  • Organization: Ways to link/group documents with emails?

    I like keeping my stuff organized, but short of printing everything out and keeping it in an actual file cabinet, I've never figured out a good way to link/group document files with related emails. This means that when I'm looking for something, I often have to search in my email program, and then through the documents stored in some filesystem folder. Has anyone out there come up with a neat way to group related stuff like this for searching, archiving, etc?

  • Wireless Bridging between BTVoyager 2500V-8C and Belkin G+ Mimo Or D-link DSL-G604T

    Anyone got any ideas how to set up a wireless network bridge between the routers mentioned above? I have a router connected to the internet in one part of the house (BTVoyager) but the wireless range doesnt reach to the other end of the house :-( I also have two spare wireless routers(Belkin G+ Mimo and D-Link DSL-G604T) but as far as I can tell neither of them support wireless bridging.

    If I created a custom form (including Script) in Outlook 2003, published it to the personal forms library, the only way I know to create a item out of this form is "File - New - Choose Form... - Personal Forms Library - Select my Form - Ok". Is there a faster way? For example, a link from the desktop or from the Outlook favorites folder?

  • Tool for logging NIC link state events.

    Intel NICs have a driver option (in Windows) that will log link state events to the system log, so if the network drops out periodically you can determine that fact. Does anyone know of a simple generic solution that does this, in other words one that is not part of the driver from a particular manufacturer? I know there are plenty of 'big iron' network monitoring tools out there but surely there's something really simple that runs as a service in Windows with minimal setup ? TIA

  • Pasting a download link into google chrome

    When I want to download something in Safari, like http://foo.com/bar.zip, all I have to do is paste that link into the dowloads window. Is there a way to do this in Chrome? I've gotten used to Safari, hitting cmd-alt-L (dowloads window), and then pasting. It's quick, neat, and saves me going to FileSave As... I like to keep my hands on the keyboard, so if there is a quick way to do this without using a mouse, that's my ideal solution.

    I'm writing a user manual to a card game and there is a looot of linked images. Open Office is working so slow because every time I flip to a page with linked images it starts to update them. Is it possible to tell Open Office to NOT update the links until I tell it to do so? I would like it to display the same snapshot it showed the last time I initiated link update.   • Rails AtomFeedBuilder Entry :Url option appears in url tag but not in link tag

    Hello, I'm using the AtomFeedHelper and everything is working fine except for one feed where I need to link each entry to a URL which is not the default polymorphic_url for the record. Per the documentation I've specified an :url option for the entry. This correctly renders a <url> tag in the atom node but the <link rel="alternate" still points to the default polymorphic_url. Looking at the source and the documentation I don't understand why this is happening.   • Slow Performance -- ASP .NET ASPNET_WP.EXE and CSC.EXE Running After Clicking Redirect Link

    I click on a link from one page that does a redirect to another page (Response.Redirect(page.aspx)). The browser churns for about 30 seconds and the page displays. I'm trying to track down why it takes so long to load the page. The page hosts two other custom controls. I have commented out the lines of code for each and both controls, and the page still takes about 30 seconds to load. I've set breakpoints on the Page_Load event for each of the controls as well as page.aspx and it also takes about 30 seconds from clicking the link with the Response.Redirect to the first break point. I loaded up task manager and clicked on the link. I notice aspnet_wp.exe and csc.exe run during this 30 second time frame. I'm wondering if there are some sort of code-behind shinanigans going on while I'm waiting for the page to load. This only occurs the first time I click on the link. Afterwards, it's not as slow. I've googled but there's not a lot of useful information about this. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, ---Dan---

    Hi, So I am using Zend frameworks Gdata extension to parse xml data from google base. http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.gdata.gbase.html Working fine minus one damn important thing I cant seem to parse, the link to the actual page, because there are two elements and its returned as an array. Anyways Ive tried vardumping the array but what comes out didnt help me figure out what was going on any better. So heres the specifics of the issue. echo $entry->title->text."<br />".$entry->id->text."<br />".$entry->content->text."<br />".$entry->author[0]->name."<br />"; (the above code works fine). Now according to the documentation I thought I could get the link href by going $entry-link-text or $entry-link-url (tried both, neither worked). Anyways, Im not sure whether this is zend specific or just a gap in my OOP understanding, but any help would be much appreciated!

    Is there a way to dynamically change the hyperlink associated with an ECB menu in WSS 3.0? For instance, I have a list with 2 fields. One field is hidden and is a link, the other is the title field which has the ECB menu. The title field currently links to the item's view page - but we want it to link to the link-field's url. Can I get the actual item's GUID here? If I can get the item's ID I can send it with the list ID to an application page that will get the right URL from field in the list and forward the user on to the right site.

