  hi all, i am using cruise control to automate the svn commit process. but the execution of svn commit command restores the files which i deleted from my working copy. the way i am doing is. 1. delete some files in my working copy.( no. of files in my WC is less than no. of files in repository) 2. execute svn command using cruise control. <exec executable="svn.exe"> <buildArgs>ci -m "test msg" --no-auth-cache --non-interactive</buildArgs> <buildTimeoutSeconds>1000</buildTimeoutSeconds> </exec> result: the deleted files are restored in my WC... I have a SqlStringCommand and the sql is constructed using StringBuilder in the forms of "insert into table (column1, column2, column3) values (@param1-X, @param2-X, @parm3-X)"+" " where "X" represents a "for loop" about 700 rows StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); for(int i=0; i<700; i++) { sb.Append("insert into table (column1, column2, column3) values (@param1-"+i+", @param2-"+i, +",@parm3-"+i+") " ); } followed by constructing a command object injecting all the parameters w/ values into it. Essentially, 700 rows with 3 parameters, I ended up with 2100 parameters for this "one sql" Statement. It ran fine for about a few days and suddenly I got this error =============================================================== A severe error occurred on the current command. • Flex: How to resize DisplayObject to fit panel in Flex application

  I am trying to attach some of my actionscript class, inherited from Sprite, to my Flex application by attaching it to a UIComponent, then add UIComponent to a panel. However, the size of my Sprite class appears to be larger than the panel. So, I try to resize it using DisplayObject.scale property, but I need to know the size of my container. Since I try to make my code reusable, I figure that I should let my Sprite class handle the resize by getting it via its parent property (let's say, I can resize it by set this.scaleX = this.parent.Width/this.width or something like this) However, my Sprite class's parent, which is the UIComponent, has width/height of 0. So, my question is: 1) Is there any better way to resize DisplayObject class to fit its container when attached to Flex object? 2) If you know, why my UIComponent's size remain 0 and my DisplayObject still appears at its full size?   Hello, Say i have 5 tables, tblBlogs tblBlogPosts tblBlogPostComment tblUser tblBlogMember BlogId BlogPostsId BlogPostCommentId UserId BlogMemberId BlogTitle BlogId CommentText FirstName UserId PostTitle BlogPostsId BlogId BlogMemberId Now i want to retrieve only those blogs and posts for which blogMember has actually commented. So in short, how do i write this plain old sql :- Select b.BlogTitle, bp.PostTitle, bpc.CommentText from tblBlogs b Inner join tblBlogPosts bp on b.BlogId = bp.BlogId Inner Join tblBlogPostComment bpc on bp.BlogPostsId = bpc.BlogPostsId Inner Join tblBlogMember bm On bpc.BlogMemberId = bm.BlogMemberId Where bm.UserId = 1; As you can see, everything is Inner join, so only that row will be retrieved for which the user has commented on some post of some blog. So, suppose he has joined 3 blogs whose ids are 1,2,3 (The blogs which user has joined are in tblBlogMembers) but the user has only commented in blog 2 (of say BlogPostId = 1). So that row will be retrieved and 1,3 won't as it is Inner Join. How do i write this kind of query in jpql? In jpql, we can only write simple queries like say :- Select bm.blogId from tblBlogMember Where bm.UserId = objUser; Where objUser is supplied using :- em.find(User.class,1); Thus once we get all blogs(Here blogId represents a blog object) which user has joined, we can loop through and do all fancy things. But i don't want to fall in this looping business and write all this things in my java code. Instead, i want to leave that for database engine to do. So, how do i write the above plain sql into jpql? and what type of object the jpql query will return? because i am only selecting few fields from all table. In which class should i typecast the result to? I think i posted my requirement correctly, if i am not clear please let me know. Thanks in advance :).

• XML String into a DataGridView (C#)

  I am currently working with a webservice to pull a report about users in a remote support system. After pulling my report and receiving the result, I am given the following string back by the method: <report><header><field id="0">Source</field><field id="1">Session ID</field><field id="2">Date</field><field id="3">Name</field><field id="24">Technician Name</field><field id="25">Technician ID</field></header><data><row><field id="0">Email</field><field id="1">55037806</field><field id="2">4/13/2010 2:28:06 AM</field><field id="3">Bill Gates</field><field id="24">John</field><field id="25">1821852</field></row><row><field id="0">Telephone</field><field id="1">55034548</field><field id="2">4/13/2010 12:59:44 AM</field><field id="3">Steve Jobs</field><field id="24">John</field><field id="25">1821852</field></row></data></report> After receiving this string, I need to take it and display the actual data in a datagridview. I've tried putting it into an XMLDocument then reading that, but it seems to keep failing. Just interested in another set of eyes :) Application is written in C# in VS2010.

