  • Vim: How to join multiples lines based on a pattern?

    - by ryz
    I want to join multiple lines in a file based on a pattern that both lines share. This is my example: {101}{}{Apples} {102}{}{Eggs} {103}{}{Beans} {104}... ... {1101}{}{This is a fruit.} {1102}{}{These things are oval.} {1103}{}{You have to roast them.} {1104}... ... I want to join the lines {101}{}{Apples} and {1101}{}{This is a fruit.} to one line {101}{}{Apples}{1101}{}{This is a fruit.} for further processing. Same goes for the other lines. As you can see, both lines share the number 101, but I have no idea how to pull this off. Any Ideas? /EDIT: I found a "workaround": First, delete all preceding "{1" characters from group two in VISUAL BLOCK mode with C-V (or similar shortcut), then sort all lines by number with :%sort n, then join every second line with :let @q = "Jj" followed by 500@q. This works, but leaves me with {101}{}{Apples} 101}{}{This is a fruit.}. I would then need to add the missing characters "{1" in each line, not quite what I want. Any help appreciated.

  • Shrink Windows OS partition with unmovable files

    - by Tim
    I am trying to shink Windows 7 OS partition C: but cannot shrink as much as I plan due to unmovable files. I have tried Windows own defrag tool before but it does not move files that are unmovable. Here are some ideas I have learned from previous posts, and I hope at least one of them will work and wish to know the detail how to do: Inspired by this post, which suggests backup C:, then delete C: , create a smaller partition, and then copy the backup to the smaller partition. I was wondering if anyone here can confirm that Windows 7 will still work in this way? What reliable tools can be used for backuping the system, and deleting and creating partition, and then copying back the backup in this method? I am actually trying another way suggested in this post. I have identified what unmovable file currently stop further shrinking: \ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\Projects\SystemIndex\Indexer\CiFiles\00010015.wid::$DATA If I understand correctly, the file belongs to Windows Search. Can I set up somewhere in Windows system settings to temperately eliminate the file and similar ones (because there are many similar files under the same directory which I guess will also stand in the way of shrinking and unmovable by defrag)? Any other idea that might work will also be appreciated. Thanks and regards!

  • CNAME vs A records

    - by deb
    I built a small rails app that allow users to make a simple site. It uses subdomain accounts ex: deb.myapp.com Whenever an user wanted to have a domain name associated with their site, they would change their NS records to point to slicehost where the application is hosted and I would manage the DNS records myself. However, as more people are using the application this is not an option for me anymore. I prefer users to keep their nameservers at goddady, register.com, etc, so they can log in and manage their own MX records or whatever else they need to change. My question is, should I have them change the A records to point to my server's ip, or should I have them create a CNAME record? Do they need to delete the default A records to allow the CNAME record to work? Will the A record take precedence and overrule the CNAME record? Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is a very basic question. I've read other posts and I can't find a definite answer.

  • How can I change the file name of the Program Files (x86) folder?

    - by Madrauk
    Let me stop you before the "you shouldn't do that" and "you will corrupt your file paths". I know what I'm doing, but I'll give you the story to convince you. Basically, my hard drive is failing to the point where programs installed on it are not responding consistently. So, in preparation for my replacement, I'm moving as many files as possible to my secondary because the new drive will be smaller (it's an emergency I can't buy a fancy expensive new drive) and so I can actually use my computer until the new drive comes in. The basic idea behind what I'm doing is I've copied the contents of the Program Files x86 folder to another spot on my other drive, and I want to replace the original folder in the C drive with a symbolic link that points to the other drive, so the programs can run from that drive and be fine but it will save space on my C drive and simplify the moving process when the new one comes in. To do that, I need to rename the program files folder, make the symbolic link, hopefully delete the program files folder, then restart my computer so all the programs are running properly and I can confirm it works. Now that I've told you why, can anyone help me out?

  • Monitor programs accessing my keyboard?

    - by Anti Earth
    As of a few days ago, my computer is behaving 'erratically'. When I am typing, my pointer will randomly move to another place in the text and start typing a semi-random string of characters. ("gvyfn" is common; It has typed this about 8 times whilst I composed all the text above) It often highlights part of or all the text and overwrites it. It sometimes goes into loops of pressing Control-alt-delete down, bringing up Windows 7 menu thing. It sometimes even messes with mouseclicks; they have unexpected results, like requesting admin priveledges from applications, instead of switching to their window. I believe this is because it is holding a alt-function key down. This behaviour happens periodically, in waves. It might subside for an hour, then continue to haunt me. I believe it to be a virus or malicious program. My anti-virus (Symantec) and multiply MS rootkit removers could not find anything suspicious. I've noticed that sometimes it re-maps keys, and types gibberish when I press certain keys (though no pattern is evident). I believe a malicious program has installed a keyhook on my computer. I'm wondering... - Is there a way to let me view which programs are emulating keystrokes? - Is there a way to view what keyboard hooks are installed? (I'm also at liberty to try any other techniques to remove this blasted thing. It is easily the most fustrating computer problem I've encountered). Thanks!

