  • Collection View Item binding issue

    - by Harry
I have two entities in a Data Model, ENTITY_A, and ENTITY_B, that are related (ENTITY_A with a one-to-many relationship to ENTITY_B named DetailItems). I have set up a NSCollectionView with its appropriate bindings to ENTITY_A, and have placed on a Collection View Item a label. If I bind the label to [Collection View Item] and with a Model Key Path of [representedObject.FIELD_NAME], it works great. If I bind it to a Model Key Path [representedObject.DetailItems.@count], again it works great. If I bind it to a Model Key Path [[email protected]_NAME], I get the following error on the console: addObserver:forKeyPath:options:context:] is not supported. Key path: @sum.FIELD_NAME. Can anyone please help? Thank you, Harry

  • Is it possible to have AVFramework and AudioToolbox framework in one app?

    - by Satyam
I'm trying to write develop audio related application. In that, I'm using AudioToolBox framework for recording the sound. And I'm using AVFramework to play soudns. When app is stared, it will play some mp3 file using AVFramework. And also initializes Audiotoolbox. In simulator, I'm able to record and play. But when I'm testing it on iPhone, I'm getting following error for initializing AudioToolBox. 2009-12-11 22:25:51.599 StoryBook[807:207] AudioRecorder init AudioSessionInitialize failed with error: 1768843636 Can some one tell me whether we can use both AV as well as Audio Toolbox frame works in one application? Why I'm getting that error?

  • Subclassing an NSTextField

    - by Hooligancat
Given all the complex things I seem to cover every day, this appears to be a "what the heck am I doing wrong that seems to simple?" scenario! I would like to subclass an NSTextField to change the background color and text color. For simplicity sake (and to help anyone who hasn't ever subclassed anything before), here is the example of my (simplified) subclass MyNSTextFieldSubclass... Step 1: Create the subclass file: First the header file @interface MyTextFieldSubclass : NSTextField { } @end And the method file @implementation MyTextFieldSubclass -(NSColor *)backgroundColor { return [NSColor redColor]; } -(NSColor *)textColor { return [NSColor yellowColor]; } @end Step 2: Drag an NSTextField to a window in Interface Builder, select the Identity tab in the inspector and select the class MyTextFieldSubclass Step 3: Save the IB file, build and run the application Problem When I run the build, the text field does not reflect the color subclassing. However, I know the subclass is being called because if I add the following method, it gets called on text changes. -(void)textDidChange:(NSNotification *)notification { NSLog(@"My text changed"); } So why does the color change not occur on the text fields? I know that I can set the color in IB, but for anyone who has dealt with a lot of UI elements that all need the same styling, subclassing makes life way, way easier. Ironically, I have never had to subclass an NSTextField before and this one has me stumped. As usual, any and all help very much appreciated. I'm sure it will turn out to be a "Doh!" moment - just cant see the wood for the trees right now (plus I'm exhausted from watching too much World Cup Football early in the morning which never helps).

