• How to solve Memory leaks in Lib Xml Parser in objective-C where the list is returned?

    - by Madan Mohan
Hi Guys, I got leaks in Lib Xml Parser while retrieving the data from the net, Here in the below code, I have allocated the list - (void)getCustomersList { // make an operation so we can push it into the queue SEL method = @selector(parseForData); NSInvocationOperation *op = [[NSInvocationOperation alloc] initWithTarget:self selector:method object:nil]; customersTempList = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithCapacity:20];// allocated list [self.retrieverQueue addOperation:op]; [op release]; } // return each recode // in parser .m class one of the condition in endElement where it shows a leak. else if(0 == strncmp((const char *)localname, kCustomerElement, kCustomerElementLength)) { [customersTempList addObject:customer]; printf("\n no of objects in temp list:%d", [customersTempList count]); if ([customersTempList count] == 20) { NSMutableArray* argsList = [customersTempList copy];//////////////////////here it is showing leak. printf("\n Calling reload data with %d new objects", [argsList count]); SEL selector = @selector(parser:addCustomerObject:); NSMethodSignature *sig = [(id)self.delegate methodSignatureForSelector:selector]; if(nil != sig && [self.delegate respondsToSelector:selector]) { NSInvocation *invocation = [NSInvocation invocationWithMethodSignature:sig]; [invocation retainArguments]; [invocation setTarget:self.delegate]; [invocation setSelector:selector]; [invocation setArgument:&self atIndex:2]; [invocation setArgument:&argsList atIndex:3]; [invocation performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(invoke) withObject:NULL waitUntilDone:NO]; } [customersTempList removeAllObjects]; } } // returned the list after all the records are stored in the list else if(0 == strncmp((const char *)localname, kCustomersElement, kCustomersElementLength)) { printf("\n Calling reload data with %d new objects", [customersTempList count]); NSMutableArray* argsList = [customersTempList copy]; printf("\n Calling reload data with %d new objects", [argsList count]); SEL selector = @selector(parser:addCustomerObject:); NSMethodSignature *sig = [(id)self.delegate methodSignatureForSelector:selector]; if(nil != sig && [self.delegate respondsToSelector:selector]) { NSInvocation *invocation = [NSInvocation invocationWithMethodSignature:sig]; [invocation retainArguments]; [invocation setTarget:self.delegate]; [invocation setSelector:selector]; [invocation setArgument:&self atIndex:2]; [invocation setArgument:&argsList atIndex:3]; [invocation performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(invoke) withObject:NULL waitUntilDone:NO]; } [customersTempList removeAllObjects]; } } please help me out of this, Thanks, Madan.

  • KVO on the "windows" value of UIApplication?

    - by Ariel Malka
The following is not working: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] addObserver:self forKeyPath:@"windows" options:(NSKeyValueObservingOptionNew|NSKeyValueObservingOptionOld) context:NULL]; Together with that, on the Observer side: - (void) observeValueForKeyPath:(NSString *)keyPath ofObject:(id)object change:(NSDictionary *)change context:(void *)context { NSLog(@"never reached!"); } Any clues? N.B. My uber-goal is to get a notification when a (system-generated) UIAlertView is shown.

  • Form File Upload with other TextBox Inputs + Creating Custom Form Action attribute

    - by Jonathan Stowell
Hi All, I am attempting to create a form where a user is able to enter your typical form values textboxes etc, but also upload a file as part of the form submission. This is my View code it can be seen that the File upload is identified by the MCF id: <% using (Html.BeginForm("Create", "Problem", FormMethod.Post, new { id = "ProblemForm", enctype = "multipart/form-data" })) {%>
Student Email (*)
<%= Html.TextBox("StudentEmail", Model.Problem.StudentEmail, new { size = "30", maxlength=26 })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("StudentEmail", "*") %>

Communication Type (*)
<%= Html.DropDownList("Type") %> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("Type", "*") %>

Problem Date (*)
<%= Html.TextBox("ProblemDateTime", String.Format("{0:d}", Model.Problem.ProblemDateTime), new { maxlength = 10 })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("ProblemDateTime", "*") %>

Problem Category (* OR Problem Outline)
<%= Html.DropDownList("ProblemCategory", null, "Please Select...")%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("ProblemCategory", "*")%>

