Is it possible to get the really-Full package to install on the desktop that haven't internet at all?

  • How can I get logrotate dateext to reflect the log date rather than the rotation date?

    My Apache logrotate config looks like this: /var/log/http/*log { monthly dateext dateformat .%Y.%m [... rest stripped for brevity ...] } This works great, except that the date on the rotated filename is one period later than the period actually covered by the logs, for example error_log.2012.09 covers 2012-08-01 to 2012-08-31. I realize that there are other options for Apache (eg. cronolog), but I have a bunch of other logs that I also need to rotate, and logrotate is really exactly what I need apart from this one issue. Is there a way to get logrotate to use a date offset -- or, even better, figure out the previous time period -- when generating the rotated filename?

  • Has anyone ever worked with a UX designer who also did the graphic design, is it a good combination?

    I need to design a new framework for web based apps, including both UX guidelines and the art/graphic design guidelines such as what menus will look like, headers, colors, fonts etc. The UX designers I met, were unable to provide the artistic side, and the graphic designers didn't have the UX skills. Should I continue to look for one person with both skills, or is it better broken to two separate tasks?

    I have a situation where I need to extract dates from the file names whose general pattern is [filename_]YYYYMMDD[.fileExtension] e.g. "xxx_20100326.xls" or x2v_20100326.csv The below program does the work //Number of charecter in the substring is set to 8 //since the length of YYYYMMDD is 8 public static string ExtractDatesFromFileNames(string fileName) { return fileName.Substring(fileName.IndexOf("_") + 1, 8); } Is there any better option of achieving the same?     I'm learning about metaclasses in Python. I think it is a very powerful technique, and I'm looking for good uses for them. I'd like some feedback of good useful real-world examples of using metaclasses. I'm not looking for example code on how to write a metaclass (there are plenty examples of useless metaclasses out there), but real examples where you have applied the technique and it was really the appropriate solution. The rule is: no theoretical possibilities, but metaclasses at work in a real application. I'll start with the one example I know: Django models, for declarative programming, where the base class Model uses a metaclass to fill the model objects of useful ORM functionality from the attribute definitions.     Hello! I start to look at Node.js. Aslo I'm using Express. And I have a question - how can I organize web application routes? All examples just put all this app.get/post/put() handlers in app.js and it works just fine. This is good but if I have something more than simple HW Blog? Is it possible to do something like this: var app = express.createServer(); app.get( '/module-a/*', require('./module-a').urls ); app.get( '/module-b/*', require('./module-b').urls ); and // file: module-a.js urls.get('/:id', function(req, res){...}); // <- assuming this is handler for /module-a/1 In other words - I'd like something like Django's URLConf but in Node.js.

I am almost completely unfamiliar with writing batch scripts, but I know how to write my entire script except the logic I describe above.   • How to convert excel individual cell values to percentage change values over time

    I have two years of excel data showing daily share prices of a particular stock. I want to change those values to show percentage change (on a daily basis) from the zero date (ie the first day of the two year period). I know that the formula for showing daily percentage change would be (second day/first day -1) and that I can click and drag on that formula to extend over the rest of the two-year time period. The formula I want would be, basically, (each day/first day-1). Is there an easy way to automate the script so I dont have to type it out 730 times?

  • USB 3.0 hub; what can it power?

    I own an Asus UX31A laptop, equipped with 2 USB 3.0 ports. I would like to connect several USB devices to one of these ports, using a USB 3.0 hub. 1) Am I correct in assuming the Asus "USB Charger+" commercial blurb corresponds to the USB 3.0 standard "Battery Charging Specification 1.2", and furthermore inferring that the laptop can deliver 1.5A through a USB port? 2) Does a powered external USB 3.0 hard drive draw on the USB power lines? 3) I would like to connect the aforementionned drive, an android phone, and a 200mA rated optical mouse to an unpowered USB 3.0 hub, itself plugged into the laptop.     Basically I want to use the WPF Binding framework to "observe" a property in the data context, and when that value changes to call an event handler. I do not actually want to bind it to any target. Sounds simple but from what I can see Binding is too coupled (to the visual tree and various other bits) to be able to use it flexibly. Any thoughts?

    I have a xen server with xen-4.1.3, linux-image-3.2.0-3-amd64, debian squeeze and 16Gb of RAM. The domain-0 has 1Gb of ram, the rest of memory belongs to the hypervisor. I want to start a guest domain with a minimal amount of memory and increase it runtime later. When I start a guest domain with 256Mb of ram and run xm mem-set domu 4Gb, I get ~3Gb only in domu and a guest domain free says: root@test:~# free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 2830620 72868 2757752 0 2432 43504 -/+ buffers/cache: 26932 2803688 Swap: 1048572 0 1048572 And a guest domain dmesg says: [ 0.000000] Memory: 175912k/2883584k available (3527k kernel code, 448k absent, 2707224k reserved, 3210k data, 612k init) When I start a guest domain with 2Gb of ram I can run xm mem-set domu 7Gb and get ~7Gb of ram in a guest domain: root@test:~# free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 6828228 74944 6753284 0 1328 12568 -/+ buffers/cache: 61048 6767180 Swap: 1048572 0 1048572 And a guest domain dmesg: [ 0.000000] Memory: 1674960k/16651264k available (3527k kernel code, 448k absent, 14975856k reserved, 3210k data, 612k init) How can I start a guest domain with a minimal amount of ram (256Mb) and increase it under 15Gb?

  • Enable group policy for everything but the SBS?

    I have created a new group policy to disable IPv6 on all machines. There is only the one default OU, no special configuration. However, this policy shall not apply to the SBS its self (nor the other DC at another location on a different subnet) because those machines do depend on IPv6. All the rest do not. I did see a recommendation to create a new OU and put that machine under it, but many other comments say that is extremely messy and not recommended - makes it high maintenance when it comes to changing other group policies. How can I apply this single group policy to every machine except for the domain controllers? PS - Yes, I understand IPv6 will soon be the new standard, but until then, we have no intention to implement it, and it in fact is causing us many issues when enabled.
