  I am writing a C# winform application for an archiving system. The system has a huge database where some tables would have more than 1.5 million records. What i need is an algorithm that indexes the content of these records. Mainly, the files are Microsoft office, PDF and TXT documents. anyone can help? whether with ideas, links, books or codes, I appreciate it :) example: if i search for the word "international" in a certain folder in the database, i get all the files that contain that word ordered by a certain criteria such as relevance, modifying date...etc

• Why doesn't Apache2::SubProcess spawn my subprocess?

• CSS IE6 float right

  How come when I have a div style at display: block; float: right, in IE6 the div still goes under the text, and not in the middle of it just floated to the right. It works in all other browsers, including IE7+. I need to have display block because if i do display inline, then the menu inside the div is all messed up. .content { display: block; } .float { width: 150px; display: block; float: right; } .nothing { display: inline; } the float class is not to the right of nothing class, its under it in IE6, know a fix?

• Wider than expected margins with CGContextDrawPDFPage

  I'm rendering PDF pages on iPhone using the code below. It works, but the margins seem much wider than when I view the same PDF using a Acrobat Reader or the Mac's Preview, and that consequently scales the content down much smaller than it otherwise would be. Is my code actually causing this behavior?   I'm going to design a RESTful API soon, thus I need to describe it in order to enable other people to start implementing clients using it. I've looked around a bit, but unfortunately, I've not found any standardized form of describing web-based RESTful services. What I'am looking for is something like JavaDoc, although it don't have to be generated out of any sort of code. I'm also not talking about something like WADL, I rather want to have some human-readable documentation I can hand out. Due to the nature of RESTful web-based services, it should be quite easy to standardize a documentation. It should just list available ressources, corresponding URIs, allowed methods, content-types and describe the availabe actions. Do you have any suggestions therefore? Thanks in advance & Greets

• How to return model state from child action handler in ASP.NET MVC

  In my blog engine, I have one controller action that displays blog content, and in that view, I call Html.RenderAction(...) to render the "CreateComment" form. When a user posts a comment, the post is handled by the comment controller (not the blog controller). If the comment data is valid, I simply return a Redirect back to the blog page's URL. If the comment data is invalid (e.g. comment body is empty), I want to return the ViewData with the error information back to the blog controller and through the blog view to the CreateComment action/view so I can display which fields are bad. I have this working fine via AJAX when Javascript is enabled, but now I'm working on the case where Javascript might be disabled. If I return a RedirecToAction or Redirect from the comment controller, the model state information is lost. Any ideas?

• Building a list of favorites from Core Data

  I'm building an app with two tabs. The first tab has a main tableview that connects to a detail view of the row. The second tab will display a tableView based on the user adding content to it by tapping a button on the detail view. My question is this. What is the correct design pattern to do this? Do I create a second ManagedObjectContext/ManagedObjectContextID then save that context to a new persistent store or can the MOC be saved to the existing store without affecting the original tableview? I've looked at CoreData Recipes and CoreData Books and neither deal with multiple stores although books does deal with multiple MOC's. Any reference would be great.

But my consoleapp crashs when i call the cgi script. So i did a little debuging and write a text file after some actions i do in my .net program. The result was that my programm crash everytime i'd like to open a access mdb file. It told me that i need the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). But i cant belive this message because my .net consoleapp runs without errors if i start it from my own. So can anybody give me some advise how i can call my .net consol ab through a webscript. I'm happy for every advise So it don't have to be a solution using a cgi script. Regards, Nico

  Hello, I am creating a menu and binding the menu items ate runtime as follows but I am not able to make it work. I am creating the menu as follows: Menu menu = new Menu(); menu.Items.Add(new MenuItem { Command = new PackCommand(), Header = "Pack" }); DockPanel.SetDock(menu, Dock.Top); content.Children.Add(menu); And I am implementing ICommand: public static class PackCommand : ICommand { Boolean CanExecute(object parameter) { return true; } void Execute(object parameter) { Packer packer = new Packer(); packer.Run(); } } I am not sure how to bind the menu item. Why CanExecute? Shouldn't it always? I only want to run packer.Run when the buttom is clicked. I think I should implement ICommand but I am not even sure I should do this? • FBA and audience targeting in sharepoint 2007

  I want to use audience targeting feature for webpart with FBA. I tried to add FBA user directly in sharepoint group or added the user to a asp.net role and then added the role to sharepoint group, but both failed. My observation is that all FBA users can see the webpart content no matter whether they are specified in audience targeting or not. After googling it, I found there are three different conclusion about this, FBA cannot be used with audience targeting FBA can be used with audience targeting FBA can be used with audience targeting if the FBA user is added directly to sharepoint group May I know which is the correct explanation? Where can I find official Microsoft documentation regarding to this problem?

I was thinking on using Cosmos for a base system, and adding the needed namespace libraries to it, but as the usual System.Speech.Recognition namespace depends too much on Windows Speech API, I have to forget about using it. So my question is, is there any (free if possible) voice recognition and/or speech speech synthesizer library for C#, what has the following: support for multi-language speaking extracting text content from speech sample synthesizing speech with selectable (or user-written) speech pattern (voice) A general usage, non-windows dependent library would be the best, and of course, if it was free too.

