    Possible Duplicate: Is there a free, open-source question and answer (Q&A) application similar to StackExchange? I need a Q&A platform like StackExchange's sites for lawyers and for free legal questions/answers. So, it must be simple, fast, convenient, with an attractive look. Regular forum's platforms don't suit these characteristics. I found, that bbPress (http://bbpress.org/forums/) isn't bad for this purpose. Is there anything else good for my task? I would be very thankful for helping!

I really love software development and I have taught myself how to write HTML + CSS, JavaScript (I use jQuery and AngularJS) and Java (I learnt this in school). I have developed few apps (a desktop app in Java and a mobile app with AngularJS and PhoneGap) I am looking at applying for a part-time programming job to develop myself.   • Best design to create dynamic set of questions(controls ) in silverlight web application?

    I have around 15 templates (this will grow) and each template will have around 10-15 questions. Each question can have answers in different format like text box, list box, dropdown, radio button etc. I need to show one template in a page, at a time based on the input I am getting. What would be the best design approach for this? Put questions data in database and Create dynamic control? Putting in xml and display using xslt? Creating static set of templates? Or any other approach? I don't have too much time to do this. I am going to use Silverlight for this.

    This question already has an answer here: Is there a simple way to stop enemies standing in the same spot? 8 answers i am making a top down game which lots of enemies are chasing one guy. then,enemies would move to one point without any collision,they just overlay each other. so ,is there any simple way to make them feel more real? make them not overlay with each other? ================================= i have tried the solution using boundbox to check collision, but i still very puzzled about what to do with the collision. i have a bad solution.it doesn't work well. my solution in simple: foreach(around_enemy_arr in other) { vector a = normalize(self.positionvector - other.positionvector); self.move_vector = self.move_vector + a; } this can work,but when plenty of enemies come very close to each other,they would shake. i am sooooo confused. please help.

    Alright, I think it's a simple question, but I got difficulties to find some answers around. I already read that XNA wouldn't be in Visual Studio 2012. I recently learned to use XNA, but since I would like to work on games, I'd like to know if there's a way to develop games using C# on Visual Studio 2012, or if I should learn everything again using C++ and Direct3D? C# is a language I like a lot, so if there's no way to do it in C# but something quite easy to use Java for game development, I'd also be interested. Thanks a lot!

I'm trying here to execute "link" .desktop file, where you define in the type section (Type=Link) and (URL=smb://servername/sharefolder)

  • Which C# Book to take?

    I was searching for a book to learn C#, but now i'm kinda stuck. I found many people asking the same question, and many people gave answers, but there are so many books about C# that it is really hard to decide which one to take. Now i reduced my choice on two books, but I just can't decide between them. Namely, there are: Programming C# 4.0 and C# 4.0 In A Nutshell The first thing I want to know, are these good choices? I'm not completely new to programming, but I just didn't find the right language until know, but i think C# is the one I was searching for. I know all the bassic stuff from Delphi/Java/Python so I think i'm not a complete beginner in programming. Is there anyone out there that read both books and can cleary explain whats the difference between them? I haven't found many reviews and sort of, so I just don't know which one to chose. Or is there any book that is better suiting me?

I've been trying to install Java JDK for the past two hours without any success because when I try to do so, Terminal asks for my password, which I don't even remember creating. After years of operation I figured out that all the while what I was doing was a software engineer's job. There are several questions in my mind that I want to ask from you guys. I know that answers will be subjective. As a software engineer, do you really need to be a seasoned programmer? Is it true that software engineers don't code but just make diagrams, functional specs. and othe related documents? I also noticed that there are no SE standards or board exams to pass and its really a dynamic and situational job. So basically I can just proclaim myself as a software engineer based on experience and product?

    The error: OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' cannot be used for distributed queries because the provider is configured to run in single-threaded apartment mode. And the answers I'm seeing is a conflict between 64 bit Sql Server and 32 bit Office.