Problem Outline (* OR Problem Category)
<%= Html.TextArea("ProblemOutline", Model.Problem.ProblemOutline, 6, 75, new { maxlength = 255 })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("ProblemOutline", "*") %>

Mitigating Circumstance Form
<%= Html.ValidationMessage("MCF", "*") %>

Mitigating Circumstance Level
<%= Html.DropDownList("MCL") %> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("MCL", "*") %>

Date Absent From
<%= Html.TextBox("AbsentFrom", String.Format("{0:d}", Model.Problem.AbsentFrom), new { maxlength = 10 })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("AbsentFrom", "*") %>

Date Absent Until
<%= Html.TextBox("AbsentUntil", String.Format("{0:d}", Model.Problem.AbsentUntil), new { maxlength = 10 })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("AbsentUntil", "*") %>

Assessment Extension
<%= Html.DropDownList("AssessmentID") %> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("AssessmentID", "*") %> <%= Html.TextBox("DateUntil", String.Format("{0:d}", Model.AssessmentExtension.DateUntil), new { maxlength = 16 })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("DateUntil", "*") %>

Assessment Extension Details
<%= Html.TextArea("Details", Model.AssessmentExtension.Details, 6, 75, new { maxlength = 255 })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("Details", "*") %>

Requested Follow Up
<%= Html.TextBox("RequestedFollowUp", String.Format("{0:d}", Model.Problem.RequestedFollowUp), new { maxlength = 16 })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("RequestedFollowUp", "*") %>

Staff
<%= Html.ListBox("StaffEmail", Model.StaffEmail, new { @class = "multiselect" })%> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("StaffEmail", "*")%>

This is my controller code: [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Create(Problem problem, AssessmentExtension assessmentExtension, Staff staffMember, HttpPostedFileBase file, string[] StaffEmail) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { try { Student student = studentRepository.GetStudent(problem.StudentEmail); Staff currentUserStaffMember = staffRepository.GetStaffWindowsLogon(User.Identity.Name); var fileName = Path.Combine(Request.MapPath("~/App_Data"), Path.GetFileName(file.FileName)); file.SaveAs(@"C:\Temp\" + fileName); if (problem.RequestedFollowUp.HasValue) { String meetingName = student.FirstName + " " + student.LastName + " " + "Mitigating Circumstance Meeting"; OutlookAppointment outlookAppointment = new OutlookAppointment(currentUserStaffMember.Email, meetingName, (DateTime)problem.RequestedFollowUp, (DateTime)problem.RequestedFollowUp.Value.AddMinutes(30)); } problemRepository.Add(problem); problemRepository.Save(); if (assessmentExtension.DateUntil != null) { assessmentExtension.ProblemID = problem.ProblemID; assessmentExtensionRepository.Add(assessmentExtension); assessmentExtensionRepository.Save(); } ProblemPrivacy problemPrivacy = new ProblemPrivacy(); problemPrivacy.ProblemID = problem.ProblemID; problemPrivacy.StaffEmail = currentUserStaffMember.Email; problemPrivacyRepository.Add(problemPrivacy); if (StaffEmail != null) { for (int i = 0; i < StaffEmail.Length; i++) { ProblemPrivacy probPrivacy = new ProblemPrivacy(); probPrivacy.ProblemID = problem.ProblemID; probPrivacy.StaffEmail = StaffEmail[i]; problemPrivacyRepository.Add(probPrivacy); } } problemPrivacyRepository.Save(); return RedirectToAction("Details", "Student", new { id = student.Email }); } catch { ModelState.AddRuleViolations(problem.GetRuleViolations()); } } return View(new ProblemFormViewModel(problem, assessmentExtension, staffMember)); } This form was working correctly before I had to switch to using a non-AJAX file upload, this was due to an issue with Flash when enabling Windows Authentication which I need to use. It appears that when I submit the form the file is not sent and I am unsure as to why? I have also been unsuccessful in finding an example online where a file upload is used in conjunction with other input types. Another query I have is that for Create, and Edit operations I have used a PartialView for my forms to make my application have higher code reuse. The form action is normally generated by just using: Html.BeginForm() And this populates the action depending on which Url is being used Edit or Create. However when populating HTML attributes you have to provide a action and controller value to pass HTML attributes. using (Html.BeginForm("Create", "Problem", FormMethod.Post, new { id = "ProblemForm", enctype = "multipart/form-data" })) Is it possible to somehow populate the action and controller value depending on the URL to maintain code reuse? Thinking about it whilst typing this I could set two values in the original controller action request view data and then just populate the value using the viewdata values? Any help on these two issues would be appreciated, I'm new to asp.net mvc :-) Thanks, Jon

