  I am writing a web application that runs within an embedded Jetty instance. • Ivar definitions show 'long' type encoding as 'long long' type encoding

  I've found what I think may be a bug with Ivar and Objective-C runtime. I'm using XCode 3.2.1 and associated libraries, developing a 64 bit app on X86_64 (MacBook Pro). Where I would expect the type encoding for the following "longVal" to be 'l', the Ivar encoding is showing a 'q' (which is a 'long long'). Anyone else seeing this? • Solr error; Anybody know what this means?

  I am installing solr on my VPS (Ubuntu 9.10) via PuTTY. First, I thought about installing Solr with Tomcat, but then after installing tomcat, I changed my mind and went for the Jetty which comes with Solr. Now that I have setup everything on my Server, and try to start the "start.jar" file, I get some errors... • Why can't Perl's DBD::DB2 find dbivport.h during installation?

• Ipad MPMovieplayerController video loads but automatically pauses when played

  Hello I am trying to get the MPMovieplayerController to work. I load a video everything goes wel i even see the first frame but then it automatically pauses, if i press play it pauses again. In the simulator it works perfectly but on the ipad device it gives the problem. I can even seek through the video and i see the frame i seeked to but nothing plays. • How to use Sprockets Rails plugin on Heroku?

  Hi, I just deployed my Rails app to Heroku, but the Javascripts that were using Sprockets plugin don't work. I understood that, because my Heroku app is read-only, Sprockets won't work. • Problems compiling peazip on OSX

  I'm having some problems with compiling Peazip on OSX (10.6). I emailed the Peazip developer and he said he probably couldn't help me too much as the error seems to be OSX specific and he doesn't have access to an OSX machine any more. The compiler I'm using is Lazarus as the source is in Pascal. • Amazon EC2 RSA key stopped authenticating - Permission denied (publickey)

  Authenticating to our Ubuntu EC2 instance worked fine until a little while ago. All of a sudden, the key is being rejected. When we create a new instance with the keypair, we're able to connect to the instance perfectly, so it appears to be an issue with the existing instance. Port 22 is open. Any suggestions on what to look at from a configuration standpoint so we can fix this? Any thoughts on how we can get into the box? Here is the SSH debug output. Is there anything obviously amiss?   I am tryint to tokenize entries from a file. However I am not able to use the line.split("") option because of unequal number of spaces between files. Is there a way i can use info[i].contains(" -")?

• Executable war file that starts jetty without maven

  I'm trying to make an "executable" war file (java -jar myWarFile.war) that will start up a jetty webserver that hosts the webapp contained in the war file I executed. I found a page that described how to make what I'm looking for: http://eclipsesource.com/blogs/2009/10/02/executable-wars-with-jetty/ however, following that advice along with how I think I'm supposed to make an executable jar (war) isn't working. I have an ant task creating a war with a manifest that looks like: Manifest-Version: 1.0 Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.7.1 Created-By: 1.5.0_18-b02 (Sun Microsystems Inc.) That did not work either. Does anyone have any insight as to what I'm doing right/wrong and how I can get this executable war up and running?

• Identifying and Resolving Oracle ITL Deadlock

  I have an Oracle DB package that is routinely causing what I believe is an ITL (Interested Transaction List) deadlock. The relevant portion of a trace file is below. As far as I can tell, the lack of "Rows waited on" plus the "S" in the Waiter waits column likely indicates that this is an ITL deadlock. Also, the table is written to quite often (roughly 8 insert or updates concurrently, as often as 240 times a minute), so and ITL deadlock seems like a strong possibility. I've increased the INITRANS parameter of the table and it's indexes to 100 and increased the PCT_FREE on the table from 10 to 20 (then rebuilt the indexes), but the deadlocks are still occurring. The deadlock seems to happen most often during an update, but that could just be a coincidence, as I've only traced it a couple of times. My questions are two-fold: 1) Is this actually an ITL deadlock? 2) If it is an ITL deadlock, what else can be done to avoid it?

• Usage of putty in command line from Hudson

  Hi, I'm trying to use putty in command line from an hudson job. The command is the following one: putty -ssh -2 -P 22 USERNAME@SERVER_ADDR -pw PASS -m command.txt Where 'command.txt' is a shell script to execute in the server through SSH. If i launch this command from the Window command prompt, it works, the shell script is executed on the server machine. If i launch a build of the hudson job configured with this batch command, it doesn't work. The build is running... and running... and running.. without doing anything, and i have to stop it manually. So my question is: Is it possible to launch an external programm (i.e. putty) from an hudson job ? ps: i tried SSH plugin but... not a really good plugin (pre/post build, fail status of the commands launched not caught by hudson, etc.) Thanks in advance for your help.
