  Hello Is thare any quickstart guide for programmers for writing DSP-accelerated appliations for TMS320C64x? I have a program with custom algorythm (not the fft, or usial filtering) and I want to accelerate it using multi-DSP coprocessor. So, how should I modify source to move computation from main CPU to DSPs? What limitations are there for DSP-running code? I have some experience with CUDA. In CUDA I should mark every function as being host, device, or entry point for device (kernel). There are also functions to start kernels and to upload/download data to/from GPU. There are also some limitations, for device code, described in CUDA Reference manual. I hope, there is an similar interface and a documentation for DSP.

• How to start a major iPhone app update in Xcode

  I have an app in the iPhone app store and have released several minor updates to it. I want to begin work on some major feature additions and reorganization, but don't want to lose the source code of my most recent version in case everything goes horribly wrong. Should I start a new Xcode project from scratch and copy my existing source in? If I do this will I be able to submit the build from this new project as an update or will Apple complain that the build comes from a different Xcode project? I've seen (but not used) Xcode's "Snapshots" and "Source Control" features - are these what I'm looking for? Any help or direction greatly appreciated.

• Start Codeblocks project from external code

  I have C++ code that depends on boost and other libraries, and therefore this code has a makefile that invokes boost. I am now trying to start developing this code in codeblocks in linux, so in order to do that I have two basic questions: (1) How can I import the code into codeblocks as a codeblocks new project? (2) How do I invoke the makefile with codeblocks instead of codeblocks trying to compile the code (which it would fail since codeblocks does not know that it needs to invoke boost). Sorry if it's too basic but I am quite new to C++ and codeblocks. Thanks!

• C# setup project output automatically start with administrative rights

  Hi, i've created an setup project for a .net-application which works fine. The problem is, that the application begins to write log-files after startup and this requires administrative rights on windows vista and windows 7. I know there are some folders which i could use to write into without administrative rights. When i start the application as administrator, everything works fine. I asked myself, if it's possible to change the setup project in visual studio in a way that the installed application automatically owns administrative rights on the target system? • Audio queue start failed

  Hi , i'm developing a project which has both audio streaming and playing audio from file. For audio streaming i'm using AudioStreamer and for playing from file i'm using avaudioplayer. Both streaming and playing works perfectly as long as the app is not interrupted by a phone call or sms. But when a call/sms comes after dismissing the call when i try to restart streaming i'm getting the error "Audio queue start failed" . This happens only when i have used avaudioplayer at least once and after that used streaming. When the avaudioplayer obeject is not created , in this scenario the there is no problem with resuming streaming after dismissing the call. My guess is that some thing is wrong with audioqueue. Help is very much appreciated.......

  I've been asked to quote on how long it would take to deliver a system such as can be found here: http://cgi.tnt.co.uk/ratechecker/enter_details.asp The client basically wants to give quotes for shipping based on a number of variables such as weight, distance etc, and for it to be accessible through their website. I've thought of the Drupal/Ubercart/Shipping combination but this isn't really what it's designed for. A paid for, off-the-shelf system would also be great but I can't seem to find any that do this properly.. What would be a good system to start with here, or alternatively is there a system that already does this?

• problem running system.net.webclient and process.start off a control event

  The following code causes my vs 2008 wpf project to hang, I'm not sure why. Both Part 1 and Part 2 work perfectly fine independently, but when I run them together on an control event (click a button for example) the program hangs. I've also tried shell execute for part 2 - same results. However, this code when run within the form loaded event works fine. Any insights would be truly appreciated. • can't start MySql in Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard

  I've googled this and could'nt find anything new and useful for Apple's new OS SnowLeopard. I wonder if this is my mistake or I do need to do something? this is what I did: Downloaded from mysql site: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.1.html#macosx-dmg I choose : Mac OS X 10.5 (x86_64) I run all the packages and installed all of them. So now I certainly have mysql in /usr/local/mysql/ But when trying to start it from preferences panel, it is always STOPPED. When I try to do (in the terminal): /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql I got : -bash: /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql: Bad CPU type in executable What is wrong here? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

• IoC from start to finish

  I'm quite sure that IoC is the way to go for my application. There are a ton of articles and even questions here on SO that discuss the different containers. I've read several blogs today with partial examples. I am personally leaning towards starting with the CommonServiceLocator and Unity as two way to solve the same problem -- I just need a bunch of assemblies to get data from a database, which I assume is what needs to be injected everywhere. I've yet to find any sites that really take a problem from beginning to end, with concrete code examples. For example, I've yet to find one that discusses an IServiceLocator and how to actually register it (or do whatever is required to make it known). What are your favorite posts / articles / SO questions that can take a noob from start to finish with the implementation?

  Something I see ppl define the variable like this: b2World *_world; b2Body *_body; CCSprite *_ball; instead of b2World *world; b2Body *body; CCSprite *ball; I familiar with the second one, but not the first one. So, I checked the Wikipedia about naming convention: Names beginning with double underscore or an underscore and a capital letter are reserved for implementation (compiler, standard library) and should not be used (e.g. __reserved or _Reserved). • IE won't start session from an iframe?..

  The task was to bypass login form on remote server with a session_id acquired through a call to server's web API. So that user wouldn't have to login twice. Since there's no way to set cookies for different domain. What we came up to was - put a little file on remote server, to which we pass encrypted session_id from hidden iframe and which is supposed to start a proper session for a remote app, which is then loaded in another iframe. This approach works fine in FF/Chrome, but not IE... However if I copy url to self-made remote authorization script from iframe's src attribute to to IE's address bar and load it from there, session get's created as expected. But for some reason it just doesn't want to do the same from an iframe. Does anyone have any clue, why this is happening?