  • How to disable multiple touches on a ScrollView and UIImage

    - by Rob
    I have a scrollview that I am loading images into that the user can touch and play a sound. However, the program is getting confused when I press one image with one finger and then another one with a different finger. It thinks you are pushing the same button again and therefore plays the sound again (so you have two of the same sounds playing at the same time even though you may have pressed a different sound button). I tried setting exclusiveTouch for each UIImage but that didn't seem to work in this case for some reason. What am I missing or is there a better way to do this? Here is some code: for creating buttons.... - (void) createButtons { CGRect myFrame = [self.outletScrollView bounds]; CGFloat gapX, gapY, x, y; int columns = 3; int myIndex = 0; int viewWidth = myFrame.size.width; int buttonsCount = [g_AppsList count]; float actualRows = (float) buttonsCount / columns; int rows = buttonsCount / columns; int buttonWidth = 100; int buttonHeight = 100; if (actualRows > rows) rows++; //set scrollview content size to hold all the glitter icons library gapX = (viewWidth - columns * buttonWidth) / (columns + 1); gapY = gapX; y = gapY; int contentHeight = (rows * (buttonHeight + gapY)) + gapY; [outletScrollView setContentSize: CGSizeMake(viewWidth, contentHeight)]; UIImage* myImage; NSString* buttonName; //center all buttons to view int i = 1, j = 1; for (i; i <= rows; i++) { //calculate gap between buttons gapX = (viewWidth - (buttonWidth * columns)) / (columns + 1); if (i == rows) { //this is the last row, recalculate gap and pitch gapX = (viewWidth - (buttonWidth * buttonsCount)) / (buttonsCount + 1); columns = buttonsCount; }//end else x = gapX; j = 1; for (j; j <= columns; j++) { //get shape name buttonName = [g_AppsList objectAtIndex: myIndex]; buttonName = [NSString stringWithFormat: @"%@.png", buttonName]; myImage = [UIImage imageNamed: buttonName]; TapDetectingImageView* imageView = [[TapDetectingImageView alloc] initWithImage: myImage]; [imageView setFrame: CGRectMake(x, y, buttonWidth, buttonHeight)]; [imageView setTag: myIndex]; [imageView setContentMode:UIViewContentModeScaleToFill]; [imageView setUserInteractionEnabled: YES]; [imageView setMultipleTouchEnabled: NO]; [imageView setExclusiveTouch: YES]; [imageView setDelegate: self]; //add button to current view [outletScrollView addSubview: imageView]; [imageView release]; x = x + buttonWidth + gapX; //increase button index myIndex++; }//end for j //increase y y = y + buttonHeight + gapY; //decrease buttons count buttonsCount = buttonsCount - columns; }//end for i } and for playing the sounds... - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { //stop playing theAudio.stop; // cancel any pending handleSingleTap messages [NSObject cancelPreviousPerformRequestsWithTarget:self selector:@selector(handleSingleTap) object:nil]; UITouch* touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; NSString* filename = [g_AppsList objectAtIndex: [touch view].tag]; NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource: filename ofType:@"m4a"]; theAudio=[[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:path] error:NULL]; theAudio.delegate = self; [theAudio prepareToPlay]; [theAudio setNumberOfLoops:-1]; [theAudio setVolume: g_Volume]; [theAudio play]; } - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { BOOL allTouchesEnded = ([touches count] == [[event touchesForView:self] count]); if (allTouchesEnded) { //stop playing theAudio.stop; }//end if //stop playing theAudio.stop; }

  • NSNumberFormatter weirdness with NSNumberFormatterPercentStyle

    - by rein
Hi, I need to parse some text in a UITextField and turn it into a percentage. Ideally, I'd like the user to either type something like 12 or 12% into the text field and have that be parsed into a number as a percentage. Here's what's weird. The number formatter seems to not like 12 and seems to divide 12% by 10000 instead of 100: NSNumberFormatter *formatter = [[[NSNumberFormatter alloc] init] autorelease]; [formatter setNumberStyle:NSNumberFormatterPercentStyle]; NSNumber *n1 = [formatter numberFromString:@"12"]; NSNumber *n2 = [formatter numberFromString:@"12%"]; NSLog(@"n1 = %@", n1); // n1 = (null) NSLog(@"n2 = %@", n2); // n2 = 0.0012 How do I get the formatter to return 0.12 as expected? EDIT: it seems to only happen if the formatter fails first. If the formatter does not fail it returns 0.12 as expected. Strange.

  • How we should load the MFMailViewController in cocos2d ?

