  Hi, when i try to use the shell to build models cake bake M i get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_query() in C:\Program Files\EasyPH P-5.3.2\www\cake\cake\libs\model\datasources\dbo\dbo_mysql.php on line 588 on phpinfo(); mysql extension is enabled, i'm using mysql driver running if(!function_exists('mysql_query')) echo 'error'; else echo 'all fine'; on a separate file prints all fine but on dbo_mysql.php just before line 588 prints error i believe the database configuration is correct as on http://127.0.0.1/cake/ it says Your database configuration file is present. and Cake is able to connect to the database. i'm using the latest stable version of cakephp and easyphp on windows xp pro sp3, paths are setted correctly any idea? thank you

• Linked servers SQLNCLI problem. "No transaction is active"

  Im trying to execute a stored procedure and simply insert its results in a temporary table, and I'm getting the following message: The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "MyServerName" was unable to begin a distributed transaction. OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "MyServerName" returned message "No transaction is active.". My query looks like this: INSERT INTO #TABLE EXEC MyServerName.MyDatabase.dbo.MyStoredProcedure Param1, Param2, Param3 Exact column number, names, the problem is not the result. MSDTC is allowed and started in both computers, Remote procedure calling too. The machines are not in the same domain, but I can execute remote queries from my machine and get the result. I can even execute the stored procedure and see its results, I just can't insert it in another table. Help, please? :)

• Problem restoring a SQL Server backup

  I have a SQL Server 2008, which is part of a domain. Now I make a backup of a database of this server and restore it on a SQL Server, which is not part of a domain. I have an C# application, which uses this database. On the NON-Domain machine I get now exceptions like this: "Cannot execute as the database prinzipal because the principial "dbo" does not exist, this type of principal cannot be impersonatedm or you don not have the permission" I think, the problem is, that the database owner is a domain user and this user doesn't exist on the target machine (backup machine)!? How can I solve this ?

• EF 4.0 - Many to Many relationship - problem with deletes

  My Entity Model is as follows: Person , Store and PersonStores Many-to-many child table to store PeronId,StoreId When I get a person as in the code below, and try to delete all the StoreLocations, it deletes them from PersonStores as mentioned but also deletes it from the Store Table which is undesirable. Also if I have another person who has the same store Id, then it fails saying "The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint \"FK_PersonStores_StoreLocations\". The conflict occurred in database \"EFMapping2\", table \"dbo.PersonStores\", column 'StoreId'.\r\nThe statement has been terminated" as it was trying to delete the StoreId but that StoreId was used for another PeronId and hence exception thrown.   Essentially I have three fields and I am creating a new one which is the three combined making a mailable address; problem being some fields contain null values and adding myString to a null just produces a null in sql. • Using Sqlite3 with CakePHP

  Hello, I'm trying to run Sqlite3 with CakePHP. Yes, i know it's not officially supported, but this post here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1021980/cakephp-sqlite says it's possible. I've downloaded the new driver file "dbo_sqlite3.7.php" and put it in "cake/libs/model/datasources/dbo". Now I'm having trouble getting connected to the db. Things I'm confused on: Where should my database.sqlite file be kept What should my config file look like. Should I be referencing the full filename of the driver? Like 'driver' = 'dbo_sqlite3.7.php'? And can I use relative paths to the db file? Is there a difference in sqlite3 files and sqlite2 files by themselves, or is it just the way that you handle the files that makes the difference? Thank you for your help. I'm new to cake and I'm excited about learning more.

  During a recent restart of our development server the SQL Server started using .NET 4.0 for the SQLCLR. Method's type signature is not Interop compatible. Does anyone know how to solve this or how we can force SQL Server CLR to use an earlier version of the Framework?

  Can someone explain conversation groups in service broker? Currently, I'm using service broker to send messages from one SQL server to another. On the sending server, I'm trying to correlate the messages so they are processed in serial on the receiving side. Based on the documentation, conversation groups seem to be a perfect fit for this, but on the receiving server, the messages get assigned to a different conversation group from the one I specified when sending the message. I've search around the web and saw that this behavior seems to be intended (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqlservicebroker/thread/baf48074-6804-43ab-844a-cb28a6dce02b/), but then I'm confused about the usefulness of the syntax from (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178624.aspx) WAITFOR( GET CONVERSATION GROUP @conversation_group_id FROM [dbo].[ReceiveQueue] ) If the conversation group doesn't come across with the message from the sender and messages sent with the same conversation group id don't have the same conversation group id on the receive side, what's the point of the code above?

  I have a dataview that contains a list of tables. I am reading in a list of values that I then want to apply as a filter to this dataview. The list of values is actually in the form of "table1, table2, table3". So I thought I would be able to use this as a filter on my dataview. SqlOp.CommandText = "select name from dbo.sysobjects where xtype='u'"; SqlOp.ExecuteDataReader(); DataView dv = SqlOp.GetDataAsDataView(); SqlOp.CloseConnection(); Returns a list of all the tables in a dataview. • Dynamic query runs directly but not through variable, what could be the reason?