  • Using iptables to make a VPN router

    - by lost_in_the_sauce
    I am attempting to make a VPN connection to a third party VPN site, then forward traffic from my internal computers (ssh and ping for now) out to the VPN site using IPTables. 3rd Party <- (tun0/eth0)Linux VPN Box(eth1) <- Windows7TestBox I am running on CentOS 6.3 Linux and have two network connections eth0-public eth1-private. I am running vpnc-0.5.3-4 which is currently connecting to my destination. When I connect I am able to ping the destination IPAddresses but that is as far as I can get. ping -I tun0 10.1.33.26 success ping -I eth0 10.1.33.26 fail ping -I eth1 10.1.33.26 fail I have my private network Windows 7 test box set up to have the eth1 (private) network of my VPN Server as its gateway and can ping him fine. I need IPTables to send the Windows 7 traffic out the VPN tunnel. I have tried for a few days many different IPTables configurations from this site and others, either the other examples are too simple or overly complicated. The only thing this server is doing is connecting to the VPN and forwarding all traffic. So we can "flush" everything and start from scratch here. It is a blank slate. #!/bin/bash echo "Define variables" ipt="/sbin/iptables" echo "Zero out all counters" $ipt -Z $ipt -t nat -Z $ipt -t mangle -Z echo "Flush all active rules, delete all chains" $ipt -F $ipt -X $ipt -t nat -F $ipt -t nat -X $ipt -t mangle -F $ipt -t mangle -X $ipt -P INPUT ACCEPT $ipt -P FORWARD ACCEPT $ipt -P OUTPUT ACCEPT $ipt -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o tun0 -j MASQUERADE $ipt -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT $ipt -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o eth1 -j ACCEPT $ipt -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o tun0 -j ACCEPT $ipt -A FORWARD -i tun0 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT Again I have done many variations of the above and many other rules from other posts but haven't been able to move forward. It seems like such a simple task, and yet....

  • How to format my external HDD back to as "removable storage"?

    - by user990106
    Recently I formated my Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex external HDD in Mac OS X using GUID partition table since I wanted to install another Mac OS X onto that external HDD. However I changed my mind after my external HDD being formatted. Now I want to format my external HDD back to NTFS so that I can use it with my Windows 7. However, after I connected my external HDD via USB it didn't show up in my "computer" so I used "Disk Management" to check what's wrong with it. In the "Disk Management" I saw that there was one partition of my external HDD called "EFI partition" and I found that I could not delete this partition in the "Disk Management". So I tried to use "diskpart" in cmd and select the external HDD and commanded "clean". Then the EFI partition was gone and I created new volumn on that external HDD. However, after the volumn being created my external HDD did show up in my "computer" but it is in the "Hard Disk Drive" not in the "Devices with Removable Storage" as it used to be. I'm wondering if I can do anything to it to make it recognized as a "Devices with Removable Storage"?

  • Global Email Forwarding with EXIM?

    - by Dexirian
    Been trying to find a solution to this for a while without success so here i go : I was given the task to build a High-Availability Load-Balanced Network Cluster for our 2 linux servers. I did some workaround and managed to get a DNS + SQL + Web Folders + Mails synchronisation going between both. Now i would like my server 2 to only do mailing and server 1 to only do web hosting. I transfered all the accounts for 1 to 2 using the WHM built-in account transfert feature. I created 2 different rsync jobs that sync, update, and delete the files for mail and websites. Now i was able to successfully transfer 1 mail accounts from 1 to 2, and the server 2 works flawlessly. All i had to do was change the MX entries to point to the new server and bingo. Now my problem is, some clients have their mail softwares configured so that they point to oldserver.domain.com. I cant make the (A) entry of oldserver.domain.com point to the new server for obvious reasons. I thought of using .foward files and add them to the home directories of the concerned users but that would be very difficult. So my question is : Is there a way to configure exim so that it will only foward mails to the new server? I need to change all the users so they use their mail on server 2 without them doing anything. Thanks! EDIT : TO CLARIFY MY PROBLEM Some clients have their mail point to oldserver.xyz instead of mail.olderserver.xyz I want to know if i can do something to prevent modifying the clients configuration I would also like to know is there is a way to find out what clients aren't properly configured

