• Django: problem with merging querysets after annotation

  Hi I have a manager for "Dialog" looking like this: class AnnotationManager(models.Manager): def get_query_set(self): return super(AnnotationManager, self).get_query_set().annotate( num_votes=Count('vote', distinct=True), num_comments=Count('comment', distinct=True), num_commentators = Count('comment__user', distinct=True), ) Votes and Comments has a ForeignKey to Dialog. Comments has a ForeignKey to User. When I do this: dialogs_queryset = Dialog.public.filter(organization=organization) dialogs_popularity = dialogs_queryset.exclude(num_comments=0) | dialogs_queryset.exclude(num_votes=0) ...dialogs_popularity will never returned the combination, but only the dialogs with more than 0 comments, or if I change the order of the OR, the dialogs with more than 0 votes! To me, the expected behavior would be to get the dialogs with more than 0 votes AND the dialogs with more than 0 comments. What am I missing? Or is there a bug in the annotation behavior here?

• Editing a UIViewController from another class.

  I am trying to programmatically change the user interface of a UIViewController from another NSObject class. The problem is that I am unsure of how to access the UIViewController's view from the NSObject class. So for example, in my NSObject class, I say something like: self.view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480)]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor yellowColor]; but I keep getting errors saying "Request for member "view" in something not a strut or union." Is there something I need to allow my NSObject class to see my UIViewController? Thanks!

• Nhibernate - stuck with detached criteria (asp.net mvc 1 with nhibernate 2) c#

  OK so I can't find a good example of this so I can better understand how to use detached criteria (assuming that's what I want to use in the first place). I have 2 tables. Placement and PlacementSupervisor My PlacementSupervisor table has a FK of PlacementID which relates to Placement.PlacementID - though my nhibernate model class has PlacementSupervisor . Placement (rather than specifically specifying a property of placement ID - not sure if this is important). What I am trying to do is - if values are passed through for the supervisor ID I want to restrict placements with that supervisor id. Secondly I don't understand how to achieve what I'm trying to do so have just been trying various combinations of projections, and property aliases and subquery options..as I don't get how I'm supposed to join to another table/entity when the FK key sits in the second table. Can someone point me in the right direction. It seems like such an easy thing to do from a data perspective that hopefully I'm just missing something obvious!!

  Hello, Can someone help me with this problem: I have a table in a jsp page, with the text in one column being hyperlinks. Whenever anyone of these hyperlinks is clicked the whole table should refresh and repopulate based on the value of the hyperlink clicked. My problem is currently when the hyperlink is clicked the page refreshes with an empty table. I have the following line of HTML code for performing this in my jsp page: <TD><A href="http://localhost:8080/pmweb/gui.jsp" onclick="getResults(param)">hyperlinktext</A></TD>; Below is my getResults function in javascript in the same JSP page: <script type="text/javascript"> var httpRequest; function getResults(param) { var url = "http://localhost:8080/pmweb/api/GetResultsByParam?param=" + param; httpRequest = new XMLHttpRequest(); httpRequest.open("GET", url, true); httpRequest.onreadystatechange = function() {processRequest(); } ; httpRequest.send(null); } I have verified that the getResults function above is working fine itself. When I debugged it I noticed that this getResults function is not entered when the hyperlink is clicked. Anyone know how to get the hyperlink calling the javascript function properly?   In my project I have a class, NewsItem. Instances of NewsItem act like a wrapper. They can be associated with either an ArtWork instance, or an Announcement instance.   Hi all, Data is stored in the database table with the field document type and document id. And displayed in the scrollwindow, scrollwindow is editable. Data displayed like this: In scrollwindow dropdown items are quote, order, invoice etc. And suppose for Quote type document id is QTE100, and for order is ORD100 etc. In this format data is displayed in the scrollwindow. Here my query is at run time when user change the document type say for Quote to Order warning message should display like “This range is not valid”. And since the scrollwindow editable when user select any new document type from dropdown list system should allow to add that new document type and should not display any message. Pls somebody help me how can I achieve this???pls………pls…......pls For this I have written this code in dropdown document change event. Document Type Site_Scroll Document Type_CHG: warning "The range entered isn't valid."; clear window 'Document Type Site_Scroll'; fill window 'Document Type Site_Scroll' table sop_site_line_temp; But whenever I am changing any document from existing one getting the warning message like “This range is not valid” this is expected, but after changing when the window is filled again by temp table focus is setting to document type dropdown list. One more thing whenever I am going to select any new document type from document type I am getting the same warning message which is not expected, system should allow user to select new document type without giving any warning message. Pls….somebody give me some idea or pls modify my code….

