  • Cannot access SVN repository from another host within the LAN

    I'm trying to connect to a repository I've set up on our server from another host on the same network, but the connection is failing. checkout command: svn checkout svn://192.168.11.192/ error: Can't connect to host '192.168.11.192' : Connection refused I tried probing port 3690 with telnet, and I can't seem to connect that way either. I thought the port might be blocked, so I added an entry for port 3690 in sysconfig/iptables, but it doesn't seem to have had any effect at all. I'm sure svnserve is running, because I can checkout the repository on server using the same command above. What can I possibly try next?

  • LXC Container Networking

    I just started to experiment with LXC containers. I was able to create a container and start it up but I cannot get dhcp to assign the container an IP address. If I assign a static address the container can ping the host IP but not outside the host IP. The host is CentOS 6.5 and the guest is Ubuntu 14.04LTS. I used the template downloaded by lxc-create -t download -n cn-01 command. If I am trying to get an IP address on the same subnet as the host I don't believe I should need the IP tables rule for masquerading but I added it anyways. Same with IP forwarding.   • Building modules with linux kernel for custom flavor

    I followed the instructions given in the link: http://blog.avirtualhome.com/how-to-compile-a-new-ubuntu-11-04-natty-kernel/ for building a custom kernel and booting it. Everything works fine, except that when building it, I used the option skipmodule=true (as given in this link), so I guess the modules are not built for this kernel. I'm saying this because after I installed the image (using dpkg -i), when I run 'ls -l' in the /lib/modules/2.6.38-11-i5 folder, all the files/folders except the 'kernel' folder have got updated (Btw, I had built it last time and it had worked fine,this is an update on the same kernel source). So is there some option/command that I missed that exports the modules as well? Thanks for your help.

I'm learning JAVA, SQL, and other things, but I have no job experience or formal education (other than a math Ph.D.) I know that certifications only go so far, but I was curious which certifications might be the most valuable for a first IT job? To clarify my question: Oracle certification + Zero Oracle experience = 0% chance of Oracle DBA job. Perhaps, though: [foobar certification] + Zero IT job experience = nonzero chance of entry IT job? No memory leaks, the crashes clearly are triggered in 32 bit mode only just after start inside the AppKit itself like deep inside NSThread sleep's callstack.

    I'm new to XSLT and I'm trying to write some XSLT that will flatten any given XML such that a new line occurs whenever the nesting level changes. My input can be any XML document, with any number of nested levels so the structure isn't known to the XSLT. Due to the tools available to me, my solution has to use XSLT version 1.0.   • Why isn't this javascript with else if working?

    I'm sorry I can't be any more specific - I have no idea where the problem is. I'm a total beginner, and I've added everything I know to add to the coding, but nothing happens when I push the button. I don't know at this point if it's an error in the coding, or a syntax error that makes it not work. Basically I am trying to get this function "Rip It" to go through the list of Dewey decimal numbers, change some of them, and return the new number and a message saying it's been changed. There is also one labeled "no number" that has to return an error (not necessarily an alert box, a message in the same space is okay.) I am a total beginner and not particularly good at this stuff, so please be gentle!   • Recompiling an old fortran 2/4\66 program that was compiled for os\2 need it to run in dos

    I am helping an old scientist with some problems and have 1 program that he found and modified about 20 yrs. ago, and runs fine as a 32 bit os\2 executable but i need it to run under dos! I am not a programmer but a good hardware & software man, so I'am pretty stupid about this problem, but here go's I have downloaded 6 different compilers watcom77,silverfrost ftn95,gfortran,2 versions of g77 and f80.   • PHP-MySQL: Arranging rows from seperate tables together/Expression to determine row origin

    I'm new to PHP and have a two part question. I need to take rows from two separate tables, and arrange them in descending order by their date. The rows do not correspond in order or number and have no relationship with each other. ---EDIT--- They each contain updates on a site, one table holds text, links, dates, titles etc. from a blog. The other has titles, links, specifications, etc. from images. I want to arrange some basic information (title, date, small description) in an updates section on the main page of the site, and for it to be in order of date. Merging them into one table and modifying it to suit both types isn't what I'd like to do here, the blog table is Wordpress' standard wp_posts and I don't feel comfortable adding columns to make it suit the image table too. Additionally, I need a way to form a conditional expression based on which table they came from, so that rows from table 1 get echoed differently than rows from table 2? I want results from table 1 to be echoed differently (with different strings concatenated around them, I mean) for the purpose of styling them differently than those from table two. And vice versa. I know an if...else statement would work here, but I have no idea how can I write the expression that would determine which table the row is from. All and any help is appreciated, thanks.

    I need to create a PHP script that runs around the clock and re-submits a form without actually loading the form, just sending the same request over and over. I used a program called WireShark to record my packets and play them back using a packet player. This took two hours of troubleshooting and configuring. When everything finally worked, it turns out the end result was a dead end. The packets being sent did not affect anything.   • Setting custom UITableViewCells height

    I am using a custum UITableViewCell which has some labels, buttons and imageviews to be displayed. There is one label in the cell whose text is a NSString object and the length of string could be variable. Due to this, I cannot set a constant height to the cell in the UITableViews: heightForCellAtIndex method. The cell's height depends on the labels height which can be determined using the NSStrings sizeWithFont method. I tried using it, but it looks like I'm going wrong somewhere. How can it be fixed?