• Start thread with two parameters

  I've got a method that gets called on an event, which presents me with two variables varA, varB (both strings). This method gets called with new information quite frequently, thus I have created a separate method that takes in the two parameters. I want to run this method in a thread, however have struck the issue that Thread.Start will not accept parameters. I've tried a few supposed methods, but have so far had no luck.. I think my best bet is to create a separate class, and handle it there.. However I have a List which I am inserting data into, and hit a dead end when the separate class tried to access that list, since it was in a different class. Can someone help me out here please?

My current career is software testing, but actually iam not satisfied in that job since i dont see any future for it and i dont know its path (to where will I arrive). • Why Switch/Case and not If/Else If?

  This question in mainly pointed at C/C++, but I guess other languages are relevant as well. I can't understand why is switch/case still being used instead of if/else if. It seems to me much like using goto's, and results in the same sort of messy code, while the same results could be acheived with if/else if's in a much more organized manner. Still, I see these blocks around quite often. A common place to find them is near a message-loop (WndProc...), whereas these are among the places when they raise the heaviest havoc: variables are shared along the entire block, even when not propriate (and can't be initialized inside it). Extra attention has to be put on not dropping break's, and so on... Personally, I avoid using them, and I wonder wether I'm missing something? Are they more efficient than if/else's? Are they carried on by tradition?

• Visual Studio ASP.Net MVC undo set as start page action

  I have an web application that I'm working on, it was working fine until my curiosity got the better of me and I right-clicked on a view and chose Set As Start Page option. Now, whenever I run my application it takes me to the Resource Not Found error page. I have the default register route set in my Global config route which was working fine before. I notice that the URL now reads: http://localhost:1234/Views/User/Login.aspx instead of http://localhost:1234/ like it was before. I'm not sure how to undo this action or what was changed, I've looked in my web.config file but I'm not sure what to look for exactly, Help is appreciated.

• Is it possible to have an out-of-process COM server where a separate O/S process is used for each ob

  I have a legacy C++ "solution engine" that I have already wrapped as an in-process COM object for use by client applications that only require a single "solution engine". However I now have a client application that requires multiple "solution engines". Unfortunately the underlying legacy code has enough global data, singletons and threading horrors that given available resources it isn't possible to have multiple instances of it in-process simultaneously. What I am hoping is that some kind soul can tell me of some COM magic where with the flip of a couple of registry settings it is possible to have a separate out-of-process COM server (separate operating system process) for each instance of the COM object requested. Am I in luck?

  Hi, is it possible to create and register routes after Application.Start() is called? let's say have a controller, PersonController. With default routing, URLs could look something like www.site.com/Person/Edit/4, with 'Person' matching the controller. now imagine I have several users, some may prefer we use the term 'Friends'. I would like to use the same controller, and have /Friends/Edit/4 map to the same controller/action/id. Maybe someone else prefers /Comrades/Edit/4. with the naming preferences stored in a database, is there a way that I can dynamically create these routes at some point mid-application, after the user has logged in? thanks!

  I try to pragrammatically run applications such as notepad.exe and Calc.exe with the following codes. I can see the application is activated in Process Exprorer but the application UI does not appear on the screen. I got this info inside the process p - "Process must exit before requested information can be determined" and the exitcode are 1200, 5084, etc. What is wrong? Thanks!   I need to write a process controller module on Linux that handles tasks, which are each made up of multiple executables. The input to the controller is an XML file that contains the path to each executable and list of command line parameters to be passed to each. I need to implement the following functionality: Start each executable as an independent Be able to kill any of the created processes independent of the others In order to do (2), I think I need to capture the pid when I create a process, to issue a system kill command. I tried to get access to pid in Java but saw no easy way to do it. All my other logic (putting info about the tasks in DB, etc) is done in Java so I'd like to stick with that, but if there are solutions you can suggest in C, C++, or Python I'd appreciate those, too.

  Hi, I have written a C# WebService. The problem is that after I publish it to IIS it won't automatically start unless any of its methods is called. This is very frustrating because this WebService has to continuously do some background work immediately after it starts (its constructor executes). If IIS is restarted, the WebService will just sit idly until one of its methods is called. Is there a way to overcome this and force the WebService to execute its constructor immediately after it is published or IIS restarted?

• JDBC ResultSet.getString Before/After Start/End of ResultSet Exception

  I have done a lot of searching about this topic through Google but I have yet to find someone using getString() in the way that I am using it so I have not been able to fix this issue in the normal ways that are suggested. What I am trying to do is to obtain all of the information from the database and then use it to populate a table model within the program. I do so by obtaining the data with getString and place it into a String[] object: try { while (rSet.next()) { String row[] = {rSet.getString("DonorName"),rSet.getString("DonorCharity"),((String)rSet.getString("DonationAmount"))}; model.addRow(row); } } However I am always getting a dialog error message stating those error messages in the title: Exception: Before start of result set Exception: After end of result set The data is still added and everything works correctly but it is just annoying to have to dismiss those message windows. Does anyone have some suggestions?

  I have a string that looks like this: var str = "Hello world, &nbsp;hello &gt;world, hello world!"; ... and I'd like to replace all the hellos with e.g. bye and world with earth, except the words that start with &nbsp or &gt. Those should be ignored. So the result should be: bye earth, &nbsp;hello &gt;world, bye earth! Tried to this with str.replace(/(?!\&nbsp;)hello/gi,'bye')); But it doesn't work.
