=handbag&condition=&category=&main_submit=Go! I want to add a :filter param to the end of this url and reload the page with the new url. http://localhost:3000/junks?search=handbag&condition=&category=&main_submit=Go!&filter=lowest_price As shown above the &filter=lowest_price is added to the query. I have already written controller code to handle this and I know it works as long as the query is like the 2nd link above. my views code <div class = "filter_options"> <p> <strong>Filter by:</strong> <%= link_to_unless_current "Recent", :filter => 'recent' %> | <%= link_to_unless_current "Lowest Price", :filter => 'lowest_price' %> | <%= link_to_unless_current "Highest Price", :filter => 'highest_price' %> </p> </div> This is how I have it currently, which works if my URL does not have a search string attached to it. Unfortunately, this will go to a http://localhost:3000/junks?filter=lowest_price even if there is a search string. I would like to know how to create my links so that they add onto the search string shown in the 2nd code example. Additionally, if a search string with a filter is already present, it would only change that filter and resubmit the search string with the new filter. I hope I am being clear.

• Google maps API V3 code to V2 help.

  I've started working on a project to inject markers into a map with jQuery by looping through rows on a table in the page. After getting it working I realized that I was accessing the V3 API and using V3 syntax. I've been beating my head against a wall trying to get this working in google maps API V2. • Perl on MacOS X 10.6.2: GDBM_File missing, how to install or work around?

  When I need a Perl module, I typically use CPAN. It works fine. But not this time. I want to use MARC::Charset, but this one uses GDBM_File, and I can't seem to install GDBM_File from CPAN. CPAN finds it all right, but trying to install it, it starts installing the full Perl 5.10.1 distribution. MARC::Charset is a rather old module, so there should be a way to use it from some common Perl version (Mac OS X 10.6.2 has 5.10.0 and 5.8.9 by default). While installing the full blow Perl 5.10.1 is not an option, modifying MARC::Charset to stop using GDBM_File might be one. What would be the best course of action to do so? This last option might also be the only one. googling GDBM_File uncovers a few items that suggest that gdbm is not even available on the Mac. Those items typically went over my head though. While I don't expect a silver bullet, somebody may have a pointer or two on where I should start. After all, MARC::Charset only does character transliteration to/from the marc8 char set, which unfortunately, iconv doesn't seem to support.

• How to ajax load a parent-child listbox in JQuery/Asp.net MVC popup?

  hi guys, i'm new to the asp.net mvc. and i have a link which will popup show a 3 panes listbox which allows the user to select country, region and language. and when the user click on the language, this will redirect back to the controller and refresh the page and show the proper localized content. i was thinking of using a jquery dialog/modal to do this but so i try using fancybox for this which will load the hidden div of the three listbox up. unfortunately, on clicking on the first listbox, the page will call a jquery event which will show the populate the 2nd list box in which the lightbox will close. is there a better way to do this? or i'm not using the proper jquery plugin? i was thinking of putting the whole three panes inside a html file and do ajax call to get the content into that page and load the listbox like that and just use the html popup like a normal popup. Any suggestions? i'm stuck, help!!

• ASP.NET MVC Session Expiration

  We have an internal ASP.NET MVC application that requires a logon. Log on works great and does what's expected. We have a session expiration of 15 minutes. After sitting on a single page for that period of time, the user has lost the session. If they attempt to refresh the current page or browse to another, they will get a log on page. We keep their request stored so once they've logged in they can continue on to the page that they've requested. This works great. However, my issue is that on some pages there are AJAX calls. For example, they may fill out part of a form, wander off and let their session expire. When they come back, the screen is still displayed. If they simply fill in a box (which will make an AJAX call) the AJAX call will return the Logon page (inside of whatever div the AJAX should have simply returned the actual results). This looks horrible. I think that the solution is to make the page itself expire (so that when a session is terminated, they automatically are returned to the logon screen without any action by them). However, I'm wondering if there are opinions/ideas on how best to implement this specifically in regards to best practices in ASP.NET MVC.

I wanted to remain get since I want to limit to columns that was set on $fields. What would should be the better idea to paginate this thing? or what's a good substitute for get and limit the columns? • How to filter queryset in changelist_view in django admin?

  Let's say I have a site where Users can add Entries through admin panel. Each User has his own Category he is responsible for (each Category has an Editor assigned through ForeingKey/ManyToManyField). When User adds Entry, I limit the choices by using EntryAdmin like this: class EntryAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): (...) def formfield_for_foreignkey(self, db_field, request, **kwargs): if db_field.name == 'category': if request.user.is_superuser: kwargs['queryset'] = Category.objects.all() else: kwargs['queryset'] = Category.objects.filter(editors=request.user) return db_field.formfield(**kwargs) return super(EntryAdmin, self).formfield_for_foreignkey(db_field, request, **kwargs) This way I can limit the categories to which a User can add Entry and it works perfect. Now the tricky part: On the Entry changelist/action page I want to show only those Entries which belong to current User's Category. I tried to do this using this method: def changelist_view(self, request, extra_context=None): if not request.user.is_superuser: self.queryset = self.queryset.filter(editors=request.user) But I get this error: AttributeError: 'function' object has no attribute 'filter' This is strange, because I thought it should be a typical QuerySet. Basically such methods are not well documented and digging through tons of Django code is not my favourite sport. Any ideas how can I achieve my goal?

  Hi, I use paperclip to add a file to my model. I want to use the new feature of firefox 3.6, xhr.sendAsBinary, to send a file with an ajax request. • Facebook multi-friend-selector + new javascript API = BROKEN ?

  I am using the fb:serverfbml tag to render a multi-friend-selector inside an IFrame. I am using the new javascript API. I have been trying ALL DAY to get it working. When I click on the underlines 'selected' link (to filter by the selected friends) the whole page refreshes and the selected friends disappear.