    - by srikanth rongali
I am writing an app in using cocos2d. This method I have written for the selector goToFirstScreen: . The view is in landscape mode. I need to send an email. So, I need to launch the MFMailComposeViewController. I need it in portrait mode. But, the control is not entering in to viewDidLoad of the mailMe class. The problem is in goToScreen: method. But, I do not get where I am wrong ? -(void)goToFirstScreen:(id)sender { NSLog(@"goToFirstScreen: "); CCScene *Scene = [CCScene node]; CCLayer *Layer = [mailME node]; [Scene addChild:Layer]; [[CCDirector sharedDirector] setAnimationInterval:1.0/60]; [[CCDirector sharedDirector] pushScene: Scene]; } This is my mailMe class to launch mail controller #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import <MessageUI/MessageUI.h> #import <MessageUI/MFMailComposeViewController.h> #import "cocos2d.h" @interface mailME : CCLayer <MFMailComposeViewControllerDelegate> { UIViewController *mailComposer; } -(void)displayComposerSheet; -(void)launchMailAppOnDevice; @end #import "mailME.h" @implementation mailME -(void)viewDidLoad { NSLog(@"Enetrd in to mail"); Class mailClass = (NSClassFromString(@"MFMailComposeViewController")); if (mailClass != nil) { if ([mailClass canSendMail]) { [self displayComposerSheet]; } else { [self launchMailAppOnDevice]; } } else { [self launchMailAppOnDevice]; } } -(void)displayComposerSheet { CCDirector *director = [CCDirector sharedDirector]; [director pause]; [director stopAnimation]; [director.openGLView setUserInteractionEnabled:NO]; mailComposer = [[UIViewController alloc] init]; [mailComposer setView:[[CCDirector sharedDirector]openGLView]]; [mailComposer setModalTransitionStyle:UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical]; MFMailComposeViewController *picker = [[MFMailComposeViewController alloc] init]; picker.mailComposeDelegate = self; [picker setSubject:@"Hello!"]; NSArray *toRecipients = [NSArray arrayWithObject:@"[email protected]"]; [picker setToRecipients:toRecipients]; NSString *emailBody = @"It is not working!"; [picker setMessageBody:emailBody isHTML:YES]; [mailComposer presentModalViewController:picker animated:NO]; [picker release]; } - (void)mailComposeController:(MFMailComposeViewController*)controller didFinishWithResult:(MFMailComposeResult)result error:(NSError*)error { switch (result) { case MFMailComposeResultCancelled: break; case MFMailComposeResultSaved: break; case MFMailComposeResultSent: break; case MFMailComposeResultFailed: break; default: break; } [mailComposer dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:NO]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarOrientation:CCDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft animated:NO]; CCDirector *director = [CCDirector sharedDirector]; [director.openGLView setUserInteractionEnabled:YES]; [director startAnimation]; [director resume]; [mailComposer.view.superview removeFromSuperview]; } -(void)launchMailAppOnDevice { NSString *recipients = @"mailto:[email protected]?&subject=Hello!"; NSString *body = @"&body=It is not working"; NSString *email = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@", recipients, body]; email = [email stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:email]]; } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end

  • How to load a UIView from a tap?

    - by balexandre
Hi, I'm new to iPhone Development and I did some examples and seen code and code and more code but I still can't get the when the user taps here show this view using this animation, and go back after (user taps a back button) I did some Tab Bar examples, Utility examples, etc but when I start a project from scratch the code never does what I want :-/ every time I create a View (xib) I also create the controller (h and m files), as all examples are like this, and I have no idea if I can only create 4 Views and just have one controller :-( when a user taps a UITableCell how can I load a new view using an animation? and how can I go back to the UITableCell the user was? kind'a (in C#) myNewForm f = new myNewForm(); f.show(); ... this.Close(); If someone can share some knowledge or a tutorial or a screencast, I will greatly appreciate Thank you!