  Here is my scenario, I'm creating a dynamic query using a select statement which uses functions to generate the query. I am storing it into a variable and running it using exec. i.e. declare @dsql nvarchar(max) set @dsql = '' select @dsql = @dsql + dbo.getDynmicQuery(column1, column2) from Table1 exec(@dsql) Now it produces the many errors in this scenario, like 'Incorrect syntax near ','' and 'Case expressions may only be nested to level 10.' But if i take the text from @dsql and assign it a variable manually like: declare @dsql nvarchar(max) set @dsql = '' set @dsql = N'<Dynamic query text>' exec(@dsql) it runs and generates the result, what could be the reason for that ?? • PHP mssql_query double quotes cannot be used

  Hi all, In java-jdbc, I can easily run the following SQL (NOTE the double quotes around columns and table names) Select cus."customer_id" , cus."organisation_or_person" , cus."organisation_name" , cus."first_name" , cus."last_name" , cus."date_became_customer" , cus."other_customer_details" From "Contact_Management"."dbo"."Customers" cus But the same query in PHP errors out saying invalid syntax "Warning: mssql_query() [function.mssql-query]: message: Incorrect syntax near 'customer_id'. (severity 15) " But If remove all the double quotes, the query works fine and no errors. The query is ported from a java application so I would like to keep the double quotes and the SQL as it is.   I get the following error message The table/view 'TABLE1' does not have a primary key defined and no valid primary key could be inferred. This table/view has been excluded. To use the entity you will need to review your schema, add the correct keys and uncomment it when I try to add a view to an Entity Data Model. For testing, I have created a very simple view and I still get the error. below is the view definition SELECT DISTINCT TOP (100) PERCENT MIN(id) AS Expr4, MIN(EmpNo) AS Expr1, MIN(Name) AS Expr2, MIN(Category) AS Expr3 FROM dbo.MYView1 GROUP BY id does any one know of a simple work around. • Entity Framework mant to many insert

  I've been playing around with Entity Framework v2 and added some code to insert new entity with many to many relationship , lets say this entity is called meeting. I add hours to meeting : meeting.Hours.Add(hour); and I get different errors on different occasions On Update : Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Meetings_Id', table 'Plan.dbo.MeetingHour'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated. On Inset : An item with the same key has already been added. But the tricky party is that if I add this manually trough SQL Server Management Studio , I can update the entity with the same value , clearing it first (meeting.Hour.Clear()) Can't see what could be the problem , maybe entity model isn't mapped correctly ?

  I have created a new Schema in a database called Contexts. Now when I want to write a query, Management Studio doesn't recognize the tables that belong to the new Schema. It says: 'Invalid object name Contexts.ContextLibraries'... Transact-SQL: INSERT INTO [Contexts].[ContextLibraries] (ChannelId, [IsSystem]) VALUES (@ChannelId, 1) When I try the same thing on my local database, it does work... Any ideas? I did try to change the Default schema for the user from dbo to Contexts but this doesn't work. Also checked Contexts in Schemas owned by this user without success. Update: Apparently the sql query does work but the editor gives a fault saying the object is invalid.

Is there a way to generate accessor methods for the subclasses as shown in the inheritance mapping above (Project, Task, etc...) without doing it manually? I added them manually but then a change in the designer overwrites any manual changes. Am i doing this wrong? should I not be making accessors for the sub classes? filtering from ActivityBase seems worse to me. Thanks for any help on this.

  Hi , I have a table as below dbo.UserLogs ------------------------------------- Id | UserId |Date | Name| P1 | Dirty ------------------------------------- There can be several records per userId[even in millions] I have clustered index on Date column and query this table very frequently in time ranges. The column 'Dirty' is non-nullable and can take either 0 or 1 only so I have no indexes on 'Dirty' I have several millions of records in this table and in one particular case in my application i need to query this table to get all UserId that have at least one record that is marked dirty. I tried this query - select distinct(UserId) from UserLogs where Dirty=1 I have 10 million records in total and this takes like 10min to run and i want this to run much faster than this. [i am able to query this table on date column in less than a minute.] Any comments/suggestion are welcome. my env 64bit,sybase15.0.3,Linux

• FakeTable with tSQLt remove triggers

  I have jsut started to use tSQLt and is about to test a trigger. I call the FakeTable procedure and do my test but the trigger is not executed. If don't use FakeTable the trigger is executed. That seems to be really bad and I canät find any info that there is any method to readded them. Then I thought the triggers are removed by FakeTable but I can recreate them after the call and did the following code in my test: DECLARE @createTrigger NVARCHAR(MAX); SELECT @createTrigger = OBJECT_DEFINITION(OBJECT_ID('MoveDataFromAToB')) EXEC tSQLt.FakeTable 'dbo.A'; EXEC(@createTrigger); I got the following error: "There is already an object named 'MoveDataFromAToB' in the database.{MoveDataFromAToB,14} (There was also a ROLLBACK ERROR -- The current transaction cannot be committed and cannot be rolled back to a savepoint.