  • Escaping %’s in file-/folder-names at the command-line

    - by Synetech
    Does anybody of a way to access files and directories that have a % in their name (which is valid) from the command-line? Specifically, if there are two %’s and the text between them happens to correspond to an environment variable. For example, if there is a file called C:\blah\%temp%.txt or a folder called C:\Program Files\%temp%\, none of the following will work because the variable gets expanded: > dir "c:\blah\%temp%.txt" > dir "c:\blah\^%temp^%.txt" > dir "c:\blah\%%temp%%.txt" > dir "c:\blah\\%temp\%.txt" > dir "c:\program files\%temp%" > dir "c:\program files\^%temp^%" > dir "c:\program files\%%temp%%" > dir "c:\program files\\%temp\%" Using wildcards will work, but does not uniquely select the file/folder and may include others: > dir "c:\blah\?temp?.txt"        (also shows ztempz.temp, 1tempa.txt, etc.) > dir "c:\program files\?temp?"   (likewise) (This is frustrating because every now and then—usually when Explorer is restarted for whatever reason—the environment variables stop expanding and some places where they are used end up creating files or directories with the environment variable in it. For example, because I configured Chromium to store its cache in a subdirectory of %temp%, if the variable expands, it is fine, but when it doesn’t, Chromium creates a directory called %temp% under its own directory and stores the cache—which can get large—there. I want to add a line to my temp-/junk-file cleaning script to automatically delete that folder if it exists, but I cannot figure out how to access it from the command-line without resorting to wildcards.)

  • Recover deleted folder form bookmarks bar?

    - by OverTheRainbow
    I googled for this, but didn't find an answer. I removed a folder in Google Chrome's Bookmarks bar. Chrome says nothing when doing this, and I assumed it wouldn't actually delete the data from the Bookmarks manager, just the folder in the Bookmarks bar. Turns out I was wrong, and now I lost hundred's of URLs. I closed and restarted Chrome since then, so data is apparently no longer on disk. Since Google Sync is on by default, it says I have "536 bookmarks", I installed Chrome on another computer, logged on to Google... but the folder is still gone. I can't believe Chrome doesn't prompt the user with an obvious message for something that important. Is there somehow a way to recover a folder removed from the Bookmarks bar? Thank you. Edit: Amazingly, Chrome doesn't 1) provide a way to remove an item from the Bookmarks bar without also deleting it from the Bookmarks list, and 2) doesn't even warn the user of the consequences when doing so! The only way to recover data is: if you haven't closed the browser yet, make a backup of the Bookmarks file, close the browser, replace the now-leaner Bookmarks file with the previous version, and restart Chrome if you have closed it, recover the file from your backup. You did backup that file, right? ;-)

  • Open source app to manage and run commands on cloud servers? [closed]

    - by Mark Theunissen
    I'm creating a SaaS platform, and I need a component / library that can create, delete and store the connection details for cloud servers. It also needs to support executing shell commands on these servers and returning the response to the caller. I want a central database of servers and their configuration, plus the ability to reach out and manage the servers via SSH execution of bash scripts. I don't want something that needs agents on every server like Chef. For example, this command is received by the hypothetical application: CREATE USER server = server12345 name = myuser It's translated into the following set of actions and executed by the app, which knows how to connect to server12345, and how to create a user on that server: $ ssh root@server12345 $ adduser myuser And returns the output from the shell: Added user myuser. I've done research on Google and can't quite quite find something that does this already. I've found: fabric This part handles the executing of the shell commands very elegantly, and can take multiple server definitions, but it's supposed to be a deployment tool so doesn't do everything that would be required above - for example, it doesn't have a daemon mode where it listens for commands - it expects to be executed on the shell. It also can't provide the central database functionality. libcloud This library can handle the server admin (CRUD) part, but doesn't have a command interface daemon either, and doesn't let you execute commands on the servers. I guess I need something that is a combination of libcloud, fabric and django for an API. Or something else that does that same thing regardless of language. Overmind Overmind is a GUI and wrapper around libcloud, but doesn't support the command execution part. What am I missing here?

  • Folder doesn't show up in explorer, cmd, and python even though I can access it, how can I fix this?

    - by Miebster
    I am accessing another computer on the network using a mapped network drive. The path looks like \\192.168.0.100\d$ which is mapped to my computer's "m" drive. I can access, view, create, delete, move, etc folders on this drive. However, some folders don't show up in windows explorer, even tho I can access them. Example: Lets say that M:\stuff\more_stuff is a directory. What I can't do: When windows explorer is pointed at M:\stuff I can't see more_stuff In cmd prompt pointed at M:\stuff "dir" doesn't find more_stuff In cmd prompt pointed at M:\stuff "dir /a" doens't find more_stuff In python, os.listdir at M:\stuff doens't find more_stuff What I can do: Typing M:\stuff\more_stuff into the address bar lets me access the folder like normal. Because there is no indication that this folder even exists, there could be more like them. I have no way of knowing how many folders are magically hidden on this mapped drive. What are some steps I can do to figure out why this folder is hidden? (With the end goal of making it no longer hidden).

