    Hi there We eventually got our Mac Mini Server. We now want to set up a small Remote Access VPN using this Mac Mini Server. Firstly we are not sure of the components needed additionally to the server to setup this VPN. We currently have the following: 1 Mac Mini Server 1 Firewall Router (Billion 802.11g ADSL2+ router with VPN capabilities [it says so on the box]) 4Mbps ADSL connection (which should have VPN capability enabled by the service provider, or so we heard) We are not sure what else needs to be included to enable our small VPN. Any advice would be really helpful.

First thing I chose is Graphics card : ATI HD 7850 2GB DDR5 then matching things up with this selected following: Processor: AMD 3.5 GHz AM3 FX 8320 8 Core Piledriver Mobo: MSI 990FXA-GD65 RAM : 8GB DDR3 (4x2) Is this setup looks compatible? If making any of above component inferior will have negligible affect on performance/gaming(like buying 970 chip mobo instead of 990) then please let me know so I can save some money :) ?     Direct Question: I want to enable Perl to send emails. What package(s) should I install to setup a simplistic email server: no need for incoming, only outgoing. I can forward through gmail's SMTP if that's best? Background: I am programmer with a nightly build script written in Perl. I would like to email myself the results of my nightly builds (especially if there's an error). I've read about the perl package Mail::Sendmail briefly, but if something else is more appropriate, please tell me!! I tried the simple aptget install sendmail, but that doesn't seem to work. I really don't understand the specifics, but as I understand, I need to forward the mail through an existing SMTP server -- so I can use my gmail account if need be (that's where I want to send the logs anyway). Any suggestions would be most greatly appreciated.

    Hi Blog Readers,Every now and then I seem to have one of those low life Viagra sellers using my domain for spam emailing people.I have done everything I can think of to try and prevent then from doing this, but they seem to keep doing it.   • Prevent mail flagged as spam when switching mail servers (new SPF records)?

    For our business, we send out a significant amount of newsletter alerts to customers that sign up for it on our website. We used to send this mail directly from our web server via PHP. But because the web server limited us to the number of emails we could send per day, we purchased a VM server at a different host (that doesn't throttle email) and we are going to use that account solely for sending out the emails. Anyways, now that the SPF records are going to be different from what they used to be and the source mail server is different, what steps need to be taken to prevent these emails being flagged as spam? I know in Gmail, it's pretty smart about determining if the person actually sending the email is sending it from the server it expects (for flagging Phishing emails, etc). We don't want that to happen to our emails. Just sending a couple test emails out, Gmail's shows the SPF record saying: Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=neutral (google.com: XXX.XXX.23.176 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of [email protected]) [email protected] So is there anything we need to do with regards to SPF records as we move forward?

  • Quick way to create JSF custom component

    I know of two ways of creating custom JSF components: 1. Native JSF way: creating JSF component class, tag, etc. 2. Facelets way: defining component in a xhtml file and then creating appropriate decrption in facelets taglib. Currently I work on a project in which introducing facelets is unfortunately out of the question. On the other hand, creating custom components the standard JSF way seems like a pain in the ass. Is there maybe a third party library that allows creating custom components in the way similar to facelets but doesn't entail the need of using non-standard renderer?

For table A in database X (test ) and table A in database Y (production) and for a simple filter ( e.g. listname = "XYZ" ) I need to show additions/deletions/updates in some way. which might be side-by-side or just 2 record added table with some fields 2 record deleted table with some fields Considering that this task is very common, I guess, certain components should exist ? Components either return some collections from parameters given for further visualizing or just produce for e.g. html report. 2. I need to push changes for the filter I mentioned in 1 and update table in production database for this filter only ( ie for the particular list approved by content person). Again probably there are certain SQL code generators - components in addition to diffs or standalone.

  • GridView paging inside an UpdatePanel or PlaceHolder components

    Hello, I'm new to ASP.NET. Im developing ASP.NET C# web form which creating GridView components dynamically and filling them using the data received from my webservice. I'm creating these GridView components programmatically in server-side (cs file)- it has to be flexible - 1 GridView and sometimes 10 GridView components. The problem occurs when I'm trying to add pagination - whenever the user clicks the "next" page, the whole page is getting refreshed because of a postBack and I'm loosing all my data and the page returns Blank/Empty. I used PlaceHolder to hold the GridView components, while searching for a solution, I found UpdatePanel as a better alternative - as far as I understand the page can be partially refreshed - which means that only the UpdatePanel has to be refreshed...but it doesn't work. The following code sample is my TEST, the UpdatePanel is the only component initiated in the client side (aspx page), the rest initiated programmatically in CS. how can I solve the issue described above? Why does the whole page is getting refreshed and I'm loosing my data? can you recommend another way? can provide me with any code sample? If I'm not rebuilding the GridView, it doesn't work...     I'm writing a game that has many components. Many of these are dependent upon one another. When creating them, I often get into catch-22 situations like "WorldState's constructor requires a PathPlanner, but PathPlanner's constructor requires WorldState." Originally, this was less of a problem, because references to everything needed were kept around in GameEngine, and GameEngine was passed around to everything. But I didn't like the feel of that, because it felt like we were giving too much access to different components, making it harder to enforce boundaries.     Hello, I have a solution with many components and each component has its own version file (AssemblyInfo.cs). Currently each file as the standard structure: [assembly: AssemblyVersion("1.0.0.0")] [assembly: AssemblyFileVersion("1.0.0.0")] I would like to use the file version as the component version and keep that independent but I would like to have the "Product Version" be the same for all the components. I would like to do that by having a file at the solution level that is used by all the projects to get that version embedded. Any suggestions Thanks Tony

  • Better viewing of postfix mail queue files than postcat?

    So I got a call early this morning about a client needing to see what email they have waiting to be delivered sitting in our secondary mail server. Their link for the main server had (still is) been down for two days and they needed to see their email. So I wrote up a quick perl script to use mailq in combination with postcat to dump each email for their address into separate files, tar'd it up and sent it off. Horrible code, I know, but it was urgent. My solution works OK in that it at least gives a raw view, but I thought tonight it would be nice if I had a solution where I could provide their email attachments and maybe remove some "garbage" header text as well. Most of the important emails seem to have a PDF or similar attached. I've been looking around but the only method of viewing queue files I can see is the postcat command, and I really don't want to write my own parser - so I was wondering if any of you have already done so, or know of a better command to use?   • Emailing a fixed document through Outlook

    I've added functionality to an application that prints out a bunch of information to a FixedDOcument and sends this off to the printer. This works just fine, however the request is that there be an in application function that emails the document using OUtlook and its here that I come unstuck. I'd very much like to just reuse the class that makes the fixed document for printing to generate the text for email, but I'm struggling to do this. I've tried the following... Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application oApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application(); MailItem email = (MailItem)(oApp.CreateItem(OlItemType.olMailItem)); email.Recipients.Add("[email protected]"); email.Subject = "Hello"; email.Body = "TEST"; FixedDocument doc = CreateReport(); //make my fixed document //this doesn't work, and the parameters it takes suggest it never will email.Attachments.Add(doc, OlAttachmentType.olByValue, 1, null); email.Send(); I can't help but think I'm on completely the wrong tack here, but I don't really want to have to write a bunch of new text formatting (since email.Body only takes a string) when I've already got the content formatted how I want it. Note that the content is all textual, so I don't really care if it gets sent as an attachment or as text in the emails body. Ideally if its sent as an attachment it won't be saved anywhere permanently. Any pointers?