I am inflating the settings via a xml file so that my onCreate (and complete class methods) looks like this: public class FooActivity extends PreferenceActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.preference); } } The javadoc of PreferenceActivity states, that These preferences will automatically save to SharedPreferences as the user interacts with them. To retrieve an instance of SharedPreferences that the preference hierarchy in this activity will use, call getDefaultSharedPreferences(android.content.Context) with a context in the same package as this activity. But how I get the name of the SharedPreference in another Activity? I can only call getSharedPreferences(name, mode) in the other activity but I need the name of the SharedPreference which was used by the PreferenceActivity. What is the name or how can i retrieve it?

• Custom View with Bindings in a NSTableCellView

  i have an XCode 4 project for mac desktop. It has a tableview in it that uses NSTableCellViews. The TableView is connected to an NSArrayController to provide it's content. This is using bindings for custom labels and the like, which has worked out rather well. I have a custom view that i would like to put in the NSTableCellView, which will use custom drawing based on a NSNumber value from my Table Cell View binding. Since XCode 4, you can no longer have ibplugins, which means i can no longer create custom bindings for interface builder to work with. How can I still get this value to my custom view?

  Hi, I'm trying to add a pre-filled 'add reply' form to a view of nodes. Reply is a content-type (reply) with certain fields that need to be prefilled based on what is in the view. This way a user can see only the selected fields from the node/add/reply. At the moment I'm building the forms manually - copy the form from node/add, do some modifications using php & views customfield, but I would like to be able to just push default values to some fields and hide some others and then make drupal render it with all the javascript glory like date select etc. Can this be done?

  Hi, I want to create a layout in such a way that on top edittext and button should be there in one row. The search text I enter in editext and click on search button. Then I want to display a custom list view where each row contains image and text.(As per the API demos example list14 I have tried). But when I run the application, button and edittext are being added to each row (i.e., Each row contains a image, text, editext, button. Can Any one guide how to resolve this issue. • Deploying Django at Dreamhost

  I'm trying to get the Poll tutorial working at my Dreamhost account (I don't have any prior experience of deploying Django). I downloaded the script I found here (http://gabrielfalcao.com/2008/12/02/hosting-and-deploying-django-apps-on-dreamhost/) at my home directory and executed it. • UITabBar in iPad - Won't go into landscape mode with more than 2 items

  I created a new project and selected the Tab Bar template for iPad. I opened it up in Interface Builder and added 4 more items, bringing the total items to 6. I did a build and run and it opened up fine in the iPad simulator, but it wouldn't go into landscape! I then backtracked in interface builder and found that it would go landscape if there were only 2 items in the tab bar, but not if there were any more. The simulator rotates but all the content (currently just the placeholders put in place by Apple) stays as if it was portrait. Any ideas why?

• Background Image in JTextPane

  How do I set a background image to a JTextPane - some sort of a watermark. I tried this option - creating a child class of JTextPane and use the paint method to draw the image. But then the text is displayed "below" the image than above. Is there any "standard" or "well known" way to do this? (BTW, I tried (something silly?) making the content type "text/html", and setting the image as the background image of a <div> but it did not help.)

• gitosis did not generate projects.list automatically, gitweb can't work.

"403 Forbidden - No projects found" is reported when I access gitweb through "http://localhost/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi" I checked the projects.list file it is empty, is that the reason why gitweb access failed? what would be the correct content? can i add it manually?

• How can I create a hybrid Silverlight and aspx application

  Here is my scenerio.. We have an ASP.Net 2.x web site. We want to migrate it to Silverlight full frame application. However, there is no way we can go away in a corner and redo every web page in SL right off the bat. What I would like to do is build the chrome of the app (main page, dashboard, login, common system/config screens, main menu) in SL and be able to open existing .aspx pages in the main content SL frame. From what I see there is no way to do this. I thought the Webbrowser control in SL4 would be the answer, but apparently that only works if your app is run out of browser. So, what is my best recourse? It seems like I will have to create some type of .aspx page that hosts the .XAP and pass in the page I want it to load? How would you gurus approach this?

• Tree data structure in iphone with coredata

  Hi, I am looking to store a tree structure in CoreData for iphone. Can someone give me some tips on the best way to go about this? Basically I want to have a bunch of folders that people can dive into in a table view, and I want to have leaves of the tree be photos. The thing is, I want to be able to let the user edit these folders on-the-fly and add folders and content (photos) at their discretion. I'm relatively new to CoreData. Any help would be appreciated. • Update {node_counter} table programatically in drupal

  I currently use the statistics module (core) on my Drupal 6 install. This increments a count in the {node_counter} table every time the node is viewed, and this works. My question is - can I programmatically increment this counter as well? I am looking to achieve this when users interact with content created from views (say click a lightbox), so being able to update the table with AJAX would be ideal. I have done a quick search on d.o and there doesn't appear to be any modules that stick out straight away. Does anyone have any experience with this?

• Configure Tomcat to send web pages compatible to IE 7 or 6

  I have got an application that is not compatible to work using IE8 browser. I am looking for a way to to configure Tomcat on which this application run, so the pages could be read by IE8 and treated as if they are IE7 or IE6 By googling so far I found a possible suggestion which say to add to the http response the header: X-UA-Compatible: IE=EmulateIE7 here that tell IE8 to be like IE7. The problem is that this way requires adding a filter that should be added on application level. I'd like to know if any of you is familiar with a more generic way that Tomcat enables to send its http content to be IE7 (or IE6) compatible ?