  • Web Application Problems (web.config errors) HTTP 500.19 with IIS7.5 and ASP.NET v2

    - by Django Reinhardt
    This is driving the whole team crazy. There must be some simple mis-configured part of IIS or our Web Server, but every time we try to run out ASP.NET Web Application on IIS 7.5 we get the following error... Here's the error in full: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. `Detailed Error Information` Module IIS Web Core Notification Unknown Handler Not yet determined Error Code 0x8007000d Config Error Config File \\?\E:\wwwroot\web.config Requested URL http://localhost:80/Default.aspx Physical Path Logon Method Not yet determined Logon User Not yet determined Config Source -1: 0: The machine is running Windows Server 2008 R2. We're developing our Web Application using Visual Studio 2008. According to Microsoft the code 8007000d means there's a syntax error in our web.config -- except the project builds and runs fine locally. Looking at the web.config in XML Notepad doesn't bring up any syntax errors, either. I'm assuming it must be some sort of poor configuration on my part...? Does anyone know where I might find further information about the error? Nothing is showing in EventViewer, either :( Not sure what else would be helpful to mention... Assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks! UPDATES! - POSTED WEB.CONFIG BELOW Ok, since I posted the original question above, I've tracked down the precise lines in the web.config that were causing the error. Here are the lines (they appear between <System.webServer> tags)... <httpHandlers> <remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </httpHandlers> Note: If I delete the lines between the <httpHandlers> I STILL get the error. I literally have to delete <httpHandlers> (and the lines inbetween) to stop getting the above error. Once I've done this I get a new 500.19 error, however. Thankfully, this time IIS actually tells me which bit of the web.config is causing a problem... <handlers> <remove name="WebServiceHandlerFactory-Integrated"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory,System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <add name="ScriptHandlerFactoryAppServices" verb="*" path="*_AppService.axd" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <add name="ScriptResource" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="GET,HEAD" path="ScriptResource.axd" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </handlers> Looking at these lines it's clear the problem has migrated further within the same <system.webServer> tag to the <handlers> tag. The new error is also more explicit and specifically complains that it doesn't recognize the attribute "validate" (as seen on the third line above). Removing this attribute then makes it complain that the same line doesn't have the required "name" attribute. Adding this attribute then brings up ASP.NET error... Could not load file or assembly 'System.web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Obviously I think these new errors have just arisen from me deleting the <httpHandlers> tags in the first place -- they're obviously needed by the application -- so the question remains: Why would these tags kick up an error in IIS in the first place??? Do I need to install something to IIS to make it work with them? Thanks again for any help. WEB.CONFIG Here's the troublesome bits of our web.Config... I hope this helps someone find our problem! <system.Web> <!-- stuff cut out --> <httpHandlers> <remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <add verb="*" path="*_AppService.axd" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <add verb="GET,HEAD" path="ScriptResource.axd" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56" validate="false"/> </httpHandlers> <httpModules> <add name="ScriptModule" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </httpModules> </system.web> <system.webServer> <validation validateIntegratedModeConfiguration="false"/> <modules> <add name="ScriptModule" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </modules> <remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <handlers> <remove name="WebServiceHandlerFactory-Integrated"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory,System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <add name="ScriptHandlerFactoryAppServices" verb="*" path="*_AppService.axd" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> <add name="ScriptResource" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="GET,HEAD" path="ScriptResource.axd" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </handlers> </system.webServer>

  • How to stop an IOException error using whilst using a combination of jython, pyro and ant?

    - by Kelso
    So the wonderful low down on this doozie of a problem: short version: We are building a distribution system for this item of software we're using. Basically we take out build artifact, store it on an ftp server which passes it to multiple clients which execute scripts to patch their servers. Long version: 1 distribution server multiple client servers software: jython 2.5.1, ant 1.8.0, pyro 3.10 The distribution server has an FTP server and a PYRO client running on it. Each client server has a PRYO server running on it. When the PYRO client is told to start the patch procedure then it reads a machine list which contains a list of all the client servers. Then connects to each of the PYRO servers one by one and execute the patch procedure. The procedure is: getPatch (gets the latest patch for that server), StopServer (stops the software that may or maynot be accessing what needs to be patched), Apply patch, StartServer. Each of the processes calls an ANT script that passes with some folder names and other config passes around. The fun part happens when you go to apply the patch. See below for error log. I had to remove the folder names because of NDA reasons. This is where it gets interesting. Running each section of the procedure individually. i.e. running getPatch, StopServer, etc. one at a time manually. This bug doesn't happen. Physically goign to the machine and running the processes it doesn't happen. Only when we call all 4 of the processes one after the other. It occurs during the ApplyPatch phase when an ANT replace script is called on multiple files. We think it might have something to do with the JVM keeping hold of the file for a split second or 2. however this is meant to have been patched according to the bug notes on ant. so in short: distribution server == jython == pyro connection == client server == jython == ant script Error Log: <*snip>\ant\deploy.xml:12: IOException in <*snip>\bin\startGs.sh - java.io.IOException:Failed to • Dependency Property WPF Grid