I want to display only those rows. how could i do it?

• Swipe left/right to push next/previous details view

  I am working on a ios application, using storyboard. I have a simple table view with rows. Each row has a "key" string to identify it. When the user clicks on a row I push the next view "DetailsViewController" and pass the "key" as a parameter in the prepareForSegue method. The data in the second view will change based on the "key" passed. In the "DetailsViewController" I want to add a swipe gesture, when the user swipes right, I want to push the next details view. It will be as if he clicked on the next row in the table view. So to rephrase, the user has 2 ways of switching between items: he can click the item in the table view and the details view will show, he can then go back and select another item. Or he can click on a row, and in the details view he can swipe left and right to see the previous/next item. i added the uigesture recognizer: UISwipeGestureRecognizer *recognizer; recognizer = [[UISwipeGestureRecognizer alloc] initWithTarget:self action:@selector(handleSwipe:)]; [recognizer setDirection:UISwipeGestureRecognizerDirectionRight]; [[self view] addGestureRecognizer:recognizer]; - (void) handleSwipe:(UISwipeGestureRecognizer *) sender { //I want to go to the next item in the tableview } I hope I was clear.   Hi! I am intending to serialize and deserialize a hashmap whose key is a string. From Josh Bloch's Effective Java, I understand the following. P.222 "For example, consider the case of a harsh table. The physical representation is a sequence of hash buckets containing key-value entries. Which bucket an entry is placed in is a function of the hash code of the key, which is not, in general guaranteed to be the same from JVM implementation to JVM implementation. In fact, it isn't even guranteed to be the same from run to run on the same JVM implementation. Therefore accepting the default serialized form for a hash table would constitute a serious bug. Serializing and deserializing the hash table could yield an object whose invariants were seriously corrupt." My questions are: 1) In general, would overriding the equals and hashcode of the key class of the map resolve this issue and the map can be correctly restored? 2) If my key is a String and the String class is already overriding the hashCode() method, would I still have problem described above. (I am seeing a bug which makes me think this is probably still a problem even though the key is String with overriding hashCode.) 3)Previously, I get around this issue by serializing an array of entries (key, value) and when deserializing I would reconstruct the map. I am wondering if there is a better approach. 4) If the answers to question 1 and 2 are that I still can't be guaranteed. Could someone explain why? If the hashCodes are the same would they go to the same buckets across JVMs? Thanks, Grace

  Hi, I'm trying to write an SQL query that will duplicate records depending on a field in another table. I am running mySQL 5. (I know duplicating records shows that the database structure is bad, but I did not design the database and am not in a position to redo it all - it's a shopp ecommerce database running on wordpress.) Each product with a particular attribute needs a link to the same few images, so the product will need a row per image in a table - the database doesn't actually contain the image, just its filename. (the images are of clipart for a customer to select from) Based on these records... SELECT * FROM `wp_shopp_spec` WHERE name='Can Be Personalised' and content='Yes' I want to do something like this.. For each record that matches that query, copy records 5134 - 5139 from wp_shopp_asset but change the id so it's unique and set the cell in column 'parent' to have the value of 'product' from the table wp_shopp_spec. This will mean 6 new records are created for each record matching the above query, all with the same value in 'parent' but with unique ids and every other column copied from the original (ie. records 5134-5139) Hope that's clear enough - any help greatly appreciated.