It looks like: A first chance exception of type 'System.NotSupportedException' occurred in PresentationCore.dll The number of exceptions generates equals the number of thumbnails to be generated. Using "trial and error" I have isolated the problem to: BitmapFrame.Create(bi) Removing that line (makes my function useless) also removes the exception. I have not found any explanation to this,,, or a better method to create thumbnails i a background thread. Can anyone help me? //lasse

  I have a Zend_Form that has 4 or more subforms. /** Code Snippet **/ $bigForm = new Zend_Form(); $littleForm1 = new Form_LittleForm1(); $littleForm1->setMethod('post'); $littleForm2 = new Form_LittleForm2(); $littleForm2->setMethod('post'); $bigForm->addSubForm($littleForm1,'littleForm1',0); $bigForm->addSubForm($littleForm2,'littleForm2',0); On clicking the 'submit' button, I'm trying to print out the values entered into the forms, like so: /** Code snippet, currently not validating, just printing **/ if($this-_request-getPost()){ $formData = array(); foreach($bigForm->getSubForms() as $subForm){ $formData = array_merge($formData, $subForm->getValues()); } /* Testing */ echo "<pre>"; print_r($formData); echo "</pre>"; } The end result is that - all the elements in the form do get printed, but the values entered before posting the form don't get printed. • Menu items messed up while using MacVim with Vim Latex

  I just installed macvim yesterday and I have been trying to install vim latex today. The one thing I am confused about is the menu items on the top bar: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <apple icon> File Edit Tools Syntax TeX-Suite TeX-Environments TeX-Elements ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Packages > |_____ | Templates > | 1: | | Macros > | 2: | |----------- | 3: | | Compile | 4: | | View |----- | ... | ------------- So in words if you go TeX-Suite -> Templates there is a sub menu with menu items: 1: 2: 3: 4:. Now I know that these templates live here: % pwd /Users/me/.vim/ftplugin/latex-suite/templates % ls IEEEtran.tex article.tex report.tex report_two_column.tex and they are named correctly. Also I know that the :TTemplate vim command should do the same thing. When I type that I get this result: Choose a template file: (1) IEEEtran (2) article (3) report (4) report_two_column Enter number or name of file : So I am thinking that this must be a bug in MacVim. Is this a reasonable assumption? Any fixes?

• TableView Cells unresponsive

  I have a TableView and I wish to be able to press several cells one after the other and have messages appear. At the moment the cells are often unresponsive. I found some coed for a similar problem someone was kind enough to post, however, although he claimed it worked 100% it doesn't work for me. The app won't even build. Here's the code: -(UIView*) hitTest:(CGPoint)point withEvent:(UIEvent*)event { // check to see if the hit is in this table view if ([self pointInside:point withEvent:event]) { UITableViewCell* newCell = nil; // hit is in this table view, find out // which cell it is in (if any) for (UITableViewCell* aCell in self.visibleCells) { if ([aCell pointInside:[self convertPoint:point toView:aCell] withEvent:nil]) { newCell = aCell; break; } } // if it touched a different cell, tell the previous cell to resign // this gives it a chance to hide the keyboard or date picker or whatever if (newCell != activeCell) { [activeCell resignFirstResponder]; self.activeCell = newCell; // may be nil } } // return the super's hitTest result return [super hitTest:point withEvent:event]; } With this code I get this warning: that my viewController may not respond to pointsInside:withEvent (it's a TableViewController). I also get some faults: request for member 'visibleCells' in something not a structure or a union. incompatible type for argument 1 of pointInsideWithEvent, expression does not have a valid object type and similar. I must admit I'm not so good at reading other people's code but I was wondering whether the problems here are obvious and if so if anyone could give me a pointer it would be greatly appreciated.

• How to suppress quotes in Powershell commands to executables

  Is there any way to supress the enclosing quotation marks around each command-line argument that powershell likes to generate and then pass to external executables for command line arguments that have spaces in them? Here's the situation: One way to unpack many installers is a command of the form: msiexec /a <packagename> /qn TARGETDIR="<path to folder with spaces>" Trying to execute this from powershell has proven quite difficult. Powershell likes to enclose parameters with spaces in double-quotes. The following lines: msiexec /a somepackage.msi /qn 'TARGETDIR="c:\some path"' msiexec /a somepackage.msi /qn $('TARGETDIR="c:\some path"') $td = '"c:\some path"' msiexec /a somepackage.msi /qn TARGETDIR=$td All result in the following command line (as reported by the Win32 GetCommandLine() api): "msiexec" /a somepackage.msi /qn "TARGETDIR="c:\some path"" This command line: msiexec /a somepackage.msi TARGETDIR="c:\some path" /qn results in "msiexec" /a fooinstaller.msi "TARGETDIR=c:\some path" /qn It seems that Powershell likes to enclose the results of expressions meant to represent one argument in quotation marks when passing them to external executables. This works fine for most executables. However, MsiExec is very specific about the quoting rules it wants and won't accept any of the command lines Powershell generates for paths have have spaces in them. Is there any way to suppress this behavior?