    - by developer
    Hi All, I want to Bind the textblock text in WPF datagrid to a dependency property. Somehow, nothing gets displayed, but when I use the same textblock binding outside the grid, everything works fine. Below is my code, <Window.Resources> <Style x:Key="cellCenterAlign" TargetType="{x:Type toolkit:DataGridCell}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type toolkit:DataGridCell}"> <Grid Background="{TemplateBinding Background}"> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"/> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> <Style x:Key="ColumnHeaderStyle" TargetType="{x:Type toolkit:DataGridColumnHeader}"> <Setter Property="VerticalContentAlignment" Value="Center" /> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Center"/> </Style> <ObjectDataProvider MethodName="GetValues" ObjectType="{x:Type sys:Enum}" x:Key="RoleValues"> <ObjectDataProvider.MethodParameters> <x:Type TypeName="domain:SubscriptionRole"/> </ObjectDataProvider.MethodParameters> </ObjectDataProvider> <DataTemplate x:Key="myTemplate"> <StackPanel> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=OtherSubs}"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </Window.Resources> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="220"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <StackPanel Grid.Row="0"> <toolkit:DataGrid Name="definitionGrid" Margin="0,10,0,0" AutoGenerateColumns="False" CanUserAddRows="False" CanUserDeleteRows="False" IsReadOnly="False" RowHeight="25" FontWeight="Normal" ItemsSource="{Binding programSubscription}" ColumnHeaderStyle="{DynamicResource ColumnHeaderStyle}" SelectionMode="Single" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" Width="450" ScrollViewer.VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" Height="200"> <toolkit:DataGrid.Columns> <toolkit:DataGridTextColumn Header="Program" Width="80" Binding="{Binding Program.JobNum}" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}" IsReadOnly="True"/> <toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn Header="Role" Width="80" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}"> <toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <ComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding Role}" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource RoleValues}}" Width="70"> <ComboBox.Style> <Style> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=Role}" Value="Owner"> <Setter Property="ComboBox.Focusable" Value="False"/> <Setter Property="ComboBox.IsEnabled" Value="False"/> <Setter Property="ComboBox.IsHitTestVisible" Value="False"/> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </ComboBox.Style> </ComboBox> </DataTemplate> </toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn> <toolkit:DataGridCheckBoxColumn Header="Email" Width="60" Binding="{Binding ReceivesEmail}" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}"/> <!--<toolkit:DataGridTextColumn Header="Others" Width="220" Binding="{Binding programSubscription1.Subscriber.Username}" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}" IsReadOnly="True"/>--> <toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn Header="Others" Width="220" CellStyle="{StaticResource cellCenterAlign}" IsReadOnly="True"> <toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=OtherSubs}"/> </DataTemplate> </toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </toolkit:DataGridTemplateColumn> </toolkit:DataGrid.Columns> </toolkit:DataGrid> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=OtherSubs}"/> </StackPanel> <Grid Grid.Row="1"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="200"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <StackPanel Grid.Column="0" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"> <CheckBox Content="Show Only Active Programs" IsChecked="True" Margin="0,0,8,0"/> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" VerticalAlignment="Center" Grid.Column="1" HorizontalAlignment="Right"> <Button Content="Save" Height="23" Width="75" Margin="0,0,8,0" Click="Save_Click"/> <Button Content="Cancel" Height="23" Width="75" Margin="0,0,8,0" Click="Cancel_Click" /> </StackPanel> </Grid> </Grid> Code-Behind public partial class ProgramSubscriptions : Window { public static ObservableCollection programSubscription { get; set; } public string OtherSubs { get { return (string)GetValue(OtherSubsProperty); } set { SetValue(OtherSubsProperty, value); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty OtherSubsProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("OtherSubs", typeof(string), typeof(ProgramSubscriptions), new UIPropertyMetadata(string.Empty)); private string CurrentUsername = "test"; public ProgramSubscriptions() { InitializeComponent(); DataContext = this; LoadData(); } protected void LoadData() { programSubscription = new ObservableCollection<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel>(); if (res != null && res.TotalResults > 0) { List<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel> UserPrgList = new List<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel>(); //other.... List<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel> OtherPrgList = new List<ProgramSubscriptionViewModel>(); ArrayList myList = new ArrayList(); foreach (DomainObject obj in res.ResultSet) { ProgramSubscription prg = (ProgramSubscription)obj; if (prg.Subscriber.Username == CurrentUsername) { UserPrgList.Add(new ProgramSubscriptionViewModel(prg)); myList.Add(prg.Program.ID); } else OtherPrgList.Add(new ProgramSubscriptionViewModel(prg)); } for (int i = 0; i < UserPrgList.Count; i++) { ProgramSubscriptionViewModel item = UserPrgList[i]; programSubscription.Add(item); } //other.... for (int i = 0; i < OtherPrgList.Count; i++) { foreach (int y in myList) { ProgramSubscriptionViewModel otheritem = OtherPrgList[i]; if (y == otheritem.Program.ID) OtherSubs += otheritem.Subscriber.Username + ", "; } } } } } I posted the entire code. What exactly I want to do is in the datagridtemplatecolumn for others I want to display the usernames that are not in CurrentUsername, but they have the same program Id as the CurrentUsername. Please do let me know if there is another way that i can make this work, instead of using a dependencyproperty, althouht for testing I did put a textblock below datagrid, and it works perfectly fine.. Help!