  • How to add a scrollable NSTableView programmatically

    - by Jakob Dam Jensen
I'm trying to add a tableview to a view in code instead of using Interface Builder and unfortunately it's causing some problems =( Here's an example of how I'm doing it now. NSScrollView *scrollView = [[NSScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:someRect]; NSTableView *tableView = [[NSTableView alloc] initWithFrame: scrollView.bounds]; resultsTableView.dataSource = self; resultsScrollView.documentView = resultsTableView; [someView addSubview: scrollView]; So basically I'm just putting the tableView inside the scrollView (because that's what IB is doing) and then adding the latter as a subview of the someView. The result is that a tableView appears - but the no data is shown within the tableView. Debugging shows that the dataSource is being asked for how many rows are in the tableView but the method: tableView:objectValueForTableColumn:row: is never being called. I suspect that this is because of my way of creating the tableView. I've tried google but no luck and the "Introduction to Table Views Programming Guide" on macdevcenter wasn't helpful either. What am I missing? Thanks in advance...

  • how can load images from plist in to UITableView ?

    - by srikanth rongali
I have stored the videos and the thumbnail images of the videos in Documents folder. And I have given the path in plist. In plist I took an array and I added directories to the array. And in the dictionary I stored the image path /Users/srikanth/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications/9E6E8B22-C946-4442-9209-75BB0E924434/Documents/image1 for key imagePath. for video /Users/srikanth/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications/9E6E8B22-C946-4442-9209-75BB0E924434/Documents/video1.mp4 for key filePath. I used following code but it is not working. I am trying only for images. I need the images to be loaded in the table in each cell. - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; [cell setAccessoryType:UITableViewCellAccessoryDetailDisclosureButton]; UIImageView *image2 = [[UIImageView alloc]init]; image2.frame = CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 80.0f, 80.0f); image2.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; //image2.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"snook.png"]; image2.tag = tag7; } NSDictionary *dictOfplist = [cells objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; [(UIImageView *)[cell viewWithTag:tag7] setImage:[dictOfplist objectForKey:@"imagePath"]]; return cell; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.title = @"Library"; self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Close" style:UIBarButtonItemStyleBordered target:self action:@selector(close:)]; NSString* plistPath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"details" ofType:@"plist"]; contentArray = [NSArray arrayWithContentsOfFile:plistPath]; cells = [[NSMutableArray alloc]initWithCapacity:[contentArray count]]; for(dCount = 0; dCount < [contentArray count]; dCount++) [cells addObject:[contentArray objectAtIndex:dCount]]; } How can I make this work. Thank you.

  • NSOutlineview - strange behavior after reloading data

    - by matei
I have a NSOutlineView which loads data from a data source. The table is displayed in a panel. The items shown in the table are items which belong to an object (the relation is one-to many between the object and the items). I have a list of objects in a combo box (in fact a NSPopupButton), and when I select another object in the combo box, I want it's items to be shown in the table (the NSOutlineView). I managed to do all this , however when I select another object from the combo box, not all of it's items are displayed. I have put some logging messages in the data source and it seems that there are some items that are being returned from the data source , but are not shown in the table (and are not queried for children). Now the strange part is that when I click the main window (as I said, all that I described here is in a NSPanel loaded on top of the window) , all the data is displayed correctly. It seems as if clicking the main window triggers something in the NSOutlineView that makes it display the missing items, but I can't tell what it is.

  • How can I check whether Exposé is being activated or not?

    - by yangumi
Hi, I'm creating an application that emulates MacBook's multi-touch Trackpad. As you may know, on MacBook's trackpad if you swipe 4 fingers up, it triggers the Show Desktop. if you swipe 4 fingers down, it shows the Exposé. However, if the Show Desktop is being activated and you swipe 4 fingers down, it will come back to the normal mode. The same goes with the Exposé: if the Exposé is being activated and you swipe 4 fingers up, it will also come back to the normal mode. Here is the problem: I use the keyboard shortcut F3 to show the Exposé and F11 to show the Show Desktop. The problem is, when the Show Desktop is being activated, if I press F3, it will go straight to the Exposé. And when the Exposé is being activated, if I press F11 it will go straight to the Show Desktop. But I want it to behave like Trackpad, which I guess its code may look like this - FourFingersDidSwipeUp { if (isExposeBeingActivated() || isShowDesktopBeingActivated()) { pressKey("Esc"); } else { pressKey("F11"); } } But I don't know how to implement the "isExposeBeingActivated()" and "isShowDesktopBeingActivated()" methods. I've tried creating a window and check whether its size has changed (on assumption that if the Expose is being activated, its size should be smaller), but the system always returns the same size. I tried monitoring the background processes during the Expose, but nothing happened. Does anyknow have any suggestions on this? (I'm sorry if my English sounds weird.)