  It's actually two questions in one: What is the right attitude for a programmer? How do you (or would you) look for one when interviewing or during hiring process? Please note this question is not about personality or traits of a candidate, it is about their attitude towards what they do for living. This is also not about reverse of programmers pet peeves. The question has been made community wiki, since I am interested in a good answer rather than reputation. I disagree that the question is purely subjective and just a matter of opinion: clearly some attitudes make a better programmer than others. Consecutively, there might quite possibly exist an attitude that is common to the most of the better programmers. Update: After some deliberation I came up with the following attitude measurement scales: identifies themselves with the job ? fully detached perceives code as a collection of concepts ? sees code as a sequence of steps thinks of creating software as an art ? takes 100% rational approach to design and development Answers that include some sort of a comment on the appropriateness of these scales are greatly appreciated. Definition of "attitude": a complex mental state involving beliefs and feelings and values and dispositions to act in certain ways; "he had the attitude that work was fun" The question came as a result of some reflection on the top voted answer to "How do you ensure code quality?" here on Stack Overflow.

  I code WinForm application where one of the input is magnetic stripe card reader (CR). I am using code George Mamaladze's article Processing Global Mouse and Keyboard Hooks in C# on codeproject.com to listen keyboard (USB card reader acts same way as keyboard) and I have weird situation. One card reader CR1 (Unitech MS240-2UG) produces keystroke which I intercept on KeyPress event analyze that I intercept certain patter like %ABCD-6EFJHI? and trigger some logic. Analysis required because user can type something else into application or in another application meanwhile my app is open When I use another card reader CR2 (IdTech IDBM-334133) keystroke intercepted by hook started from number 5 instead of % (It is actually same key on keyboard). Since it is starting sentinel it is very important for me to have ability recognize input from card reader. Moreover if my app running in background and I have focus on Notepad when I swipe card string %ABCD-6EFJHI? appears in Notepad and same way, with proper starting character) intercepted by keyboard hook. If swiped when focus on Form it is 5ABCD-6EFJHI? User who tried app with another card reader has same result as me with CR2. Only CR1 works for me as expected I was looking into Device manager of Windows and both devices use same HID driver supplied by MS. I checked devices though respective software from CR makers and starting and ending sentinels set to % and ? respective on both. I would appreciate and ideas and thoughts as I hit the wall myself Thank you

• Using jQuery delay() with separate elements

  I want to fake a simple animation on page load by sequentially revealing several pngs, each appearing instantly but with unique, precisely timed delay before the next one. Using the latest version of jQuery (1.4.2 at writing), which provides a delay method. My first (braindead) impulse was: $('#image1').show('fast').delay(800); $('#image2').show('fast').delay(1200); $('#image3').show('fast'); Of course all come up simultaneously. jQuery doc examples refer to a single item being chained, not handling multiple items. OK... try again using nested callbacks from show(): $('#image1').show('fast', function() { $('#image2').show('fast', function() { $('#image3').show('fast', function() { }); }); }); Looks ugly (imagine doing 10, also wonder what processor hit would be) but hey, it works sequentially! Without delay though. So... chain delay() after show() using a callback function from it (not even sure if it supports one): $('#image1').show('fast').delay(800, function() { $('#image2').show('fast').delay(1200, function() { $('#image3').show('fast'); }); }); Hm. Opposite result of what I thought might happen: the callback works, but still no delay. So... should I be using some combination of queue and delay instead of nested callbacks? jQuery doc examples for queue again only use one element for example. Guessing this would involve using a custom queue, but am uncertain how to implement this. Or maybe I'm missing a simple way? (For a simple problem!)

• Using open2300 with Ubuntu

  Hello, I am currently running Ubuntu 8.10 and have been trying to use Open2300 to read data from a Lacrosse WS-2310 weather station and report it to the WUnderground server. The program compiles fine but when I try to run it, it does one of two things: usually it pauses for about 4 minutes, then prints "could not reset" to the screen. But sometimes it just hangs forever. It seems like my computer is unable to communicate with the weather station. I have set the serial port as /dev/ttyS0 in the open2300.conf file and i have also tried /dev/ttyS1, /dev/ttyS2, etc with the same result. As far as I can tell, there are no other settings regarding how Open2300 communicates with the device. Is my serial port locked somehow? It could be something as simple as an incorrect configuration for my serial port or something, but I would have no idea how to check that or change the configuration. • How to make Fluent NHibernate ignore Dictionary properties