  • CSS IE Hover Effect - Overlapping Elements, Display:Block, and Crashes

    - by Emtucifor
    In a fairly simple page, I have some text appear on hover over some links, like a tooltip. To start with here's my test page I'm working with: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>Tooltip Test Page</title> <style type="text/css"> html, body, form, table, tr, td, div, p, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5 { border:0; margin:0; padding:0; } body { margin:10px; } html, body, table { font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; } h1 { font-weight:bold; font-size:16px; } table {border-collapse:collapse;} td {padding:0 8px 0 0;} a.tooltip { z-index:24; text-decoration:none; cursor:default; position:relative; color:#000; display:block; width:100px; } a.tooltip span {display:none;} a.tooltip:hover, a.tooltip:active { z-index:25; color:; background:; /* the color and background actually don't matter for their values, it's just that these have to change for IE to apply this style properly. Leaving out the color or the background makes this fail in different ways. */ } a.tooltip:hover span, a.tooltip:active span { display:block; position:absolute; color:black; background-color:#FFFFCC; border:1px solid black; padding:1px; text-align:left; top:0; left:0; margin-top:-1px; } td span.s5 {color:#ff0000} td span.s6 {color:#0000ff} </style> <script type="text/javascript"> function labelSubmit(label) { document.getElementById('o').value=label; document.BackAt.submit(); } </script> </head> <body> <h1>tooltip Test Page</h1> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td><span class="s6">&#x25a0;</span> Name 3</td> <td class="status"><a class="tooltip" href="" onclick="return false;">Status 6<span>Some very long tooltip text to demonstrate the problem by overlapping the cells below.</span></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span class="s6">&#x25a0;</span> Name 1</td> <td class="status"><a class="tooltip" href="" onclick="return false;">Status 6</a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span class="s6">&#x25a0;</span> Name 2</td> <td class="status"><a class="tooltip" href="" onclick="return false;">Status 6<span>Some tooltip text</span></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span class="s6">&#x25a0;</span> Name 4</td> <td class="status"><a class="tooltip" href="" onclick="return false;">Status 6</a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span class="s5">&#x25a0;</span> Name 5</td> <td class="status"><a class="tooltip" href="" onclick="return false;">Status 5<span>More Notes</span></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><span class="s6">&#x25a0;</span> Name 6</td> <td class="status"><a class="tooltip" href="" onclick="return false;">Status 6<span>Yet more notes</span></a></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </body> </html> The problem I'm experiencing is that text from other values shows through the tooltip text. Hover over the first row, second column to see the effect. There are a couple of things I'm trying to accomplish: Make the activation area for the hover wider, so hovering over some space to the right of "Status 6" calls up the tooltip (say, 100-150px total width of target). At first, when I was adding "display:block" to a.tooltip, IE was terminating on hover. I resolved that by removing width:14em from a.tooltip:hover. Styling the width of the hover event + display.block on the a element does BAD things. Change the width of the tooltip without changing the width of the column/parent element (so the tooltip can be wider than itso it takes up less vertical space). Options for making the tooltips change width with its contents up to a max width, at which point the lines wrap would be awesome, but probably impossible in IE. As soon as I put a width in place on a.tooltip, the portion of the tooltip that is above other rows than the hover source let text show through from those cells. Remove the width and you'll see that the text doesn't show through any more. The hover effect applies to the entire tooltip, so if the tooltip covers 3 rows, while moving the mouse downward, the next 2 rows won't activate because the cursor hasn't left the tooltip. Can the hover effect apply only to the initial element hovered over and not the tooltip itself so moving the mouse downward will show each tooltip in each row? It would be nice if the links could never be activated (they can't take the focus). I don't know if that's possible. Too bad IE doesn't support hover on any elements but links. Note: soon IE6 will be abandoned in favor of IE8. If it makes a big difference, then IE8 can be the target browser instead. Thanks for your help.