  • Retrieve names of running processes

    - by Dave DeLong
Hi everyone, First off, I know that similar questions have been asked, but the answers provided haven't been very helpful so far (they all recommend one of the following options). I have a user application that needs to determine if a particular process is running. Here's what I know about the process: The name The user (root) It should already be running, since it's a LaunchDaemon, which means Its parent process should be launchd (pid 1) I've tried several ways to get this, but none have worked so far. Here's what I've tried: Running ps and parsing the output. This works, but it's slow (fork/exec is expensive), and I'd like this to be as fast as possible. Using the GetBSDProcessList function listed here. This also works, but the way in which they say to retrieve the process name (accessing kp_proc.p_comm from each kinfo_proc structure) is flawed. The resulting char* only contains the first 16 characters of the process name, which can be seen in the definition of the kp_proc structure: #define MAXCOMLEN 16 //defined in param.h struct extern_proc { //defined in proc.h ...snip... char p_comm[MAXCOMLEN+1]; ...snip... }; Using libProc.h to retrieve process information: pid_t pids[1024]; int numberOfProcesses = proc_listpids(PROC_ALL_PIDS, 0, NULL, 0); proc_listpids(PROC_ALL_PIDS, 0, pids, sizeof(pids)); for (int i = 0; i < numberOfProcesses; ++i) { if (pids[i] == 0) { continue; } char name[1024]; proc_name(pids[i], name, sizeof(name)); printf("Found process: %s\n", name); } This works, except it has the same flaw as GetBSDProcessList. Only the first portion of the process name is returned. Using the ProcessManager function in Carbon: ProcessSerialNumber psn; psn.lowLongOfPSN = kNoProcess; psn.highLongOfPSN = 0; while (GetNextProcess(&psn) == noErr) { CFStringRef procName = NULL; if (CopyProcessName(&psn, &procName) == noErr) { NSLog(@"Found process: %@", (NSString *)procName); } CFRelease(procName); } This does not work. It only returns process that are registered with the WindowServer (or something like that). In other words, it only returns apps with UIs, and only for the current user. I can't use -[NSWorkspace launchedApplications], since this must be 10.5-compatible. In addition, this only returns information about applications that appear in the Dock for the current user. I know that it's possible to retrieve the name of running processes (since ps can do it), but the question is "Can I do it without forking and exec'ing ps?". Any suggestions?

  • IgnoreArguments including an Action<T>

    - by James L
I'm probably missing something obvious here, so apologies in advance! Using Rhino Mocks, how do I set an expectation that a method taking an Action will be called, but I want to use IgnoreArguments. Obviously I can't specify null as that isn't an Action, and I dont want any meaningless code in the test. As I said, it's probably obvious by the syntax is eluding me at the moment!

  • How to read XML parent node tag value

    - by kaibuki
HI Guys, I have a java code to read XML nodes, I want to add in the addition and want to read the parent node value also. my XML file sample is below: <breakfast_menu><food id=1>
<price> $5.95 </price>
two of our famous Belgian Waffles with plenty of real maple syrup
<calories> 650 </calories></food><food id=2>
<price>$7.95</price>
light Belgian waffles covered with strawberries and whipped cream
<calories>900</calories></food></breakfast_menu> and my code for parsing xml is : public static String getProductItem(String pid, String item) { try { url = new URL(""); urlConnection = url.openConnection(); } catch (MalformedURLException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { } try { dBuilder = dbFactory.newDocumentBuilder(); } catch (ParserConfigurationException e) { } try { doc = dBuilder.parse(urlConnection.getInputStream()); } catch (SAXException e) { } catch (IOException e) { } doc.getDocumentElement().normalize(); NodeList nList = doc.getElementsByTagName("food"); for (int temp = 0; temp < nList.getLength(); temp++) { Node nNode = nList.item(temp); if (nNode.getNodeType() == Node.ELEMENT_NODE) { Element eElement = (Element) nNode; data = getTagValue(item, eElement); } } doc = null; dBuilder = null; return data; } private static String getTagValue(String sTag, Element eElement) { NodeList nlList = eElement.getElementsByTagName(sTag).item(0) .getChildNodes(); Node nValue = (Node) nlList.item(0); return nValue.getNodeValue(); } What I want to do is to read the "id" value of food, so if if I am searching for a food, it only checks those food nodes, whose id matched the food node id. thanks in advance. cheers.. kai