  • NSPredicate case-insensitive matching on to-many relationship

    - by Brian Webster
I am implementing a search field where the user can type in a string to filter the items displayed in a view. Each object being displayed has a keywords to-many relationship, and I would like to be able to filter the objects based on their keywords. Each keyword object has a name property, so I've set up an NSPredicate to do the filtering that looks like this: NSPredicate* predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"keywords.name CONTAINS %@", self.searchString]; This works, but the problem is that the search is case-sensitive, so if the keyword has a capital letter but the user types in all lowercase, no matches are found. I've tried the following modification: NSPredicate* predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"keywords.name CONTAINS[c] %@", self.searchString]; But that doesn't make any difference in the case sensitivity of the matching. Is there a way to do this case-insensitive matching using just a plain predicate? Or will I need to implement some sort of custom accessor on the keyword class, e.g. write a lowercaseName method and match against a lowercased version of the search string instead? Addendum: After further exploration, the workaround of adding a custom accessor works OK for manual use of NSPredicate, but does not work at all when using NSFetchRequest with Core Data, which only works when querying attributes defined in the Core Data model.

  • Drawing RAW buffer to CGBitmapContext

    - by Raj
Hi all, I have a raw image buffer in the RGB format. I need to draw it to CGContext so that I get a new buffer of the format ARGB. I accomplish this in the following way: Create a data provider out of raw buffer using CGDataProviderCreateWithData and then create image out of the data provider with the api: CGImageCreate. Now if I write this image back to the CGBitmapContext using CGContextImageDraw. Instead of creating an intermediate image, is there any way of writing the buffer directly to CGContext so that I can avoid the image creation phase? Thanks

  • Missing AVFoundation.framework

    - by Alex
Hi, AVFoundation.framework is not where the documentation says it should be. I have iPhone SDK 2.2 installed (never had previous sdk versions installed) and I can't find that folder under /System/Library/Frameworks I did find it under /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS2.2.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/ folder but if I add it from that location, then the compiler can't find the header files. I tried copying the entire AVFoundation.framework folder to /System/Library/Framework, but it still can't find the header files. How can I use AVFoundation classes? Thanks, Alex

  • addSubview and autosizing

    - by neoneye
    How does one add views to a window, so that the views are resized to fit within the window frame? The problem I'm making a sheet window containing 2 views, where only one of them is visible at a time, so it's important that the views have the same size as the window. My problem is that either view0 fits correctly and view1 doesn't or the other way around. I can't figure out how to give them the same size as the window. Possible solution I could just make sure that both views have precisely the same size within Interface Builder, then it would work. However I'm looking for a way to do this programmatically. Screenshot of view0 Below you can see the autoresizing problem in the top and the right side, where the view is somehow clipped. Screenshot of view1 This view is resized correctly. Here is my code Can the views be resized before adding them to the window. Or is it better to do as I do now where the views are added one by one while changing the window frame. How do you do it? NSView* view0 = /* a view made with IB */; NSView* view1 = /* another view made with IB */; NSWindow* window = [self window]; NSRect window_frame = [window frame]; NSView* cv = [[[NSView alloc] initWithFrame:window_frame] autorelease]; [window setContentView:cv]; [cv setAutoresizesSubviews:YES]; // add subview so it fits within the contentview frame { NSView* v = view0; [v setHidden:YES]; [v setAutoresizesSubviews:NO]; [cv addSubview:v]; [v setFrameOrigin:NSZeroPoint]; [window setFrame:[v frame] display:NO]; [v setAutoresizesSubviews:YES]; } // add subview so it fits within the contentview frame { NSView* v = view1; [v setHidden:YES]; [v setAutoresizesSubviews:NO]; [cv addSubview:v]; [v setFrameOrigin:NSZeroPoint]; [window setFrame:[v frame] display:NO]; [v setAutoresizesSubviews:YES]; } // restore original window frame [window setFrame:window_frame display:YES]; [view0 setHidden:NO]; [view1 setHidden:YES];