  • Bindable richTextBox still hanging in memory {WPF, Caliburn.Micro}

    - by Paul
    Hi, I use in WFP Caliburn.Micro Framework. I need bindable richTextbox for Document property. I found many ways how do it bindable richTextBox. But I have one problem. From parent window I open child window. Child window consist bindable richTextBox user control. After I close child window and use memory profiler view class with bindabelrichTextBox control and view model class is still hanging in memory. - this cause memory leaks. If I use richTextBox from .NET Framework or richTextBox from Extended WPF Toolkit it doesn’t cause this memory leak problem. I can’t identified problem in bindable richTextBox class. Here is ist class for bindable richTextBox: Base class can be from .NET or Extended toolkit. /// <summary> /// Represents a bindable rich editing control which operates on System.Windows.Documents.FlowDocument /// objects. /// </summary> public class BindableRichTextBox : RichTextBox { /// <summary> /// Identifies the <see cref="Document"/> dependency property. /// </summary> public static readonly DependencyProperty DocumentProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Document", typeof(FlowDocument), typeof(BindableRichTextBox)); /// <summary> /// Initializes a new instance of the <see cref="BindableRichTextBox"/> class. /// </summary> public BindableRichTextBox() : base() { } /// <summary> /// Initializes a new instance of the <see cref="BindableRichTextBox"/> class. /// </summary> /// <param title="document">A <see cref="T:System.Windows.Documents.FlowDocument"></see> to be added as the initial contents of the new <see cref="T:System.Windows.Controls.BindableRichTextBox"></see>.</param> public BindableRichTextBox(FlowDocument document) : base(document) { } /// <summary> /// Raises the <see cref="E:System.Windows.FrameworkElement.Initialized"></see> event. This method is invoked whenever <see cref="P:System.Windows.FrameworkElement.IsInitialized"></see> is set to true internally. /// </summary> /// <param title="e">The <see cref="T:System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs"></see> that contains the event data.</param> protected override void OnInitialized(EventArgs e) { // Hook up to get notified when DocumentProperty changes. DependencyPropertyDescriptor descriptor = DependencyPropertyDescriptor.FromProperty(DocumentProperty, typeof(BindableRichTextBox)); descriptor.AddValueChanged(this, delegate { // If the underlying value of the dependency property changes, // update the underlying document, also. base.Document = (FlowDocument)GetValue(DocumentProperty); }); // By default, we support updates to the source when focus is lost (or, if the LostFocus // trigger is specified explicity. Binding binding = BindingOperations.GetBinding(this, DocumentProperty); if (binding.UpdateSourceTrigger == UpdateSourceTrigger.Default || binding.UpdateSourceTrigger == UpdateSourceTrigger.LostFocus) { BindingOperations.GetBindingExpression(this, DocumentProperty).UpdateSource(); } } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the <see cref="T:System.Windows.Documents.FlowDocument"></see> that represents the contents of the <see cref="T:System.Windows.Controls.BindableRichTextBox"></see>. /// </summary> /// <value></value> /// <returns>A <see cref="T:System.Windows.Documents.FlowDocument"></see> object that represents the contents of the <see cref="T:System.Windows.Controls.BindableRichTextBox"></see>.By default, this property is set to an empty <see cref="T:System.Windows.Documents.FlowDocument"></see>. Specifically, the empty <see cref="T:System.Windows.Documents.FlowDocument"></see> contains a single <see cref="T:System.Windows.Documents.Paragraph"></see>, which contains a single <see cref="T:System.Windows.Documents.Run"></see> which contains no text.</returns> /// <exception cref="T:System.ArgumentException">Raised if an attempt is made to set this property to a <see cref="T:System.Windows.Documents.FlowDocument"></see> that represents the contents of another <see cref="T:System.Windows.Controls.RichTextBox"></see>.</exception> /// <exception cref="T:System.ArgumentNullException">Raised if an attempt is made to set this property to null.</exception> /// <exception cref="T:System.InvalidOperationException">Raised if this property is set while a change block has been activated.</exception> public new FlowDocument Document { get { return (FlowDocument)GetValue(DocumentProperty); } set { SetValue(DocumentProperty, value); } } } Thank fro help and advice. Qucik example: Child window with .NET richTextBox <Window x:Class="WpfApplication2.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <RichTextBox Background="Green" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" FontSize="13" Margin="4,4,4,4" Grid.Row="0"/> </Grid> </Window> This window I open from parent window: var w = new Window1(); w.Show(); Then close this window, check with memory profiler and it memory doesn’t exist any object of window1 - richTextBox. It’s Ok. But then I try bindable richTextBox: Child window 2: <Window x:Class="WpfApplication2.Window2" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:Controls="clr-namespace:WpfApplication2.Controls" Title="Window2" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <Controls:BindableRichTextBox Background="Red" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" FontSize="13" Margin="4,4,4,4" Grid.Row="0" /> </Grid> </Window> Open child window 2, close this child window and in memory are still alive object of this child window also bindable richTextBox object.