    Hi! I've some question about this router. Before starting, some configurations, specified by my provider. Wan1 VPN IP - 192.168.172.84 Mask - 255.255.255.0 Gateway - 192.168.172.253 DNS - 195.110.6.7 Wan2 Dynamic IP DHCP - 168.120.1.34 Mask - 255.255.255.0 Router IP 192.168.1.1 Computer IP 192.168.1.7 Routes: route -p add 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 192.168.172.253 route -p add 195.110.6.0 mask 255.255.254.0 192.168.172.253 route -p add 88.135.112.0 mask 255.255.240.0 192.168.172.253 route -p add 178.219.160.0 mask 255.255.240.0 192.168.172.253 For first provider I need to provide a routes. 'Cause router does not support different routes for different WAN interfaces I put them in "Static routes". But when I try to save them I've got an error: Destination IP address can not be set in a same subnet with the WAN or LAN IP address. If I change IP's to local like 192.168.x.x router tell me: Gateway must be set in a same subnet with WAN or LAN IP address. Changing mask on WAN1 interface to 255.255.0.0 doesn't help. Any ideas? PS! Or maybe I'm must email to TP-Link support?

Getting the the 3d meshes for buildings would also be fine since I can compute the height myself using that information.   • Serving only certain files from a directory to users on IIS7

    I'm have a need to show the most up to date version of a certain file in a directory to users who access a folder on my site (lets call this folder logs). I can't just move the file into the folder as another process relies on being able to find and edit this file while it is running. At first I had thought I could just create a folder on my site, give it the correct permissions and then create a symbolic link to the file. However it seems IIS7 does not follow symlinks. Another solution would be to create a phpscript that pulls the correct file and displays it, but that felt like over-engineering the solution. I know that on Apache this would be simple, but I can't figure out how to do it with IIS7. To give an idea of the folder structure I'm working with. The directory looks like this. Root --File I need to serve. --File containing plain text passwords. --Other folders/files. I can't move any of these files. If I just serve the entire directory using Virtual Directories in IIS I'll also be sharing files and folders containing configuration and other sensitive information.

  • Building a python module and linking it against a MacOSX framework

    I'm trying to build a Python extension on MacOSX 10.6 and to link it against several frameworks (i386 only). I made a setup.py file, using distutils and the Extension object. I order to link against my frameworks, my LDFLAGS env var should look like : LDFLAGS = -lc -arch i386 -framework fwk1 -framework fwk2 As I did not find any 'framework' keyword in the Extension module documentation, I used the extra_link_args keyword instead. Extension('test', define_macros = [('MAJOR_VERSION', '1'), ,('MINOR_VERSION', '0')], include_dirs = ['/usr/local/include', 'include/', 'include/vitale'], extra_link_args = ['-arch i386', '-framework fwk1', '-framework fwk2'], sources = "testmodule.cpp", language = 'c++' ) Everything is compiling and linking fine. If I remove the -framework line from the extra_link_args, my linker fails, as expected. Here is the last two lines produced by a python setup.py build : /usr/bin/g++-4.2 -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -isysroot / -L/opt/local/lib -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -bundle -undefined dynamic_lookup build/temp.macosx-10.6-intel-2.6/testmodule.o -o build/lib.macosx-10.6-intel-2.6/test.so -arch i386 -framework sgdosx -framework srtosx -framework ssvosx -framework stsosx Unfortunately, the .so that I just produced is unable to find several symbols provided by this framework. I tried to check the linked framework with otool. None of them is appearing. $ otool -L test.so test.so: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current version 7.9.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 125.0.1) There is the output of otool run on a test binary, made with g++ and ldd using the LDFLAGS described at the top of my post. On this example, the -framework did work. $ otool -L vitaosx vitaosx: /Library/Frameworks/sgdosx.framework/Versions/A/sgdosx (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.0.0) /Library/Frameworks/ssvosx.framework/Versions/A/ssvosx (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.0.0) /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current version 7.9.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 125.0.1) May this issue be linked to the "-undefined dynamic_lookup" flag on the linking step ? You can create projects to share with the world, collaborate with others on their projects, and download open source software. It is great place to find so many open source project available to explore. All the softwares are free and open source. I often go there at intervals to check what is new in SQL Server field as well on other technologies. Yesterday when I visited it, I had nice surprise as it has total makeover and looks very decent as well elegant at the same time. I have noticed that when I talk about Codeplex is user community, not everybody knows about it.   • How do I cancel the link action?

    I though returning false would be enough to cancel the link action, but apparently it isn't. When I click the link in the code below I do get the 'click' message, which is expected.   • CakePHP: email validate action doesn't work when clicking on the email link

    Hi, We've created the email validation part of our site. We built the site using CakePHP BTW. The problem is that it doesn't work when we click on the link in the email. The email is sent as plain text. A weird thing is that when we paste the link on the address bar, it works. Also when clicking on the link using Gmail and desktop email clients, it works as well. Other email providers doesn't work. EDIT: Additional info: Example link for the validation: http://localhost/users/validate/validatecodeblah12c023 When it's working it should login the user and redirect to the user dashboard. It goes to the front page when it's not working (see description above). Additional info 2: I did compare the results using Live HTTP headers and I found out that the only time it doesn't push through (goes to the login page for some reason) is when there's a 'Referrer: h ttp://mail.yahooblahblah...' Gmail for some reason doesn't have a 'Referer' line in it's headers.
