    Hi, I'm trying to a create an update statement along the following lines: TABLE car: id | owner_id | type | status An owner can have multiple cars. UPDATE car c SET c.type = 1 WHERE c.owner_id IN ($ids) AND c.status = [1 IF IT EXISTS, ELSE 0] $ids is reasonably small (under 50 values). It seems simple but I can't seem to get my head around it because I can't use a SELECT subquery with an UPDATE to the same table. Anyone? Thanks

    We are using bcrypt for passwords and data that never needs to be decrypted. What should do to protect other user information that does. For this example lets say that we didn't want a users real name to be in plain text in case someone was to obtain the db. This is somewhat sensitive data but also needs to be called from time to time and displayed in plain text. Is there a simple way to do this?

  • "Ambiguous column name" error on one particular server

    This simple query throws the "Ambiguous column name TaskID" error on one db-server only. This is ridiculous. We tested this with the same database structure on different servers and different versions of ms sql (2005/2008), and it's only THIS particular client's server that throws the error. I'm actually frustrated. SELECT Tasks.TaskID FROM Tasks INNER JOIN TaskHelpers ON TaskHelpers.TaskID = Tasks.TaskID order by TaskID Yes, I know I can put "Tasks.TaskID" into the order by clause, but for some reasons I can't.

    Hi all, I have got a simple HTMl form with one field as follows: <input type="text" name="data['User']['user_id']" id="data['User']['user_id']" value="1"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("#data['User']['user_id']").mouseover(function(){ alert("hello"); }); }); The code couldn't work, I think it may be the name of the Input text field that caused the problem, but I don't know how to alter it because this is the naming convention in CakePHP.

    Hi all! (Objective C) Just using simple AudioServicesPlaySystemSoundID and its counterparts, but I can't find in the documentation if there is already a way to find the length of an audio file. I know there is AudioServicesGetPropertyInfo, but that seems to return a byte-buffer - do audio files embed their length in themselves and I can just extract it with this? This is fine for the moment but in the near future I will need to send more complicated items, such as objects down the sockets and eventually files. What steps would I take to do this?   • From a Java programming perspective, what difference does multicast make to a networking program?

    My manager has asked me to assess what changes would be required to add multicast support to a socket-based TCP/IP networking program that is part of a trading system. As far as I can tell, from the perspective of a Java program, it doesn't seem to matter too much whether the program is unicast or multicast. Doesn't the Java networking API make all of this transparent? By this I mean, wouldn't the change be a simple one of simply adding additional destinations for the outgoing connections?

  • redirect wont work in Chrome

At the bottom of this function I have this piece of code: window.location="../index.html"; This wont work on Chrome, but does work in Firefox.