    Hello, I wonder why my contentcontrol(headeredcontentcontrol) does not change the datatemplates when I press the previous/next button. • MixItUp Pagination not working

    - by pwnjack
    I'm using MixItUp in my project to have an homepage with my items, and I want a pagination, i saw that the plugin actually supports pagination but I couldn't make it work. Here is my attempt: Markup: <div id="main"> <div class="container" id="Container"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-md-3 mix clip"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Videoclip</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix adv"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Advertising</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix reportage"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Reportage</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix clip"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Videoclip</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix adv"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Advertising</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix reportage"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Reportage</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix clip"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Videoclip</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix adv"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Advertising</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix reportage"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Videoclip</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix clip"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Videoclip</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix adv"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Advertising</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-3 mix reportage"> <div class="item"> <img src="http://placehold.it/300x200" class="img-responsive" alt=""> <div class="caption"> <h1>Title</h1> <p>Reportage</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> <!-- end row --> </div> <!-- end container --> </div> <!-- end main --> As you can see the plugin is working fine with filters, but the pagination is not even showing. In the plugin's documentation there's a section dedicated to pagination, although the demo example is not there, so i can't use it as a starting working point. You can take a look at the documentation here: https://mixitup.kunkalabs.com/extensions/pagination I followed the instructions and used this JS code: $('#Container').mixItUp({ pagination: { generatePagers: true, prevButtonHTML: '«', nextButtonHTML: '»' } }); I put in the markup the emtpy div as stated in the docs: <div class="pager-list"> <!-- Pagination buttons will be generated here --> </div> Nothing happens. Can someone point me in the right direction, I don't know how to go on solving this problem, the plugin seems to support pagination, so I'm hoping to achieve that. Thanks, any suggestion is much appreciated.

  • help fixing pagination class

    - by michael
    here is my pagination class. the data in the construct is just an another class that does db queries and other stuff. the problem that i am having is that i cant seem to get the data output to match the pagination printing and i cant seem to get the mysql_fetch_assoc() to query the data and print it out. i get this error: Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /phpdev/pagination/index.php on line 215 i know that can mean that the query isnt correct for it to fetch the data but i have entered it correctly. sorry for the script being a little long. i thank all in advance for any help. <?php include_once("class.db.php"); mysql_connect("host","login","password"); mysql_select_db("iadcart"); class Pagination { var $adjacents; var $limit; var $param; var $mPage; var $query; var $qData; var $printData; protected $db; function __construct() { $this->db = new MysqlDB; } function show() { $result = $this->db->query($this->query); $totalPages = $this->db->num_rows($result); $limit = $this->limit; /* ------------------------------------- Set Page ------------------------------------- */ if(isset($_GET['page'])) { $page = intval($_GET['page']); $start = ($page - 1) * $limit; } else { $start = 0; } /* ------------------------------------- Set Page Vars ------------------------------------- */ if($page == 0) { $page = 1; } $prev = $page - 1; $next = $page + 1; $lastPage = ceil($totalPages/$limit); $lpm1 = $lastPage - 1; $adjacents = $this->adjacents; $mPage = $this->mPage; //the magic $this->qData = $this->query .   • Using getters/setters in Java

    - by Crystal
    I'm having some trouble with the idea of accessing variables from other classes. I had a post here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3011642/having-access-to-a-private-variable-from-other-classes-in-java where I got some useful information, and thought an example would be better show it, and ask a separate question as well. I have a form that I can input data to, and it has a List variable. I didn't make it static at first, but I thought if I needed to get the total size from another class, then I wouldn't create an instance of that class in order to use the function to getTotalContacts. I basically want to update my status bar with the total number of contacts that are in my list. One of the members said in the above post to use the original Foo member to get the contacts, but I'm not sure how that works in this case. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; import java.util.List; import java.util.ArrayList; public class AddressBook { public static void main(String[] args) { EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { AddressBookFrame frame = new AddressBookFrame(); • C++ scoping error

    I have the following code: #include "Student.h" #include "SortedList.h" using namespace std; int main() { // points to the sorted list object SortedList *list = new SortedList; //This is line 17 // array to hold 100 student objects Student create[100]; int num = 100000; // holds different ID numbers // fills an array with 100 students of various ID numbers for (Student &x : create) { x = new Student(num); num += 100; } // insert all students into the sorted list for (Student &x : create) list->insert(&x); delete list; return 0; } And I keep getting the compile time error: main.cpp: In function ‘int main()’: main.cpp:17: error: ‘SortedList’ was not declared in this scope main.cpp:17: error: ‘list’ was not declared in this scope main.cpp:17: error: expected type-specifier before ‘SortedList’ main.cpp:17: error: expected `;' before ‘SortedList’ main.cpp:20: error: ‘Student’ was not declared in this scope main.cpp:20: error: expected primary-expression before ‘]’ token main.cpp:20: error: expected `;' before ‘create’ main.cpp:25: error: expected `;' before ‘x’ main.cpp:31: error: expected primary-expression before ‘for’ main.cpp:31: error: expected `;' before ‘for’ main.cpp:31: error: expected primary-expression before ‘for’ main.cpp:31: error: expected `)' before ‘for’ main.cpp:31: error: expected `;' before ‘x’ main.cpp:34: error: type ‘<type error>’ argument given to ‘delete’, expected pointer main.cpp:35: error: expected primary-expression before ‘return’ main.cpp:35: error: expected `)' before ‘return’ My Student.cpp and SortedList.cpp files compile just fine. They both also include .h files. I just do not understand why I get an error on that line. It seems to be a small issue though. Any insight would be appreciated.