  I know that table sources need a data source to hold the data that the tableview will display. Lets' say that I'm going to make my AppController be the data source of my tableview and that I make the connection in interface builder. My question is since my actual data is going to be stored in an array,let's call it myArray, when I set the data source in code should I do this [tableView setDataSource:myArray]; or this [tableView setDataSource:self]; I'm confused about this. setting the data source with the keyword "self" would set it to the AppController if I'm not mistaken.

• Altering an embedded truetype font so it will be useable by Windows GDI

  I am trying to render PDF content to a GDI device context (a 24bit bitmap to be exact). Parsing the PDF stream into PDF objects and rendering the PDF commands from the content dictionary works well, inclduing font rendering. Embedded fonts are decompressed from their FontFile streams and "loaded" using AddFontMemResourceEx. Now some embedded fonts remove some TrueType tables that are needed by GDI, like the NAME table. Because of this, I tried to modify the font by parsing the TrueType subset font into it's tables and modify those tables that have data missing / missing tables are regenerated with as correct information as possible. I use the Microsoft Font Validator tool to see how "correct" the generated font is. I still get a few errors, like for the maxp table the max values are usually too large (it is a subset) or The xAvgCharWidth field does not equal the calculated value of the OS/2 table is not correct but this does not stop other embedded fonts to be useable.The fonts embedded using PDFCreator are the ones that are problematic. Question: - How can I determine what I need to change to the font file in order for GDI to be able to use it? - Are there any other font validation tools that might give me insight into what is still wrong with the fontfile? If needed: I can make an original fontfile and an altered fontfile available for download somewhere.

  In Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and .NET 2.0, I want to convert the current date to a string of this format: "YYYY-MM-DD". For example, December 12th 2009 would become "2009-12-20". How do I do this in SQL. The context of this SQL statement in the table definiton. In other words, this is the default value. So when a new record is created the default value of the current date is stored as a string in the above format. I'm trying: SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD] But SQL server keeps converting that to: ('SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD]') so the result is just: 'SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), GETDATE(), 102) AS [YYYY.MM.DD]' Here's a screen shot of what the Visual Studio server explorer, table, table definition, properties shows: These wrapper bits are being adding automatically and converting it all to literal string: (N' ') Here's the reason I'm trying to use something other than the basic DATETIME I was using previously: This is the error I get when hooking everything to an ASP.NET GridView and try to do an update via the grid view: Server Error in '/' Application.   Hello, I have an application set up where the window contains a tab bar controller and one of the tabs loads a NIB called 'ShowCaseView.xib': this file is owned by a custom ShowcaseViewController class. In the ShowcaseViewcontroller class I have added a UIScrollView object, like so: imageScrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:[[self view] bounds]]; [[self view] addSubview:imageScrollView]; The issue I am having is that this UIScrollView object extends beneath my tab bar controller. So I have had to reduce its insets manually: #define TAB_BAR_HEIGHT 48 . . UIEdgeInsets edgeInsets = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, TAB_BAR_HEIGHT, 0); [imageScrollView setScrollIndicatorInsets:edgeInsets]; So, Is it common to have to manually deduct the tab bar height from a view (whether this be by reducing the size of subviews or the View NIB in inspector)? Is there a way that I can tell a NIB's view loaded from a tab bar to resize itself automatically to NOT sit behind the tab bar? Cheers

  I am following the http://wiki.fluentnhibernate.org/Getting%5Fstarted tutorial to create my first NHibernate project with Fluent NHibernate I have 2 tables 1) Account with fields Id AccountHolderName AccountTypeId 2) AccountType with fields Id AccountTypeName Right now the account types can be Savings or Current So the table AccountTypes stores 2 rows 1 - Savings 2 - Current For AccoutType table I have defined enum public enum AccountType { Savings=1, Current=2 } For Account table I define the entity class public class Account { public virtual int Id {get; private set;} public virtual string AccountHolderName {get; set;} public virtual string AccountType {get; set;} } The fluent nhibernate mappings are: public AgencyMap() { Id(o => o.Id); Map(o => o.AccountHolderName); Map(o => o.AccountType); } When I try to run the solution, it gives an exception - InnerException = {"(XmlDocument)(2,4): XML validation error: The element 'class' in namespace 'urn:nhibernate-mapping-2.2' has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: 'meta, subselect, cache, synchronize, comment, tuplizer, id, composite-id' in namespace 'ur... I guess that is because I have not speciofied any mapping for AccountType. The questions are: How can I use AccountType enum instead of a AccountType class? Maybe I am going on wrong track. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!