  • Cocos2D, UIScrollView, and initial placement of a scene

    - by diatrevolo
Hello: I am using a UIScrollView to forward touches to Cocos2D as outlined in http://getsetgames.com/2009/08/21/cocos2d-and-uiscrollview/ Everything works great after a few days of working with it, except one thing: when the initial view appears on the screen, the background appears to be scrolled to the center. As soon as I try to scroll around, the image jumps to 0,0, and everything works as normal, except the touches are offset by half the width and height of the background image. Am I overlooking something basic? I can't think of a useful portion of the code that illustrates the issue, as I can't track it down, but would be happy to post code if anyone has any ideas. Thanks in advance, -Roberto

  • How can I sort by a transformable attribute in an NSFetchedResultsController?

    - by Mike Laurence
I'm using NSValueTransformers to encrypt attributes (strings, dates, etc.) in my Core Data model, but I'm pretty sure it's interfering with the sorting in my NSFetchedResultsController. Does anyone know if there's a way to get around this? I suppose it depends on how the sort is performed; if it's always only performed directly on the database, then I'm probably out of luck. If it sorts on the objects themselves, then perhaps there's a way to activate the transformation before the sort occurs. I'm guessing it's directly on the database, though, since the sort would be key in grabbing subsets of the collection, which is the main benefit of NSFetchedResultsController anyway.

  • Why Is Bottom Half of Custom UIActionSheet with UIDatePicker Disabled?

    - by Gorgando
Everything seems to be working great with my UIActionSheet that contains a UIDatePicker except that the bottom half of the DatePicker is disabled. Visually there is a shadow that makes the bottom half of the picker darker than the top half. Everything in the bottom half is disabled and I can't for the life of me figure out how to enable it. I also noticed in my other "normal" UIActionSheets that just contain buttons, the bottom half of the cancel buttons are disabled. This is the code for my custom UIActionSheet: self.datePickerView = [[UIDatePicker alloc] init]; self.datePickerView.datePickerMode = UIDatePickerModeDate; self.actionSheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:@"Choose a Follow-up Date" delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:nil destructiveButtonTitle:nil otherButtonTitles:@"Done", nil]; [self.actionSheet showInView:self.view]; [self.actionSheet addSubview:self.datePickerView]; [self.actionSheet sendSubviewToBack:self.datePickerView]; [self.actionSheet setBounds:CGRectMake(0,0,320, 500)]; CGRect pickerRect = self.datePickerView.bounds; pickerRect.origin.y = -95; self.datePickerView.bounds = pickerRect; I've tried several things including sendSubviewToBack, BringSubviewToFront, etc but I have not had any luck. I appreciate your help!

  • UIDatePicker - Problem Localizing

    - by Smorpheus
Hello, I've created a UIDatePicker in my app and I also have support for several languages. My UIDatePicker is created in Interface Builder, and I have created a seperate localization XIB so I can customize my UIDatePicker. Setting the "Locale" option in IB appears to do nothing. Attempting to change my DatePicker programatically with Locale and NSCalender also do nothing via the following code: NSLocale * locale = [[NSLocale alloc] initWithLocaleIdentifier:@"es_ES"]; datePicker.locale = locale; datePicker.calender = [locale objectForKey:NSLocaleCalender]; This results in an english picker. Here's the really weird thing though. The word for "Today" is translated. As seen in the attached screenshot. (OK I'm not allowed to post images. But imagine a Date & Time picker with "May" in English and "Today" written "Ajourd'hui". Based on what I've read, adding the UIDatePicker programatically doesn't seem to help much.