  I'm trying to make Fluent NHibernate's automapping ignore a Dictionary property on one of my classes, but Fluent is ignoring me instead. Ignoring other types of properties seems to work fine, but even after following the documentation and adding an override for the Dictionary, I still get the following exception when BuildSessionFactory is called: The type or method has 2 generic parameter(s), but 1 generic argument(s) were provided. A generic argument must be provided for each generic parameter. I've tried overriding by property name: .Override<MyClass>(map => { map.IgnoreProperty(x => x.MyDictionaryProperty); }) and also tried implementing ignores using a custom attribute, both of which result in the same exception from BuildSessionFactory. The only thing so far that makes this exception go away is removing the Dictionary property entirely. My question seems to be identical to this one which was never answered (though I'll expand the scope by stating it doesn't matter whether the dictionary is on an abstract base class; the problem always happens for me regardless of what class the property is on). Any takers this time around?

• update variable based upon results from .NET backgroundworker

  I've got a C# program that talks to an instrument (spectrum analyzer) over a network. I need to be able to change a large number of parameters in the instrument and read them back into my program. I want to use backgroundworker to do the actual talking to the instrument so that UI performance doesn't suffer. The way this works is - 1) send command to the instrument with new parameter value, 2) read parameter back from the instrument so I can see what actually happened (for example, I try to set the center frequency above the max that the instrument will handle and it tells me what it will actually handle), and 3) update a program variable with the actual value received from the instrument. Because there are quite a few parameters to be updated I'd like to use a generic routine. The part I can't seem to get my brain around is updating the variable in my code with what comes back from the instrument via backgroundworker. If I used a separate RunWorkerCompleted event for each parameter I could hardwire the update directly to the variable. I'd like to come up with a way of using a single routine that's capable of updating any of the variables. All I can come up with is passing a reference number (different for each parameter) and using a switch statement in the RunWorkerCompleted handler to direct the result. There has to be a better way.

  Hi, I am quite new to Open Inventor(Coin3D) and have the following problem: I have a SoSelection holding a root node(also SoSeparator). And the root node holds a number of SoSeparator nodes. Each of these SoSeparator nodes holds a SoTransform node and a SoCube node. When I select one cube node I want all other cubes within a certain distance to the selected cube to arrange in a circle arround the selected cube. (Moreover all of the cubes should be on a plane than) An additional information: My cubes are always oriented in the camera direction with (cubeTransform_-rotation.connectFrom(&camera_-orientation) Assuming the selected cube is the center of the circle, how do I translate the other cubes in a circle on a plane(perpendicular to the vector between the selected cube and the camera)? Especially how do I find coordinates on the plain on which the circle should be which have a certain distance from the Axis (from center cube to camera). What I already did is to search for the for all cubes within a certain distance as soon as one cube is selected. As a result I already have the required separators (which are holding the according SoTransforms and SoCubes) in a SoPathList. Now I want to arrange the cubes by modifing the according SoTransform-translation values. Regards Mark

  I have a table references to itself. User table: id, username, managerid and managerid links back to id Now, I want to get all the managers including direct manager, manager of direct manager, so on and so forth... The problem is that I do not want to have a unstop recursive sql. So, I want to check if an id alreay in a list, I will not include it anymore. Here is my sql for that: with all_managers (id, username, managerid, idlist) as ( select u1.id, u1.username, u1.managerid, ' ' from users u1, users u2 where u1.id = u2.managerid and u2.id = 6 UNION ALL select u.id, u.username, u.managerid, idlist + ' ' + u.id from all_managers a, users u where a.managerid = u.id and charindex(cast(u.id as nvarchar(5)), idlist) != 0 ) select id, username from all_managers; The problem is that in this line: select u1.id, u1.username, u1.managerid, ' ' The SQL Server complains with me that I can not put ' ' as the initialized for idlist. nvarchar(40) does not work as well. I do not know how to declare it inside a common table expression like this one. Usually, in db2, I can just put varchar(40) My sample data: ID UserName ManagerID 1 admin 1 2 a 1 3 b 1 4 c 2 What I want to do is that I want to find all managers of c guy. The result should be: admin, a, b. Some of the user can be his manager (like admin) because the ManagerID does not allow NULL and some does not have direct manager. With common table expression, it can lead to an infinite recursive. So, I am also trying to avoid that situation by trying to not include the id twice. For example, in the 1st iteration, we already have id : 1, so, in the 2nd iteration and later on, 1 should never be allowed. I also want to ask if my current approach is good or not and any other solutions? Because if I have a big database with a deep hierarchy, I will have to initialize a big varchar to keep it and it consumes memory, right?
