    I have a class Similar to this public class Model { public TimeSpan Time1 {get; set;} public TimeSpan Time2 { get; set; } public TimeSpan Time3 { get; set; } public TimeSpan Time4 { get; set; } } Now Let's Imagine I have to populate the times during runtime and then Figure out the time remaining between Time 1 and Time 2, then when that passes Find the time remaining between Time2 and Time3 and so on. However, I need to take into account what the time is right now. For Example: Now it is 1:00 PM Time1=5:00 AM Time 2 = 12:00 PM Time 3= 4:00 PM Time 4 = 6:00 PM So since the time is 1:00PM, I need to find the difference between Time 2 and Time 3 Now is there a smarter way other than reflection to determine this? Should i add something in my class

    I have the following class public class Person { private IList<Person> _children; public IEnumerable<Person> Children { get; } public void AddChild(Person child) { // Some business logic and adding to the internal list } } What changes would I have to make for NHibenrate to be able to persist the Child collection (apart from making everything virtual, I know that one). Do I have to add a setter to the children property which does something like a _children.Clear(); _children.AddRange(value). Currently the model expresses my intent quite nicely but I'm not sure how much alteration is need for NH to be able to help me out with persistence.

    I have a custom attribute PackerAttrib which takes no data, simply marking a field or property, which will be used to mark a property or field of a class inherited from Panel in order to serialize it later on. How would I take an instance of any object derived from Panel and get a Directory<string s, object o> where s is the name of the field or property and o is the current value of said field or property from the instance.     I want to use a category to make a method on the original class available as a property as well. Class A: @interface ClassA - (NSString*)foo; @end Class A category @interface ClassA (Properties) - (void)someCategoryMethod; @property (nonatomic, readonly) NSString *foo; @end Now when I do this, it seems to work, but it gives me warnings because I am not synthesizing the property in my category implementation. How do I tell the compiler everything is actually just fine since the original class synthesizes the property for me?

  • Maven: properties not being substituted

    I'm using a maven plugin for install4j in my project, located here. That plugin lets you pass variables to install4j using the <compilerVariables> section.     Hi All, I have a NSArray of string id and a NSDictionary of NSDictionary objects. I am currently looping through the string id array to match the id value in the NSDictionary. There are around 200 NSDictionary objects and only 5 or so string ID. My current code is such: for (NSString *Str in aArr) { for (NSDictionary *a in apArr) { if ([a objectForKey:@"id"] == Str) { NSLog(@"Found!"); } } } The performance of the above code is really slow and I was wondering if there is a better way to do this?

    Hi guys, I have a table: Category with some sort of categories category1 category2 category3 I have another table Subcategory which has a fk to Category. So, each category1 can have subcategoryB, subcategoryA, subcategoryZ. Well... i've made two repeaters. The first one is binded to a linq data source which takes the categories from the parent table. The children repeater is binded to that foreign key like: DataSource='<%# Eval("Subcategories_1s") %' So the result is: category1 subcategoryB subcategoryA subcategoryZ category2 etc. Well, the strange question is: how can i order the subcategories alphabetically? If i'd have binded the children repeater to a linq it would be easy. But in this case...?

    You always hear that functional code is inherently easier to parallelize than non-functional code, so I decided to write a function which does the following: Given a input of strings, total up the number of unique characters for each string. So, given the input [ "aaaaa"; "bbb"; "ccccccc"; "abbbc" ], our method will returns a: 6; b: 6; c: 8. Its not as straightforward as it looks since the innerloop adds items to a Map shared between all of the inputs. I'd like the inner loop factored out into its own thread, and I don't want to use any mutable state. How would I re-write this function using an Async workflow?

  • Quickly retrieve the subset of properties used in a huge collection in C#

    I have a huge Collection (which I can cast as an enumerable using OfType<()) of objects. Each of these objects has a Category property, which is drawn from a list somewhere else in the application. This Collection can reach sizes of hundreds of items, but it is possible that only, say, 6/30 of the possible Categories are actually used. What is the fastest method to find these 6 Categories? The size of the huge Collection discourages me from just iterating across the entire thing and returning all unique values, so is there a faster method of accomplishing this? Ideally I'd collect the categories into a List.

    Hi, I have an entity A with fields: aId (the system id) bId I want the first to be generated: @Id @Column(name = "PRODUCT_ID", unique = true, nullable = false, precision = 12, scale = 0) @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE, generator = "PROD_GEN") @BusinessKey public Long getAId() { return this.aId; } I want the bId to be initially exactly as the aId. One approach is to insert the entity, then get the aId generated by the DB (2nd query) and then update the entity, setting the bId to be equal to aId (3rd query). Is there a way to get the bId to get the same generated value as aId? Note that afterwards, I want to be able to update bId from my gui. If the solution is JPA, even better.

I guess that's a problem with the pointers, but isn't what I wrote above supposed to be true?

    Hi, I'm doing a simple widget for WordPress that fetches the most recent tweets from the RSS feed provided by Twitter. This widget parses any link posted on a tweet, it also parses mentions (ie: @username) and trending topics (ie: #nowplaying). For these 3 situations, it creates links pointing to some Twitter feature. For instance: "Hi @UserA, check out the song Foo from FooBar that I'm listening, it's awesome. #nowplaying" And it will parse into this: Hi <a href="http://twitter.com/UserA">@UserA</a>, check out the song Foo from FooBar that I'm listening, it's awesome. <a href="http://twitter.com/#search?q=nowplaying">#nowplaying</a> Now now I need to add a global link to the whole message, like this: <a href="http://twitter.com/UserA/statuses/1234567890"> Hi <a href="http://twitter.com/UserA">@UserA</a>, check out the song Foo from FooBar that I'm listening, it's awesome. <a href="http://twitter.com/#search?q=nowplaying">#nowplaying</a> </a> But this code does not validate and it doesn't work anyways (the browsers don't really seem to know what to do with it). Any suggestions how could I fix this?

Executing <echo> within the Ant block shows the correct value. What am I doing wrong?