  • Using c# System.DateTime like c++ time_t

In C++ I am able to get the current time when my application starts I can use time_t appStartTime = time(null); then to find the difference in seconds from when it started I can just do the same thing, then find the difference. It looks like I should be using "System.DateTime" in C# net, but the MSDN is confusing in its explanation. How can I use System.DateTime to find the difference in time (in seconds) between when my application starts, and the current time?

  • Pass variables to current tab via chrome extension

My extension has a button, and when clicked, is executing this code: chrome.tabs.getSelected(null, function(tab) { chrome.tabs.executeScript(tab.id, { file: 'tabscript.js' }); }); This works fine, but I see no way to pass a variable to tabscript.js so it can be used on the opened tab.

I have a method which compares two objects and returns a list of all the property names which are different. public static IList<string> GetDifferingProperties(object source, object) { var sourceType = source.GetType(); var sourceProperties = sourceType.GetProperties(); var targetType = target.GetType(); var targetProperties = targetType.GetProperties(); var properties = (from s in sourceProperties from t in targetProperties where s.Name == t.Name && s.PropertyType == t.PropertyType && s.GetValue(source, null) != t.GetValue(target, null) select s.Name).ToList(); return properties; } For example if I have two classes as follows: public class Address { public string AddressLine1 { get; set; } public string AddressLine2 { get; set; } public string City { get; set; } public string State { get; set; } public string Zip { get; set; } } public class Employee { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string MiddleName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } public Address EmployeeAddress { get; set; } } I am trying to compare the following two employee instances: var emp1Address = new Address(); emp1Address.AddressLine1 = "Microsoft Corporation"; emp1Address.AddressLine2 = "One Microsoft Way"; emp1Address.City = "Redmond"; emp1Address.State = "WA"; emp1Address.Zip = "98052-6399"; var emp1 = new Employee(); emp1.FirstName = "Bill"; emp1.LastName = "Gates"; emp1.EmployeeAddress = emp1Address; var emp2Address = new Address(); emp2Address.AddressLine1 = "Gates Foundation"; emp2Address.AddressLine2 = "One Microsoft Way"; emp2Address.City = "Redmond"; emp2Address.State = "WA"; emp2Address.Zip = "98052-6399"; var emp2 = new Employee(); emp2.FirstName = "Melinda"; emp2.LastName = "Gates"; emp2.EmployeeAddress = emp2Address; So when I pass these two employee objects to my GetDifferingProperties method currently it returns FirstName and EmployeeAddress, but it does not tell me which exact property (which in this case is Address1) in the EmployeeAddress has changed. How can I tweak this method to get something like EmployeeAddress.Address1?

  • Auto resize silverlight 3 appilcations

    - by bplus
I've been trying to get a silverlight 3 application to automatically resize when rows are added to datagrids. I've tried this example but I just get a System.ExecutionEngineException with a null inner exeception. I think this is aimed at silverlight 2 only. Can anyone tell me how to do this in silverlight 3? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

  • vsts load testing wcf app

    - by ashish.s
I have a simple test written like this public class Test { [ThreadStatic] private static ServiceClient client; [TestMethod] public void TestCase1() { If( client == null) { .... //instantiate client } client.CallMyServiceMethod() } [TestMethod] public void TestCase2() { using(var newClient = new ServiceClient()) { newClient.CallMyServiceMethod() } } The percentage of new users is set to 100 % for the test, and the user load is constant load of 1. But the response time for TestCase1 is about 3 times better than TestCase2. Can someone see what i am missing here ? many thanks