• Getting wierd issue with TO_NUMBER function in Oracle

  I have been getting an intermittent issue when executing to_number function in the where clause on a varchar2 column if number of records exceed a certain number n. I used n as there is no exact number of records on which it happens. On one DB it happens after n was 1 million on another when it was 0.1. million. E.g. I have a table with 10 million records say Table Country which has field1 varchar2 containing numberic data and Id If I do a query as an example select * from country where to_number(field1) = 23 and id 1 and id < 100000 This works But if i do the query select * from country where to_number(field1) = 23 and id 1 and id < 100001 It fails saying invalid number Next I try the query select * from country where to_number(field1) = 23 and id 2 and id < 100001 It works again As I only got invalid number it was confusing, but in the log file it said Memory Notification: Library Cache Object loaded into SGA Heap size 3823K exceeds notification threshold (2048K) KGL object name :with sqlplan as ( select c006 object_owner, c007 object_type,c008 object_name from htmldb_collections where COLLECTION_NAME='HTMLDB_QUERY_PLAN' and c007 in ('TABLE','INDEX','MATERIALIZED VIEW','INDEX (UNIQUE)')), ws_schemas as( select schema from wwv_flow_company_schemas where security_group_id = :flow_security_group_id), t as( select s.object_owner table_owner,s.object_name table_name, d.OBJECT_ID from sqlplan s,sys.dba_objects d It seems its related to SGA size, but google did not give me much help on this. Does anyone have any idea about this issue with TO_NUMBER or oracle functions for large data?

• MySQL Ratings From Two Tables

  I am using MySQL and PHP to build a data layer for a flash game. Retrieving lists of levels is pretty easy, but I've hit a roadblock in trying to fetch the level's average rating along with it's pointer information. Here is an example data set: levels Table: level_id | level_name 1 | Some Level 2 | Second Level 3 | Third Level ratings Table: rating_id | level_id | rating_value 1 | 1 | 3 2 | 1 | 4 3 | 1 | 1 4 | 2 | 3 5 | 2 | 4 6 | 2 | 1 7 | 3 | 3 8 | 3 | 4 9 | 3 | 1 I know this requires a join, but I cannot figure out how to get the average rating value based on the level_id when I request a list of levels. This is what I'm trying to do: SELECT levels.level_id, AVG(ratings.level_rating WHERE levels.level_id = ratings.level_id) FROM levels I know my SQL is flawed there, but I can't figure out how to get this concept across. The only thing I can get to work is returning a single average from the entire ratings table, which is not very useful. Ideal Output from the above conceptually valid but syntactically awry query would be: level_id | level_rating 1| 3.34 2| 1.00 3| 4.54 My main issue is I can't figure out how to use the level_id of each response row before the query has been returned. It's like I want to use a placeholder... or an alias... I really don't know and it's very frustrating. The solution I have in place now is an EPIC band-aid and will only cause me problems long term... please help!

• Remove a toolbar when pushing a new view

  In the iPhone maps app there's a toolbar at the bottom of the map view (it contains the Search/Directions segment control and others). When moving from the map view by clicking on a callout, the toolbar slides out with the map view, leaving the next view (a table controller) with no toolbar. I've tried to do the same thing with [self.navigationController setToolbarHidden:YES animated:YES] in the second view controller, but this gives a strange toolbar sliding down animation, while the map view is sliding to the left. Using [self.navigationController setToolbarHidden:YES] in viewDidLoad:animated also causes a bad effect (it makes the toolbar disappear the moment the push animation starts, leaving an ugly white space). I'm assuming the answer to this is to use a nib file, but I'd prefer to do it programatically (if possible). How can I get the toolbar to "stick" to the map view and slide out with it when I push a new view controller? Thanks.
